DAILY CRIME REPORTS – June, 2017

THE FOLLOWING INCIDENTS ARE AN ACCOUNT OF CALLS AND CASES RESPONDED TO BY OFFICERS OF THE RIDGELAND POLICE DEPARTMENT. THESE CASES ARE CLOSED OR CURRENTLY UNDER INVESTIGATION. JUNE 30, 2017

  • 1:14 a.m. – A welfare check was conducted in the area of James Taylor Drive after a 911 hang up call was received by Jasper County Emergency Services. Responding Officers ultimately located Willie Edward McCoy walking South on the roadway where he was found to be intoxicated.  He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.
  • 4:15 a.m. – A silver Lexus ls300 was reportedly parked on Old House Road at the entrance to Good Hope Plantation with a portion of the vehicle partially blocking the Westbound lane of travel.  Responding Officers discovered Robert Barrientos Jr. sleeping behind the wheel with the engine running and headlights in operation with an open container of beer beside him.  He was awakened and ultimately placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center after being determined to be highly intoxicated as Scott’s Automotive took possession of the vehicle.
  • 5:53 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Bobops Convenience Store at 8548 Grahamville Road.
  • 7:39 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Ridgeland Boys & Girls Club at 456 Grays Highway.
  • 9:27 a.m. – A report was filed at the Daniel Defense Manufacturing Facility at 58 Firefly Drive after a recently terminated employee made several statements that he may wish to do harm to himself or others.  Responding Officers forwarded the information to the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office in order to have a welfare check conducted at the subject’s residence in Bluffton.
  • 10:22 a.m. – A gray Toyota Rav4 was reportedly struck by an unknown vehicle in the parking lot of Harvey’s Grocery Store at 8205 East Main Street.  A review of surveillance footage revealed that no such incident occurred at that location.
  • 10:23 a.m. – A suspicious vehicle was reported in the parking lot of the Daniel Defense Manufacturing Facility at 58 Firefly Drive.
  • 12:15 p.m. – A civil dispute was reported at the Carolina Lodge Motel at 8260 East Main Street.
  • 2:39 p.m. – A welfare check was conducted on a male subject reportedly lying beside the roadway at the exit 22 Northbound entrance ramp.
  • 4:25 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 28 mile marker in reference to a white tractor trailer.
  • 4:51 p.m. – A white Ford Explorer was involved in a single vehicle collision after the driver lost control and struck the side of the Main Street Pharmacy at 7752 West Main Street.  No injuries were reported.

  • 4:52 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North around the 18 mile marker in reference to a red Ford Focus.
  • 4:59 p.m. – A report of possible illegal drug activity was filed at the Econo Lodge Motel at 511 James Taylor Drive.
  • 5:40 p.m. – A female pedestrian was reportedly scratched by a dog running loose near the intersection of Grays Highway and Airport Road.
  • 9:49 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 22 mile marker in reference to a small passenger car.
  • 10:31 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North around the 18 mile marker in reference to a black Jeep.
  • 11:09 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 33 mile marker in reference to a yellow and silver tractor trailer.

JUNE 29, 2017

  • 8:18 a.m. – Two subjects were reportedly riding a motor scooter on the shoulder of I-95 South around the 28 mile marker.
  • 9:46 a.m. – Officers responded to a report of a black male directing traffic around downed railroad crossing arms at the intersection of West Main Street and Railroad Avenue where Lindsay Darnell Toomer was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center after being determined to be intoxicated.
  • 10:02 a.m. – A welfare check was conducted on the driver of a blue Volvo tractor trailer in the I-95 Southbound parking area at the 17 mile marker after his company was unable to contact him for 2 hours.
  • 12:26 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 33 mile marker in reference to a red tractor trailer.
  • 1:02 p.m. – A welfare check was conducted on a group of black male juveniles at Turpin Park at 901 North Logan Street after complaints were received that they were possibly fighting one another.
  • 1:05 p.m. – Marvin Guinyard, 60 of Ridgeland SC, was placed on trespass notice for the business properties of the Gulf Station at 8250 East Main Street and the Exxon Station at 8310 East Main Street at Management’s request.
  • 1:11 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 25 mile marker in reference to a gray Ford Edge.
  • 1:45 p.m. – A discarded tarp lying in the roadway was reportedly impeding traffic flow on I-95 South at the exit 21 interchange.
  • 2:25 p.m. – A complaint was filed at the Ridgeland Family Dentistry Office at 10832 North Jacob Smart Boulevard in reference to unknown persons placing household trash in the business receptacle.
  • 2:59 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported at the intersection of North Jacob Smart Boulevard and East Main Street.
  • 3:07 p.m. – Two suspicious black males in a brown Nissan Altima were reported at Heron Crossing Apartments at 72 Heron Crossing Drive.
  • 4:02 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 28 mile marker in reference to a white Chevy Tahoe.
  • 4:45 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North around the 9 mile marker in reference to a green Ford F250 pickup.
  • 5:20 p.m. – Two SUV’s traveling East were reportedly racing one another on Highway 462 at the Rice Shire Road intersection.
  • 5:44 p.m. – A white Dodge Ram pickup and a black Lincoln were involved in a collision in the parking lot of the Citgo Station at 107 Sycamore Drive.  No injuries were reported.
  • 9:01 p.m. – Two females were reportedly arguing inside of the Family Dollar Store at 73 South Green Street.
  • 11:41 p.m. – A suspicious vehicle was reported in the parking lot of the Blue Heron Nature Center at 321 Bailey Lane.

JUNE 28, 2017

  • 5:58 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Piggly Wiggly Grocery Store at 10847 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.
  • 8:50 a.m. – A harassment complaint was filed by a female tenant at the Econo Lodge Motel at 511 James Taylor Drive after a black male driving a white van with top mounted ladder racks drove slowly beside her asking personal questions as she was walking her dog in the parking lot area.  The suspect ultimately left the area but returned a short time later and began walking around the business property allegedly searching for the female who had since returned to her room.
  • 9:37 a.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North around the 18 mile marker in reference to a tractor trailer.
  • 10:28 a.m. – A report of illegal drug activity between 2 male students was reported at the Ridgeland Alternative School at 943 Grays Highway.
  • 11:56 a.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 in reference to a tractor trailer traveling North between Hardeeville and Ridgeland towing an oversized load.
  • 3:01 p.m. – A child standing outside of a white vehicle parked on the side of the roadway was reportedly attempting to flag passing motorists down at the intersection of South Jacob Smart Boulevard and Smith’s Crossing.
  • 4:03 p.m. – A breach of trust was reported at Harvey’s Grocery Store at 8205 East Main Street after a routine review of surveillance footage revealed an employee stealing and carrying away several hundred dollars worth of crab legs. 
  • 6:24 p.m. – A suspicious black female was reportedly staggering in the roadway on East Wilson Street.
  • 7:34 p.m. – Joseph Holmes, 54 of Ridgeland SC, was reportedly spotted in the parking lot of the Star Point BP Station at 11122 North Jacob Smart Boulevard. He is currently listed as a wanted person by the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office stemming from an outstanding Family Court bench warrant.

    9:19 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Jasper County Office of Technology at 262 Third Avenue.

JUNE 27, 2017

  • 10:07 a.m. – A suspicious blue Honda passenger car was reported outside of a residence on Tillman Road. 
  • 11:37 a.m. – Ridgeland Officers traveled to the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office at 12008 North Jacob Smart Boulevard after receiving word that Essie Belle Duncan, who was listed as a wanted person, was at that location.  She was placed under arrest by responding Officers and turned over to Jasper County Detention Center Staff.  Duncan’s charges stemmed from a December 31st 2016 theft at the Waffle House Restaurant at 8185 East Main Street where she and two other females left the business property without paying their bill.  She was ultimately identified through a review of surveillance footage and a warrant was issued for her arrest.  Co-defendant Latoya Denise Johnson, 27 of Garnett SC, was recently taken into custody on June 24th following her arrest by Beaufort County Sheriff’s Deputies.
  • 1:16 p.m. – Ridgeland Officers traveled to the Jasper County Detention Center in service of an outstanding warrant against inmate Ruben Andres Mendoza following his arrest at a residence on East Wilson Street by Jasper County Deputies serving an outstanding possession of marijuana bench warrant. Mendoza’s charges with RPD stemmed from an April 2nd 2017 traffic stop at the intersection of Wood Duck Street and Cobia Lane where he was cited and assigned a court date after being found in possession of a quantity of marijuana. He then failed to appear in Ridgeland Municipal Court on April 24th to answer to the charge where he was found guilty during a trial in absence and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
  • 5:12 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North around the 15 mile marker in reference to a black Chevy Cruze.
  • 5:52 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 33 mile marker in reference to a gray Ford Mustang.
  • 5:55 p.m. – An animal complaint was filed at the Ridgeland High School at 250 Jaguar Trail in reference to a stray cat wandering the property and getting inside of parked vehicles.

