DAILY CRIME REPORTS – April, 2017

THE FOLLOWING INCIDENTS ARE AN ACCOUNT OF CALLS AND CASES RESPONDED TO BY OFFICERS OF THE RIDGELAND POLICE DEPARTMENT. THESE CASES ARE CLOSED OR CURRENTLY UNDER INVESTIGATION. APRIL 30, 2017

  • 12:51 a.m. – A suspicious person was reported at the corner of Third Avenue and Weathersbee Street.
  • 6:29 a.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North around the 17 mile marker in reference to a silver Jeep Wrangler.
  • 12:08 p.m. – A white female in a black pickup allegedly pointed a handgun at a male complainant in the parking lot of the Citgo Station at 107 Sycamore Drive.
  • 12:59 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Grayco Building Supply Store at 119 Industrial Park Road.  A second activation occurred at 3:10 p.m.
  • 1:07 p.m. – A theft was reported at The Siesta Motel at 10735 South Jacob Smart Boulevard after a male allegedly stole a set of keys from the female complainant during a verbal domestic dispute.
  • 5:24 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 36 mile marker in reference to a red Nissan Maxima.

APRIL 29, 2017

  • 2:36 a.m. – A property damage report was filed by a motorist on I-95 North around the 18 mile marker after their Hyundai Accent was struck by a SCDOT warning cone thrown into the air by a GMC Sierra pickup traveling in front of the complainant causing damage to the hood and windshield.  No injuries were reported.
  • 12:44 p.m. – An animal complaint was filed at a residence on Old House Road after two small puppies were found abandoned on the complainant’s property.
  • 2:09 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Ridgeland Coin Laundry at 10246 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.  A second activation occurred at 5:21 p.m.
  • 3:51 p.m. – Ridgeland Officers assisted Jasper County Deputies in responding to an activated alarm at a residence on Old House Road.
  • 8:44 p.m. – A welfare check was conducted at Logan Lane Apartments at 544 South Logan Street after an open line 911 call was received by Jasper County Emergency Services.
  • 9:33 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 in reference to a beige Buick Enclave traveling North between Hardeeville and Ridgeland.
  • 10:03 p.m. – A noise complaint was filed at Heron Crossing Apartments at 72 Heron Crossing Drive in reference to loud music coming from a neighboring residence.
  • 10:17 p.m. – A burglary was reported at a residence on Live Oak Farm Road after the homeowner discovered a rifle and ammunition missing from inside as well as several household items out of place.  Several pieces of evidence collected at the scene have been submitted to the SLED Forensics Laboratory for suspect identification and pending charges.

APRIL 28, 2017

  • 1:02 a.m. – Ridgeland Officers assisted Jasper County Deputies in responding to a report of a suspicious black male outside of a residence at the intersection of Captain Bill and Henry Lawton Roads.
  • 7:21 a.m. – An animal complaint was filed on Sailfish Circle in the Carters Mill Estates Community in reference to a pit bull reportedly roaming the area.
  • 1:34 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on Kato Bay Road in reference to a burgundy Chevy Silverado pickup.
  • 1:59 p.m. – A green Ford F150 pickup was stopped for displaying two different state tags, (FL & VA), on I-95 South around the 18 mile marker where driver Thomas Sisson was found to be operating under a suspended Florida driver’s license.  He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as the vehicle was released to a licensed passenger.
  • 3:14 p.m. – A Cadillac Deville and a Toyota Corolla were involved in a collision at the intersection of Grays Highway and Live Oak Drive.  No injuries were reported.
  • 4:56 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported at the intersection of Highway 462 and Cherry Hill Road in reference to a Honda passenger car.
  • 5:04 p.m. – A suspicious black male was reported at the Econo Lodge Motel at 511 James Taylor Drive.
  • 5:57 p.m. – A fight in progress involving numerous individuals was reported in the parking lot area of the Carolina Lodge Motel at 8260 East Main Street.
  • 8:11 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 in reference to a Chrysler PT Cruiser traveling North between Hardeeville and Ridgeland.
  • 11:08 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North around the 12 mile marker in reference to a silver Dodge pickup towing an enclosed white utility trailer.

APRIL 27, 2017

  • 5:12 a.m. – Ridgeland Officers assisted Jasper County Deputies in responding to a burglary of a residence on Chesterfield Road after a black male broke into the home where he held a Mother and her 11 year old daughter at gunpoint before fleeing the area after being fended off by his victim.
  • 5:45 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Regions Bank at 11004 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.
  • 7:46 a.m. – A Lexus i250, a Nissan Sentra and a Chevy Cobalt were involved in a collision on Grays Highway near the Oak Plantation Drive intersection.  No injuries were reported.
  • 9:24 a.m. – A suspicious silver Kia Spectra was reported on West Main Street near the Green Street intersection.
  • 11:08 a.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 28 mile marker in reference to a green tractor trailer.
  • 12:41 p.m. – A property damage report was filed by a passing motorist on I-95 North around the 23 mile marker after a piece of metal from another vehicle came loose and struck the complainant’s.  No injuries were reported.
  • 2:33 p.m. – A Chevy Sonic and a Chevy C-1500 pickup were involved in a collision at the intersection of North Jacob Smart Boulevard and East Wilson Street.  One female was transported by EMS to Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeville for treatment.
  • 3:05 p.m. – A shoplifting was reported at the Sunoco Station at 11965 North Jacob Smart Boulevard after a black female was captured on surveillance video stealing merchandise from the business.  Responding Officers located suspect Cassandra Jean Hunter still on scene, having just been released from the Jasper County Detention Center less than half an hour earlier following her April 17th arrest by Hardeeville Police under charges of prostitution and public disorderly conduct.  She was taken into custody and returned to the Jasper County Detention Center after a brief attempt to resist the arresting Officer.
  • 6:46 p.m. – Ridgeland Officers assisted EMS Personnel at a residence on Shadetree Street in the Carters Mill Estates Community after a 9 year old male received a possible leg fracture on a trampoline.  The patient was transported by EMS to Savannah Memorial Hospital for treatment.
  • 7:18 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported at The Siesta Motel at 10530 South Jacob Smart Boulevard in reference to a white Chevy Corvette.

APRIL 26, 2017

  • 1:44 a.m. – A suspicious person was reported at the Waffle House Restaurant at 8185 East Main Street.
  • 4:24 a.m. – A suspicious white male and white female were reported in the parking lot of the Gulf Station at 8250 East Main Street where responding Officers discovered two articles of drug paraphernalia inside of the vehicle the pair were driving.  The evidence was seized for destruction prior to the subjects leaving the area.
  • 8:03 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on Ike Street in the North Ridge Community.
  • 10:31 a.m. – An animal complaint was filed at the Oakridge Trailer Park Community on North Green Street.
  • 12:16 p.m. – A 15 year old white male student reportedly left school grounds without permission at the Ridgeland Alternative School at 456 Grays Highway.
  • 12:36 p.m. – A welfare check was conducted on a white male pedestrian standing on the overpass at the I-95 exit 18 interchange.
  • 12:39 p.m. – Jasper County Deputies responded to the Denny’s Restaurant at 3536 Point South Drive after receiving information that employee Deshone O’Neal Allen was inside of the business.  A foot pursuit ensued as Allen fled from the area upon seeing Law Enforcement arrival ultimately ending with his apprehension in the parking lot of the Knights Inn Motel at 420 Campground Road with an additional charge of resisting arrest.  Allen was listed as a wanted person by the Sheriff’s Office in reference to an April 17th 2017 incident at Denny’s where he was captured on surveillance video breaking into a cash register and stealing money on several occasions during his shifts over the course of 2 days.  He was also listed as a wanted person by the Ridgeland Police Department stemming from a December 22nd 2016 incident in the parking lot of the Quality Inn Motel at 221 James Taylor Drive where he was captured on surveillance video setting fire to an unoccupied white Honda Accord and then fleeing the area on foot.  He is currently being held at the Jasper County Detention Center.
  • 2:05 p.m. – Officers responded to the parking lot of the former Jasper’s Porch Restaurant at 153 James Taylor Drive in reference to ongoing complaints of two suspicious persons in a black pickup and a black Hyundai passenger car possibly engaging in illegal activity.  Alberto Rodriguez-Barrera, 44 of Lilburn GA, and Norma Casilla, 33 of Ridgeland, were located inside of one of the vehicles at the scene ultimately resulting in both being placed on trespass notice for the property with Barrera receiving an additional charge of engaging in prostitution.
  • 3:35 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 33 mile marker in reference to a blue Jeep.
  • 3:37 p.m. – An animal complaint was filed on McTeer Street in reference to an ongoing issue with a dog from a neighboring home coming onto the complainant’s property in an aggressive manner.
  • 4:20 p.m. – A white Honda Accord was stopped for an unregistered tag violation at the intersection of Highway 17 and Mango Drive were driver Joshua Dean Chase was found to be operating with no valid insurance coverage as well as under a suspended Tennessee driver’s license stemming from a previous DUI conviction.  He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as J&M Towing took possession of the vehicle.
  • 4:26 p.m. – A blue briefcase was reported missing at the Jasper County School District Office at 10908 North Jacob Smart Boulevard after being accidentally left on top of the complainant’s vehicle when they drove away from the property on Monday April 24th at around 9:30 p.m.
  • 6:30 p.m. – A verbal domestic dispute between an estranged husband and wife regarding child custody was reported at a residence on First Avenue.
  • 11:51 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North around the 14 mile marker in reference to a silver Chevy Impala.

