THE FOLLOWING INCIDENTS ARE AN ACCOUNT OF CALLS AND CASES RESPONDED TO BY OFFICERS OF THE RIDGELAND POLICE DEPARTMENT. THESE CASES ARE CLOSED OR CURRENTLY UNDER INVESTIGATION. MAY 31, 2017

  • 1:16 a.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North around the 18 mile marker in reference to a white Ford F250 pickup.
  • 4:47 a.m. – A male and a female were reportedly arguing outside of the O’Reilly Auto Parts Store at 11058 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.
  • 6:05 a.m. – A black male was captured on surveillance video throwing a brick through a window glass at the Dollar General Store at 8123 East Main Street. The footage is being reviewed for suspect identification and pending charges.
  • 8:56 a.m. – A welfare check was conducted on a female tenant at the Forest Motel at 10504 South Jacob Smart Boulevard after a suspicious 911 call was received by Jasper County Emergency Services.
  • 10:44 a.m. – A suspicious white male attempting to sell a Husqvarna backpack style leaf blower was reported at the Ridgeland Tire & Auto Service Center at 11263 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.
  • 12:32 p.m. – A welfare check was conducted on an elderly male pedestrian on Tarboro Road regarding a possible negative reaction to medication.  He was ultimately transported by EMS to Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeville for treatment.
  • 2:30 p.m. – A harassment complaint was filed at the SCDOT Maintenance Yard at 150 East Woodlawn Street after a white male subject began making threats towards employees before leaving the area on foot prior to Law Enforcement arrival.
  • 6:08 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Palmetto Eye Specialists Office at 10911 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.
  • 9:56 p.m. – A complaint was filed by a motorist driving a blue Acura regarding a male subject allegedly pointing a firearm in the Oakridge Trailer Park Community. The suspect was soon after located by responding Officers and found to be in possession of a flashlight which he stated he shined towards the driver of the Acura who was driving at a high rate of speed while children were playing in the area.

MAY 30, 2017

  • 4:41 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the SCDOT Maintenance Yard at 150 East Woodlawn Street.
  • 12:28 p.m. – A civil dispute was reported at a residence on West Adams Street.
  • 1:21 p.m. – Officers traveled to the Jasper County Detention Center at 12008 North Jacob Smart Boulevard in service of an outstanding warrant against inmate David Levern Lambert following his arrest by Hardeeville Officers for several unrelated traffic offenses.  Lambert’s charges with RPD stemmed from an April 3rd 2016 traffic stop where he was cited and assigned a court date for driving under suspension.  He then failed to appear in Ridgeland Municipal Court on May 2nd 2016 to answer to the charge where he was found guilty during a trial in absence and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
  • 3:57 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North around the 17 mile marker in reference to a blue 4 door sedan.
  • 8:36 p.m. – A welfare check was conducted on Shadetree Street in the Carters Mill Estates Community after an open line 911 call was received by Jasper County Emergency Services.
  • 10:21 p.m. – Two tractor trailers were reportedly impeding traffic flow while traveling North on I-95 around the 14 mile marker.
  • 11:28 p.m. – A suspicious white male was reported at the Waffle House Restaurant at 8185 East Main Street.

MAY 29, 2017

  • 6:56 a.m. – A verbal domestic dispute between a male and a female was reported at The Palms Motel at 10735 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.
  • 9:51 a.m. – A white male subject was transported by EMS to Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeville from the Ridge Point Square Park on West Main Street after making statements that he may wish to do harm to himself.
  • 12:12 p.m. – Four motorcycles and a red Ford Mustang were reportedly racing one another while traveling South on I-95 around the 23 mile marker.
  • 12:50 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 in reference to a gray Chevy Silverado traveling North between Hardeeville and Ridgeland.
  • 5:35 p.m. – A property damage report was filed by a passing motorist traveling North on I-95 after their windshield suffered damage from a piece of road debris around the 21 mile marker.
  • 6:30 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on Bailey Lane.
  • 6:37 p.m. – A theft was reported at the O’Reilly Auto Parts Store at 11058 North Jacob Smart Boulevard after the complainant discovered their Husqvarna backpack style leaf blower had been stolen from the bed of their pickup.  The incident is said to have occurred sometime around 4:00 p.m.
  • 9:07 p.m. – A white female carrying a bottle was reportedly attempting to jump in front of passing vehicles at the intersection of Great Swamp Road and First Avenue.
  • 9:26 p.m. – Isra Martinez was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center after Patrol Officers found her to be grossly intoxicated standing in the parking lot of the Shell Station at 8309 East Main Street carrying an open bottle of whiskey.
  • 11:05 p.m. – A welfare check was conducted at a residence at Baytree Apartments at 107 First Avenue after a neighbor became concerned that there may be a kitchen fire inside of the home.
  • 11:18 p.m. – Two suspicious vehicles were reported at the Gopher Tortoise Square Park on West Main Street.

MAY 28, 2017

  • 6:41 a.m. – A Chevy Malibu was involved in a single vehicle collision on Grays Highway near the Airport Road intersection after the driver lost control and struck a tree.  A male and a female were transported by EMS to Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeville for treatment.
  • 12:15 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Kingdom Touch Ministries Church at 6714 Tillman Road.
  • 4:25 p.m. – A Suzuki motorcycle was involved in a single vehicle collision at the I-95 Northbound exit 22 interchange.  The male driver was transported by EMS to Savannah Memorial Hospital for treatment.
  • 6:49 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on Highway 462 at the Old House Road intersection in reference to a gray Jeep.
  • 7:59 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported at the intersection of Kato Bay and Crowfield Roads in reference to a green pickup towing a boat.
  • 8:28 p.m. – A welfare check was conducted at Turpin Park at 901 North Logan Street after a 911 hang up call was received by Jasper County Emergency Services.
  • 11:26 p.m. – A noise complaint was filed on Shadetree Street in the Carters Mill Estates Community in reference to a party being held at a neighboring residence.
  • 11:34 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 33 mile marker in reference to a black Chevy passenger car.

MAY 27, 2017

  • 1:30 a.m. – An assault was reported at Schooner’s Bar & Grill at 10953 North Jacob Smart Boulevard after a male subject struck a 26 year old female in the face during a verbal dispute with her Mother.  Michael Eric Hutcheson was ultimately placed under arrest by responding Officers and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.
  • 7:29 a.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 20 mile marker in reference to a gold Nissan Murano.
  • 9:18 a.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 29 mile marker in reference to a red tractor trailer.
  • 10:22 a.m. – A red Hyundai Veloster and a blue Chevy Impala were involved in a collision on I-95 North around the 23 mile marker.  No injuries were reported.
  • 11:04 a.m. – A dispute between two motorists was reported in the parking lot of the Piggly Wiggly grocery store at 10847 North Jacob Smart Boulevard after a vehicle was allegedly struck by the car door of another.
  • 12:15 p.m. – A suspicious black male inside of a gray Nissan passenger car was reported on West Adams Street.
  • 1:00 p.m. – A white tractor trailer was reportedly operating with a flat tire while traveling South on I-95 around the 27 mile marker.
  • 1:26 p.m. – A welfare check was conducted at Woodridge Apartments at 414 South Logan Street where an elderly male resident was found unresponsive with a low pulse.  He was transported by EMS to Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeville for treatment.
  • 3:24 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 in reference to a black Chevy Cruze traveling North between Hardeeville and Ridgeland.
  • 3:34 p.m. – A theft was reported at The Morris Center for Lowcountry Heritage at 10782 South Jacob Smart Boulevard after a review of surveillance footage revealed a white male stealing a garden hose from a faucet on the side of the building on May 21st at 3:50 p.m.  The footage is being reviewed for suspect identification and pending charges.
  • 9:39 p.m. – A noise complaint was filed on First Avenue in reference to loud music coming from a neighboring residence.  A second complaint was filed at 11:19 p.m.

MAY 26, 2017

  • 2:54 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at Ken’s Tire Service at 10464 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.
  • 7:34 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Ridgeland Boys & Girls Club at 913 Grays Highway.
  • 8:53 a.m. – A fraud report was filed at the All Print Custom Tee Shirt Shop at 8120 East Main Street after the complainant’s bank alerted them to a suspicious person to person money transfer initiated at a Bluffton area Bank of America. The information, including the suspect’s identity, was forwarded to the Bluffton Police Department for further investigation and pending charges.
  • 9:19 a.m. – A Peterbilt tractor trailer hauling marble countertops was involved in a single vehicle collision on I-95 South around the 23 mile marker after the driver lost control and struck a wooded area in the center median.  No injuries were reported.

    9:50 a.m. – A silver Kia Spectra with a flat rear driver’s side tire was turned over to Elite Towing for removal from the parking area beside the Fiddler’s Seafood Market at 572 South Green Street after being left abandoned and unoccupied for over a week.

  • 11:22 a.m. – A gas grill was stolen from outside of a residence on Bees Creek Road sometime during the overnight hours of May 25th.
  • 3:23 p.m. – A welfare check was conducted on a subject inside of a white Chevy Malibu in the parking lot of the Badcock Furniture Store at 10213 South Jacob Smart Boulevard where a 61 year old female was found to be having difficulty breathing.  She was ultimately transported by EMS to Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeville for treatment.
  • 7:39 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on West Langford Street.
  • 8:28 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported at the intersection of Bees Creek Road and Chelsea Lane in reference to a burgundy Toyota Camry.
  • 8:36 p.m. – A domestic dispute between a male and a female was reported in the parking lot of the New Hong Kong Restaurant at 8176 East Main Street after the male party caused injury to the female’s hand before fleeing the area when she contacted Law Enforcement.  A warrant affidavit has been filed against Willie L. Roberts, 28 of Yemassee SC, under the charge of domestic violence 3rd degree.

