DAILY CRIME REPORTS – February, 2017

THE FOLLOWING INCIDENTS ARE AN ACCOUNT OF CALLS AND CASES RESPONDED TO BY OFFICERS OF THE RIDGELAND POLICE DEPARTMENT. THESE CASES ARE CLOSED OR CURRENTLY UNDER INVESTIGATION. FEBRUARY 28, 2017

  • 3:18 a.m. – A trespassing report was filed at the Travelodge Motel at 8216 East Main Street after Management discovered individuals inside of a recently vacated room.  A male and a female fled the area on foot after seeing the responding Officer arrive on scene but were soon after located in the parking lot of the Gulf Station at 8250 East Main Street.  Devontre Montrell Priester, 21 of Allendale SC, and Shelby M. Davis, 22 of Ridgeland SC, were both placed on trespass notice for the Travelodge Motel business property at Management’s request.
  • 7:25 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Ridgeland Boys & Girls Club at 913 Grays Highway.  A second activation occurred at 8:04 a.m.
  • 8:15 a.m. – A missing person report was filed at a residence on East Wilson Street after the complainant’s 15 year old daughter failed to report to school having allegedly spent the prior night at a friend’s house.  A check of the given information revealed that the juvenile had not been at the home where she claimed to have been staying at which time Officers began canvassing the area of the Oakridge Trailer Park on North Green Street where she reportedly may have been staying.  The female ultimately returned home of her own accord at approximately 10:23 a.m.
  • 9:21 a.m. – A suspicious person was reported inside of a red Dodge passenger car in the Oakridge Trailer Park Community on North Green Street where responding Officers located Organis Faustino smoking marijuana in the back seat with an additional quantity lying in plain view on the center console.  He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.
  • 3:58 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on West Frontage Road in reference to a large gray RV.
  • 5:20 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South at the exit 21 interchange in reference to a green Buick Regal.
  • 8:23 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North around the 22 mile marker in reference to a blue Acura.
  • 8:52 p.m. – A suspicious white female was reportedly asking to purchase narcotics in the parking lot area of Logan Lane Apartments at 544 South Logan Street.

FEBRUARY 27, 2017

  • 6:51 a.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 22 mile marker in reference to a white pickup.
  • 10:13 a.m. – A blue Hyundai Santa Fe was stopped for a failure to maintain lane violation on I-95 North around the 23 mile marker where driver Nour Khaled Saleh was found to be in possession of a quantity of marijuana and Tramadol. She was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as Scott’s Automotive took possession of the vehicle.
  • 12:20 p.m. – A complaint was filed by a motorist traveling South on I-95 around the 22 mile marker in reference to pieces of debris coming from the bed of a blue tractor trailer.
  • 2:10 p.m. – Ridgeland Officers traveled to the Clayton County Detention Center at 9157 Tara Boulevard in Jonesboro GA where inmate William Edward Jenkins was turned over to their custody and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center in reference to six outstanding warrants issued by the Ridgeland Police Department.  Jenkins’ charges stemmed from an August 21st 2006 report filed by a Savannah GA resident after several unauthorized transactions were made using his bank debit card in the town of Ridgeland including an outstanding phone bill as well as a Directv bill, both registered to William Jenkins.
  • 3:50 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 in reference to a red pickup traveling North between Hardeeville and Ridgeland.
  • 6:25 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 33 mile marker in reference to a white Dodge Ram pickup.

FEBRUARY 26, 2017

  • 1:48 a.m. – A black female was captured on surveillance video breaking the front lobby window glass at the Carolina Lodge Motel at 8260 East Main Street during a verbal dispute with Management before fleeing the area as Law Enforcement was contacted.  The footage is being reviewed for suspect identification and pending charges.
  • 3:32 a.m. – A silver Mazda 6 was involved in a single vehicle collision in front of the Main Street Pharmacy at 7752 West Main Street after the driver lost control of the vehicle, crossed the centerline and struck a palm tree. EMS responded to the scene however no persons were transported for medical treatment.