APRIL 25, 2017

  • 12:44 a.m. – A suspicious white male was reported at the Ridgeland Coin Laundry at 10246 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.
  • 12:50 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Spay & Neuter Animal Clinic at 21 Getsinger Street.
  • 10:41 a.m. – Ridgeland Officers transported a 14 year old female Ridgeland resident from Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeville to Palmetto Health Baptist in Columbia SC for evaluation and treatment.
  • 12:41 p.m. – A suspicious white male was reported in front of the Ridgeland Post Office at 7554 West Main Street.
  • 1:06 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North around the 18 mile marker in reference to a flatbed logging truck.
  • 2:03 p.m. – A black female assaulted a male subject in the parking lot of the Short Stop BP Station at 10728 South Jacob Smart Boulevard before leaving the area on foot walking East on Adams Street to the Logan Lane Apartment complex. The male victim left the business property prior to Law Enforcement arrival.
  • 3:44 p.m. – A suspicious silver 4 door vehicle was reported on the property of the Ridgeland Correctional Institution at 5 Correctional Road.
  • 4:27 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on Great Swamp Road at the Lynch’s Ford intersection in reference to a white GMC pickup.
  • 9:38 p.m. – A blue Ford F150 and a white Ford F150 were involved in a collision in front of the Piggly Wiggly Grocery Store at 10847 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.  No injuries were reported.
  • 10:46 p.m. – A domestic dispute between a male and a female was reported at Baytree Apartments at 107 First Avenue.  A second call was received from the female party at 11:46 p.m. after receiving unwanted text messages.

APRIL 24, 2017

  • 7:53 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at Ken’s Tire Service Center at 10464 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.
  • 9:17 a.m. – A burglary was reported at the Jasper County Maintenance Center at 623 Live Oak Road after several landscaping and power tools were found to have been stolen from inside of a locked storage shed sometime after 5 p.m. on Saturday April 22nd.
  • 11:29 a.m. – A welfare check was conducted on a couple inside of a black Honda Accord in the parking lot of the Jasper County Government Building at 358 Third Avenue where responding Officers discovered an unresponsive 34 year old female.  She was transported by EMS to Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeville for evaluation and treatment.
  • 12:26 p.m. – A black Ford Expedition was stopped for a failure to maintain lane violation on I-95 South around the 19 mile marker where passenger Darlene Seckman, 23 of Manchester NH, was found to be in possession of a quantity of marijuana.  She was cited for the offense and assigned a court date prior to leaving the area.
  • 12:32 p.m. – A possible hit and run was reported in reference to a vehicle allegedly sustaining damage on Saturday April 22nd while parked at the Fiddler’s Seafood Market at 572 South Green Street.
  • 3:05 p.m. – A domestic dispute between a male and a female was reported at Logan Lane Apartments at 544 South Logan Street.
  • 5:59 p.m. – A welfare check was conducted at Baytree Apartments at 107 First Avenue after a 911 hang up call was received by Jasper County Emergency Services.
  • 6:41 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Spay & Neuter Animal Clinic at 21 Getsinger Street.
  • 7:08 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 in reference to a white tractor trailer traveling North between Hardeeville and Ridgeland.
  • 9:10 p.m. – A suspicious black male was reported at the Dollar General Store at 8123 East Main Street.
  • 10:41 p.m. – An 18 year old male was voluntarily transported by EMS from a residence on Live Oak Farm Road to Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeville for evaluation after making statements that he may wish to do harm to himself.

APRIL 23, 2017

  • 12:19 a.m. – A noise complaint was filed on First Avenue in reference to loud music coming from a neighboring residence.
  • 3:26 a.m. – Ridgeland Officers assisted Jasper County Deputies in responding to a domestic dispute between a Mother and her 22 year old daughter at a residence on Bees Creek Road.
  • 12:00 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North around the 12 mile marker in reference to a black Ford F150 pickup.
  • 2:03 p.m. – A blue Toyota Camry and a red Chevy Suburban were involved in a collision at the intersection of Highway 462 and Rice Shire Road.  No injuries were reported.
  • 3:54 p.m. – A silver Ford Focus, a blue Chevy Equinox, a gray Ford Explorer, a white Subaru Forester and a white Hyundai Santa Fe were involved in a collision on I-95 North around the 18 mile marker.  No injuries were reported.
  • 7:19 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the All Print Custom Tees Shop at 8120 East Main Street.
  • 7:45 p.m. – Two juvenile males were reportedly throwing stones at passing vehicles on I-95 from the Juanita White crosswalk.
  • 9:09 p.m. – A gold Chevy Silverado was stopped in front of the Piggly Wiggly Grocery Store at 10847 North Jacob Smart Boulevard after disregarding a traffic light at the intersection of Highway 278 where driver Shawn Todd Hugue was found to be operating under the influence of alcohol.  He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as J&M Towing took possession of the vehicle.
  • 9:43 p.m. – A welfare check was conducted on a male subject in the parking lot of The Palms Motel at 10735 South Jacob Smart Boulevard after he was dropped off by a female during a verbal dispute.

APRIL 22, 2017

  • 12:46 a.m. – A welfare check was conducted on a white male lying on the ground in the parking lot area at The Morris Center for Lowcountry Heritage at 10782 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.
  • 2:39 a.m. – Ridgeland Officers assisted Jasper County Deputies in responding to a fight in progress at Club Pluto at 8812 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.
  • 8:19 a.m. – A suspicious black male was reported at the Ridgeland Tire & Auto Repair Center at 11263 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.
  • 8:28 a.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North around the 17 mile marker in reference to a black Mitsubishi.
  • 9:07 a.m. – A civil dispute between a tenant and Management was reported at the Quality Inn Motel at 221 James Taylor Drive.
  • 10:25 a.m. – A silver Honda Accord, a black Honda Accord and a Peterbilt tractor trailer were involved in a collision on I-95 North around the 20 mile marker.  No injuries were reported.
  • 12:33 p.m. – An iPhone was reported stolen from a tenant’s room at the Carolina Lodge Motel at 8260 East Main Street.  The complainant declined in providing the known suspect’s name.
  • 3:05 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Ridgeland Boys & Girls Club at 913 Grays Highway.
  • 6:54 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North around the 11 mile marker in reference to a black Dodge pickup.
  • 7:08 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North around the 12 mile marker in reference to a brown Ford F350 pickup.