JUNE 26, 2017

  • 7:11 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Ridgeland Boys & Girls Club at 456 Grays Highway.
  • 7:54 a.m. – A suspicious female driving a red Chevy Cavalier was reported at the Live Oaks Physical Therapy Office at 8084 East Main Street.
  • 8:11 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Puddle Jumpers Daycare Center at 11332 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.
  • 10:49 a.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 33 mile marker in reference to a dark colored Hyundai Santa Fe.
  • 1:37 p.m. – A woman’s handbag was found by a customer at the Wendy’s Restaurant at 8480 Grahamville Road and turned over to responding RPD Officers for return to the rightful owner who was contacted by telephone.
  • 2:22 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North around the 12 mile marker in reference to a black Kia passenger car.
  • 2:43 p.m. – A property damage complaint was filed at the El Cheapo Station at 11033 North Jacob Smart Boulevard after employees discovered a section of canopy over the fuel pump area having suffered damage over the weekend.  A review of security footage revealed a white Ford F350 Dually pickup towing an oversized Handi House causing the damage on Sunday June 25th just before 9 a.m.  The driver then backed the vehicle out of the parking lot and left the area traveling South on Jacob Smart Boulevard without reporting the collision. Surveillance footage is being reviewed for suspect identification and pending charges.

  • 3:00 p.m. – An animal complaint was filed at the Main Street Pharmacy at 7752 West Main Street in reference to a stray cat wandering the business property.
  • 3:32 p.m. – Ridgeland Officers assisted Jasper County Sheriff’s Deputies in responding to a request for a welfare check of a male subject at a home on Calf Pen Bay Road.
  • 4:11 p.m. – A Dodge Durango was involved in a single vehicle collision on I-95 North around the 20 mile marker after a blown tire caused the driver to lose control and strike a roadside drainage ditch.  No injuries were reported.

    4:44 p.m. – A blue Hyundai Tiburon and a white Chevy Impala were involved in a collision in the parking lot of the Piggly Wiggly Grocery Store at 10847 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.  No injuries were reported.

  • 6:49 p.m. – A report of illegal drug activity was filed at The Palms Motel at 10735 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.
  • 8:02 p.m. – A green GMC Terrain and a white Toyota Camry were involved in a collision in the parking lot of the Rite Aid Pharmacy at 8225 East Main Street.  No injuries were reported.
  • 8:40 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Ridgeland Baptist Church at 1448 Grays Highway.
  • 9:17 p.m. – A black Acura sedan was allegedly struck by a red tractor trailer which then continued traveling without reporting the collision on I-95 North around the 16 mile marker.  One male was transported by EMS to Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeville.
  • 10:11 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 28 mile marker in reference to a silver tractor trailer.

JUNE 25, 2017

  • 12:44 a.m. – A suspicious person was reported in the parking lot of the Star Point BP Station at 11122 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.
  • 1:00 a.m. – Two suspicious juveniles were reported at the Blue Heron Nature Center at 80 Blue Heron Drive.
  • 1:13 a.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 27 mile marker in reference to a silver tractor trailer.
  • 2:01 a.m. – A robbery was reported at the Forest Motel at 10504 South Jacob Smart Boulevard after two black males entered a room rented by Amber Rose Sternitzke and struck a 20 year old Bluffton male in the head and face while stealing his cell phone and cash.  The victim then fled the area on foot to the Ridgeland Coin Laundry at 10246 South Jacob Smart Boulevard where he contacted Police. Responding Officers ultimately located Sternitzke inside of a different room with Sharwain Lomant Bobian Jr. who was positively identified as one of the assailants.  Both he and Sternitzke were placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center with Sternitzke receiving a charge of prostitution.  The second assailant was later positively identified as Tevin Raheem Rivers, 22 of Bluffton SC, who remains at large.

     3:18 a.m. – A welfare check was conducted at the Econo Lodge Motel at 511 James Taylor Drive after a 911 hang up call was received by Jasper County Emergency Services.

  • 5:16 a.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North around the 14 mile marker in reference to a white passenger car.
  • 7:54 a.m. – A harassment complaint was filed at Harvey’s Grocery Store at 8205 East Main Street after a white male pedestrian began causing problems with a landscaping crew.
  • 8:11 a.m. – A suspicious male was reported at the Forest Motel at 10504 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.
  • 8:34 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on North Railroad Avenue.
  • 9:57 a.m. – Two suspicious black males were reportedly knocking on various tenants’ doors at the Econo Lodge Motel at 511 James Taylor Drive.
  • 1:49 p.m. – A gray Toyota Rav4 and a red Nissan Maxima were involved in a collision at the intersection of Old House and Summer Hill Roads.  No injuries were reported.
  • 2:47 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Ridgeland Baptist Church at 1448 Grays Highway.
  • 2:58 p.m. – A civil dispute was reported at a residence on Second Avenue after a fallen tree from a neighboring lot struck the complainant’s vehicle.
  • 7:47 p.m. – A welfare check was conducted at the Econo Lodge Motel at 511 James Taylor Drive after a 911 hang up call was received by Jasper County Emergency Services.
  • 10:05 p.m. – A female complainant was allegedly assaulted by two black males at her home on Shadetree Street in the Carters Mill Estates Community.  

JUNE 24, 2017

  • 1:59 a.m. – A noise complaint was filed on Live Oak Farm Road in reference to loud music coming from a neighboring home.
  • 10:58 a.m. – Ridgeland Officers assisted South Carolina Highway Patrol with traffic control after two white Ford F150 pickups were involved in a collision at the intersection of Highway 462 and Gold Drive.
  • 11:29 a.m. – A Nissan Rogue, a Toyota Rav4, a Chevy Equinox and a Suzuki SUV were involved in a collision on I-95 North around the 21 mile marker.  No injuries were reported.
  • 12:27 p.m. – A silver Nissan Quest was struck by a white sedan which then fled the area at the intersection of South Jacob Smart Boulevard and East Adams Street.  No injuries were reported.
  • 1:11 p.m. – A child custody complaint was filed at a residence on Sailfish Circle in the Carters Mill Estates Community.
  • 2:16 p.m. – A welfare check was conducted on a female tenant at the Ridgeland Weekly Rentals at 67 West Woodlawn Street after a complainant was unable to get in contact with her for an extended period of time.
  • 2:28 p.m. – A suspicious white male was reported at the Pratt Memorial Library at 451 East Wilson Street.
  • 2:39 p.m. – Ridgeland Officers assisted Jasper County Deputies in responding to a residence on Grays Highway after information was received from Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office Investigators that Payton Reese Walker, 17, was possibly at that location.  Walker was reported missing from her home on Hilton Head on March 22nd when she was still 16 years old and a pickup order had been issued by the Department of Juvenile Justice.  Ridgeland Officers and Jasper County Deputies soon after located her inside of the Grays Highway home where she was detained and turned over to the custody of responding Beaufort County Sheriff’s Deputies without incident. 
  • 3:29 p.m. – A welfare check was conducted at the Econo Lodge Motel at 511 James Taylor Drive after Charles Garvin Ingram, 48 of Ridgeland, was reportedly spotted on the business property.  He is currently listed as a wanted person by the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office stemming from two outstanding warrants for possession of stolen property and resisting arrest.

    4:07 p.m. – A civil complaint was filed at a residence on Weathersbee Street after workers allegedly damaged a section of the caller’s fencing while clearing an adjacent lot.