    10:35 p.m. – A suspicious Nissan was reported in the parking lot of the Ridgeland Boys & Girls Club at 913 Grays Highway.

  • 11:34 p.m. – A gray Toyota Camry was stopped for a no headlights in operation violation in the parking lot of Harvey’s Grocery Store at 8205 East Main Street where a strong odor of marijuana led to a probable cause search of the vehicle. Front seat passenger Tey’veon Martez-Dawaine Smalls immediately attempted to flee the area on foot when ordered to exit the vehicle at which time a struggle ensued between himself, the arresting Officer and a Jasper County Sheriff’s Deputy who had arrived to assist in the vehicle search.  Smalls continued to fight against both Officers as two other black males exited the back seat of the vehicle, one of whom began to reach into his waistband, before both turned and fled on foot running towards the Blue Heron Nature Trail when ordered to show their hands. Smalls was ultimately taken into custody without further incident at which time a loaded 38 caliber handgun was located on his person resulting in an additional charge.  A search of the vehicle yielded a quantity of marijuana belonging to Smalls as well as an open container of beer belonging to driver Gerald Anthony Haynes, 22 of Saint Helena SC, who was cited for the offense and assigned a court date prior to leaving the area as Smalls was transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.

MAY 25, 2017

  • 1:25 a.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 33 mile marker in reference to a red tractor trailer.
  • 8:45 a.m. – A noise complaint was filed on First Avenue in reference to loud music coming from a neighboring residence.
  • 9:21 a.m. – A harassment complaint was filed at Devonwood Apartments at 137 Captain Bill Road.
  • 9:44 a.m. – A suspicious gray Chevy Silverado pickup was reported in a wooded area on Highway 462 near the Old House Road intersection.  It was turned over to J&M Towing for removal from the area.
  • 3:08 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North around the 19 mile marker in reference to a white tractor trailer.
  • 3:13 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 in reference to a green tractor trailer traveling North between Hardeeville and Ridgeland.
  • 3:57 p.m. – A black male was reportedly asking customers and passers by for money in the parking lot of the Bobops Convenience Store at 8548 Grahamville Road.
  • 4:41 p.m. – A silver Dodge Ram pickup and a black Chevy Impala were involved in a collision in front of the Star Point BP Station at 11122 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.  No injuries were reported.
  • 5:21 p.m. – A civil dispute was reported by a Bees Creek Road resident regarding a recently filled prescription at the Rite Aid Pharmacy at 8225 East Main Street.
  • 11:36 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 28 mile marker in reference to a white pickup towing a camper.

MAY 24, 2017

  • 5:08 a.m. – A fallen tree blocked both lanes of travel on Tillman Road at the Tarboro Road intersection for approximately 1 hour until clear by SCDOT work crews.

  • 9:28 a.m. – A red Pontiac G6 and a silver Cadillac XTS were involved in a collision on I-95 South around the 17 mile marker.  No injuries were reported.
  • 10:35 a.m. – A brown Chevy Silverado pickup and a blue Toyota Camry were involved in a collision in front of the Gulf Station at 8250 East Main Street.  No injuries were reported.
  • 11:40 a.m. – A white Ford Fusion and a black Ford Escape were involved in a collision at the intersection of Highway 462 and Salzburg Landing Road.  No injuries were reported.
  • 11:57 a.m. – An animal complaint was filed on Oakridge North in the Oakridge Trailer Park Community in reference to a stray pit bull roaming the area.  The owner was located by responding Officers and advised to restrain the dog on their property.
  • 2:13 p.m. – A civil dispute was reported at the Quality Inn Motel at 221 James Taylor Drive in reference to personal items left inside of a recently vacated room.
  • 5:35 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 28 mile marker in reference to a black Honda.
  • 10:15 p.m. – A tractor trailer was reportedly operating without taillights while traveling North on I-95 around the 10 mile marker.

MAY 23, 2017

  • 12:41 a.m. – A suspicious black male was reported at the Econo Lodge Motel at 511 James Taylor Drive.
  • 1:37 a.m. – A civil dispute between a tenant and Management was reported at the Carolina Lodge Motel at 8260 East Main Street.
  • 2:15 a.m. – A suspicious vehicle was reported in the parking lot of the O’Reilly Auto Parts Store at 11058 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.
  • 2:20 a.m. – A suspicious vehicle was reported in the parking lot of the Exxon Station at 8310 East Main Street.
  • 5:07 a.m. – A black male was reportedly asking customers and passers by for money in the parking lot of the EZ Stop IV Station at 80 Blue Heron Drive.  A second complaint was received at 5:42 a.m.
  • 6:59 a.m. – A property damage report was filed at the Jasper County Detention Center at 12008 North Jacob Smart Boulevard after inmate Aljaquan Lamont Hugue tore a telephone receiver from the wall when told to return to his cell resulting an a warrant being issued against him under the charge of malicious injury to property.
  • 7:31 a.m. – A fight involving 2 male students against 1 was reported in the bus parking area at the Ridgeland Alternative School at 456 Grays Highway.  One of the subjects was transported by EMS to Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeville.
  • 9:06 a.m. – A welfare check was conducted on an elderly female at a residence on Bailey Lane after an unknown person answered the telephone when a relative called.
  • 10:07 a.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 28 mile marker in reference to a white Mercedes.
  • 12:29 p.m. – A black male was reportedly approaching vehicles and asking for money in the crosswalk area in front of the Ridgeland Post Office at 7554 West Main Street.
  • 1:11 p.m. – A white Toyota Solara was involved in a single vehicle collision on I-95 South around the 17 mile marker after the driver lost control and left the right shoulder of the roadway.  No injuries were reported.
  • 1:26 p.m. – A Peterbilt tractor trailer was involved in a single vehicle collision on I-95 South around the 16 mile marker after the driver lost control and struck the center median guard wires.  No injuries were reported.
  • 1:34 p.m. – A red freightliner tractor trailer was involved in a single vehicle collision on I-95 South around the 18 mile marker.  No injuries were reported.
  • 1:56 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 30 mile marker in reference to a black Chevy Impala.
  • 5:26 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the All Children’s Pediatrics Office at 11382 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.
  • 5:47 p.m. – A property damage report was filed at the Piggly Wiggly Grocery Store at 10847 North Jacob Smart Boulevard after an unknown person opened the door of a vehicle and struck the complainant’s black Honda sedan parked next to it.
  • 10:45 p.m. – A black Cadillac SRX was involved in a single vehicle collision on I-95 North around the 17 mile marker after the driver lost control and left the right shoulder of the roadway overturning several times before striking a group of trees.  A 57 year old female was ejected and pronounced dead at the scene as three other occupants were transported by EMS to Savannah Memorial Hospital after being extricated from the wreckage.

MAY 22, 2017

  • 3:13 a.m. – A suspicious male was reported at the Waffle House Restaurant at 8185 East Main Street.
  • 3:53 a.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 in reference to a white pickup traveling North between Hardeeville and Ridgeland.
  • 4:18 a.m. – A welfare check was conducted at a residence on Wise Street after suspicious noises were heard outside of the home.
  • 7:17 a.m. – A welfare check was conducted on Wood Duck Street in the Carters Mill Estates Community after a 911 hang up call was received by Jasper County Emergency Services.
  • 7:30 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Ridgeland Boys & Girls Club at 913 Grays Highway.
  • 7:37 a.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 23 mile marker in reference to a black Dodge pickup.
  • 8:59 a.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North around the 11 mile marker in reference to a burgundy Nissan Rogue.
  • 9:22 a.m. – An animal complaint was filed in reference to a brown Labrador reportedly chasing children on Shadetree Street in the Carters Mill Estates Community.
  • 9:26 a.m. – Dewayne Jordan Jr. was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center from the Ridgeland Municipal Courtroom at 1 Town Square in reference to an outstanding warrant issued against him.  Riley’s charges stemmed from an April 9th 2017 report filed at the Econo Lodge Motel at 511 James Taylor Drive where a 32″ flat screen television was stolen from a recently vacated room.  A review of surveillance footage revealed Jordan to be the person responsible for the theft having occurred on April 7th as he was removing his items from the room resulting in a warrant being issued for his arrest.  His appearance in court on today’s date was in reference to an unrelated charge from a March 4th 2017 incident at the EZ Stop IV Station at 80 Blue Heron Drive where he was witnessed purchasing alcohol for a minor and then fleeing the area when approached by Law Enforcement.  He was later arrested for the offense on March 5th.
  • 12:13 p.m. – A gray Dodge Caravan was stopped for speeding on I-95 South around the 21 mile marker where driver Alexis Raven Johnson-Varnado, 20 of Naples FL, was found to be in possession of a quantity of marijuana.  She was cited for the offenses and assigned a court date prior to leaving the area.
  • 3:12 p.m. – A blue Honda Accord and a red Jeep Renegade were involved in a collision at the intersection of Highway 462 and Deloss Point Road.  No injuries were reported.
  • 5:18 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at The Outpost Clothing Store at 10535 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.
  • 5:36 p.m. – A suspicious black female was reported at the Dollar General Store at 8123 East Main Street.
  • 8:13 p.m. – A complaint was filed by a motorist driving a black GMC Yukon in the parking lot of the Star Point BP Station at 11122 North Jacob Smart Boulevard after their vehicle was reportedly struck by a black Chevy Camaro causing a small dent.  Both parties agreed to handle the matter civilly.
  • 10:26 p.m. – A black Chevy Tahoe was involved in a single vehicle collision on I-95 South around the 19 mile marker after the driver lost control and struck the center median guard wires.  No injuries were reported.