APRIL 21, 2017

  • 12:08 a.m. – A verbal domestic dispute between a male and a female was reported at a residence on First Avenue.
  • 4:54 a.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 30 mile marker in reference to a dump truck.
  • 8:42 a.m. – A gray Chrysler 200 and a silver Chevy Camaro were involved in a collision on West Main Street at the Railroad Avenue intersection.  No injuries were reported.
  • 9:41 a.m. – A stray Boston Terrier was reported on South Green Street walking towards West Main Street.
  • 2:08 p.m. – A suspicious white male was reported at a recently vacated residence on East Adams Street.
  • 2:44 p.m. – A mobile home being moved to a new location became stuck on South Logan Street blocking the Northbound lane of travel for a short time.
  • 4:52 p.m. – A report of several windows being broken out of a vacant home was reported on Shadetree Street in the Carters Mill Estates Community.
  • 4:56 p.m. – A welfare check was conducted at Regions Bank at 11004 North Jacob Smart Boulevard after a 911 hang up call was received by Jasper County Emergency Services.
  • 5:30 p.m. – Ridgeland Officers traveled to the Jasper County Detention Center at 12008 North Jacob Smart Boulevard in service of an outstanding warrant against inmate Aliesha Alan Galvin following her arrest by the Hardeeville Police Department on an unrelated charge of financial transaction card fraud.  Galvin’s charges with RPD stemmed from an October 16th 2016 at the Jasper County Detention Center where, while incarcerated for a shoplifting offense by the Hardeeville Police Department, she intentionally caused damage to a fire sprinkler head in an attempt to flood her cell.  She was later found guilty of the charge in Ridgeland Municipal Court on November 7th 2016 and placed on a time payment plan to settle the court ordered fines which she failed to comply with resulting in a warrant being issued for her arrest.
  • 5:44 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 19 mile marker in reference to a white GMC Yukon.
  • 5:53 p.m. – A gray Honda Civic was involved in a single vehicle collision on I-95 North around the 19 mile marker.  No injuries were reported.
  • 9:27 p.m. – A set of keys was reported missing from a residence at Baytree Apartments at 107 First Avenue.

APRIL 20, 2017

  • 2:17 a.m. – A white female was reportedly asking for money at a residence on Second Avenue.  She was last seen leaving the area in a white Ford F150 pickup.
  • 4:19 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Grayco Building Supply Store at 119 Industrial Park Road.
  • 5:50 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Citgo Station at 107 Sycamore Drive.
  • 7:16 a.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North around the 9 mile marker in reference to a white tractor trailer.
  • 8:51 a.m. – A theft was reported at the Econo Lodge Motel at 511 James Taylor Drive after a tenant discovered an Echo backpack leaf blower missing from the bed of his pickup after being left in the parking lot area during the overnight hours. Surveillance video is being reviewed for suspect identification and pending charges.
  • 10:21 a.m. – A gray Volvo was stopped for speeding on I-95 South around the 22 mile marker where driver Joseph August Hoeffner III was found to be operating without a driver’s license.  He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as the vehicle was released to a licensed passenger.
  • 1:15 p.m. – An animal complaint was filed at the corner of East Woodlawn and Wise Streets in reference to a small dog running loose in the area.
  • 3:21 p.m. – A complaint was filed at The Siesta Motel at 10530 South Jacob Smart Boulevard where the Property Manager requested a black male and a black female be placed on trespass notice for The Siesta, The Palms & the Ridgeland Weekly Rentals business properties.  The pair left the area prior to Law Enforcement arrival but were soon after located walking at the intersection of East Woodlawn and Wise Streets where the male party, identified as a 16 year old juvenile currently on probation with the Department of Juvenile Justice, immediately became uncooperative and ultimately fled the area on foot running East to the Logan Lane Apartment complex on South Logan Street.  The female subject, 20 year old Malaysia Shalik Darien of Garnett SC, was issued a notice without incident and left the area.
  • 4:54 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on Bees Creek Road in reference to a green passenger car traveling North around the Sweet William Road intersection.
  • 5:24 p.m. – A larceny was reported at the McDonald’s Restaurant at 8548 Grahamville Road in reference to a bag containing several pieces of identification and cash missing from the vehicle the complainant was driving after a separate male party was allowed to take the vehicle to a local car wash. Surveillance video is being reviewed for possible charges.
  • 5:52 p.m. – Ridgeland Officers assisted Jasper County Sheriff’s Deputies and the Hardeeville Police Department after a Deputy and a Hardeeville Officer were struck by gunfire while responding to a domestic dispute at a residence on Sanders Road in Hardeeville.  The 26 year old Hispanic male suspect was killed by Hardeeville Officers returning fire and the scene was secured as SLED Investigators responded to the area.  Both Officers struck by the deceased suspect were airlifted from the scene to Savannah Memorial Hospital for treatment.
  • 6:27 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the State Farm Insurance Office at 10840 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.
  • 6:39 p.m. – A suspicious white female pedestrian was reportedly shouting at passing motorists and jumping in and out of moving traffic on Old House Road around the Wellington intersection.
  • 9:58 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North around the 19 mile marker in reference to a gray Ford Focus.

APRIL 19, 2017

  • 6:03 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at Harvey’s Grocery Store at 8205 East Main Street.
  • 6:30 a.m. – A burglary was reported at a privately owned storage building on Sisters Ferry Road after the owner discovered three rifles and several knives missing from inside.  Evidence collected at the scene has been submitted to the Beaufort County Forensics Laboratory for analysis and suspect identification.
  • 8:09 a.m. – A reckless driver was reported on South Jacob Smart Boulevard in reference to a white Dodge pickup traveling North around the Augusta Avenue intersection.
  • 10:01 a.m. – A welfare check was conducted at the Travelodge Motel at 8216 East Main Street in reference to a 22 year old female reported missing to the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office from a residence on Langfordville Road possibly being registered as a tenant. Responding Officers were unable to locate the subject who ultimately returned home of her own accord several hours later.
  • 10:34 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on Wiley Street.
  • 12:24 p.m. – A suspicious green van was reported at the Jasper County Office of Technology & Information at 262 Third Avenue.
  • 1:06 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Kingdom Touch Ministries Church at 6714 Tillman Road where an open door was discovered with no persons inside and no evidence of criminal activity.  Officers remained on scene until a staff member’s arrival.
  • 2:49 p.m. – Two dogs were reportedly left inside of a locked vehicle with no air conditioning in the parking lot of the Econo Lodge Motel at 511 James Taylor Drive.
  • 7:01 p.m. – A complaint was filed of a white male with a small child asking customers and passers by for money in the parking lot of the McDonald’s Restaurant at 8548 Grahamville Road.  Responding Officers placed Keith Brian Low, 46 of Ridgeland, on trespass notice for the business property at Management’s request.
  • 7:11 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Hargray Storage Facility at 308 North Railroad Avenue.
  • 7:23 p.m. – A white female pedestrian was reportedly walking South on I-95 around the 19 mile marker.  Responding Officers located the subject and escorted her to the exit 21 area.
  • 7:25 p.m. – A theft was reported at the Unique Impressions Hair Salon at 7716 West Main Street after two black females left the business without paying a nearly $1,000 bill for services rendered.  They were last seen traveling North on Green Street in the vehicle pictured below with a temporary paper tag and are believed to reside in the Beaufort area by the names “Quanisha” & “Kim”.  If you have any information on the individuals pictured here please contact Sgt.   • 8:22 p.m. – A property damage report was filed at Baytree Apartments at 107 First Avenue after a verbal dispute between a Mother and son ended with him smashing the complainant’s cell phone on the ground before fleeing the area on foot prior to Law Enforcement arrival.  A warrant affidavit has been filed against Joquan Markell Bolden,19 of Ridgeland, charging him with malicious injury to personal property.