  • 4:19 p.m. – a burgundy Harley Davidson motorcycle was involved in a single vehicle collision on I-95 North around the 17 mile marker.  The driver was transported by EMS to Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeville for treatment.
  • 4:48 p.m. – A burgundy Saturn SUV and a gray Nissan Maxima were involved in a collision in the parking lot of Harvey’s Grocery Store at 8205 East Main Street. No injuries were reported.
  • 5:03 p.m. – A call was received from a passing motorist en route to Florida after she reportedly left her purse at the Ridgeland Subway Restaurant at 8234 East Main Street.  Officers recovered the purse which was placed in safe keeping pending return to the owner.
  • 6:37 p.m. – A suspicious female was reported at the Econo Lodge Motel at 511 James Taylor Drive.
  • 7:05 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the State Farm Insurance Office at 10840 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.
  • 7:35 p.m. – A welfare check was conducted at the Ridgeland Weekly Rentals at 67 West Woodlawn Street after a male tenant suffered a laceration to his hand.
  • 8:17 p.m. – A group of suspicious persons was reported at the Econo Lodge Motel at 511 James Taylor Drive.  A second complaint was received at 9:12 p.m.
  • 8:59 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 34 mile marker in reference to a dark blue Chrysler mini van.
  • 10:06 p.m. – A welfare check was conducted at Devonwood Apartments at 137 Captain Bill Road after a tenant heard suspicious noises coming from their back porch.

JUNE 23, 2017

  • 2:28 a.m. – A suspicious white male was reported at the Econo Lodge Motel at 51 James Taylor Drive.
  • 4:55 a.m. – Officers responding to a report of a suspicious white male at the Econo Lodge Motel at 511 James Taylor Drive discovered Donald Jay Edenfield Jr. to be listed as a wanted person by the Effingham County GA Sheriff’s Office stemming from an outstanding 2nd degree burglary warrant.  He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center pending extradition by Georgia Authorities.
  • 7:10 a.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 28 mile marker in reference to a white tractor trailer.
  • 8:35 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Ridgeland Boys & Girls Club at 456 Grays Highway.  A second activation occurred at 10:07 a.m. and a third at 10:29 a.m.
  • 8:59 a.m. – Ridgeland Officers assisted Jasper County Deputies in responding to a possible burglary in progress at a residence in the Grahamville area after suspect Charles Garvin Ingram fled the area on foot.  While investigating the incident Deputies discovered Deidre Ellen Roberts, 25 of Ridgeland, who was listed as a wanted person by the Sheriff’s Office stemming from an outstanding failure to appear forgery warrant from April of 2017. She was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.

    12:10 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported at the intersection of East Main Street and Jacob Smart Boulevard in reference to a white Ford Crown Victoria traveling West towards Tillman.

  • 12:17 p.m. – A suspicious black male was reported at the Waffle House Restaurant at 8185 East Main Street.
  • 12:42 p.m. – A Chevy Trailblazer and a Suzuki Swift were involved in a collision in the parking lot of the Star Point BP Station at 11122 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.  No injuries were reported.
  • 12:57 p.m. – A complaint was filed at an East Adams Street business after two company checks were fraudulently cashed with forged signatures at Regions Bank at 11004 North Jacob Smart Boulevard totaling a loss of several thousand dollars.
  • 4:27 p.m. – A blue Freightliner tractor trailer and a white Ford F250 pickup towing a trailer were involved in a collision on I-95 South around the 18 mile marker.  No injuries were reported.
  • 5:32 p.m. – A welfare check was conducted at a residence on Wiley Street after runaway juvenile April Damron was reportedly spotted outside of the home.
  • 5:46 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the DaVita Dialysis Center at 112 Weathersbee Street.  A second activation occurred at 6:50 p.m.
  • 6:05 p.m. – A welfare check was requested on a male and female pedestrian at the intersection of Captain Bill and Preacher Roads.  The pair were soon after located at 6:21 p.m. at Turpin Park at 901 North Logan Street where the female was found to be a 13 year old juvenile from the Azalea Gardens Community in Hardeeville.  She was turned over to a responding Sheriff’s Deputy and returned home to the custody of her Mother.
  • 7:42 p.m. – A gray Toyota Corolla was stopped for driving under the minimum posted speed limit on I-95 North around the 22 mile marker where the 82 year old female driver from Albany GA was found to be extremely disoriented and unaware of her surroundings.  She was ultimately transported by EMS to Beaufort Memorial Hospital for evaluation and treatment.
  • 8:57 p.m. – Roy Deon Barnwell was charged by RPD Officers after he threatened the life of a Hardeeville Officer transporting him to the Jasper County Detention Center following his arrest for a trespassing charge in that jurisdiction.
  • 8:58 p.m. – Ridgeland Officers assisted Jasper County Sheriff’s Deputies in responding to a report of a suspicious gold Ford Escape parked at the intersection of Wellington and Belfield Drive where driver Ricardo Antonio Badger and passenger Adrian Michael Dusharm were both found to be in possession of open containers of alcohol as well as a quantity of marijuana.  Further investigation revealed Dusharm to be listed as a wanted person by the North Charleston Police Department stemming from an outstanding simple possession of marijuana warrant.  Both suspects were placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as Webster’s Towing took possession of the vehicle.

  • 9:24 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on Ward Court in the Augusta Heights Community.
  • 10:26 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 33 mile marker in reference to a white Chevy Suburban.

JUNE 22. 2017

  • 1:52 a.m. – A fallen tree was reportedly blocking the roadway at the intersection of West Main and North Jasper Streets.
  • 3:42 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Sunoco Station at 11965 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.
  • 8:36 a.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 in reference to a black Mercedes sedan traveling North between Hardeeville and Ridgeland.
  • 8:47 a.m. – A welfare check was conducted in the parking lot of Harvey’s Grocery Store at 8205 East Main Street in reference to a dog being left in a silver Toyota Camry with no air circulation.
  • 9:52 a.m. – A reckless driver complaint was filed on I-95 North around the 12 mile marker in reference to a group of motorcycles.
  • 10:29 a.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 in reference to a UPS tractor trailer traveling North between Hardeeville and Ridgeland.
  • 11:07 a.m. – Ridgeland Officers traveled to Colleton County where Keith Roosevelt Smith was turned over to their custody and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center after being detained by Walterboro Officers conducting a traffic stop where he was found to be listed as a wanted person by the Ridgeland Police Department.  Smith’s charges stemmed from a December 10th 2014 traffic stop where he was cited for driving without a license 2nd offense.  He was later found guilty of the charge in Ridgeland Municipal Court on January 5th 2015 and placed on a time payment plan to settle the court ordered fines which he failed to comply with resulting in a warrant being issued for his arrest.
  • 11:21 a.m. – A welfare check was conducted at a residence on Wiley Street after a female juvenile runaway was reportedly spotted inside of the home.  April Dawn Damron was reported missing from her home on Fordville Road after leaving through her bedroom window sometime after 9 p.m. on the night of June 19th. She is described as a 16 year old white female standing 5′ 6″ and weighing 120 pounds with blue eyes and shoulder length brown hair.  She is possibly staying somewhere in the Beaufort area in the company of  Billy Joel Wheeler, 31, driving a white 1998 Ford F150 pickup bearing SC tag number NFD-641.  If you have any information on April’s whereabouts please dial 911 or contact the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office at 843-726-7777.

  • 5:59 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 33 mile marker in reference to a silver Nissan Altima.
  • 6:12 p.m. – Clarence J. Washington, 36 of Hardeeville SC, was placed on trespass notice for the business property of the EZ Stop IV Station and Dairy Queen Restaurant at 80 Blue Heron Drive at Management’s request.
  • 6:14 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at Ken’s Tire Service at 10464 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.
  • 6:16 p.m. – A suspicious black male was reported outside of a residence on Third Avenue.
  • 9:43 p.m. – A welfare check was conducted at the Forest Motel at 10504 South Jacob Smart Boulevard after a 911 hang up call was received by Jasper County Emergency Services.
  • 9:54 p.m. – A disturbance was reported at the Gulf Station at 8250 East Main Street after a group of individuals in separate vehicles began arguing in the parking lot area.  All parties left the property without incident prior to Law Enforcement arrival.