MAY 21, 2017

  • 1:45 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Ridgeland Baptist Church at 1448 Grays Highway.
  • 6:08 a.m. – A blue Honda Civic was stopped for speeding on I-95 North around the 22 mile marker where driver Rogelio Lico was found to be operating without a driver’s license.  He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as Hook Ups Towing took possession of the vehicle.
  • 7:28 a.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 38 mile marker in reference to a black Nissan.
  • 12:59 p.m. – A white Chevy Traverse and a black Lincoln Navigator were involved in a collision at the intersection of East Main and South Green Streets. No injuries were reported.
  • 1:30 p.m. – An assault was reported at the Short Stop BP Station at 10728 South Jacob Smart Boulevard after a female allegedly threatened the complainant with a large knife before leaving the area prior to Law Enforcement arrival.
  • 2:14 p.m. – A shoplifting was reported at the Citgo Station at 107 Sycamore Drive after a female subject was captured on surveillance video stealing store items. Responding Officers placed Maria Elena Lea-Bowden under arrest and transported her to the Jasper County Detention Center.
  • 3:57 p.m. – A welfare check was conducted at the Econo Lodge Motel at 511 James Taylor Drive after a 911 hang up call was received by Jasper County Emergency Services.
  • 4:15 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Davita Dialysis Center at 112 Weathersbee Street.
  • 4:17 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Palmetto Veterinary Hospital at 409 South Green Street.
  • 5:15 p.m. – A domestic dispute between a male and a female was reported at the Econo Lodge Motel at 511 James Taylor Drive.
  • 6:43 p.m. – A suspicious black male was reported in a wooded area bordering the rear property fence of the Ridgeland Correctional Institution at 5 Correctional Road.
  • 8:52 p.m. – A suspicious white male was reported at 112 East Wilson Street.
  • 9:26 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 35 mile marker in reference to a white tractor trailer.
  • 9:41 p.m. – A white International tractor trailer was involved in a single vehicle collision on I-95 South around the 17 mile marker after the driver lost control and struck the center median guard wires impeding traffic flow until approximately 2:30 a.m.  No injuries were reported.

MAY 20, 2017

  • 12:56 a.m. – A heavily damaged vehicle was reportedly left abandoned for over a week in the parking lot of the EZ Stop IV Station at 80 Blue Heron Drive.
  • 1:23 a.m. – A suspicious vehicle was reported at the Advance Auto Parts Store at 10424 South Jacob Smart Boulevard in reference to a blue pickup.
  • 9:17 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the K&L Granite and Marble Showroom at 11742 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.
  • 10:08 a.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North around the 13 mile marker in reference to a white tractor trailer.
  • 11:37 a.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North around the 10 mile marker in reference to a white tractor trailer.
  • 11:47 a.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 27 mile marker in reference to a gray sports car.
  • 2:26 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North around the 18 mile marker in reference to a tractor trailer.
  • 3:25 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Grayco Building Supply Store at 119 Industrial Park Road.
  • 4:36 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported in the parking lot of the EZ Stop IV Station at 80 Blue Heron Drive in reference to a blue Saturn SUV.
  • 6:14 p.m. – A report of illegal drug activity was filed in reference to a rented room at the Quality Inn Motel at 221 James Taylor Drive.
  • 7:19 p.m. – A reckless driver complaint was filed in reference to a group of motorcycles traveling in excess of 100 mph traveling North on Highway 17 between Hardeeville and Ridgeland.  Officers soon after spotted the group at the Captain Bill Road intersection accelerating in an aggressive manner when they spotted Law Enforcement in the area.  A traffic stop was initiated at the I-95 Northbound entrance ramp at the exit 22 interchange at which time one of the drivers operating an orange and black Suzuki with no tag fled the area continuing North on I-95 initiating a pursuit.  The suspect, reaching speeds of 170 mph, passed other motorists on the shoulder as well as the centerline until reaching exit 28 where the vehicle merged onto Highway 462 West.  The pursuit ultimately came to an end after the driver was unable to pass traffic on the 2 lane roadway and was forced to stop in front of Allen’s Funeral Home at 8881 Cossaw Scenic Drive where Chelsi Danielle Urban was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as Eric’s Towing took possession of the vehicle.
  • 10:16 p.m. – A verbal domestic dispute between a male and a female was reported at the Econo Lodge Motel at 511 James Taylor Drive resulting in the male party alleging that his cell phone was stolen by the female as she left the property prior to Law Enforcement arrival.

MAY 19, 2017

  • 12:30 a.m. – An animal complaint was filed at a residence on East Wilson Street after the homeowner discovered a snake inside the home.
  • 1:31 a.m. – A report of 3 suspicious persons sleeping inside of a blue Chevy Impala was filed at the Travelodge Motel at 8216 East Main Street.  Responding Officers checked with the on duty Manager who stated that the subjects were not registered guests and asked that they be told to leave the business property. After waking all 3 individuals a strong odor of marijuana was detected coming from inside of the vehicle resulting in a probable cause search which yielded two bundled packages containing a combined 214 grams of marijuana, 2 grams of powder cocaine, 17 smartphones with chargers and 20 pounds of packaged tobacco.  Driver Leonardoro Subastain O’Neal Jr. along with passengers Zackhary Danzell Rivers and Kendrix Axi Workman were then placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as Elite Towing took possession of the vehicle.

    6:16 a.m. – An incorrigible juvenile was reported at a residence on Promise Way after the complainant’s 12 year old son refused to go to school.

  • 8:04 a.m. – A welfare check was conducted at a residence on North Jasper Street after the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office issued a missing persons report for the 35 year old male homeowner when he failed to return from a fishing trip. The subject was ultimately located at a campsite in that jurisdiction.
  • 8:07 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Ridgeland Alternative School at 456 Grays Highway.
  • 10:50 a.m. – A report of illegal drug activity was filed at Baytree Apartments at 107 First Avenue.
  • 1:38 p.m. – Ridgeland Officers assisted South Carolina Highway Patrol at the intersection of Highway 462 and Old House Road after a gray Buick LeSabre driven by a pregnant female was struck by a white Lexus that fled the area heading West without reporting the collision.
  • 3:13 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 29 mile marker in reference to a silver Hyundai.
  • 4:18 p.m. – A piece of tire debris was reportedly lying in the roadway on I-95 North around the 20 mile marker.
  • 5:54 p.m. – A burglary was reported at the Ridgeland Storage Facility at 698 West Adams Street after the Property Manager discovered 3 separate rental units with cut locks and missing items.
  • 6:04 p.m. – Ridgeland Officers traveled to the Jasper County Detention Center at 12008 North Jacob Smart Boulevard in service of an outstanding warrant against inmate Michael Dwayne Riley following his arrest by Jasper County Deputies at a residence on Henry Lawton Road.  Riley’s charges with RPD stemmed from a May 15th 2017 report filed at the Gulf Station at 8250 East Main Street where he was captured on surveillance video entering onto the business property in violation of a trespass notice prohibiting him from doing so.
  • 6:06 p.m. – A large stray brindle colored dog was reported at the Pratt Memorial Library at 451 East Wilson Street.
  • 7:02 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at Ken’s Tire Service at 10464 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.
  • 7:26 p.m. – A legally parked and unoccupied green Ford Escort was struck by an unknown vehicle in the parking lot of the Pizza Hut Carryout at 10856 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.  Surveillance video is being reviewed for suspect identification.
  • 8:14 p.m. – Ridgeland Officers traveled to the Jasper County Detention Center at 12008 North Jacob Smart Boulevard in service of 4 outstanding warrants against inmate Amanda Clarice Miller following her arrest by Hardeeville Officers during a traffic stop at the intersection of John Smith and Pine Arbor Roads.  Miller’s charges with RPD stemmed from a February 15th 2017 traffic stop at the Sunoco Station at 11965 North Jacob Smart Boulevard where she was cited and assigned a court date for driving under suspension, improper tag, operating uninsured and failure to register vehicle.  She then failed to appear in Ridgeland Municipal Court to answer to the charges on March 13th where she was found guilty during a trial in absence and warrants were issued for her arrest. 
  • 8:16 p.m. – A suspicious male was reported on Bailey Lane.
  • 11:16 p.m. – A silver SUV and a green passenger car were reportedly operating without headlights traveling North on I-95 between Hardeeville and Ridgeland.