APRIL 18, 2017

  • 2:15 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Short Stop BP Station at 10728 South Jacob Smart Boulevard where Ramoan Elliot Chester was found standing in the parking lot armed with a large pitchfork having just broken the front window glass of the business entry door.  He was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.  A review of surveillance footage for court purposes revealed Chester also breaking a window glass at the Creative Living by Design Furniture Store at 7797 West Main Street just moments before the BP incident resulting in an additional charge.
  • 10:37 a.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 26 mile marker in reference to a white Lincoln sedan.
  • 2:59 p.m. – A suspicious white Chevy Tahoe was reported in the parking lot area of the Quality Inn Motel at 221 James Taylor Drive.
  • 6:17 p.m. – A domestic dispute between a male and a female with a one year old child in common was reported at Baytree Apartments at 107 First Avenue where Shakeemiah Roshane Frost was ultimately placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center having caused injury to the male victim and his cell phone.
  • 6:18 p.m. – Marcus Lavaughn Burrison was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center in reference to an outstanding warrant issued by the Ridgeland Police Department after Officers responding to an unrelated domestic dispute spotted him in the parking lot of Baytree Apartments at 107 First Avenue.  Burrison’s charges stemmed from a December 8th 2016 theft at the Short Stop BP Station at 10728 South Jacob Smart Boulevard where he was captured on surveillance video stealing a wallet accidentally left on the front counter of the business by a customer standing in line in front of him.
  • 6:44 p.m. – An animal complaint was filed at the Econo Lodge Motel at 511 James Taylor Drive after a copperhead snake was found in one of the business stairwells.  The animal was later killed by a tenant after reappearing at 9:00 p.m.
  • 9:18 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Grayco Building Supply Store at 119 Industrial Park Road.
  • 11:06 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Palmetto Eye Specialists Office at 10911 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.
  • 11:14 p.m. – A suspicious person was reported in the parking lot area of the Pizza Bella Restaurant at 8196 East Main Street.

APRIL 17, 2017

  • 8:59 a.m. – A red Ford Expedition was stopped for an improper temporary dealer tag on I-95 South around the 19 mile marker where driver Joseph Stefan Jasmin provided Officers with a family member’s name and date of birth in an effort to conceal his identity due to being listed as a wanted person by the Richland County Sheriff’s Office owing nearly $30,000 in child support.  Further investigation revealed him to be operating under a suspended South Carolina driver’s license with no valid insurance coverage was well as being in possession of a quantity of marijuana.  He was ultimately positively identified through a previous booking photo sent from Richland County at which point he was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as Blatchley’s Towing took possession of the vehicle.
  • 10:11 a.m. – A black Ford Taurus and a white Dodge Caravan were involved in a collision at the intersection of Third Avenue and Grays Highway.  One male passenger was transported by EMS to Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeville for treatment.
  • 10:53 a.m. – An alert was issued to South Carolina Law Enforcement by the US Marshals Fugitive Task Force in reference to a white Chevy Cruze being operated by a male identified as Ricky Lee Conner Jr. who was reportedly traveling North from Saint George GA to Longs SC.  Conner was listed as a wanted person by the Charlton County GA Sheriff’s Office in reference to a stabbing incident that occurred on April 16th in that jurisdiction.  Responding Ridgeland Officers and Jasper County Sheriff’s Deputies soon after spotted the vehicle traveling North on I-95 at the exit 18 interchange resulting in a traffic stop around the 23 mile marker where Conner was taken into custody and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center pending extradition back to Georgia.  His 12 year old daughter who was traveling with him was later turned over to the custody of her Mother arriving from Longs SC as A-1 Towing took possession of the white Chevy Cruze the pair had been traveling in.
  • 1:03 p.m. – A red Ford Fusion and a white Sterling trash collection vehicle were involved in a collision at the intersection of North Jacob Smart Boulevard and East Main Street.  No injuries were reported.
  • 1:36 p.m. – A possible theft was reported at The Siesta Motel at 10530 South Jacob Smart Boulevard after a white male was allegedly witnessed stealing hand tools.
  • 1:37 p.m. – A hit and run was reported at the Grayco Building Supply Store at 119 Industrial Park Road in reference to the complainant’s silver Saturn Ion allegedly being struck by another vehicle while legally parked and unoccupied on Wednesday April 12th.  Surveillance footage is being reviewed for suspect identification and pending charges.
  • 3:45 p.m. – A red Isuzu pickup and a white Honda CR-V were involved in a collision at the intersection of West Adams Street and South Jacob Smart Boulevard.  One female passenger was transported by EMS to Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeville for treatment.
  • 4:10 p.m. – A green Mercury Grand Marquis was involved in a single vehicle collision at the intersection of Highway 462 and Rice Shire Road after the driver lost control and struck a roadside drainage ditch.  No injuries were reported.
  • 4:37 p.m. – A Kia Sedona and a Buick Century were involved in a collision in the parking lot of the Plantation Inn Motel at 11433 North Jacob Smart Boulevard. No injuries were reported.
  • 5:11 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on East Frontage Road in reference to a beige passenger car.
  • 9:03 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Palmetto Eye Specialists Office at 10911 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.  A second activation occurred at 9:18 p.m.
  • 9:50 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 33 mile marker in reference to a blue Dodge Ram pickup.
  • 10:57 p.m. – A suspicious black male was reported in the parking lot area of the Rite Aid Pharmacy at 8225 East Main Street.

APRIL 16, 2017

  • 12:02 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Grayco Building Supply Store at 119 Industrial Park Road.
  • 12:22 a.m. – A noise complaint was filed in reference to loud music at a residence on Shadetree Street in the Carters Mill Estates Community.
  • 12:40 a.m. – A disturbance was reported at the Waffle House Restaurant at 8185 East Main Street after a male customer began pacing the dining area of the business while shouting profanities towards staff members.  Responding Officers ultimately placed Alex Praylow under arrest and transported him to the Jasper County Detention Center after finding him to be grossly intoxicated.
  • 2:21 a.m. – A welfare check was conducted at a residence on Brandon Cove in the North Ridge Community after the homeowner became concerned that there may be someone trespassing on the property.
  • 2:52 a.m. – A welfare check was conducted on a white female in the parking lot of the Subway Restaurant at 8234 East Main Street.
  • 3:40 a.m. – An assault was reported at a residence on First Avenue after a verbal dispute ended with the female complainant being struck in the face and dragged by her hair for several feet by an intoxicated male acquaintance who then fled the area on foot running West prior to Law Enforcement arrival.  Michael Alan Shuman ultimately returned to the home of his own accord as responding Officers were gathering evidence at which point he was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.
  • 12:41 p.m. – A suspicious Hispanic male in a gold Chevy Malibu was reported at the intersection of Sycamore Drive and Grahamville Road.
  • 1:08 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on Kato Bay Road in reference to a white Jeep Wrangler.
  • 1:54 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on Highway 462 in reference to a white single cab pickup traveling West near the Marsh Cove intersection.
  • 2:02 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 38 mile marker in reference to a black Mercedes sedan.
  • 2:37 p.m. – A harassment complaint was filed at The Siesta Motel at 10530 South Jacob Smart Boulevard in reference to unwanted text messages.  An additional complaint was filed at 5:46 p.m.
  • 3:04 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 26 mile marker in reference to a gray Kia SUV.
  • 4:12 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North around the 18 mile marker in reference to a white BMW Z4 with a black convertible top.
  • 4:45 p.m. – A silver Nissan Rogue, a silver Kia Sportage and a blue Dodge Caravan were involved in a collision on I-95 North around the 21 mile marker. No injuries were reported.
  • 8:14 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on Highway 462 in reference to a white Chrysler Sebring with a black convertible top at the Old House Road intersection.