JUNE 21, 2017

  • 4:05 a.m. – Ridgeland Officers assisted Jasper County Deputies in responding to a possible burglary in progress at a residence on Bees Creek Road.
  • 8:12 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Puddle Jumpers Day Care Center at 11332 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.
  • 9:33 a.m. – Ridgeland K9 Officers assisted Jasper County Sheriff’s Deputies at Club Pluto at 8812 South Jacob Smart Boulevard after a white male driving a stolen John Deere tractor fled from the vehicle on foot running through the Club Pluto parking area into a wooded area bordering the Mitchellville Community.
  • 10:36 a.m. – A welfare check was conducted at the Subway Restaurant at 8234 East Main Street after a 911 hang up call was received by Jasper County Emergency Services.
  • 2:31 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on Grahamville Road in reference to a blue Ford F150 pickup.
  • 3:20 p.m. – Three males possibly armed with knives were reportedly involved in a fight outside of a residence on Wiley Street.
  • 4:07 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North around the 18 mile marker in reference to a silver Dodge pickup.
  • 5:19 p.m. – A welfare check was conducted in the area of I-95 South around the 21 mile marker after an open line 911 call was received by Jasper County Emergency Services.  A second call was received at 7:23 p.m.
  • 7:19 p.m. – An animal complaint was filed in the Oakridge Trailer Park Community in reference to a small black and gray dog wandering the area.
  • 7:28 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at Ken’s Tire Service at 10464 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.

JUNE 20, 2017

  • 3:18 a.m. – A theft was reported at the Gulf Station at 8250 East Main Street after an undisclosed amount of cash was allegedly stolen from inside of a customer’s vehicle in the parking lot at approximately 1:30 a.m.  Surveillance video is being reviewed for suspect identification and pending charges.
  • 4:40 a.m. – An assault was reported at the Carolina Lodge Motel at 8260 East Main Street after a black female in a white van allegedly brandished a handgun towards another female.
  • 1:12 p.m. – A blue Chevy Silverado pickup, a brown Buick LaCrosse and a green Pontiac Grand Am were involved in a collision at the intersection of West Main and South Green Streets.  No injuries were reported.
  • 1:36 p.m. – Jon Lamar Brantley, 55 of Ridgeland, was placed on trespass notice for the business property of the Everything’s a Dollar Store at 8120 East Main Street at Management’s request.
  • 7:49 p.m. – An assault was reported after three black males, one armed with a handgun, allegedly threatened three male complainant’s at Turpin Park at 901 North Logan Street.  Surveillance video is being reviewed for suspect identification and pending charges.
  • 7:58 p.m. – An animal complaint was filed in reference to a stray gray and white pit bull roaming the area of Fordville Road.
  • 11:11 p.m. – A silver Nissan Altima was stopped for speeding on Old House Road around the Good Hope intersection where driver Jameel Muhammad Rasool Beaton was found to be operating under the influence of alcohol as well as being in possession of a quantity of cocaine and Tramadol.  He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center by South Carolina Highway Patrol Officers who initiated the DUI charges as Merritt’s Towing took possession of the vehicle.

JUNE 19, 2017

  • 12:15 a.m. – A welfare check was conducted on a male customer at the Waffle House Restaurant at 8185 East Main Street after he was found sleeping and unresponsive.
  • 2:44 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Nimmer Turf Offices at 524 Nimmer Turf Road.
  • 2:58 a.m. – Ridgeland Officers traveled to the Jasper County Detention Center at 12008 North Jacob Smart Boulevard in service of an outstanding warrant against inmate Michael Keith Miller following his arrest by Jasper County Sheriff’s Deputies for possession of crack cocaine during a traffic stop on Wall Street. Miller’s charges with RPD stemmed from a September 13th 2016 traffic stop at the intersection of Highway 17 and Main Street where he was cited for driving without a license.  He later failed to appear in Ridgeland Municipal Court on October 31st to answer to the charge where he was found guilty during a trial in absence and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
  • 3:57 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the DaVita Dialysis Center at 112 Weathersbee Street.
  • 6:19 a.m. – A welfare check was conducted at the Ridgeland High School football field at 456 Grays Highway after a 911 hang up call was received by Jasper County Emergency Services.
  • 7:54 a.m. – A vehicle property damage report was filed at The Siesta Motel at 10530 South Jacob Smart Boulevard stemming from a previously unreported June 18th collision on I-95.
  • 9:46 a.m. – An animal complaint was filed on First Avenue in reference to chickens from a neighboring home wandering the area.
  • 10:55 a.m. – A welfare check was conducted on a female pedestrian lying by the roadway at the exit 21 I-95 South entrance ramp.
  • 10:59 a.m. – A harassment complaint was filed at Logan Lane Apartments at 544 South Logan Street.
  • 2:52 p.m. – A legally parked and unoccupied Jeep Liberty was reportedly struck by a white SUV in the parking lot of the Rite Aid Pharmacy at 8225 East Main Street resulting in the suspect vehicle leaving the scene without reporting the collision.  No injuries were reported.
  • 3:34 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 in reference to a white tractor trailer traveling North between Hardeeville and Ridgeland.
  • 4:25 p.m. – A welfare check was conducted at a residence on Wiley Street stemming from a report of a 34 year old female possibly ingesting an overdose of prescription medication.
  • 7:00 p.m. – A suspicious white female was reported outside of a residence on North Green Street.
  • 8:11 p.m. – A domestic dispute between two males was reported at a residence on Hagin Drive.
  • 8:58 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on Highway 462 at the Roseland Road intersection in reference to a motorcycle traveling in excess of 100 mph.
  • 10:13 p.m. – A silver passenger car and a gray pickup were reportedly racing on I-95 North around the 10 mile marker.

  • 12:01 a.m. – A noise complaint was filed on Chelsea Lane in reference to loud music coming from a neighboring home.
  • 2:21 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Short Stop BP Station at 10728 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.
  • 2:35 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at Ken’s Tire Service at 10464 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.
  • 3:10 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 in reference to a red Peterbilt tractor trailer traveling North between Hardeeville and Ridgeland.
  • 5:25 p.m. – A welfare check was conducted on a white female inside of blue minivan in the parking lot of the Ridgeland Coin Laundry at 10246 South Jacob Smart Boulevard after a passerby observed her to be visibly upset.
  • 5:46 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 20 mile marker in reference to a silver Volvo sedan.
  • 5:57 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 38 mile marker in reference to a blue Dodge Charger Hellcat.
  • 6:27 p.m. – Ernest Rivers Mitchell was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center after Officers discovered him lying on the ground intoxicated in the parking lot of the EZ Stop IV Station at 80 Blue Heron Drive.
  • 7:40 p.m. – A verbal domestic dispute between a male and a female was reported in the parking lot of Baytree Apartments at 107 First Avenue.
  • 11:43 p.m. – A white Hyundai 350L was stopped in the parking lot of Ken’s Tire Service at 10464 South Jacob Smart Boulevard after Officers observed the vehicle passenger side tires mounting the sidewalk in front of the Ridgeland Coin Laundry.  Driver Randi Nicole Calabrese was ultimately found to be operating under the influence of alcohol as well as being in possession of an open container at which point she struck the arresting Officer in the face while attempting to resist being taken into custody which resulted in an additional charge.  She was transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as GJ’s Towing took possession of the vehicle.