MAY 18, 2017

  • 1:56 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Grayco Building Supply Store at 119 Industrial Park Road.
  • 3:29 a.m. – A red Toyota was stopped for speeding on I-95 North around the 23 mile marker where driver Seth Sithik was found to be operating under a suspended Pennsylvania driver’s license.  He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as the vehicle was released to a licensed passenger.
  • 4:25 a.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 31 mile marker in reference to a dark colored Ford Excursion.
  • 8:04 a.m. – A small white male juvenile was reportedly walking unaccompanied on Third Avenue by the Green Street intersection.
  • 10:51 a.m. – A suspicious white male was reported at the Badcock Furniture Store at 10213 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.
  • 12:08 p.m. – A complaint was filed at the Star Point BP Station at 11122 North Jacob Smart Boulevard after a paycheck cashed by a female customer in January of this year was returned by the issuing bank citing that the same customer had reported the check lost/stolen to the bank prior to cashing it and had been issued a new paycheck thereby voiding the original.  The case against Jamie Dawn Harvey, 37 of Ridgeland, has been forwarded to the Jasper County Solicitor’s Office Fraudulent Check Unit for prosecution.

    1:05 p.m. – A 16 year old male student at the Ridgeland Alternative School at 456 Grays Highway left the property without permission walking to a residence on Hagin Drive after reportedly feeling threatened by another male student.  Both subjects were remanded to the care of their parents with the incident to be handled internally be school Administrators.

  • 2:25 p.m. – A welfare check was conducted at Baytree Apartments at 107 First Avenue in reference to possible neglect of a pet dog.
  • 3:27 p.m. – A financial transaction card fraud report was filed by a male complainant after an unauthorized transaction appeared on his bank statement. The card was reportedly left unintentionally by the complainant at the Bobops Convenience Store at 8548 Grahamville Road on May 16th and later cancelled, but not before the unauthorized transaction took place.  Surveillance video is being reviewed for suspect identification and pending charges.
  • 6:18 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 22 mile marker in reference to a silver Dodge pickup.
  • 6:43 p.m. – An open door was discovered at the Jasper County Government Building at 358 Third Avenue.  Responding Officers discovered no persons inside and the building was secured prior to leaving the area.
  • 7:14 p.m. – A shoplifting was reported at the Dollar General Store at 8123 East Main Street after Elouise Anderson was witnessed stealing store items by concealing them underneath her clothing.  She returned some of the items when confronted by Management but then left the business property prior to Law Enforcement arrival last seen walking East.  She was shortly after located inside of the Burger King Restaurant at 8257 East Main Street where she was ultimately placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center under a charge of shoplifting as well as being placed on trespass notice for the Dollar General business property at Management’s request.
  • 8:27 p.m. – A complaint was filed by a motorist at the Gulf Station at 8250 East Main Street after a white female pedestrian ran into oncoming traffic as he traveled East on Main Street nearly causing a collision.  Responding Officers discovered the female, Brandi Dawn James, to be intoxicated and shouting obscenities towards the complainant upon arrival ultimately resulting in her being placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.
  • 8:45 p.m. – A shoplifting was reported at the Dollar General Store at 8123 East Main Street after a white male was witnessed stealing store items by concealing them inside of his clothing.  Responding Officers placed Edward Riley Hilderbran under arrest and transported him to the Jasper County Detention Center.  He was also placed on trespass notice for the Dollar General business property at Management’s request.
  • 10:55 p.m. – A domestic dispute between a male and a female regarding child custody was reported at a residence on Grays Highway.

MAY 17, 2017

  • 9:18 a.m. – A red and black Toro push mower was reportedly stolen from outside of a residence on East Wilson Street on May 16th sometime after 7 p.m.
  • 3:06 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Carolina Collisions Auto Body Shop at 11365 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.
  • 3:50 a.m. – A welfare check was conducted on a 20 year old female tenant at the Ridgeland Weekly Rentals at 67 West Woodlawn Street after she was found to be incoherent inside of her bedroom.  She was ultimately transported by EMS to Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeville for treatment.
  • 4:45 a.m. – A welfare check was conducted at a residence on Sisters Ferry Road after a 911 hang up call was received by Jasper County Emergency Services. Responding Officers discovered a male complainant who stated that his vehicle had been broken into at a residence on Knowles Island Road.  The case was then forwarded to the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office.
  • 7:32 a.m. – A yellow Toyota Celica and a red Nissan Versa were involved in a collision in the parking lot of the Ridgeland High School at 250 Jaguar Trail.  No injuries were reported.
  • 7:36 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Aussie Auto Body Shop at 1010 West Adams Street.
  • 11:36 a.m. – A reckless driver was reported on Kato Bay Road in reference to a white Hyundai Elantra.
  • 11:56 a.m. – A complaint was filed by a passing motorist in reference to a dump truck with an uncovered load of sand traveling South on I-95 around the 38 mile marker.
  • 2:51 p.m. – A silver BMW was stopped for speeding on I-95 North around the 25 mile marker where driver Collin A. Mausling, 19 of Saint Johns FL, was found to be in possession of a quantity of marijuana.  He was cited for the offense and assigned a court date prior to leaving the area.
  • 3:40 p.m. – A white Ford F150 pickup and a blue Chevy Malibu were involved in a collision on Airport Road.  No injuries were reported.
  • 5:15 p.m. – A black Chevy pickup was stopped for speeding on I-95 North around the 22 mile marker where driver Alec Emilien Delpuech, 20 of Ponte Vedre Beach FL, was found to be in possession of a quantity of marijuana.  He was cited for the offense and assigned a court date prior to leaving the area.
  • 5:37 p.m. – Officers traveled to the Jasper County Detention Center at 12008 North Jacob Smart Boulevard in service of an outstanding warrant against inmate Cesar Castro-Catalan following his arrest by South Carolina Highway Patrol. Catalan’s charges stemmed from a November 26th 2016 traffic stop on Highway 17 at the I-95 exit 18 interchange where he was cited for driving without a license 2nd offense.  He then failed to appear in Ridgeland Municipal Court to answer to the charge on December 12th where he was found guilty during a trial in absence and a warrant was issued for his arrest.

MAY 16, 2017

  • 2:15 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on Honeycomb Court in the Bees Creek Plantation Community where a 63 year old female resident was found to have suffered a fall.  She was ultimately transported by EMS to Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeville for treatment.
  • 7:12 a.m. – A large piece of tire debris was reported in the roadway on I-95 South around the 17 mile marker.
  • 7:52 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on Benson Lane.
  • 11:20 a.m. – A suspicious person was reported at the KFC Restaurant at 8146 East Main Street.
  • 3:05 p.m. – A white Chevy Silverado pickup and a gold Honda Accord were involved in a collision at the intersection of Highway 278 and Russell Street.  No injuries were reported.
  • 3:23 p.m. – A property damage report was filed at the Forest Motel at 10504 South Jacob Smart Boulevard after a female tenant caused damage to a window glass.  Both parties agreed to handle the matter civilly.
  • 6:42 p.m. – Officers traveled to the Jasper County Detention Center at 12008 North Jacob Smart Boulevard in service of an outstanding warrant against inmate Lawrence Liamarch McKeever following his arrest by Jasper County Deputies at a residence on Canvasback Drive in Hardeeville under two outstanding DUI and no driver’s license failure to appear bench warrants.  McKeever’s charges with RPD stemmed from a March 2017 traffic stop where he was cited and assigned a court date for a driving without a license violation.  He then failed to appear in Ridgeland Municipal Court to answer to the charge on April 3rd where he was found guilty during a trial in absence and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
  • 8:09 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North around the 11 mile marker in reference to a white Jaguar sedan and a black Dodge SUV.

MAY 15, 2017

  • 12:11 a.m. – A black male was reportedly asking customers and passers by for money in the parking lot of the Gulf Station at 8250 East Main Street before leaving the area on a bicycle as the clerk contacted Police.  A review of surveillance video revealed the subject in question to be identified as Michael Dwayne Riley, 46 of Ridgeland, who was recently placed on trespass notice for the Gulf business property following his January 7th arrest for a theft at the same location where he was captured on surveillance video leaning over the business counter and stealing an undisclosed amount of cash after distracting the on duty cashier just after 4 a.m. on May 21st 2016.  A new warrant affidavit has been filed against Riley charging him with trespassing after notice.

    12:29 a.m. – A suspicious black male was reported at the Gulf Station at 8250 East Main Street.  Responding Officers spotted the subject behind the business at which point he fled the area on foot upon seeing Law Enforcement in the area. A short pursuit ensued as the suspect ran across East Main Street into the Burger King Restaurant parking lot where he threw a loaded 38 caliber handgun to the ground before turning towards Blue Heron Drive and disappearing into a wooded area beside the Quality Inn Motel.  The handgun, as well as other items dropped by the fleeing suspect, were collected and submitted to the SLED Forensics Laboratory for analysis and pending charges.