  • 5:35 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on McTeer Street.
  • 7:57 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Ridgeland Physical Therapy Office at 10616 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.  A second activation occurred at 9:36 a.m.
  • 8:40 a.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North around the 16 mile marker in reference to a silver 4 door sedan.
  • 10:35 a.m. – Ridgeland Officers responded to Highway 17 in the area of the I-95 exit 18 interchange where a Hardeeville Officer enroute to the Jasper County Detention Center with a prisoner had spotted Chanthini Kajfa Miller, 33, riding a bicycle heading North into Ridgeland.  Miller was identified as a wanted person by the Hardeeville Police Department in reference to an earlier shoplifting incident just after 8 a.m. at the Dollar General Store at 20751 Whyte Hardee Boulevard.  She was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.

  • 8:57 p.m. – Ridgeland Officers assisted Jasper County Deputies in responding to a residence on Stellar’s Jay Road after an open line 911 call was received by Jasper County Emergency Services stemming from a domestic dispute between a male and a female.
  • 10:36 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 37 mile marker in reference to a black SUV.
  • 10:50 p.m. – A noise complaint was filed in reference to loud music in the area of Jaudon and North Green Street.  A second complaint was filed at 11:58 p.m.
  • 10:59 p.m. – Two suspicious females were reported at the Waffle House Restaurant at 8185 East Main Street.

FEBRUARY 25, 2017

  • 12:26 a.m. – Ridgeland Officers assisted Jasper County Deputies in responding to a report of a group of suspicious persons outside of a residence on Dove Street.
  • 12:51 a.m. – A suspicious black male was reported in a wooded area bordering I-95 North with the Ridgeland Correctional Institution around the 22 mile marker.
  • 2:04 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Short Stop BP Station at 10728 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.
  • 6:18 a.m. – A report of illegal drug activity was filed at Logan Lane Apartments at 544 South Logan Street in reference to a black male driving a maroon GMC Yukon.
  • 8:54 a.m. – A silver Hyundai Elantra was stopped for a failure to maintain lane violation as well as displaying a suspended North Carolina tag on I-95 North around the 23 mile marker following several reckless driver complaints.  Driver Tracee Lyn Ramos was found to be operating under a suspended Florida driver’s license stemming from several failure to pay traffic ticket violations at which time she was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as Elite Towing took possession of the vehicle.
  • 9:29 a.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North around the 25 mile marker in reference to a silver Dodge pickup.
  • 10:11 a.m. – A suspicious person was reported at the Citgo Station at 107 Sycamore Drive.
  • 11:01 a.m. – A Honda Civic was stopped for speeding on I-95 South around the 23 mile marker where passenger Tyler Peter Van Anden was found to be in possession of a quantity of marijuana.  He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as the driver was issued a speeding citation and assigned a court date prior to leaving the area.
  • 12:38 p.m. – A gray Honda Accord and a silver Honda Insight were involved in a collision at the intersection of Bees Creek and Grahamville Road.  One female driver was transported by EMS to Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeville for treatment.
  • 1:47 p.m. – A suspicious black male was reported at the intersection of West Main and North Jasper Street.
  • 5:44 p.m. – A welfare check was conducted at Turpin Park at 901 North Logan Street in reference to an unsupervised juvenile.
  • 7:28 p.m. – An intoxicated black female was reportedly shouting at employees at the Short Stop BP Station at 10728 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.
  • 7:51 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 33 mile marker in reference to a white tractor trailer.
  • 10:34 p.m. – A suspicious white male inside of a van was reported in the parking lot of Regions Bank at 11004 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.
  • 11:06 p.m. – A welfare check was conducted at Baytree Apartments at 107 First Avenue after a 911 hang up call was received by Jasper County Emergency Services.