APRIL 15, 2017

  • 12:43 a.m. – A suspicious white male was reported in the parking lot of the Burger King Restaurant at 8257 East Main Street.
  • 1:30 a.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North around the 12 mile marker in reference to a tractor trailer.
  • 5:12 a.m. – A complaint was filed at the Gulf Station at 8250 East Main Street after a white male was found sleeping inside of the men’s restroom.  Kristopher Shane Nolen was ordered to leave the property by responding Officers but was ultimately placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center after refusing to do so.
  • 8:38 a.m. –  A civil dispute regarding an eviction process was reported at a residence on First Avenue.
  • 10:08 a.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North around the 18 mile marker in reference to a white Toyota Camry.
  • 11:56 a.m. – A reckless driver was reported on Kato Bay Road in reference to a white Ford Econoline van.
  • 1:23 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 34 mile marker in reference to a silver Chevy Impala.
  • 3:33 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 21 mile marker in reference to a white pickup.
  • 3:37 p.m. – A verbal domestic dispute between a Mother and her Daughter was reported at a residence on First Avenue.
  • 5:56 p.m. – A Lexus 320i and a Freightliner tractor trailer were involved in a collision on I-95 North around the 23 mile marker.  No injuries were reported.
  • 7:21 p.m. – A red Chevy Trailblazer was stopped for speeding at the intersection of South Jacob Smart Boulevard and East Main Street where driver Alfredo Jorge Serrano was found to be operating under a suspended New York driver’s license.  He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as the vehicle was released to a licensed driver.
  • 7:39 p.m. – A welfare check was conducted on a family inside of a disabled white GMC Yukon on Nuna Rock Road near the Taylor Mill Road intersection.
  • 8:24 p.m. – A complaint was filed at the Wendy’s Restaurant at 8480 Grahamville Road in reference to a group of vehicles disobeying the business traffic control signs.
  • 8:33 p.m. – A verbal domestic dispute between a male and a female inside of a white Hyundai Accent was reported in the parking lot area of the Short Stop BP Station at 10728 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.
  • 9:15 p.m. – A report of possible illegal drug activity was filed at The Siesta Motel at 10530 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.
  • 9:46 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North around the 22 mile marker in reference to a black pickup.
  • 11:01 p.m. – A welfare check was conducted on a male subject in a disabled red Dodge Caravan in front of the Ridgeland Coin Laundry at 10246 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.
  • 11:01 p.m. – A noise complaint was filed in reference to loud music at a residence on Shadetree Street in the Carters Mill Estates Community.

APRIL 14, 2017

  • 3:20 a.m. – A suspicious gray Ford Focus was reported in the parking lot of the McDonald’s Restaurant at 8548 Grahamville Road.
  • 6:05 a.m. – Ridgeland Officers assisted Jasper County Sheriff’s Deputies executing a search warrant at a residence on North Green Street where Oliver Victor Mitchell, 38 of Ridgeland, was taken into custody in reference to an outstanding felony failure to appear warrant.  During the process he was also found to be in possession of a quantity of marijuana, prescription medication and cocaine resulting in additional charges prior to being taken to the Jasper County Detention Center.

  • 9:24 a.m. – A complaint was filed in reference to a verbal dispute between the complainant and an employee at the Sparkle Car Wash at 10577 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.
  • 11:14 a.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North around the 18 mile marker in reference to a dark gray Honda mini van.
  • 11:28 a.m. – A hit and run was reported in the parking lot of the Sunoco Station at 11965 North Jacob Smart Boulevard after the complainant’s gold Chevy Malibu allegedly suffered damage by an unknown vehicle.  A review of surveillance footage by responding Officers revealed no such incident had occurred.
  • 11:31 a.m. – Ridgeland Officers responded to an alert on I-95 South after a 911 call was received in reference to a green Buick passenger car being followed by an employee of Blocker Boys Customs Service Center at 341 South Jefferies Boulevard in Walterboro SC after the driver failed to pay for a tire installation. Both vehicles were stopped by responding Officers at the 22 mile marker where the item was paid for and no charges were filed at Blocker Boys Management’s request.
  • 12:03 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Jasper County Courthouse at 265 Russell Street.
  • 12:58 p.m. – A white Chevy Silverado was reportedly parked in the roadway at the intersection of East Main and Wilson Streets.
  • 2:00 p.m. – A downed telephone service line temporarily blocked traffic on Malphrus Road at the Grays Highway intersection.
  • 2:33 p.m. – A welfare check was conducted on a male driver of a tractor trailer at the intersection of Grays Highway and Live Oak Road.
  • 3:23 p.m. – Officers responded to a residence on East Wilson Street in reference to a request from the Savannah/Chatham Metro Police Department searching for a missing juvenile.  Mayra Castanon is described as a 14 year old Hispanic female standing approximately 5′ 8″ tall and weighing 120 pounds.  She was last seen on Colleen Drive in Savannah GA on April 2nd at approximately 8 p.m. wearing a red shirt, blue jeans and brown shoes and eyeglasses.  She may be in the company of her 20 year old boyfriend Dario Morales-Hernandez.  If you have any information on Mayra’s whereabouts please call 911 or contact the Savannah/Chatham Metro Police Department tip line at 912-525-3124.
  • 5:17 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North around the 18 mile marker in reference to a gold Ford Ranger pickup with a camper shell.
  • 5:53 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North around the 12 mile marker in reference to a dark gray BMW.
  • 6:35 p.m. – Daniel Allen Bostic was placed under arrest at the Main Street Barbecue Restaurant at 8084 East Main Street and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center in reference to three outstanding warrants issued by the Ridgeland Police Department.  Bostic’s charges stemmed from an August 15th 2016 incident at the Aussie Auto Body Shop at 1010 West Adams Street where he used a hammer to break into three separate vehicles locked inside of the impound area during the overnight hours.  DNA evidence collected at the scene and submitted to the Beaufort County Forensics Laboratory recently returned on March 23rd 2017 identifying him as the person responsible.  Bostic was currently out on bond following his November 4th 2016 arrest for six counts of breaking into motor vehicles at Aussie Auto Body on the night of November 2nd after surveillance footage captured him committing the acts and then leaving the area on a bicycle.
  • 9:29 p.m. – An assault was reported on Shadetree Street in the Carters Mill Estates Community after an unknown subject inside of an older model SUV allegedly pointed a rifle at a male complainant before fleeing the area in an unknown direction.
  • 10:12 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Grayco Building Supply Store at 119 Industrial Park Road.
  • 10:18 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on Kato Bay Road in reference to a gold passenger car.
  • 11:12 p.m. – A suspicious white male was reported in the men’s restroom at the McDonald’s Restaurant at 8548 Grahamville Road.
  • 11:33 p.m. – A silver Chevy Cobalt and a gray Nissan Sentra were involved in a collision on Bees Creek Road near the Chelsea Lane intersection resulting in the driver of the Cobalt fleeing the area prior to Law Enforcement arrival.  It was shortly after located by responding Officers left abandoned at a nearby residence on Bees Creek Road where it was turned over to Scott’s Automotive for removal. There were no injuries reported in the collision.

APRIL 13, 2017

  • 12:06 a.m. – A verbal domestic dispute between a male and a female was reported at The Palms Motel at 10735 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.
  • 2:39 a.m. – A suspicious white Chevy Avalanche was reported in the parking lot of the Advance Auto Parts Store at 10424 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.
  • 7:43 a.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 33 mile marker in reference to a gray Toyota 4Runner.
  • 10:46 a.m. – A white and tan pickup possibly stolen out of Hampton County was reported in the parking lot of the Travelodge Motel at 8216 East Main Street.  
  • 11:52 a.m. – A gray 2008 Nissan Maxima was stopped for speeding on Old House Road at the Wellington Loop intersection where the driver made an abrupt u-turn and fled the area traveling East initiating a vehicle pursuit reaching speeds in excess of 100 mph.  The driver ultimately turned right onto Highway 462 and then West on Cherry Hill Road where four black males and a black female ultimately leapt from the still moving vehicle and fled on foot into a wooded area as the vehicle ultimately rolled to a stop.  Responding Deputies arrived in the area prior to the vehicle being towed at which time an AK-47 style rifle was recovered from the trunk which was reported stolen from inside of a vehicle on Stiney Road in Hardeeville on Sunday April 9th.
  • 2:32 p.m. – Steven Lee Hamlet, 58 of Ridgeland SC, was placed on trespass notice for the business property of the Econo Lodge Motel at 511 James Taylor Drive at Management’s request.
  • 3:01 p.m. – A suspicious white male was reported at the Short Stop BP Station at 10728 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.
  • 3:51 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on Kato Bay Road in reference to a red and silver Ford pickup.
  •  3:52 p.m. – An assault was reported at Logan Lane Apartments at 544 South Logan Street after two black males pointed handguns at two female tenants and a 5 month old infant.  Surveillance footage is being reviewed regarding this incident.
  • 4:21 p.m. – Ridgeland Officers assisted Fire/Rescue Personnel at a residence on Rosemary Road in reference to a 59 year old male resident having difficulty breathing.  He was ultimately transported by EMS to Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeville for treatment.
  • 7:57 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 23 mile marker in reference to a blue tractor trailer.
  • 10:05 p.m. – A suspicious gray SUV was reported in the parking lot of the Bank of Walterboro at 8058 East Main Street.