JUNE 17, 2017

  • 12:04 a.m. – A welfare check was conducted on a 16 year old male juvenile at Baytree Apartments at 107 First Avenue after he was allegedly not at the location where he was assumed to be.  The complainant refused to cooperate with responding Officers attempting to gather information.
  • 12:54 a.m. – A white Lincoln Town Car was stopped for traveling 30 mph above the posted speed limit at the intersection of Tillman Road and Heron Crossing Drive where driver Abdus Samad Ikram Muhammad was found to be in possession of an open container of liquor.  He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as Elite Towing took possession of the vehicle.
  • 2:11 a.m. – A suspicious white female pedestrian was reported on Grays Highway at the Hagin Drive intersection.
  • 6:40 a.m. – A verbal domestic dispute between a male and a female was reported in the parking lot area of the Ridgeland Weekly Rentals at 67 West Woodlawn Street.
  • 10:19 a.m. – A suspicious person was reported in the parking lot of the Star Point BP Station at 11122 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.
  • 11:15 a.m. – A white Freightliner FedEx tractor trailer and a silver Chevy Silverado pickup were involved in a collision on I-95 South around the 23 mile marker.  No injuries were reported.
  • 12:10 p.m. – A black Ford F150 pickup and a silver Honda Accord were involved in a collision in the parking lot of the Advance Auto Parts Store at 10424 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.  No injuries were reported.
  • 2:09 p.m. – A property damage complaint was filed after a property owner on East Frontage Road discovered a cut lock on a gate surrounding their property.
  • 2:18 p.m. – A harassment complaint was filed at Logan Lane Apartments after a female was reportedly followed to the location by another vehicle which then left the area prior to Law Enforcement arrival.
  • 2:45 p.m. – A silver Mercedes 320 and a black Honda Civic were involved in a collision on Old House Road near the Summer Hill intersection.  No injuries were reported.
  • 4:23 p.m. – An unsecured door was discovered at the Ridgeland School at 250 Jaguar Trail.  There was no evidence of forced entry or indications of criminal activity.
  • 5:11 p.m. – A harassment complaint was filed at a residence on Wiley Street in reference to unwanted telephone calls.
  • 6:09 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 33 mile marker in reference to a black Chevy Suburban.
  • 9:02 p.m. – A noise complaint was filed on First Avenue in reference to loud music coming from a neighboring home.
  • 10:07 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 28 mile marker in reference to a burgundy Chevy Impala.

  • 1:28 a.m. – A theft was reported at The Forest Motel at 10504 South Jacob Smart Boulevard after an undisclosed amount of currency was stolen from a male tenant’s room when he left a female acquaintance alone inside.
  • 1:50 a.m. – A reckless driver was reported on Highway 462 at the Knowles Island Road intersection in reference to a sport utility vehicle.
  • 2:27 a.m. – A suspicious vehicle was reported outside of a residence on North Green Street.
  • 4:20 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at Ken’s Tire Service at 10464 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.
  • 5:33 a.m. – A report of two possibly intoxicated black males causing a disturbance was filed at the Gulf Station at 8250 East Main Street.  The subjects left the area in a tan Chevy Silverado pickup as responding Officers arrived on scene but were ultimately stopped on I-95 South around the 19 mile marker where driver Dontay Ramone Frost was found to be listed as a wanted person by the Hampton County Sheriff’s Office stemming from an outstanding 2016 driving under suspension bench warrant.  He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as the vehicle was released to a licensed passenger.
  • 6:57 a.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 in reference to a white tractor trailer traveling North between Hardeeville and Ridgeland.
  • 7:58 a.m. – A harassment complaint was filed at Heron Crossing Apartments at 72 Heron Crossing Drive stemming from an ongoing dispute between two females.
  • 8:31 a.m. – An intoxicated male subject reportedly made threatening statements to another male at the Ridgeland Weekly Rentals at 67 West Woodlawn Street.
  • 11:19 a.m. – A larceny was reported at the Gulf Station at 8250 East Main Street after a male subject went over his prepaid amount while pumping fuel on June 13th ultimately filling his tank as well as the tank of a female acquaintance driving a separate vehicle.  Surveillance footage is being reviewed for suspect identification and pending charges.
  • 1:35 p.m. – A domestic dispute was reported in reference to a male and a female traveling North on I-95 around the 22 mile marker inside of a silver mini van.
  • 2:33 p.m. – A white Toyota Corolla was involved in a single vehicle collision on I-95 South around the 20 mile marker after the driver lost control and struck the center median guard wires.  No injuries were reported.
  • 3:06 p.m. – A passenger car suffered front end damage after striking a piece of tire debris in the roadway on I-95 South around the 19 mile marker.  No injuries were reported.
  • 3:57 p.m. – A welfare check was conducted on an eleven year old female juvenile at the Plantation Inn Motel at 11433 North Jacob Smart Boulevard after a relative became concerned for her well being.
  • 6:46 p.m. – A welfare check was conducted at the Campers & Fun Stuff sales lot at 11077 North Jacob Smart Boulevard in reference to a RV with it’s hazard lights activated.
  • 9:29 p.m. – A silver Hyundai Elantra was reportedly traveling South on I-95 around the 17 mile marker with no headlights in operation.
  • 9:31 p.m. – Two suspicious white males were reported outside of a residence on Oakridge South in the Oakridge Trailer Park Community.
  • 9:40 p.m. – A legally parked and unoccupied black Volkswagen Bug was struck by an unknown vehicle in the parking lot of the South State Bank at 10671 South Jacob Smart Boulevard at which point the suspect vehicle left the area without reporting the collision.  Surveillance video is being reviewed for offender identification and pending charges.
  • 10:00 p.m. – Ridgeland Officers assisted Jasper County Sheriff’s Deputies in responding to a large disturbance involving numerous individuals outside of a residence on Orange Grove Road in the Mitchellville area where Broddrick Qwanta Lee, 28 of Ridgeland, and Unique Antoine Jackson, 28 of Ridgeland, were both ultimately placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center under charges of public disorderly conduct.

  • 6:49 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Spay & Neuter Animal Clinic at 21 Getsinger Street.
  • 7:34 a.m. – A white male pedestrian with a dog was reportedly walking on I-95 North around the 23 mile marker.
  • 10:32 a.m. – Four suspicious males were reported in a wooded area at the I-95 Southbound truck parking area around the 17 mile marker.
  • 2:34 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 33 mile marker in reference to a gray Honda Civic.
  • 4:42 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North around the 22 mile marker in reference to a black Audi SUV.
  • 7:43 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at Ken’s Tire Service at 10464 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.
  • 11:46 p.m. – A large amount of currency was reportedly stolen from a complainant at the Econo Lodge Motel at 511 James Taylor Drive stemming from a domestic dispute between a male and a female.  

JUNE 14, 2017

  • 2:19 a.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North around the 13 mile marker in reference to a black and silver tractor trailer.
  • 4:17 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at Ken’s Tire Service at 10464 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.
  • 6:46 a.m. – A suspicious white male was reportedly sleeping on the porch of the Blue Heron Nature Center at 321 Bailey Lane where responding Officers ultimately identified William Woodrow Tubbs as the white male captured on surveillance video stealing items from the Family Dollar Store at 73 South Green Street on June 13th.  He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.
  • 10:37 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on McTeer Street.
  • 12:36 p.m. – An abandoned bicycle was discovered by the roadside on I-95 North around the 22 mile marker.
  • 1:12 p.m. – A harassment complaint was filed by a resident at Logan Lane Apartments at 544 South Logan Street stemming from an ongoing dispute between two females.
  • 3:35 p.m. – A suspicious juvenile female was reported outside of a residence on Shadetree Street in the Carters Mill Estates Community.
  • 6:18 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Ridgeland Family Dentistry Office at 10832 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.
  • 7:45 p.m. – A white GMC Sierra pickup was struck by a black Chevy Tahoe in the parking lot of the Pizza Bella Restaurant at 8196 East Main Street.  The Tahoe then left the area without reporting the collision but was soon after spotted by responding Officers on Highway 278 where a traffic stop was conducted and the driver was escorted back to the scene of the collision.  No injuries were reported.
  • 10:31 p.m. – A black female was reportedly causing a disturbance in the parking lot of Logan Lane Apartments at 544 South Logan Street where responding Officers ultimately placed Elouise Anderson under arrest after finding her to be intoxicated as well as being in possession of an open container of liquor.  She was transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.