FEBRUARY 24, 2017

  • 3:29 a.m. – Ridgeland Officers traveled to the Jasper County Detention Center at 12008 North Jacob Smart Boulevard in service of an outstanding warrant against inmate Don Duwayne Grant following his arrest by Jasper County Deputies during a traffic stop on South Jacob Smart Boulevard near the Mango Drive intersection. Grant’s charges with RPD stemmed from a February 12th 2017 incident at the Jackson Hewitt Tax Office at 8176 East Main Street after he left threatening messages on a female employee’s voicemail.
  • 7:21 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Ridgeland Boys & Girls Club at 913 Grays Highway.  A second activation occurred at 7:46 a.m.
  • 7:44 a.m. – A black Dodge Charger and a silver Pontiac Grand Prix were involved in a collision in the parking lot of the Bobops Convenience Store at 8548 Grahamville Road.  No injuries were reported.
  • 8:14 a.m. – A strong odor of burning marijuana was reported inside of a recently vacated room at the Quality Inn Motel at 221 James Taylor Drive.
  • 9:46 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Ridgeland Family Dentistry Office at 10832 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.
  • 10:25 a.m. – A large tire was reportedly lying in the roadway on I-95 South around the exit 22 interchange.
  • 5:19 p.m. – A harassment complaint was filed by a male customer at the Burger King Restaurant at 8257 East Main Street in reference to an ongoing dispute with a female employee.  The other party involved later filed an additional report at 8:16 p.m.
  • 7:03 p.m. – A female was reportedly making threats in the parking lot of Logan Lane Apartments at 544 South Logan Street.
  • 8:19 p.m. – A silver Volkswagen Passat and a white passenger bus were involved in a collision in the parking lot of the Wendy’s Restaurant at 8480 Grahamville Road.  No injuries were reported.
  • 8:22 p.m. – A male and a female were involved in a verbal domestic dispute in the parking lot of The Palms Motel at 10735 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.
  • 10:13 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on Hagin Drive.
  • 10:32 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on North Logan Street.
  • 11:44 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 in reference to a silver tractor trailer traveling North between Hardeeville and Ridgeland.

FEBRUARY 23, 2017

  • 2:45 a.m. – A noise complaint was filed at a residence at Heron Crossing Apartments at 209 Heron Crossing Drive in reference to loud noises coming from a neighboring apartment.
  • 3:10 a.m. – A suspicious white male sitting in a Mercedes passenger car was reported in the parking lot of the Travelodge Motel at 8216 East Main Street.
  • 6:51 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Grayco Building Supply Store at 119 Industrial Park Road.
  • 10:40 a.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 in reference to a white RV traveling North between Hardeeville and Ridgeland.
  • 1:43 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North around the 13 mile marker in reference to two tractor trailers hauling separate halves of a mobile home.
  • 4:34 p.m. – A Toyota Camry and a Nissan SUV were involved in a collision in front of the Ridgeland School at 250 Jaguar Trail.  No injuries were reported.
  • 4:44 p.m. – A suspicious white male was reported at the Morris Center for Lowcountry Heritage at 10782 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.
  • 6:02 p.m. – An animal complaint was filed in reference to a Rottweiler running loose in the area of East Main Street.
  • 7:14 p.m. – A baby stroller and two small bicycles were reportedly lying in the middle of the roadway at the intersection of Grays Highway and Green Street.
  • 7:27 p.m. – A black Oldsmobile passenger car was stopped for a failure to dim headlights violation at the intersection of East Main and South Logan Street where driver Demiko Lorenzo Ansley, 28 of Bluffton SC, was found to be operating with no valid insurance coverage.  Further investigation revealed the South Carolina tag displayed on the vehicle to be registered to a 1991 Buick resulting in an additional charge.  He was cited for the offenses and assigned a court date prior to leaving the area as Scott’s Automotive took possession of the vehicle.
  • 8:22 p.m. – David Eric Hugue Jr., 27 of Ridgeland, was arrested by Jasper County Sheriff’s Deputies assisted by the US Marshals in the parking lot of the Burger King Restaurant at 8257 East Main Street after a warrant was issued charging him with the February 18th shooting death of Derrick Devette Heyward, 51 of Ridgeland, outside of a residence on Westberry Street.