APRIL 12, 2017

  • 5:04 a.m. – A red Saturn SR1 was involved in a single vehicle collision on East Main Street underneath the I-95 overpass after the driver lost control and struck a guardrail before exiting and fleeing the area on foot. Surveillance footage is being reviewed for suspect identification and pending charges.

    6:14 a.m. – A welfare check was conducted at The Palms Motel at 10735 South Jacob Smart Boulevard after the complainant was unable to get an answer at the door of a male tenant he was picking up for work.

  • 6:33 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Ridgeland Baptist Church at 1448 Grays Highway.
  • 7:02 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Beacon of Hope Learning Center at 11332 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.
  • 7:31 a.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 around the 33 mile marker in reference to a tractor trailer traveling South with a brake malfunction.
  • 7:49 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Palmetto Eye Specialists Office at 10911 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.
  • 7:51 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Jasper County Courthouse at 265 Russell Street.
  • 9:02 a.m. – A suspicious recently burned item was reported behind Ken’s Tire Service at 10464 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.
  • 9:13 a.m. – A breach of trust was reported at the Burger King Restaurant at 8257 East Main Street after a bank deposit from Saturday April 1st was found to have never been made.  Surveillance footage is being reviewed in the matter.
  • 10:19 a.m. – A blue Mitsubishi Mirage was stopped for speeding on I-95 South around the 20 mile marker where driver Jonathan W. Collado, 20 of Richmond Hill NY, was found to be in possession of a quantity of marijuana. He was cited for the offense and assigned a court date prior to leaving the area.
  • 10:51 a.m. – Two suspicious black males riding bicycles were reported on Wise Street.
  • 11:21 a.m. – A suspicious white male was reported on East Adams Street behind the KFC Restaurant.
  • 12:49 p.m. – An animal complaint was filed at a residence on McTeer Street in reference to a pit-bull from a neighboring home roaming the area.  The owner of the animal was ultimately located and advised of the leash law set in place within the Ridgeland town limits.
  • 3:12 p.m. – A suspicious male was reported at the Outpost Clothing Store at 10545 South Jacob Smart Boulevard having entered the business on Saturday April 8th possibly violating a court issued no contact order.
  • 3:21 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North around the 11 mile marker in reference to a white Hyundai Santa Fe.
  • 4:27 p.m. – A theft was reported at a vacant residence on East Adams Street after several items were stolen from inside of a storage building during property renovations.
  • 6:13 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at Ken’s Tire Service at 10464 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.
  • 7:24 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on Eleanor Avenue.
  • 9:23 p.m. – A large fallen tree limb was reportedly blocking both lanes of travel on Getsinger Street.

APRIL 11, 2017

  • 6:51 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Grayco Building Supply Store at 119 Industrial Park Road.
  • 7:20 a.m. – A complaint was filed at the Ridgeland Alternative School at 456 Grays Highway in reference to a male student waiting for a ride causing problems with staff members.
  • 8:02 a.m. – A silver Nissan Altima was turned over to A-1 Towing for removal after being left abandoned on I-95 North at the exit 18 interchange since Sunday April 9th.
  • 11:02 a.m. – A roofing truss fell from a tractor trailer traveling South on I-95 just North of the exit 21 off ramp causing one lane of travel to be shut down for approximately 20 minutes before being cleared from the roadway by responding Officers.
  • 12:26 p.m. – A Nissan Maxima and a Cadillac Deville were involved in a collision at the intersection of East Wilson and North Logan Streets.  No injuries were reported.
  • 1:51 p.m. – A silver Nissan Rogue was stopped for an improper lane change on I-95 South around the 20 mile marker where driver Manuel Alejandro Oliva-Aleman was found to be operating under a suspended Florida driver’s license. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as Scott’s Automotive took possession of the vehicle.
  • 5:08 p.m. – A property damage report was filed at a residence on Honeycomb Lane in the Bees Creek Plantation Community stemming from the complainant’s vehicle allegedly being struck while parking outside of Harvey’s Grocery Store at 8205 East Main Street. 
  • 5:43 p.m. – A report was filed at a residence on Malphrus Street after the complainant’s sister failed to return a 2006 Honda CRV borrowed from the victim in February of this year.  Warrant affidavits are pending against Danielle Nelson, 32 of Charleston SC, charging her with breach of trust.
  • 5:56 p.m. – A property damage report was filed at the Ridgeland Tire & Auto Center at 11263 North Jacob Smart Boulevard after a 13 year old black male juvenile struck a wall with a hammer causing damage.  He was turned over to the custody of his Grandmother with the Property Manager declining charges in the matter.
  • 5:57 p.m. – An animal complaint was filed on Colony Drive in the Bees Creek Plantation Community in reference to 2 dogs wandering the area.  The owner was ultimately located and advised of the leash law set in place within the Ridgeland town limits.
  • 8:05 p.m. – A suspicious Toyota was reported in the parking lot area of the Ridgeland Coin Laundry at 10246 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.
  • 9:07 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 28 mile marker in reference to a tractor trailer.
  • 9:59 p.m. – A welfare check was conducted on a female subject at the EZ Stop IV Station at 80 Blue Heron Drive.
  • 10:54 p.m. – A trespassing complaint was filed at The Palms Motel at 10735 South Jacob Smart Boulevard in reference to a female refusing to leave when asked by the legal tenant.  She ultimately left of her own accord prior to Law Enforcement arrival.

APRIL 10, 2017

  • 5:39 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Pizza Bella Restaurant at 8196 East Main Street.
  • 11:46 a.m. – A verbal dispute between a male complainant and the Mother of his girlfriend was reported at a residence on Fifth Avenue.
  • 12:48 p.m. – A possible theft was reported at the Star Point BP Station at 11122 North Jacob Smart Boulevard after a purse was allegedly taken from inside of a vehicle in the parking lot area.  The complainant however, left the area prior to Law Enforcement arrival without completing an official report.
  • 1:38 p.m. – A black Ford Expedition was stopped for an improper lane change violation on I-95 South around the 20 mile marker where passenger Daniel Sepulveda, 29 of Bronx NY, was found to be in possession of a quantity of marijuana.  He was cited for the offense and assigned a court date prior to leaving the area.
  • 2:09 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on McTeer Street.
  • 2:42 p.m. – Ridgeland Officers assisted Jasper County Deputies in responding to Rice Shire Road after a 911 call was received in reference to a 10 year old white female and a 7 year old black female being left in a wooded area after allegedly being kidnapped by an armed white male driving a black pickup in Moncks Corner.  As responding Officers began canvassing the area for the suspect vehicle the two girls’ narrative of events eventually began to unravel ultimately leading to the determination that they had fabricated the story after running away from a foster home on Rice Shire Road moments before the 911 call was received.
  • 5:03 p.m. – An animal complaint was filed in reference to 2 stray dogs wandering the area of Live Oak Road.
  • 5:38 p.m. – A black male was reportedly walking on I-95 North around the 23 mile marker.  Responding Officers advised the subject of the laws pertaining to pedestrians on the interstate at which point he moved to Frontage Road.
  • 7:49 p.m. – A 32′ Coachman tow behind camper was turned over to J&M Towing for removal after being left unoccupied inches from the fog line on I-95 South at the exit 18 interchange.
  • 11:52 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 33 mile marker in reference to a dark colored passenger car.