  • 2:55 a.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 33 mile marker in reference to a red Dodge Charger.
  • 4:46 a.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 in reference to a silver Saturn Vue traveling North between Hardeeville and Ridgeland.
  • 7:29 a.m. – A silver Toyota Corolla and a black Ford F150 pickup were involved in a collision on I-95 South around the 18 mile marker.  No injuries were reported.
  • 8:29 a.m. – A dispute regarding Family Court proceedings was reported at a residence on Shadetree Street in the Carters Mill Estates Community.
  • 10:11 a.m. – A report of illegal drug activity inside of a rented room was filed at the Quality Inn Motel at 221 James Taylor Drive.
  • 10:18 a.m. – A gold Ford Fusion was reported struck by a Fedex tractor trailer which then continued traveling without reporting the collision on I-95 North around the 18 mile marker.  No injuries were reported.
  • 10:32 a.m. – A theft was reported at Baytree Apartments at 107 First Avenue after a verbal dispute between the complainant and her son ended with the him stealing a cell phone from his Mother’s purse and fleeing the area on foot. Joquan Markell Bolden was soon after located at the basketball court in the Carters Mill Estates Community where he was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.  Bolden was also found to be listed as a wanted person by the Ridgeland Police Department in reference to an April 19th 2017 incident at Baytree Apartments where he smashed his Mother’s cell phone on the ground during a dispute and fled the area prior to Law Enforcement arrival.
  • 10:36 a.m. – An animal complaint was filed on Oak Plantation Drive in reference to a stray cat on the complainant’s property.
  • 10:49 a.m. – A harassment complaint was filed in reference to alleged threats made towards a male complainant following a hearing at the Jasper County Magistrate’s Office at 967 West Adams Street.
  • 12:32 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North around the 16 mile marker in reference to a white SUV.
  • 2:55 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on McTeer Street.
  • 2:57 p.m. – A welfare check was conducted on a white female at the Blue Heron Nature Center at 321 Bailey Lane.
  • 5:01 p.m. – A welfare check was conducted at a residence on North Green Street after a 911 hang up call was received by Jasper County Emergency Services.
  • 5:02 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on Highway 462 at the Glover Road intersection in reference to a gold SUV.
  • 6:28 p.m. – A civil dispute regarding a pending Magistrate’s Court hearing was filed at a residence on First Avenue.
  • 7:13 p.m. – A welfare check was conducted at the I-95 Southbound truck parking area around the 17 mile marker in reference to a Freightliner tractor trailer with a blown tire possibly having caused damage to a passenger car around the 28 mile marker.

MAY 14, 2017

  • 12:18 a.m. – A trespassing complaint was filed at a residence at Heron Crossing Apartments at 209 Heron Crossing Drive after a female subject reportedly refused to leave the complainant’s residence when told.  She ultimately left of her own accord prior to Law Enforcement arrival.
  • 1:35 a.m. – A 41 year old male was transported by EMS from The Siesta Motel at 10530 South Jacob Smart Boulevard to Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeville after ingesting an overdose of his prescription medication.
  • 1:59 a.m. – A welfare check was conducted on a female subject driving a black Ford Expedition after Officers spotted the vehicle stuck in a roadside drainage ditch in front of the Family Dollar Store at 73 South Green Street accelerating in an attempt to get back onto the roadway.  Driver Alicia Mitchell was found to be operating under the influence of alcohol resulting in her being placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as Little T’s Towing took possession of the vehicle.
  • 4:59 a.m. – A suspicious blue Chevy Impala was reported on the Ridgeland Correctional Institution property at 5 Correctional Road.
  • 5:05 a.m. – A noise complaint was filed on Oakridge South in the Oakridge Trailer Park Community in reference to a party at a neighboring residence.
  • 7:00 a.m. – Ashley Renee Wright turned herself in to Officers at the Jasper County Detention Center at 12008 North Jacob Smart Boulevard in reference to an outstanding warrant issued for her arrest by the Ridgeland Police Department. Wright’s charges stemmed from a May 12th 2017 incident at Logan Lane Apartments at 544 South Logan Street where she kicked in another female’s door following an argument over Facebook comments before fleeing the area on foot.
  • 10:06 a.m. – A welfare check was conducted on a blue Pontiac Montana van on I-95 North around the 22 mile marker.
  • 10:39 a.m. – A gold Honda Accord and a red Ford Focus were involved in a collision at the intersection of Smiths Crossing and Sycamore Drive.  One occupant was transported by EMS to Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeville for treatment.
  • 11:45 a.m. – Ridgeland Officers traveled to the Jasper County Detention Center at 12008 North Jacob Smart Boulevard in service of an outstanding warrant against inmate Star Alexis Gadson following her arrest by Hardeeville Officers for an unrelated misdemeanor failure to appear warrant with that agency.  Gadson’s charges with RPD stemmed from a May 4th 2017 report filed at the Carolina Lodge Motel at 8260 East Main Street where she was captured on surveillance video entering an unoccupied white Honda Odyssey mini van in the parking lot during the early morning hours of May 1st and stealing an undisclosed amount of cash.
  • 3:30 p.m. – A suspicious black male in a dark blue sedan was reported at Turpin Park at 901 North Logan Street.
  • 5:59 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North around the 9 mile marker in reference to a tan 4 door Jeep Wrangler.
  • 7:43 p.m. – A suspicious female pedestrian was reported at the intersection of Bees Creek Road and Ridgeland Lakes Drive.
  • 9:01 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on Kato Bay Road in reference to a white tractor trailer.
  • 10:34 p.m. – A verbal domestic dispute between a male and a female over ownership of a vehicle was reported at a residence on Sailfish Circle in the Carters MIll Estates Community.

MAY 13, 2017

  • 3:03 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at Ken’s Tire Service at 10464 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.
  • 4:28 a.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 21 mile marker in reference to a dark colored Hyundai Solaris.
  • 3:03 p.m. – A white Lexus es350 and a red Peterbilt tractor trailer were involved in a collision on I-95 South around the 18 mile marker.  No injuries were reported.
  • 3:12 p.m. – A Ford F350 pickup was involved in a single vehicle collision on I-95 South around the 18 mile marker after the driver lost control and struck the center median cable barrier.  No injuries were reported.
  • 3:21 p.m. – A complaint was filed in reference to living conditions of a dog behind a home on North Green Street.
  • 3:35 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 in reference to a gold Chrysler Town & Country mini van traveling North between Hardeeville and Ridgeland.
  • 3:51 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on Kato Bay Road in reference to a red Chevy Silverado pickup.
  • 10:32 p.m. – Ridgeland Officers traveled to the Sheriff Al Cannon Detention Center at 3841 Leeds Avenue in North Charleston where inmate Gay Lord Lawrence was turned over to their custody and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center in reference to an outstanding warrant issued by the Ridgeland Police Department.  Lawrence’s charges stemmed from a March 17th 2017 traffic stop where he was cited and assigned a court date for a no driver’s licence violation. He later failed to appear in Ridgeland Municipal Court to answer to the charge on April 3rd where he was found guilty during a trial in absence and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
  • 10:37 p.m. – A noise complaint was filed on Sailfish Circle in the Carters Mill Estates Community in reference to loud music at a neighboring residence.  A second complaint was received at 12:08 a.m.
  • 10:38 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on Highway 462 at the Old House Road intersection in reference to a silver Ford SUV.

MAY 12, 2017

  • 2:00 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Grayco Building Supply Store at 119 Industrial Park Road.
  • 7:39 a.m. – Ridgeland Officers traveled to the Allendale County Detention Center at 107 Law Enforcement Court in Allendale SC where inmate Vernell Alexis Bolden was turned over to their custody and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center in reference to three outstanding warrants issued by the Ridgeland Police Department.  Bolden’s first charge stemmed from an October 14th 2014 incident where he was found in possession of a quantity of marijuana while serving as an inmate at the Jasper County Detention Center.  He was later found guilty of the charge in Ridgeland Municipal Court on November 17th 2014 and placed on a time payment plan to settle the court ordered fines which he failed to comply resulting in a warrant being issued for his arrest.  Bolden’s second charge stemmed from a January 6th 2015 domestic dispute at Logan Lane Apartments at 544 South Logan Street where he was arrested and charged with criminal domestic violence 1st offense after striking a female victim during a verbal dispute who then fled to Woodridge Apartments to contact Police. He was found guilty of the charge in Ridgeland Municipal Court on February 9th 2015 and placed on a time payment plan to settle the court ordered fines as well as ordered to attend a batterer’s treatment program, both of which he failed to comply with resulting in a warrant being issued for his arrest.  Bolden’s third charge stemmed from an April 30th 2015 domestic dispute at a residence on East Wilson Street where he threatened to shoot the female complainant after following her home from Turpin Park.  He then fled the area prior to Law Enforcement arrival resulting in a warrant being issued against him under the charge of criminal domestic violence 2nd offense.
  • 10:26 a.m. – A white male was reportedly shouting profanities and making threatening gestures towards employees inside of the Legacy Realty Office at 10616 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.  Responding Officers placed Jon Lamar Brantley under arrest and transported him to the Jasper County Detention Center.
  • 11:01 a.m. – A financial transaction card fraud was reported at the Southeastern Small Engine Repair Service at 11211 North Jacob Smart Boulevard after the business owner discovered several fraudulent charges appearing on the company bank statement stemming from a recently created unauthorized Paypal account.
  • 2:00 p.m. – Jermaine Beaton was placed under arrest while checking in at the South Carolina Department of Probation & Parole Office at 214 Second Avenue and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center in reference to an outstanding warrant issued against him by the Ridgeland Police Department. Beaton’s charges stemmed from a July 23rd 2015 incident at the Star Point BP Station at 11122 North Jacob Smart Boulevard where he attempted to cash a $713 check under a fraudulent account number for a furniture moving company he had never worked for.  He fled the area prior to Law Enforcement arrival after becoming suspicious that he had been discovered.
  • 4:23 p.m. – A property damage report was filed at Logan Lane Apartments at 544 South Logan Street after a verbal dispute between two females over Facebook comments ended with one of them kicking in the complainant’s front door and then fleeing the area on foot running towards East Adams Street as responding Officers arrived on scene.  Affidavits have been filed against Ashley Renee Wright, 18 of Ridgeland, charging her with malicious injury to real property.