FEBRUARY 22, 2017

  • 3:26 a.m. – Ridgeland Officers assisted South Carolina Highway Patrol with traffic control at the I-95 North exit 22 interchange after a tractor trailer overturned around the 27 mile marker.  No injuries were reported.
  • 8:20 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Ridgeland Boys & Girls Club at 913 Grays Highway.
  • 11:47 a.m. – An incorrigible juvenile report was filed by Administration at the Ridgeland Alternative School at 456 Grays Highway after a 14 year old male student continually disrupted class and began knocking items from his teacher’s desk onto the floor.  Ridgeland Officers transported the child to his home in Hardeeville where he was turned over to the custody of his Father without incident.
  • 2:05 p.m. – Ridgeland Officers traveled to the Jasper County Detention Center at 12008 North Jacob Smart Boulevard in service of a recently issued warrant against inmate Sharwain Lomant Bobian Jr. who has been held at the facility since his February 13th 2017 arrest on Sisters Ferry Road where he was operating a vehicle listed as stolen by the Port Royal Police Department. Bobian’s newest charges stem from a December 12th 2016 vehicle theft at the McDonald’s Restaurant at 8548 Grahamville Road where he stole a 2008 Honda Civic left unlocked with the keys inside.  He was found with the vehicle the following morning by Beaufort County Sheriff’s Deputies following up on a GPS locator hit in the parking lot of the Quality Inn Motel at 863 Sea Island Parkway in Saint Helena where he was placed under arrest for providing a fictitious name as well as an outstanding warrant with the South Carolina Department of Probation & Parole.  He was later positively identified as the person responsible for the McDonald’s theft and subsequently charged.
  • 3:53 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North around the 18 mile marker in reference to a silver Dodge Sprinter van.
  • 4:41 p.m. – A bicycle was reported stolen from a residence on Sailfish Circle in the Carters Mill Estates Community.  The incident is said to have occurred on Saturday February 18th but remained unreported until today’s date.
  • 5:16 p.m. – An alleged intoxicated driver was reportedly operating a blue GMC Envoy traveling East on Tarboro Road.
  • 6:01 p.m. – A complaint was filed at Heron Crossing Apartments at 72 Heron Crossing Drive after a non-resident black male subject driving a black Ford F150 pickup was witnessed throwing trash into a private dumpster.  The vehicle was soon after stopped traveling West on Grays Highway in front of the Ridgeland School where driver Lyneair Akens, 66 of Pineland SC, was placed on trespass notice for the Heron Crossing property at Management’s request.
  • 8:23 p.m. – Officers responded to the area of Oakridge South in the Oakridge Trailer Park Community after a 911 call was received of a fight in progress.  No such activity was found, however at 9:10 p.m. a second 911 call was received from a resident on Sailfish Circle in the Carters Mill Estates Community regarding the Oakridge incident in which two males, one allegedly armed with a handgun, had been involved in a verbal dispute but left the area prior to Law Enforcement arrival.  Officers soon learned that the primary aggressor involved in the incident, Maricio Jacinto-Radilla, was listed as a wanted person by the Ridgeland Police Department at which point they traveled to his residence on East Wilson Street and placed him under arrest just after 11 p.m.  His charges stemmed from an October 30th 2016 traffic stop where he was cited for driving without a license but then failed to appear in Ridgeland Municipal Court to answer to the charges on December 12th 2016 where he was found guilty during a trial in absence and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
  • 11:24 p.m. – An open door was discovered at the SCDOT Facility at 150 East Woodlawn Street.  No persons were found inside and no evidence of forced entry was discovered.