APRIL 9, 2017

  • 1:52 a.m. – A suspicious van was reported in the parking lot of the Sunoco Station at 11965 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.
  • 2:20 a.m. – A suspicious black Ford was reported in the parking lot of the McDonald’s Restaurant at 8548 Grahamville Road.
  • 4:14 a.m. – A suspicious white Ford Expedition was reported on Glover Road near the Highway 462 intersection.
  • 6:50 a.m. – A welfare check was conducted on a gray Nissan Altima  on I-95 North at the exit 18 interchange.  Responding Officers found the vehicle to be unoccupied.
  • 7:30 a.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North around the 18 mile marker in reference to a dark blue mini van.
  • 1:27 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North around the 17 mile marker in reference to a black Dodge pickup.
  • 4:00 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the State Farm Insurance Office at 10840 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.
  • 4:07 p.m. – A theft was reported at the Econo Lodge Motel at 511 James Taylor Drive after a television was found to have been stolen from a recently vacated room.  Surveillance footage is being reviewed for suspect identification and pending charges.
  • 7:50 p.m. – A suspicious black Chevy Malibu was reported on I-95 North around the 19 mile marker.
  • 8:31 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported at the intersection of East Main and South Logan Streets in reference to a white Saturn Vue.
  • 9:38 p.m. – A verbal domestic dispute between a male and a female was reported at a residence on Oakridge North in the Oakridge Trailer Park Community.
  • 11:10 p.m. – A silver Ford Focus was stopped for numerous moving violations in the parking lot of the Ridgeland Coin Laundry at 10246 South Jacob Smart Boulevard where driver Elshaddia Elyse Smith was found to be operating under the influence of alcohol with her 5 year old son inside of the vehicle as well as being in possession of an open container of beer and another of liquor.  She was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as Blatchley’s Towing took possession of the vehicle and the child was turned over to the custody of the defendant’s boyfriend.  Upon arrival at the detention center Smith became increasingly resistant and combative attempting to destroy State owned property while shouting and spitting at the arresting Officer.  After several attempts to have her calm down she ultimately assaulted a Detention Officer with a pen resulting in an additional charge of assault & battery.

APRIL 8, 2017

  • 4:20 a.m. – A suspicious Kia Optima was reported in the parking lot of the Sunoco Station at 11965 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.
  • 5:07 a.m. – A suspicious vehicle was reported in the parking lot of the McDonald’s Restaurant at 8548 Grahamville Road.
  • 5:18 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Piggly Wiggly Grocery Store at 10847 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.
  • 7:00 a.m. – A white Chevy Malibu was involved in a single vehicle collision on a private drive off of Glover Road after the driver lost control and struck a group of trees.  He was transported by EMS to Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeville for treatment.
  • 11:03 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at The Fashion Tree at 7784 West Main Street.
  • 12:17 p.m. – A suspicious black male was reported in the parking lot of the Dollar General Store at 8123 East Main Street.
  • 1:39 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on Azalea Avenue.
  • 2:39 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the El Ranchito Restaurant at 11382 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.
  • 3:29 p.m. – An assault was reported by a female complainant in a black Toyota Camry after another female struck the rear passenger side window of her vehicle with a blunt object causing damage to the glass at the intersection of Jacob Smart Boulevard and Main Street before fleeing the area in a burgundy Nissan Altima. Surveillance video is being reviewed for suspect identification and pending charges.
  • 4:18 p.m. – A silver Volkswagen Jetta and a white Toyota Corolla were involved in a collision on I-95 South around the 22 mile marker.  No injuries were reported.
  • 5:05 p.m. – Ridgeland Officers assisted Fire/Rescue Personnel at a residence on Hagin Drive after an electric hot water heater ruptured causing a large explosion destroying a majority of the home.  One male occupant was extricated and transported by EMS to Savannah Memorial Hospital for treatment.  No other injuries were reported.

  • 5:23 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on Owens Street.
  • 9:15 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 32 mile marker in reference to a white mini van.
  • 9:23 p.m. – A group of 3 suspicious juveniles was reported at Turpin Park at 901 North Logan Street.
  • 9:54 p.m. – A black Nissan Rogue was stopped for speeding on I-95 South around the 23 mile marker where driver Douglas Walter Dolshun II was found to be operating under a suspended New York driver’s license.  He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as the vehicle was released to a licensed driver.
  • 10:20 p.m. – A red Mitsubishi was reportedly operating without headlights traveling South on I-95 around the 22 mile marker.
  • 10:54 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 34 mile marker in reference to a silver Honda.

APRIL 7, 2017

  • 2:51 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at The Manuel Studio at 516 South Green Street.
  • 3:34 a.m. – A suspicious black male was reported on Smiths Crossing at the Brandon Cove intersection.
  • 4:58 a.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 33 mile marker in reference to a tractor trailer.
  • 8:24 a.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North around the 15 mile marker in reference to a white passenger car.
  • 10:49 a.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 28 mile marker in reference to a black and white Ford Mustang.
  • 12:50 p.m. – A verbal domestic dispute between a male and a female was reported at a residence on Fifth Avenue.
  • 3:07 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on McTeer Street.
  • 5:02 p.m. – An incorrigible juvenile complaint was filed at a residence on Shadetree Street in the Carters Mill Estates Community in reference to an ongoing dispute between a 15 year old male and his Mother.
  • 6:18 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on West Main Street.
  • 7:39 p.m. – A complaint was filed at a residence on Brandon Cove in the North Ridge Community in reference to mail being received addressed to an unknown person.
  • 9:35 p.m. – A verbal domestic dispute between a male complainant and his ex-spouse regarding child custody was reported at a residence on Brandon Cove in the North Ridge Community.
  • 10:30 p.m. – A complaint was filed at The Forest Motel at 10504 South Jacob Smart Boulevard after a 16 year old male juvenile caused damage to the door of a room he shared with his Mother during a verbal dispute before leaving the area on foot.  An agreement was ultimately reached by the child’s Mother and the property owner regarding payment for damages, therefore no charges were filed. Officers later received information that tenant Mamie Lee Russell, 46 of Ridgeland, was listed as a wanted person by the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office in reference to an outstanding failure to appear bench warrant stemming from a previous driving under suspension conviction.  She was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center without incident.

  • 12:29 a.m. – A suspicious person was reported outside of a residence on North Logan Street allegedly hiding under an outdoor shed.
  • 3:33 a.m. – Ridgeland Officers assisted South Carolina Highway Patrol in responding to a single vehicle collision involving a red Toyota Rav 4 on I-95 North around the 16 mile marker after the driver lost control and struck a group of trees. There were no injuries reported.
  • 6:10 a.m. – A suspicious blue Nissan Altima was reported on I-95 North at the exit 18 interchange.
  • 7:55 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at Ken’s Tire Service at 10464 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.
  • 8:11 a.m. – A trespassing complaint was filed at the El Cheapo Station at 11033 North Jacob Smart Boulevard after Jon Lamar Brantley arrived at the location and began harassing customers in violation of a January 12th 2017 trespass notice served against him prohibiting him from entering onto the business property.  He left the area on foot prior to Law Enforcement arrival but was soon after located at the McDonald’s Restaurant at 8548 Grahamville Road where he was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.
  • 8:48 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on Eleanor Avenue.
  • 9:31 a.m. – A gray Dodge mini van was stopped for a failure an expired dealership tag violation on I-95 South around the 19 mile marker where passenger Michael Myers was found to be in possession of a quantity of marijuana.  He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.
  • 10:13 a.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North around the 18 mile marker in reference to a tanker truck.
  • 11:04 a.m. – A gray Dodge Journey was stopped for an improper lane change violation on I-95 South at the exit 21 interchange where passenger Angel Ramirez was found to be in possession of a quantity of marijuana and an open container of beer.  He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as the vehicle was released to a licensed passenger.
  • 3:04 p.m. – An animal complaint was filed by a passing motorist in reference to a stray dog running in and out of traffic on I-95 at the exit 21 interchange.
  • 4:30 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North around the 21 mile marker in reference to a white Ford F150 pickup.
  • 5:26 p.m. – A downed tree and power line were reported on East Wilson Street resulting in both lanes of travel being blocked for approximately 30 minutes.
  • 7:32 p.m. – An incorrigible juvenile report was filed at a residence on Shadetree Street in the Carters Mill Estates Community after a 15 year old male refused to leave the property with his Mother.
  • 8:55 p.m. – A group of subjects were reportedly throwing stones at a passing train at the Third Avenue overpass by the Green Street intersection.
  • 9:41 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 21 mile marker in reference to a U-Haul rental truck towing a passenger car.
  • 11:20 p.m. – A suspicious black passenger car was reported on Oakridge North in the Oakridge Trailer Park Community on North Green Street.