JUNE 13, 2017

  • 12:16 a.m. – A tan Buick Enclave was stopped for speeding on I-95 South around the 16 mile marker where driver Thomas Henry Wilcox III was found to be operating under a suspended Florida driver’s license.  He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as the vehicle was released to a licensed passenger.
  • 1:56 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at Ken’s Tire Service at 10464 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.
  • 5:03 a.m. – A welfare check was conducted on a 76 year old female resident at Baytree Apartments at 107 First Avenue after she suffered a fall inside of her home.
  • 9:02 a.m. – A red Chevy Tahoe was stopped for a lane change violation on I-95 South at the exit 22 interchange where passenger Dinnis Paull Sifford, 42 of Oak Park MI, was found to be in possession of a quantity of marijuana.  He was cited for the offense and assigned a court date prior to leaving the area.
  • 10:26 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on Bees Creek Road.
  • 11:15 a.m. – An animal complaint was filed in reference to a small puppy running in and out of traffic on East Main Street.
  • 11:25 a.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 25 mile marker in reference to a brown tractor trailer.
  • 12:39 p.m. – Two white males were reportedly arguing on South Jacob Smart Boulevard near the East Adams Street intersection.
  • 1:35 p.m. – A complaint was filed by a subject at the Star Point BP Station at 11122 North Jacob Smart Boulevard in reference to previously unreported threats made against him on June 12th.
  • 3:56 p.m. – Ridgeland Officers traveled to the Beaufort County Detention Center at 100 Ribaut Road in Beaufort SC where inmate Xavier Kendrell Rivers was turned over to their custody in reference to an outstanding warrant issued by the Ridgeland Police Department and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.  Rivers’ charges stemmed from a March 27 2017 traffic stop on Old House Road where he was arrested after being found in possession of marijuana.  He later failed to appear in Ridgeland Municipal Court to answer to the charge of May 1st where he was found guilty during a trial in absence and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
  • 4:47 p.m. – A harassment complaint was filed at the Dollar General Store at 8123 East Main Street stemming from an ongoing issue with a female customer causing problems with the on duty Manager.
  • 4:49 p.m. – A welfare check was conducted at a residence on West Main Street after the caller was unable to get in contact with the female homeowner for an extended period of time.
  • 5:07 p.m. – A white male was reportedly asking customers and passers by for money in the parking lot of the Gulf Station at 8250 East Main Street.
  • 6:50 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North around the 19 mile marker in reference to a white Freightliner tractor trailer.
  • 6:55 p.m. – A black male in a white Chevy Impala was reportedly asking customers and passers by for money in the parking lot of the Burger King Restaurant at 8257 East Main Street.  The subject left the area prior to Law Enforcement arrival and traveled to the Family Dollar Store at 73 South Green Street where he again engaged in the same activity.
  • 7:05 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 32 mile marker in reference to a dark colored Oldsmobile sedan.
  • 9:57 p.m. – A shoplifting was reported at the Family Dollar Store at 73 South Green Street after a white male was captured on surveillance video stealing store items.  The footage is being reviewed for suspect identification and pending charges.
  • 10:40 p.m. – A welfare check was conducted on a male caller in the parking lot of the Piggly Wiggly Grocery Store at 10847 North Jacob Smart Boulevard after he reportedly received threats against him from a male acquaintance stemming from an earlier incident.
  • 10:42 p.m. – A welfare check was conducted at a residence on Nimmer Turf Road after a 911 hang up call was received by Jasper County Emergency Services.

  • 3:02 a.m. – Patrol Officers discovered an open gate at the Green Street Storage Facility at 261 South Green Street.
  • 7:11 a.m. – An orange Jeep Patriot and a black Hyundai Sonata were involved in a collision on I-95 South around the 17 mile marker.  No injuries were reported.
  • 7:37 a.m. – A suspicious gray GMC pickup was reported at the Jasper County Detention Center at 12008 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.
  • 8:06 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Jasper County Council on Aging at 444 Wise Street.
  • 9:37 a.m. – A harassment complaint was filed by a female subject at the Short Stop BP Station at 10728 South Jacob Smart Boulevard stemming from a previously unreported incident.
  • 9:38 a.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North around the 19 mile marker in reference to a black Ford Explorer.
  • 12:30 p.m. – A black female was reportedly asking customers and passers by for money in the parking lot of the Piggly Wiggly Grocery Store at 10847 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.
  • 1:25 p.m. – A verbal domestic dispute between a male and a female was reported outside of a residence on First Avenue.
  • 1:26 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 28 mile marker in reference to a white tractor trailer.
  • 5:01 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported in front of the Burger King Restaurant at 8257 East Main Street in reference to a silver BMW convertible.
  • 5:59 p.m. – A suspicious white substance was discovered inside of a discarded baby food jar in front of the Palmetto Veterinary Hospital at 409 South Green Street.  Responding Officers determined the substance not to be drug related.
  • 8:48 p.m. – A green Jeep was stopped for speeding on I-95 North around the 19 mile marker where driver Michael Jeffery Saracco was found to be operating under a suspended Illinois driver’s license.  He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as the vehicle was released to a licensed passenger.
  • 8:56 p.m. – A welfare check was conducted at a residence on Oak Plantation Drive after an unsecured door was discovered.  There were no persons discovered inside and no indications of criminal activity.
  • 9:19 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on Brandon Cove in the North Ridge Community.
  • 11:39 p.m. – A 41 year old male was transported by EMS from The Palms Motel at 10735 South Jacob Smart Boulevard to Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeville after ingesting an overdose of prescription medication.
  • 11:54 p.m. – A welfare check was conducted on a 32 year old male subject at the intersection of Highway 462 and Old House Road after he reportedly jumped from a moving vehicle and threatened to do harm to himself.

JUNE 11, 2017

  • 12:28 a.m. – A suspicious black male riding a bicycle was reported in the KFC Restaurant parking lot at 8146 East Main Street.
  • 2:07 a.m. – A harassment complaint was filed at the EZ Stop IV Station at 80 Blue Heron Drive after a female customer was reportedly propositioned several times in the parking lot area by a black male driving a white GMC van with a ladder rack.  The suspect left the area prior to Law Enforcement arrival but was shortly after located on First Avenue where a traffic stop was initiated and Dexter Leon Gray, 41 of Tillman SC, was cited and assigned a court date under the charge of harassment as well as being placed on trespass notice for the business property of the EZ Stop IV at Management’s request.

    4:10 a.m. – A disturbance was reported at the Waffle House Restaurant at 8185 East Main Street after a female customer allegedly made threatening statements towards another female inside of the business.

  • 7:02 a.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 19 mile marker in reference to a white Volvo SUV.
  • 11:17 a.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 33 mile marker in reference to a white Ford F150 pickup.
  • 12:28 p.m. – A property damage report was filed at a residence on First Avenue after the caller’s estranged spouse kicked the front door of the home.
  • 1:58 p.m. – RPD Officers traveled to the Ridgeland Correctional Institution at 5 Correctional Road to assist in transporting Leontae Marie Veliz to the Jasper County Detention Center following her arrest by Prison Officials after being found in possession of a quantity of marijuana during visitation hours.

  • 3:21 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 26 mile marker in reference to a black Nissan Altima.
  • 3:27 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 25 mile marker in reference to a gray Honda mini van.
  • 10:33 p.m. – A suspicious gray Nissan Pathfinder was reported at the intersection of Fordville and Captain Bill Roads where responding Deputies discovered driver Luis Organis Torres to be listed as a wanted person by the Ridgeland Police Department.  He was placed under arrest and turned over to the custody of Ridgeland Officers for transport to the Jasper County Detention Center.  Torres’ charges stemmed from an August 12th 2016 traffic stop where he was cited for driving without a license.  He later failed to appear in Ridgeland Municipal Court on August 29th to answer to the charge where he was found guilty during a trial in absence and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
  • 10:45 p.m. – A verbal dispute between a male and a female was reported at The Palms Motel at 10735 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.

JUNE 10, 2017

  • 12:47 a.m. – A silver Ford Festiva was involved in a single vehicle collision on I-95 North at the exit 21 interchange after two tires simultaneously blew out.  No injuries were reported.
  • 8:23 a.m. – Two suspicious persons were reported at The Palms Motel at 10735 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.
  • 11:05 a.m. – A property damage complaint was filed at the Jasper County Detention Center at 12008 North Jacob Smart Boulevard after inmate Sardarius Harsone Smith maliciously caused damage to a television and a microwave oven resulting in additional charges being brought against him.  Smith has been held at the facility since his March 9th arrest by Jasper County Sheriff’s Deputies under the charge of attempted murder.
  • 12:09 p.m. – A group of suspicious persons was reported at the Ridgeland Alternative School at 456 Grays Highway.
  • 1:45 p.m. – A welfare check was conducted at a residence on Shadetree Street in the Carters Mill Estates Community after a 911 hang up call was received by Jasper County Emergency Services.
  • 5:43 p.m. – Two suspicious black males were reportedly knocking on doors and posing as pest control employees at Heron Crossing Apartments at 72 Heron Crossing Drive.
  • 6:26 p.m. – A diaper bag was reportedly stolen from inside of a vehicle parked outside of a residence on Carters Mill Road.
  • 6:41 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the State Farm Insurance Office at 10840 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.
  • 6:43 p.m. – A verbal domestic dispute between a male and a female was reported at Logan Lane Apartments at 544 South Logan Street.
  • 7:24 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on Kato Bay Road in reference to a GMC pickup.
  • 7:51 p.m. – A wallet was found lying on the roadway on East Main Street in the exit 21 business area.  The item was ultimately returned to the rightful owner in the Oakridge Trailer Park Community.
  • 8:21 p.m. – A welfare check was conducted in the area of Henry Lawton Road and Firefly Drive after a 911 hang up call was received by Jasper County Emergency Services.
  • 8:27 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on Sailfish Circle in the Carters Mill Estates Community in reference to a burgundy passenger car.
  • 9:53 p.m. – A silver Chevy Impala and a red Chevy 3500 pickup were involved in a collision in front of the Burger King Restaurant at 8257 East Main Street.  No injuries were reported.
  • 11:57 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 34 mile marker in reference to a white Chevy pickup.