FEBRUARY 21, 2017

  • 1:44 a.m. – Two females were reportedly engaged in a dispute at a residence on North Green Street.
  • 4:41 a.m. – Two suspicious males were reported in the parking lot of the Harvey’s Grocery Store at 8205 East Main Street.  Officers soon after spotted the males outside of the ATV Warehouse at 8167 East Main Street where 20 year old Logan Edward Leroy Martin was found to be in possession of an open bottle of alcohol.  He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.
  • 11:11 a.m. – Officers traveled to the Ridgeland High School at 250 Jaguar Trail after information was received that student Vinlincia Zykiara Mobley was listed as a wanted person by the Hampton Police Department for an outstanding warrant charging her with lynching.  She was placed under arrest and ultimately turned over to the custody of responding Hampton City Officers.
  • 11:34 a.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 in reference to a black SUV with a bicycle rack traveling North between Hardeeville and Ridgeland.
  • 1:27 p.m. – A suspicious black male was reported in the rear parking lot area of the Travelodge Motel at 8216 East Main Street.  
  • 4:25 p.m. – A suspicious male was reported on North Jacob Smart Boulevard near the Captain Bill Road intersection.
  • 6:51 p.m. – A theft was reported at the Family Dollar Store at 73 South Green Street after a black female was captured on surveillance video stealing numerous store items before leaving through a rear emergency exit door.  The footage is being reviewed for suspect identification and pending charges.
  • 11:37 p.m. – A verbal domestic dispute between a male and a female was reported at Woodridge Apartments at 414 South Logan Street.

FEBRUARY 20, 2017

  • 4:18 a.m. – A reckless driver was reported in the area of Turpin Park at 901 North Logan Street in reference to a possibly intoxicated female driver operating a blue Lexus.
  • 7:33 a.m. – Officers responded to the the parking lot of the Travelodge Motel at 8216 East Main Street after receiving reports of a white male pedestrian exhibiting strange behavior.  The subject was ultimately transported by EMS to Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeville for evaluation.
  • 9:19 a.m. – A burgundy Chevy Suburban and a silver Acura Legend were involved in a collision in the parking lot of the Bobops Convenience Store at 8548 Grahamville Road.  No injuries were reported.
  • 10:08 a.m. – A trespassing complaint was filed at a vacant rental residence on East Adams Street after the property owner discovered a black male subject sleeping inside having entered through a window during the overnight hours.  
  • 10:35 a.m. – A property damage reported was filed at the Sparkle Car Wash at 10577 South Jacob Smart Boulevard after the complainant found that 2 of the tires on their beige Honda Accord had been cut sometime during the overnight hours. 
  • 1:05 p.m. – Ridgeland Officers assisted Jasper County Deputies in responding to a report of a suspicious female in the area of Wellington Loop.  Elizabeth English Lowther was ultimately spotted walking by the roadway where she was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center in reference to an outstanding warrant issued by the Ridgeland Police Department.  Lowther’s charges stemmed from a September 16th 2016 incident at Logan Lane Apartments at 544 South Logan Street where she struck a female tenant in the parking lot area and then fled on foot prior to Law Enforcement arrival.  She was arrested for the offense the following day by Officers responding to the same area for a report of a suspicious white female.  She then failed to appear in Ridgeland Municipal Court to answer to the charges on November 7th 2016 where she was found guilty during a trial in absence and a second warrant was issued for her arrest.
  • 2:00 p.m. – Three separate shoplifting incidents were reported at the Gulf Station at 8250 East Main Street after a routine review of security footage revealed a white female stealing beer from the business on January 31st and again on February 19th along with a white male.  A second female was captured on video later the same day stealing beer and leaving the area in a gray passenger car.  The footage is being reviewed for suspect identification and pending charges.  If you have any information on the identity of the suspects pictured below please contact Sgt.   • 3:11 p.m. – A red Ford F150 pickup was stopped for a suspended South Carolina tag violation on I-95 South around the 22 mile marker where driver Mark Thomas Smith was found to be operating with no valid insurance coverage.  He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as Little T’s Towing took possession of the vehicle.
  • 3:19 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on Kato Bay Road in reference to a white GMC Sierra pickup towing a trailer.
  • 4:12 p.m. – A white male pedestrian was reported in the roadway on the I-95 Northbound off ramp at the exit 21 interchange.
  • 5:08 p.m. – A legally parked and unoccupied tan Lexus ES300 was struck by an unknown vehicle which then left the area without reporting the collision in the parking lot of Harvey’s Grocery Store at 8205 East Main Street.
  • 5:59 p.m. – A cell phone and a wallet belonging to a female resident of Ridgeway SC was found lying in the roadway on Highway 17 by a passerby and turned over to Ridgeland Officers for return to the rightful owner.
  • 6:46 p.m. – A welfare check was conducted at a residence on East Adams Street in reference to the well being of a child inside of the home.
  • 8:04 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 in reference to a commercial van traveling North between Hardeeville and Ridgeland.