  • 6:17 p.m. – A welfare check was conducted on 2 females standing outside of a disabled burgundy sedan on I-95 South around the 22 mile marker.
  • 7:05 p.m. – A harassment complaint was filed at a residence on Shadetree Street in the Carters Mill Estates Community in reference to unwanted telephone calls.
  • 8:02 p.m. – A white Mercedes was stopped for speeding on I-95 South around the 22 mile marker where driver Idella Eugina Jackson provided the Officer with another subject’s identification in an attempt to conceal her identity due to her Florida driver’s license being under a state of suspension.  She was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as the vehicle was released to a licensed passenger.
  • 8:59 p.m. – A legally parked and unoccupied white Chevy Silverado pickup was struck by an unknown vehicle which then left the area without reporting the collision in the parking lot of the El Ranchito Restaurant at 11382 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.
  • 10:11 p.m. – A suspicious vehicle was reported in the parking lot of the Boat & RV Megastore at 401 Sycamore Drive.

MAY 11, 2017

  • 12:00 a.m. – A welfare check was conducted on a male subject reportedly locked out of his residence on Oakridge North in the Oakridge Trailer Park Community.
  • 3:32 a.m. – A suspicious black BMW with a male sleeping inside was reported in the parking lot of the Burger King Restaurant at 8257 East Main Street.
  • 3:41 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated vehicle alarm in the parking lot of the EZ Stop IV Station at 80 Blue Heron Drive.
  • 7:03 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Spay & Neuter Clinic at 21 Getsinger Street.
  • 8:14 a.m. – Officers responded to a report of a male subject sleeping at the Ralph Tuten Memorial Park at 80 Blue Heron Drive where Yimanumaimaiti Abudoumijiti was found to be intoxicated and refusing to leave the area.  He was ultimately placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.
  • 9:39 a.m. – A white Chevy Cavalier was involved in a single vehicle collision in the center median on I-95 North around the 22 mile marker.  No injuries were reported.
  • 1:05 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 in reference to a gold Toyota mini van traveling North between Hardeeville and Ridgeland.
  • 5:14 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the All Print Custom Tee Shirt Shop at 8124 East Main Street.
  • 6:03 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on Kato Bay Road in reference to a black BMW.

MAY 10, 2017

  • 4:51 a.m. – Anthony L. Westberry turned himself in to Ridgeland Officers at the Jasper County Detention Center in reference to 2 outstanding warrants issued against him stemming from a May 5th traffic stop at the intersection of Highway 17 North and Smiths Crossing where he was found to be operating under the influence of narcotics as well as being in possession of a quantity of Oxycodone soaked in Carfentanyl prior to being transported to Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeville for treatment.
  • 5:56 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Spay & Neuter Animal Clinic at 21 Getsinger Street.
  • 8:34 a.m. – A burglary was reported at the Ridgeland High School playing field concession stand after a staff member discovered approximately $200 worth of items missing from inside.
  • 8:50 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Main Street Barbecue Restaurant at 8084 East Main Street.
  • 9:47 a.m. – Ridgeland Officers traveled to the Sheriff Al Cannon Detention Center at 3841 Leeds Avenue in North Charleston where inmate Katy Ellen Staples was turned over to their custody and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center in reference to outstanding warrants issued against her by the Ridgeland Police Department. Staples’ charges stemmed from a February 18th 2015 traffic stop at the intersection of North Jacob Smart Boulevard and North Green Street where she was cited and assigned a court date after being found in possession of an open container of beer as well as a quantity of marijuana.  She then failed to appear in Ridgeland Municipal Court on April 27th 2015 to answer to the charges where she was found guilty during a trial in absence and two warrants were issued for her arrest.
  • 10:31 a.m. – A gray Chevy Malibu was stopped for an improper lane change violation on I-95 South around the 17 mile marker where driver Robert Allen Lick was found to be operating under a suspended Georgia driver’s license with a previous conviction for no driver’s license appearing on his record as well as being listed as a wanted person by the Ridgeland Police Department in reference to an outstanding warrant.  He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as the vehicle was released to a licensed passenger.  Lick’s charges stemmed from a March 1st 2017 traffic stop on I-95 North at the 21 mile marker where he was cited for no driver’s license.  He then failed to appear in Ridgeland Municipal Court to answer to the charges on April 3rd where he was found guilty during a trial in absence and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
  • 1:28 p.m. – A verbal domestic dispute between a female complainant and her ex-spouse was reported at a residence on Captain Bill Road.
  • 2:20 p.m. – A dog was reportedly left alone inside of a blue pickup with no air conditioning in the parking lot of the KFC Restaurant at 8146 East Main Street.
  • 2:27 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on McTeer Street.
  • 3:09 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on First Avenue.
  • 6:01 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on Grays Highway at the North Green Street intersection.
  • 7:52 p.m. – A suspicious male listed as a wanted person by the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office stemming from an outstanding Family Court bench warrant was reported at Schooners Bar & Grill at 10953 North Jacob Smart Boulevard. Kenneth Eric Nix, 54 of Ridgeland, reportedly left the area driving a white Toyota Tundra pickup prior to Law Enforcement arrival.

MAY 9, 2017

  • 3:30 a.m. – A welfare check was conducted on a disabled Honda Accord on Highway 462 near the Old House Road intersection.
  • 4:10 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on Bailey Lane.  A second activation occurred at 3:30 p.m.
  • 8:30 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the DaVita Dialysis Clinic at 112 Weathersbee Street.
  • 9:00 a.m. – A silver Chevy Malibu was stopped for speeding on I-95 South around the 18 mile marker where the 26 year old male driver was found to be suffering a medical condition stemming from a diagnosed bipolar disorder. Officers made contact with a family member who had been granted power of attorney at which point they were advised that the driver had not been seen nor heard from since leaving Cranford NJ on May 8th and possibly posed a danger to himself or others.  He was taken into protective custody without incident and transported to Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeville for evaluation and treatment as a custody order was issued by the Jasper County Probate Office. Elite Towing took possession of the vehicle.
  • 12:53 p.m. – A legally parked and unoccupied black Dodge Durango was struck by a white Ford F150 pickup in the parking lot of Harvey’s Grocery Store at 8205 East Main Street.  The 51 year old female driver of the pickup then became argumentative with the owner of the Durango citing that his vehicle had been improperly parked.  No injuries were reported.
  • 3:12 p.m. – An assault was reported at the Ridgeland Alternative School at 456 Grays Highway after a 16 year old black male student from Hardeeville spit in the face of a staff member during a verbal dispute regarding his behavior.
  • 4:34 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 22 mile marker in reference to a white tractor trailer.
  • 5:55 p.m. – A black Honda Accord and a gold Honda Accord were involved in a collision at the intersection of Highway 462 and Deloss Point Road.  One female occupant was transported by EMS to Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeville for treatment.
  • 8:16 p.m. – A wallet was found lying on the ground outside of a residence on West Main Street belonging to a male subject out of Dawsonville GA.  The item was turned over to responding Officers for return to the rightful owner.
  • 8:34 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported at the intersection of Grays Highway and Airport Road in reference to a dark colored Ford F150 pickup.
  • 9:41 p.m. – A suspicious vehicle was reported in the parking lot of the Star Point BP Station at 11122 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.

MAY 8, 2017

  • 3:13 a.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 58 mile marker in reference to a Kia Sportage.
  • 5:53 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Piggly Wiggly Grocery Store at 10847 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.
  • 11:49 a.m. – Ridgeland Officers traveled to the Jasper County Detention Center at 12008 North Jacob Smart Boulevard in service of an outstanding warrant against inmate Gabriel Cuello-Antonio after information was received from the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department in North Carolina listing him as a wanted person stemming from an outstanding assault by strangulation warrant. Cuello-Antonio has been held at the Jasper County Detention Center under a federal ICE detainer since his arrest by RPD on May 6th for a no driver’s license violation.
  • 1:58 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on McTeer Street.
  • 2:16 p.m. – A white Kia Spectra was involved in a single vehicle collision on I-95 North around the 22 mile marker after the driver lost control and overturned off of the right side of the roadway.  One subject was treated and released on scene by EMS.
  • 2:35 p.m. – Jacque Rennia Pierce Jr., 30 of Ridgeland, was detained by Jasper County Sheriff’s Deputies on Shadetree Street and turned over to Ridgeland Officers in reference to an outstanding warrant stemming from a March 27th 2016 incident at The Palms Motel at 10735 South Jacob Smart Boulevard where he threw a pill bottle containing crack cocaine to the ground and fled the area from Officers investigating a domestic dispute.  He was later arrested for the charges at the same location on June 23rd 2016 by Officers who spotted him through an open door.  He then failed to appear in Ridgeland Municipal Court on July 11th 2016 to answer to the littering charge where he was found guilty during a trial in absence and a second warrant was issued for his arrest.  Once he was turned over to Ridgeland Officers he was transported to Ridgeland Town Hall at 1 Town Square where he paid the outstanding fine against him and was released.