  • 1:05 a.m. – A suspicious black GMC pickup was reported in the parking lot of The Outpost Clothing Store at 10545 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.
  • 4:14 a.m. – Officers assisted the Ridgeland Fire Department in responding to a small fire inside of a trash receptacle in the parking lot of the Wendy’s Restaurant at 8480 Grahamville Road.
  • 5:34 a.m. – A suspicious white male was reported in a wooded area bordering the Ridgeland Correctional Institution at 5 Correctional Road.
  • 8:14 a.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North around the 17 mile marker in reference to a white tractor trailer.
  • 10:12 a.m. – A welfare check was conducted on a white male subject lying on the ground in front of the Dollar General Store at 8123 East Main Street.
  • 10:38 a.m. – A white male pedestrian was reportedly walking North on I-95 around the 23 mile marker.
  • 12:54 p.m. – A silver Chrysler PT Cruiser was stopped in front of Club Pluto at 8812 South Jacob Smart Boulevard after the displayed South Carolina tag returned as being registered to a 1993 Nissan Maxima.  Driver Deborah Ann Dean was found to be operating with no valid insurance coverage as well as under a suspended South Carolina driver’s license with 3 previous driving under suspension convictions appearing on her record resulting in a habitual traffic offender classification assigned by the SCDMV.  She was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as Little T’s Towing took possession of the vehicle.
  • 3:10 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported at the intersection of Bees Creek and Captain Bill Roads in reference to a red Ford F150 pickup.
  • 5:32 p.m. – A tractor trailer towing an oversized load with a red Jeep Wrangler escort vehicle were reportedly impeding traffic flow on I-95 North around the 16 mile marker.
  • 8:32 p.m. – Two males were involved in a verbal dispute in the parking lot area of The Siesta Motel at 10530 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.
  • 9:06 p.m. – A maroon pickup was reportedly operating without headlights on I-95 North around the 21 mile marker.
  • 10:55 p.m. – A welfare check was conducted at a residence on West Smith Street after an open line 911 call was received by Jasper County Emergency Services.

  • 2:48 a.m. – A suspicious silver Hyundai was reported in the parking lot of the Burger King Restaurant at 8257 East Main Street.
  • 5:48 a.m. – A male pedestrian was reportedly walking North on I-95 around the 19 mile marker.
  • 6:15 a.m. – A silver Hyundai Sonata and a red Suzuki Swift were involved in a collision at the intersection of South Jacob Smart Boulevard and East Adams Street.  No injuries were reported.
  • 7:26 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Ridgeland Boys & Girls Club at 913 Grays Highway.
  • 9:35 a.m. – A suspicious female was reported outside of a residence on Bailey Lane.
  • 9:58 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on Live Oak Farm Road.
  • 12:39 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 in reference to a gray passenger car traveling North between Hardeeville and Ridgeland.
  • 1:42 p.m. – A white male pedestrian was reportedly walking North on I-95 around the 22 mile marker.
  • 4:35 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North around the 18 mile marker in reference to a logging truck.
  • 6:24 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Ridgeland Baptist Church at 1448 Grays Highway.

APRIL 3, 2017

  • 1:55 a.m. – A suspicious person was reported on Brandon Cove in the North Ridge Community in reference to a black male attempting to break into vehicles.
  • 7:39 a.m. – An incorrigible juvenile complaint was filed at the Ridgeland Alternative School at 456 Grays Highway after two students refused to follow staff instruction.
  • 11:07 a.m. – A suspicious male was reported inside of a gray Nissan Altima in the parking lot area of the Wendy’s Restaurant at 8480 Grahamville Road.
  • 12:28 p.m. – A shoplifting was reported at the Piggly Wiggly Grocery Store at 10847 North Jacob Smart Boulevard after a routine review of surveillance footage revealed a black male stealing store items on the afternoon of March 7th. The footage is being reviewed for suspect identification and pending charges.
  • 12:44 p.m. – An animal complaint was filed on Promise Way in reference to an ongoing problem with a large dog breaking free of the chain used to keep it restrained.
  • 2:45 p.m. – An assault was reported at Baytree Apartments at 107 First Avenue after a black male allegedly pointed a handgun at another during a dispute.
  • 3:47 p.m. – A white male in a gold Ford Taurus was reportedly asking customers and passers by for money in the parking lot of the Wendy’s Restaurant at 8480 Grahamville Road.
  • 5:41 p.m. – An animal complaint was filed in reference to a dog chained outside of a residence on East Main Street.
  • 6:40 p.m. – A verbal domestic dispute was reported at a residence on Jaudon Street.
  • 10:21 p.m. – Officers assisted the Ridgeland Fire Department in responding to a small grease fire inside of a home at Baytree Apartments at 107 First Avenue. No injuries were reported.
  • 11:32 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 22 mile marker in reference to a large pickup.
  • 11:57 p.m. – A tractor trailer was reportedly operating with a flat tire while traveling South on I-95 around the 21 mile marker.

APRIL 2, 2017

  • 12:14 a.m. – A welfare check was conducted at the Carolina Lodge Motel at 8260 East Main Street after a tenant was unable to get an answer at the front desk check in area.
  • 12:49 a.m. – Ridgeland Officers assisted Jasper County Deputies in responding to Club Pluto at 8812 South Jacob Smart Boulevard in reference to an intoxicated female driving recklessly in the parking lot area.
  • 1:20 a.m. – A gray Jaguar was stopped for disregarding a stop sign at the intersection of Wood Duck Street and Cobia Lane where driver Ruben Andres-Mendoza, 18 of Ridgeland, and passengers Daniel Organis, 18 of Ridgeland, & Maricio Radilla, 23 of Ridgeland, were all found to be in possession of a quantity of marijuana.  Each subject was cited and assigned a court date under the charge of simple possession of marijuana before leaving the area with Mendoza receiving an additional charge of disregarding a stop sign. 
  • 12:09 p.m. – A complaint was filed at The Siesta Motel at 10530 South Jacob Smart Boulevard in reference to a male tenant driving a motorcycle recklessly in the parking lot area.
  • 1:23 p.m. – A welfare check was conducted at the Econo Lodge Motel at 511 James Taylor Drive after an open line 911 call was received during a domestic dispute between a male and a female.
  • 1:54 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Kingdom Touch Ministries Church at 6714 Tillman Road.
  • 3:37 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North around the 21 mile marker in reference to a white Jeep.
  • 7:03 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at Ken’s Tire Service at 10464 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.
  • 8:02 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 28 mile marker in reference to a silver Ford Mustang.
  • 8:58 p.m. – A welfare check was conducted at the O’Reilly Auto Parts Store at 11058 North Jacob Smart Boulevard after a call was received concerning a male subject who had walked there after his vehicle became disabled on I-95 South around the 28 mile marker.
  • 11:46 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Bobops Convenience Store at 8548 Grahamville Road.

APRIL 1, 2017

  • 1:23 a.m. – A white Volvo tractor trailer and a gray Dodge 3500 pickup were involved in a collision in the truck parking area on I-95 North at the 17 mile marker.  No injuries were reported.
  • 7:48 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Grayco Building Supply Store at 119 Industrial Park Road.
  • 9:50 a.m. – A green Ford Explorer was turned over to J&M Towing for removal after being found abandoned in a roadside drainage ditch on Henry Lawton Road.
  • 9:59 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Ridgeland Baptist Church at 1448 Grays Highway.
  • 11:11 a.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North around the 15 mile marker in reference to a tractor trailer hauling a section of modular home.
  • 11:53 a.m. – A domestic dispute between a male and a female was reported at Heron Crossing Apartments at 113 Heron Crossing Drive.
  • 3:05 p.m. – A burgundy SUV was involved in a single vehicle collision after the driver lost control and left the roadway at the West Main Street railroad crossing. No injuries were reported.
  • 3:12 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Southern Styles Salon at 100 South Railroad Avenue.
  • 3:56 p.m. – A silver Nissan passenger car was involved in a single vehicle collision on Wise Street by the Smiths Crossing intersection after the driver backed into a roadside drainage ditch while executing a 3 point turn.  No injuries were reported.
  • 8:54 p.m. – A suspicious gray Ford Mustang was reported outside of a residence on Third Avenue.
  • 10:18 p.m. – A fight in progress was reported at Baytree Apartments at 107 First Avenue.
  • 10:59 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 30 mile marker.