FEBRUARY 19, 2017

  • 12:39 a.m. – A loitering complaint was filed at the Travelodge Motel at 8216 East Main Street in reference to a small group of subjects standing around in the parking lot area.
  • 3:08 a.m. – A verbal domestic dispute between a male and a female was reported at a residence on East Adams Street.
  • 5:53 a.m. – A welfare check was conducted on a female subject claiming that she was being followed in the parking lot of the Quality Inn Motel at 221 James Taylor Drive.
  • 9:04 a.m. – A family with a dog was reportedly walking North on I-95 around the 21 mile marker.
  • 11:53 a.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 30 mile marker in reference to a light blue Chrysler mini van.
  • 12:39 p.m. – A welfare check was conducted at the Ridgeland High School football field at 456 Grays Highway after an open gate was discovered.
  • 1:17 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 26 mile marker in reference to a red and silver tractor trailer.
  • 2:43 p.m. – A male subject was transported by EMS to Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeville from a home on Honeycomb Lane in the Bees Creek Plantation Community after making statements that he may wish to do harm to himself.
  • 4:40 p.m. – A black male was reportedly stealing newspapers from a vending machine outside of the Short Stop BP Station at 10728 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.
  • 9:33 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 28 mile marker in reference to a silver tractor trailer.
  • 10:55 p.m. – A welfare check was conducted at the Ridgeland High School football field concession stand area in reference to an interior light being switched on.

FEBRUARY 18, 2017

  • 7:18 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Ridgeland Baptist Church at 1448 Grays Highway.
  • 7:58 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Regions Bank at 11004 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.
  • 10:50 a.m. – Several pieces of mail addressed to a home on Miller Street were found discarded in the backyard of a residence on Second Avenue.
  • 11:45 a.m. – A 56 year old male having difficulty breathing was transported by EMS from the Short Stop BP Station at 10728 South Jacob Smart Boulevard to Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeville for treatment.
  • 1:04 p.m. – Ridgeland Officers traveled to the Beaufort County Detention Center at 100 Ribaut Road in Beaufort SC where inmate Teisha Lynette Shaw was turned over to their custody and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center in reference to an outstanding warrant issued by the Ridgeland Police Department stemming from a September 12th 2013 traffic stop where she was cited for driving without a license.  She was later found guilty of the charges in Ridgeland Municipal Court on November 4th 2013 and placed on a time payment plan to settle the Court ordered fines which she failed to comply with resulting in a warrant being issued for her arrest.
  • 3:06 p.m. – A welfare check was conducted at the concession stand area at the Ridgeland High School football field at 456 Grays Highway after a group of suspicious males were reportedly attempting to force entry.  Responding Officers found no evidence of any such event.
  • 5:56 p.m. – A female was reportedly involved in an argument with an unknown person in the parking lot of the Quality Inn Motel at 221 James Taylor Drive.  Both subjects left the area prior to Law Enforcement arrival.
  • 7:47 p.m. – An assault was reported by a female complainant at the Rite Aid Pharmacy at 8225 East Main Street.  Further investigation revealed the incident to have occurred at the intersection of Captain Bill and Bees Creek Road at which time the case was forwarded to the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office.
  • 8:15 p.m. – A disturbance was reported at a residence on First Avenue in reference to a male shouting at household members.
  • 10:51 p.m. – A welfare check was conducted at the Bobops Station at 8548 Grahamville Road after a 911 call was received from a female subject stating that she had been brought to the location by a taxi from Georgia and then left behind.