  • 3:10 p.m. – A complaint was filed at a residence on Captain Bill Road after the homeowner discovered articles from his estranged spouse in his mailbox.
  • 6:04 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on Old House Road around the Honey Hill area in reference to a black Saturn Ion.
  • 6:19 p.m. – A red Chevy S10 pickup and a yellow Penske rental truck were involved in a collision in the parking lot of the Shell Station at 8309 East Main Street.  No injuries were reported.
  • 8:37 p.m. – A complaint was filed in reference to a group of people blocking the driveway entrance to Harvey’s Grocery Store at 8205 East Main Street.
  • 9:17 p.m. – A breach of trust report was filed at the Exxon Station at 8310 East Main Street after a female employee was captured on surveillance video stealing scratch off lottery tickets during her shift as cashier on April 14th.  The footage is being reviewed for pending charges.
  • 10:22 p.m. – A complaint was filed at a residence on Wiley Street in reference to a male subject allegedly soliciting a juvenile female.  This case is currently under investigation.

MAY 7, 2017

  • 2:19 a.m. – A suspicious white Toyota was reported in the parking lot of the Advance Auto Parts Store at 10424 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.
  • 4:22 a.m. – A complaint was filed at the Ridgeland Coin Laundry at 10246 South Jacob Smart Boulevard after trash cans inside the business were found overturned throughout.  Additional complaints were filed in reference to similar incidents at the Family Dollar Store at 73 South Green Street and the Short Stop BP Station at 10728 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.  Surveillance video is being reviewed for suspect identification.
  • 1:05 p.m. – A noise complaint was filed at a residence on First Avenue.
  • 2:03 p.m. .– A suspicious white Honda Pilot was reported on I-95 North around the 22 mile marker
  • 2:37 p.m. – A theft was reported at a residence on East Wilson Street after the homeowner discovered their wallet missing sometime during the evening of May 3rd.
  • 6:28 p.m. – Ridgeland Officers traveled to the Blanchard Cat Equipment Rental Depot at 50500 Whyte Hardee Boulevard where Hardeeville Officers conducting a traffic stop on a gray Volvo found driver Audriana Deshae Maymi to be listed as a wanted person by the Ridgeland Police Department.  She was turned over to the custody of responding Officers and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as Allen Towing took possession of the vehicle.  Maymi’s charges stemmed from a January 19th 2017 domestic dispute at her Mother’s residence on Colony Drive in the Bees Creek Plantation Community where she kicked in the front door of the home after being told to leave the property.
  • 7:26 p.m. – A white male with his young son were reportedly asking customers and passers by for money outside of the Wendy’s Restaurant at 8480 Grahamville Road.
  • 7:58 p.m. – A silver Honda Civic was reported stolen from outside of a residence on Shadetree Street in the Carters Mill Estates Community at approximately 3:30 p.m.  The vehicle was later recovered overturned and unoccupied by South Carolina Highway Patrol Officers on Tarboro Road at approximately 4:30 a.m. on May 8th.
  • 9:05 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 in reference to a black Chevy Silverado pickup traveling North between Hardeeville and Ridgeland.
  • 10:26 p.m. – A verbal domestic dispute between a husband and wife in a silver Dodge Caravan was reported on I-95 North at the exit 18 interchange.

MAY 6, 2017

  • 12:04 a.m. – A missing person report was filed at a residence on Wise Street after a 75 year old male houseguest hadn’t been seen nor heard from since leaving for Savannah GA around 10:30 a.m. on Saturday May 5th.  He ultimately returned without incident just before 8 a.m.
  • 12:22 a.m. – A silver Honda Pilot was stopped for speeding on I-95 South around the 23 mile marker where driver Gabriel Cuello-Antonio was found to be operating without a driver’s license.  He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as the vehicle was released to a licensed driver.
  • 2:12 a.m. – A white Toyota Avalon was reportedly involved in a single vehicle collision on I-95 North around the 18 mile marker. Responding Officers searched the area but were unable to locate any such collision scene.
  • 3:03 a.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 26 mile marker in reference to a dark colored pickup.
  • 6:41 a.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 25 mile marker in reference to a small white 4 door passenger car.
  • 10:25 a.m. – A reckless driver was reported on Grays Highway in reference to a red Ford F150 pickup traveling East around the Hagin Street intersection.
  • 1:00 p.m. – A suspicious white male was reported at the intersection of Grahamville and Henry Lawton Roads.
  • 1:59 p.m. – A red Honda CR-V and a blue Toyota Avalon were involved in a collision at the intersection of Highway 462 and Rice Shire Road.  No injuries were reported.
  • 9:38 p.m. – A noise complaint was filed at the intersection of East Adams and South Logan Streets.
  • 10:18 p.m. – Two suspicious persons were reported at the Turpin Park playground area at 901 North Logan Street.
  • 10:53 p.m. – A welfare check was conducted at a residence on Woods Court after an unknown person was reported on the property.
  • 10:57 p.m. – A complaint was filed on Woods Court in reference to lighting at a neighboring residence.
  • 11:00 p.m. – An intoxicated black female was reportedly kicking at a complainant’s door at Logan Lane Apartments at 544 South Logan Street.

MAY 5, 2017

  • 6:03 a.m. – A set of keys was discovered in the door lock of the State Farm Insurance Office at 10840 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.  The item was secured at the Ridgeland Police Department and ultimately returned to the rightful owner.
  • 7:30 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Ridgeland Boys & Girls Club at 913 Grays Highway.
  • 10:08 a.m. – A white Chevy Suburban was stopped for speeding on I-95 North around the 22 mile marker where driver William Edward Anderson, 51 of Little River SC, was found to be in possession of a quantity of marijuana.  He was cited for the offenses and assigned a court date prior to leaving the area.
  • 10:46 a.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North around the 18 mile marker in reference to a red Ford Mustang.
  • 11:35 a.m. – A reckless driver was reported on Highway 462 in reference to a silver Ford Fusion.
  • 2:26 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 33 mile marker in reference to an Isuzu Trooper.
  • 3:01 p.m. – A suspicious black male was reportedly assaulting customers and shouting obscenities inside of the Short Stop BP Station at 10728 South Jacob Smart Boulevard where responding Officers ultimately placed Harold James Garnes Jr. under arrest and transported him to the Jasper County Detention Center.
  • 4:40 p.m. – A blue Chevy Malibu and a silver Chevy Impala were involved in a collision in the parking lot of Baytree Apartments at 107 First Avenue.  No injuries were reported.
  • 5:10 p.m. – A theft was reported at Logan Lane Apartments at 544 South Logan Street after an Acer laptop computer was found to be missing by the complainant on May 1st.
  • 5:53 p.m. – A group of juveniles were reportedly playing with a large dog in the tennis court area at Turpin Park at 901 North Logan Street.
  • 7:05 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on Kato Bay Road in reference to a gray Chevy Silverado pickup traveling North in excess of 100 mph.  Ridgeland Officers soon after spotted the vehicle passing Club Pluto at which point a traffic stop was initiated as the vehicle came to a stop in front of A-1 Towing at 9888 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.  Driver Anthony L. Westberry, 31 of Ridgeland, was found to be lethargic and seemingly confused while speaking with Officers with the vehicle remaining in gear.  He quickly lost consciousness and appeared to have difficulty breathing as EMS was dispatched to the scene ultimately transporting him to Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeville.  An inventory of the vehicle revealed a quantity of Oxycodone soaked in Carfentanyl resulting in warrant affidavits being filed against Westberry charging him with DUI and possession of schedule II narcotics pending his release from the hospital.  The vehicle was turned over to Scott’s Automotive for removal from the area.
  • 7:45 p.m. – A white male was reportedly asking customers and passers by for money in the parking lot of the Bobops Convenience Store at 8548 Grahamville Road.
  • 7:45 p.m. – A suspicious black backpack was reported in the dining area of the Burger King Restaurant at 8257 East Main Street.  Responding Officers collected the item which was found to contain several pieces of identification, an iPad and US currency.  It was stored at the Ridgeland Police Department until the rightful owners arrived approximately 2 hours later to claim it.
  • 8:32 p.m. – A welfare check was conducted on a white female tenant at the Econo Lodge Motel at 511 James Taylor Drive after a relative received suspicious text messages.
  • 9:25 p.m. – A domestic dispute between a male and a female was reported at the Econo Lodge Motel at 511 James Taylor Drive.
  • 9:40 p.m. – A suspicious red vehicle was reported at the Ridgeland High School at 250 Jaguar Trail.
  • 9:48 p.m. – A civil dispute regarding parking was reported at a residence on Sailfish Circle in the Carters Mill Estates Community.
  • 10:15 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North around the 19 mile marker in reference to a white 4 door sedan.