JUNE 9, 2017

  • 12:59 a.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 34 mile marker in reference to a white Toyota Tundra.
  • 2:25 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Ridgeland Family Practice at 109 South Green Street.
  • 3:59 a.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North around the 14 mile marker in reference to a gray 4 door passenger car.
  • 11:31 a.m. – A welfare check was conducted at a residence on East Main Street in reference to the whereabouts of the homeowner’s children.
  • 11:49 a.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 33 mile marker in reference to a black pickup.
  • 11:56 a.m. – A complaint was filed in reference to a black female inside of a white Ford Taurus selling perfume and cologne in the parking lot of the Short Stop BP Station at 10728 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.
  • 1:32 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 27 mile marker in reference to a blue Honda Civic.
  • 2:19 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on McTeer Street.

  • 8:01 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on East Woodlawn Street.
  • 12:15 p.m. – An animal complaint was filed in the Oakridge Trailer Park Community in reference to a stray pit bull roaming the area.
  • 1:45 p.m. – A welfare check was conducted on a 37 year old female resident on Third Avenue after a relative was unable to make contact with her for an extended period of time.
  • 1:59 p.m. – A verbal dispute between two females was reported at the Short Stop BP Station at 10728 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.
  • 5:46 p.m. – A suspicious person was reported inside of a black Nissan pickup in the parking lot of the Family Dollar Store at 73 South Green Street.
  • 6:34 p.m. – A suspicious white male pedestrian was reported on East Woodlawn Street.
  • 8:05 p.m. – A verbal domestic dispute between a male and a female was reported outside of the Dollar General Store at 8123 East Main Street.
  • 9:27 p.m. – A report of illegal drug activity was filed in reference to a rented room at the Carolina Lodge Motel at 8260 East Main Street.
  • 10:40 p.m. – A suspicious white vehicle was reported outside of a residence on Bees Creek Road.
  • 11:47 p.m. – A verbal domestic dispute between a male and a female inside of a black passenger car was reported at the intersection of South Green Street and South Jacob Smart Boulevard.

JUNE 7, 2017

  • 2:09 a.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North around the 21 mile marker in reference to a brown station wagon.
  • 7:02 a.m. – A white Toyota Tundra was involved in a near single vehicle collision on I-95 North around the 17 mile marker after the driver lost control and left the roadway coming to a stop in the center median.  No injuries were reported.
  • 7:12 a.m. – A theft was reported at a residence on Ward Court in the Augusta Heights Community after the homeowner discovered a wallet missing from inside of their vehicle with the suspect having entered by smashing the front passenger window.  A review of surveillance video positively identified Charles Garvin Ingram as the person responsible for the crime committed just after 4 a.m. at which point a warrant was issued for his arrest.  He was shortly after taken into custody at his residence on Ingram Lane and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.
  • 9:56 a.m. – A race car body stolen from Eric’s Automotive in 1999 was recovered from a private seller in Savannah GA after being spotted in an Ebay listing by the original owner.
  • 2:35 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 26 mile marker in reference to a white Toyota Camry.
  • 3:00 p.m. – A black GMC Yukon and a gray Ford F150 pickup were involved in a collision in front of the Ridgeland Post Office at 7554 West Main Street.  No injuries were reported.
  • 4:28 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on Newlin Drive.
  • 5:18 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Ridgeland Family Medical Center at 1520 Grays Highway.
  • 5:28 p.m. – A gray Chevy Traverse was involved in a single vehicle collision on I-95 South around the 17 mile marker after the driver lost control and struck the center median guard wires.  No injuries were reported.
  • 6:29 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on East Wilson Street.
  • 9:48 p.m. – A suspicious white female was reported at the Family Dollar Store at 73 South Green Street.

JUNE 6, 2017

  • 12:57 a.m. – A suspicious male riding a bicycle was reported on Brandon Cove in the North Ridge Community.
  • 5:28 a.m. – A male and a female were involved in a domestic dispute at the Waffle House Restaurant at 8185 East Main Street.
  • 7:01 a.m. – A white Pontiac Grand Prix was turned over to Blatchley’s Towing for removal from the area of Nuna Rock Road after being found abandoned in a roadside drainage ditch.
  • 8:41 a.m. – A female was reportedly operating a Chrysler Town & Country mini van with no valid insurance coverage on Grays Highway.
  • 11:17 a.m. – A suspicious gold Lexus was reported on West Main Street.
  • 12:17 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Tillman Construction Office at 7596 West Main Street.
  • 1:05 p.m. – A black male was reportedly asking customers and passers by for money in the parking lot of the Short Stop BP Station at 10728 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.
  • 1:33 p.m. – A male and a female were involved in a verbal altercation in the parking lot of Logan Lane Apartments at 544 South Logan Street regarding an incident on Highway 336 around the Wagon Branch area where the female allegedly pulled out in front of the male as he was traveling East.
  • 1:53 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on McTeer Street.  A second activation occurred at 2:22 p.m.
  • 7:50 p.m. – Ridgeland Officers traveled to the Hampton County Detention Center at 411 Cemetery Road in Varnville SC where inmate Justin Jaquell Holmes was turned over to their custody in reference to an outstanding warrant issued by the Ridgeland Police Department and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.  Holmes’ charges stemmed from an April 11th 2017 traffic stop where he was cited for a no driver’s license violation.  He then failed to appear in Ridgeland Municipal Court to answer to the charges on April 24th where he was found guilty during a trial in absence and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
  • 9:31 p.m. – Ridgeland Officers assisted Jasper County Deputies in responding a report of several gunshots being fired at a vehicle repossession agent in a Kia Sould by a black male driving a black Ford Fusion on Bees Creek Road and Captain Bill Road.  No injuries were reported.
  • 9:38 p.m. – A male and a female were involved in a verbal domestic dispute in the parking lot area of The Palms Motel at 10735 South Jacob Smart Boulevard. A second complaint was received at 9:52 p.m.

JUNE 5, 2017

  • 10:41 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Bobop’s Convenience Store at 8548 Grahamville Road.
  • 12:09 p.m. – A property damage report was filed at the Jasper County Detention Center at 12008 North Jacob Smart Boulevard after inmate Aljaquan Lamont Hugue maliciously caused damage to a fire sprinkler inside of the facility.  He was charged by responding Officers with the offense.
  • 1:00 p.m. – A civil dispute over payment of an outstanding bill was reported at the Waffle House Restaurant at 8185 East Main Street.
  • 2:17 p.m. – A cell phone was reported stolen from a residence on North Green Street.
  • 2:57 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Jasper County Council on Aging at 444 Wise Street.
  • 4:20 p.m. – A noise complaint was filed at Heron Crossing Apartments at 72 Heron Crossing Drive in reference to loud music from a vehicle in the parking lot area.
  • 7:30 p.m. – A suspicious silver Honda passenger car was reported on Oak Plantation Drive.
  • 8:46 p.m. – A shoplifting was reported at the Family Dollar Store at 73 South Green Street after a white female allegedly stolen clothing items before leaving the business prior to Law Enforcement arrival.  Surveillance video is being reviewed for pending charges.
  • 11:09 p.m. – A white passenger car was reportedly operating without headlights while traveling North on I-95 around the 15 mile marker.

JUNE 4, 2017

  • 8:48 a.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 30 mile marker in reference to a tractor trailer.
  • 1:03 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 28 mile marker in reference to a gold Dodge Durango.
  • 1:37 p.m. – A wallet was reported stolen from a female customer at Harvey’s Grocery Store at 8205 East Main Street.
  • 2:32 p.m. – A suspicious male was reported at Turpin Park at 901 North Logan Street.
  • 3:26 p.m. – A black male juvenile was reportedly walking alone on Bees Creek Road around the Fordville Road intersection.
  • 8:23 p.m. – A property damage report was filed at the Shell Station at 8309 East Main Street after a black female customer began breaking store items when asked for identification to purchase tobacco products before leaving the area prior to Law Enforcement arrival.  Surveillance video is being reviewed for suspect identification and pending charges.
  • 9:04 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 33 mile marker in reference to a white passenger car.
  • 9:31 p.m. – A domestic dispute between two males was reported at a residence on Fifth Avenue.

JUNE 3, 2017

  • 12:47 a.m. – A suspicious white passenger car was reported in the parking lot of the South State Bank at 10671 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.
  • 12:55 a.m. – A welfare check was conducted on a male subject at The Siesta Motel at 10530 South Jacob Smart Boulevard stemming from a possible shortage of prescription medications.
  • 1:19 a.m. – An animal complaint was filed in reference to a horse standing in the roadway on Highway 462 by the Zion Oak Grove Baptist Church.
  • 2:24 a.m. – A burgundy and black beach cruiser bicycle was reported stolen from the parking lot area of the Ridgeland Coin Laundry at 10246 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.  Surveillance video is being reviewed for suspect identification and pending charges.
  • 3:54 a.m. – A larceny was reported at the Waffle House Restaurant at 8185 East Main Street after a black female left the business without paying an outstanding bill.
  • 3:58 a.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 33 mile marker in reference to a white SUV.
  • 9:15 a.m. – A suspicious white male was reported at the McDonald’s Restaurant at 8548 Grahamville Road.
  • 9:56 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Regions Bank at 11004 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.
  • 10:56 a.m. – A red Chrysler Pacifica, a red Honda Civic, a blue Jeep Cherokee, a blue Toyota Highlander and a white Chevy Tahoe were involved in a collision on I-95 North around the 21 mile marker.  No injuries were reported.
  • 12:41 p.m. – A gray Toyota Camry and a silver Ford Fiesta were involved in a collision at the intersection of Jacob Smart Boulevard and West Main Street. Minor injuries were reported.
  • 2:57 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Bobops Convenience Store at 8548 Grahamville Road.
  • 3:42 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 27 mile marker in reference to a black tractor trailer.
  • 4:48 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 in reference to a blue Chevy SUV traveling North between Hardeeville and Ridgeland.
  • 5:36 p.m. – A yellow Toyota Scion was struck from behind at the intersection of East Main and South Logan Street by a black male driving a silver Dodge Ram pickup with Tennessee tags which then fled the area traveling South on Logan Street.  Surveillance footage is being reviewed for suspect identification and pending charges.
  • 8:10 p.m. – A welfare check was conducted at Turpin Park after an open line 911 call was received by Jasper County Emergency Services.
  • 9:03 p.m. – A suspicious Hispanic male was reportedly asking tenants at the Econo Lodge Motel at 511 James Taylor Drive to sell him cocaine.  He left the area prior to Law Enforcement arrival.
  • 10:26 p.m. – A fallen tree impeded traffic flow for a short time at the intersection of Old House and Summer Hill Roads.

JUNE 2, 2017

  • 1:16 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on First Avenue.
  • 7:05 a.m. – A suspicious white male was reported at the SCDOT Maintenance Yard at 150 East Woodlawn Street.
  • 7:48 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Ridgeland Boys & Girls Club at 913 Grays Highway.
  • 8:01 a.m. – A gray Chevy Traverse and a white Chevy Sonic were involved in a collision at the intersection of Grays Highway and Jaguar Trail.  No injuries were reported.
  • 9:38 a.m. – An animal complaint was filed on Shadetree Street in the Carters Mill Estates Community in reference to a stray pit bull roaming the area.
  • 11:16 a.m. – A welfare check was conducted on a dog inside of a red Dodge pickup parked outside of the Jasper County Magistrates Office at 967 West Adams Street.
  • 11:36 a.m. – A male customer reportedly made threats towards employees at the Piggly Wiggly Grocery Store at 10847 North Jacob Smart Boulevard during a dispute over a refund.
  • 12:13 p.m. – A 6 year old female was found walking alone at the intersection of First Avenue and Owens Street after getting off of the school bus at Baytree Apartments.  The child was turned over to the custody of her parents who worked nearby.
  • 3:27 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North around the 12 mile marker in reference to a white Toyota Rav4.
  • 4:11 p.m. – A blue Chevy Silverado pickup and a white Nissan Altima were involved in a collision at the intersection of East Main Street and North Jacob Smart Boulevard.  No injuries were reported.
  • 5:03 p.m. – A welfare check was conducted on a dog left inside of a parked vehicle in front of Harvey’s Grocery Store at 8205 East Main Street.
  • 5:36 p.m. – A theft was reported at the Econo Lodge Motel at 511 James Taylor Drive regarding a pair of boots belonging to a female tenant.
  • 6:25 p.m. – A harassment complaint was filed at the KFC Restaurant at 8146 East Main Street where responding Officers placed Jon Lamar Brantley, 55 of Ridgeland, on trespass notice for the business property at Management’s request.
  • 7:24 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the DaVita Dialysis Clinic at 112 Weathersbee Street.
  • 8:42 p.m. – Two females were reportedly involved in a dispute behind the Ridgeland Alternative School at 456 Grays Highway.
  • 10:41 p.m. – Ridgeland Officers assisted South Carolina Highway Patrol conducting a traffic stop in front of the Bank of Walterboro at 8058 East Main Street where driver  Amber Regina Gray, 26 of Ridgeland, was found to be operating under a suspended South Carolina driver’s license as well as being possession of a quantity of marijuana.  Further information revealed her to be listed as a wanted person by the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office stemming from a previous failure to appear bench warrant.  She was ultimately placed under arrest by Highway Patrol Officers and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.

  • 8:48 a.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North around the 22 mile marker in reference to a gray Ford pickup.
  • 8:58 a.m. – A mailbox at a residence on Bailey Lane was reportedly damaged by a vehicle which then fled the area without reporting the collision.
  • 9:05 a.m. – A black Toyota Corolla was stopped for speeding on I-95 South around the 19 mile marker where driver Markus Antoine Oliphant, 21 of Wrens GA, was found to be in possession of a quantity of marijuana.  He was cited for the offenses and assigned a court date prior to leaving the area.
  • 9:20 a.m. – A welfare check was conducted at a residence on Wise Street after an out of state relative was unable to get in contact with the male homeowner for 2 weeks.
  • 1:21 p.m. – A complaint was filed at Heron Crossing Apartments at 72 Heron Crossing Drive in reference to tenants washing cars in the parking lot area.
  • 2:50 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 32 mile marker in reference to a tractor trailer.
  • 5:39 p.m. – A white male pedestrian was reportedly walking on the entrance ramp at the I-95 North exit 21 interchange.
  • 6:24 p.m. – A welfare check was conducted at a residence on Nimmer Turf Road after a 911 hang up call was received by Jasper County Emergency Services.
  • 7:17 p.m. – A property damage report was filed at the Jasper County Detention Center at 12008 North Jacob Smart Boulevard after inmate Wesley Alan Sivak tore a telephone receiver from the wall.  A warrant affidavit was then filed against him by responding Officers under the charge of malicious injury to property. Sivak was initially being held under charges of DUI and leaving the scene of a collision following his arrest by Hardeeville Officers just after 1 p.m.
  • 10:35 p.m. – A domestic dispute between a male and a female was reported at Baytree Apartments at 107 First Avenue.
  • 11:02 p.m. – A white Chevy Malibu and a white Dodge Charger were involved in a collision in the parking lot of the EZ Stop IV Station at 80 Blue Heron Drive.  No injuries were reported.
  • 11:34 p.m. – A suspicious black male was reported at the Quality Inn Motel at 221 James Taylor Drive.