MAY 4, 2017

  • 5:40 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Exxon Station at 8310 East Main Street.
  • 7:34 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Ridgeland Boys & Girls Club at 913 Grays Highway.
  • 7:56 a.m. – A gray Jeep Wrangler was stopped for speeding on I-95 South around the 23 mile marker where driver Darrin Marquise Howard was found to be listed as a wanted person by the Dekalb County GA Sheriff’s Office stemming from outstanding drug and traffic warrants.  He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center pending extradition back to Georgia as J&M Towing took possession of the vehicle.
  • 9:10 a.m. – A theft was reported at the Carolina Lodge Motel at 8260 East Main Street after a black female was captured on surveillance video entering an unoccupied white Honda Odyssey mini van in the parking lot during the early morning hours of May 1st and stealing an undisclosed amount of cash.  The footage is being reviewed for suspect identification and pending charges.
  • 9:33 a.m. – A noise complaint was filed at Heron Crossing Apartments at 72 Heron Crossing Drive in reference to loud music.
  • 10:13 a.m. – A black Kia Sedona was stopped for speeding on I-95 South around the 18 mile marker where driver Samantha M. Sanchez, 27 of New York NY, was found to be in possession of a quantity of marijuana.  She was cited for the offense and assigned a court date prior to leaving the area.
  • 10:39 a.m. – A property damage report was filed at the McDonald’s Restaurant at 8548 Grahamville Road after a tractor trailer struck a portion of the building while exiting the parking lot.  The parent company of the vehicle was contacted by responding Officers and advised of the collision.  No injuries were reported.
  • 1:26 p.m. – A burglary was reported at a residence on Ward Court in the Augusta Heights Community after the homeowners returned from work to find the front door kicked in and numerous items missing from inside.  Evidence collected at the scene has been submitted to the SLED Forensics Laboratory for analysis and suspect identification.
  • 3:29 p.m. – Ridgeland Officers responded to an alert issued by the Port Wentworth GA Police Department in reference to their Officers being in pursuit of a blue Honda Civic involved in several thefts at the Tanger Outlet Stores in Pooler GA.  RPD traffic Officers ultimately spotted the vehicle on I-95 North around the 18 mile marker where the driver accelerated in an aggressive manner in an attempt to evade the pursuing units until it was forced to stop around the 22 mile marker due to heavy traffic congestion where the black male driver and 2 black female passengers immediately exited and fled the area on foot . Both females were shortly after located by pursuing Officers and detained without further incident as Port Wentworth Officers arrived on scene to process the stolen items found inside of the vehicle prior to Eric’s Towing removing it from the area.
  • 4:52 p.m. – An animal complaint was filed at Heron Crossing Apartments at 72 Heron Crossing Drive in reference to 3 stray kittens on the property.
  • 5:09 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on South Jacob Smart Boulevard in front of the Advance Auto Parts Store in reference to a cream colored Kia sedan.
  • 5:18 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 26 mile marker in reference to a white tractor trailer.
  • 6:41 p.m. – A complaint was filed at a residence on Dolphin Drive after the caller became concerned that her juvenile son was possibly going to be assaulted by another male stemming from a fight at school earlier in the afternoon.
  • 11:19 p.m. – A welfare check was conducted on a female subject after the white Buick Park Avenue she was driving became stuck in a roadside drainage ditch on Fordville Road.

  • 3:23 a.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North around the 12 mile marker in reference to a Budget rental truck.
  • 5:22 a.m. – A suspicious white Chevy van was reported on West Main Street near the Floyd Street intersection.
  • 5:45 a.m. – A suspicious black female was reportedly knocking on several tenants’ doors at the Econo Lodge Motel at 511 James Taylor Drive.
  • 10:17 a.m. – A suspicious black male was reported at the Carolina Lodge Motel at 8260 East Main Street where responding Officers ultimately placed Jerrod Lamar Spann under arrest and transported him to the Jasper County Detention Center after finding him inside of a vacant room.
  • 2:23 p.m. – A blue Toyota Camry was stopped for driving left of center on I-95 South around the 18 mile marker where passenger Shamsuddin Ali Waters, 17 of Lynchburg VA, was found to be in possession of a quantity of marijuana.  He was cited for the offense and assigned a court date prior to leaving the area.
  • 5:46 p.m. – A silver Chrysler 200 was struck by a blue Dodge Caravan while parked unoccupied outside of the Rite Aid Pharmacy at 8225 East Main Street. The van then left the area without reporting the collision. 
  • 5:49 p.m. – A group of suspicious persons was reported on Oakridge South in the Oakridge Trailer Park Community on North Green Street.
  • 8:32 p.m. – Two suspicious white females were reported outside of a residence in the Oakridge Trailer Park Community.
  • 9:24 p.m. – A civil dispute between a customer and Management was reported at the New Hong Kong Restaurant at 8176 East Main Street.

MAY 2, 2017

  • 1:15 a.m. – A verbal domestic dispute between a male and a female was reported at The Palms Motel at 10735 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.
  • 8:03 a.m. – A suspicious person was reported at the Burger King Restaurant at 8257 East Main Street.
  • 9:13 a.m. – A gray Mitsubishi Lancer was stopped for a driving left of center violation on I-95 South around the 19 mile marker where driver Yennifer Quintero was found to be operating under a suspended Florida driver’s license with numerous driving under suspension convictions appearing on her record.  She was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as Blatchley’s Towing took possession of the vehicle.
  • 10:17 a.m. – An assault was reported at the EZ Stop IV Station at 80 Blue Heron Drive after an intoxicated white male initiated a fight with another male customer in the parking lot before leaving the area walking West prior to Law Enforcement arrival.  Christopher Andrew Sorensen was soon after spotted by responding Officers hiding behind a dumpster in the Burger King Restaurant parking lot consuming alcohol where he was ultimately placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.
  • 1:23 p.m. – A blue Toyota Camry was stopped for an improper lane change on I-95 South around the 19 mile marker where passenger Victoria Noelle Warner was found to be in possession of a quantity of heroin, Xanax and liquid THC. She was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as the driver was issued a citation for the lane change violation and assigned a court date prior to leaving the area.
  • 1:46 p.m. – A civil dispute was reported at the Shinetown Distillery at 857 James Taylor Drive.
  • 2:37 p.m. – Ridgeland Officers assisted Jasper County Deputies at a residence on West Adams Street where Sheniqua Mona Clark, 24 of Yemassee SC, was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center in reference to an outstanding breach of trust warrant issued by the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office. Clark’s charges stemmed from a March 23rd 2017 incident at the Circle K Convenience Store at 14-D Mark Cummings Road in Hardeeville where she was captured on surveillance video stealing money from the business register via a Green Dot prepaid debit card while employed as a cashier.

    3:37 p.m. – A suspicious black female was reported at the Fiddlers Seafood Restaurant at 7738 West Main Street.

  • 6:20 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 in reference to a gold Nissan Altima traveling North between Hardeeville and Ridgeland.
  • 7:07 p.m. – A verbal domestic dispute between a male and a female was reported at a residence on Brandon Cove in the North Ridge Community.
  • 10:00 p.m. – A verbal domestic dispute between a male and a female was reported in the parking lot of the Family Dollar Store at 73 South Green Street.
  • 10:59 p.m. – A suspicious black male was reported on Oakridge South in the Oakridge Trailer Park Community on North Green Street.
  • 11:10 p.m. – A civil dispute was reported at the Waffle House Restaurant at 8185 East Main Street after a male complainant drove an unknown male from Florida to Ridgeland but was not paid the agreed upon amount. 

MAY 1, 2017

  • 5:31 a.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 27 mile marker in reference to a burgundy Ford Taurus.
  • 8:33 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Jasper County Courthouse at 265 Russell Street.
  • 10:35 a.m. – A harassment complaint was filed at Logan Lane Apartments at 544 South Logan Street in reference to a male subject allegedly following the female complainant.
  • 11:14 a.m. – A male subject was reportedly riding a bicycle on I-95 North around the 24 mile marker.
  • 11:18 a.m. – A white Hyundai Sonata and a gold Nissan Maxima were involved in a collision at the intersection of Highway 17 and Smiths Crossing.  Six occupants were transported by EMS to Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeville for treatment.
  • 3:02 p.m. – Officers responded to a report of a male and a female arguing in the parking lot of Logan Lane Apartments at 544 South Logan Street where Zonova Stephanie Carter was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center after being found intoxicated as she attempted to leave the area as a passenger in a Cadillac sedan after seeing Law Enforcement arriving on scene.  Further investigation revealed her to be listed as a wanted person by the Ridgeland Police Department stemming from an October 20th 2016 incident at the Waffle House Restaurant at 8185 East Main Street where she was arrested and charged with public disorderly conduct after being found intoxicated on the business property.  She was later found guilty of the charges in Ridgeland Municipal Court on November 7th 2016 and placed on a time payment plan to settle the court ordered fines which she failed to comply with resulting in a warrant being issued for her arrest.
  • 3:30 p.m. – A suspicious black Honda was reported in the parking lot of the Econo Lodge Motel at 511 James Taylor Drive.
  • 3:57 p.m. – A black Honda Accord was stopped for a suspended tag violation in the parking lot of the Waffle House Restaurant at 8185 East Main Street where the 16 year old male juvenile driver was found to be operating with no valid insurance coverage as well as under a South Carolina beginner’s permit without a licensed driver accompanying him.  He was cited for the offenses and assigned a court date prior to leaving the area as Hook Ups Towing took possession of the vehicle.
  • 6:27 p.m. – A harassment complaint was filed at Baytree Apartments at 107 First Avenue in reference to an intoxicated female allegedly cursing at the male complainant.
  • 8:02 p.m. – A black sedan and a silver sedan were reportedly racing one another traveling West on Old House Road.