FEBRUARY 17, 2017

  • 7:24 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Ridgeland Boys & Girls Club at 913 Grays Highway.
  • 8:26 a.m. – A suspicious white male was reportedly jumping in and out of traffic and shouting at passing motorists at the I-95 exit 18 interchange.
  • 8:44 a.m. – A road rage incident was reported on I-95 South around the 21 mile marker involving a white tractor trailer and a green Honda CRV.
  • 9:58 a.m. – An animal complaint was filed in reference to two dogs allegedly acting in an aggressive manner outside of a residence on Wise Street.
  • 10:52 a.m. – Ridgeland Officers traveled to the Jasper County Detention Center at 12008 North Jacob Smart Boulevard in service of an outstanding warrant against inmate Brandy Michelle Blaisdell stemming from a February 10th 2017 report filed at the Gulf Station at 8250 East Main Street where she was captured on surveillance video pocketing money from customers paying for their items on numerous occasions during the course of her month long employment.
  • 4:36 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 in reference to a silver chevy pickup traveling North between Hardeeville and Ridgeland.
  • 6:43 p.m. – A suspicious person was reported on Sisters Ferry Road near the West Adams Street intersection.
  • 9:47 p.m. – A noise complaint was filed at a residence on First Avenue in reference to loud music coming from a neighboring home.  A second complaint from a separate residence was received at 10:21 p.m.
  • 10:51 p.m. – A loitering complaint was filed at the Quality Inn Motel at 221 James Taylor Drive in reference to a male subject asking customers and passers by for money in the parking lot area.

FEBRUARY 16, 2017

  • 6:40 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Grayco Building Supply Store at 119 Industrial Park Road.
  • 9:01 a.m. – A complaint was filed at a residence on East Adams Street regarding alleged property damage to a vehicle that occurred two weeks prior but was not reported at the time of the initial incident.
  • 9:05 a.m. – A blue Toyota Avalon was stopped for a suspended South Carolina tag violation on I-95 South around the 21 mile marker where driver Shirena Danielle Collins, 32 of Yemassee SC, was found to be operating under a suspended South Carolina driver’s license as well as having no valid insurance coverage.  She was cited for the offenses and assigned a court date as J&M Towing took possession of the vehicle.
  • 11:14 a.m. – Dervon Jaceif Jones was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center in reference to an outstanding warrant issued by the Ridgeland Police Department after Officers spotted him in the parking lot of the Siesta Motel at 10530 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.  Jones’ charges stemmed from a July 28th 2016 traffic stop at the intersection of East Main and South Logan Street where he fled from pursuing Officers attempting to serve an outstanding felony warrant to the parking lot of Woodridge Apartments at 414 South Logan Street ultimately abandoning the vehicle and running North on foot towards Logan Lane Apartments.  He then called 911 attempting to report the vehicle stolen unaware that the pursuing Officer had already identified him as the driver.  He later turned himself in at the Ridgeland Police Department on August 22nd 2016 and was ultimately found guilty of the misdemeanor charges in Ridgeland Municipal Court on September 12th.  He was then placed on a time payment plan to settle the Court ordered fines which he failed to comply with resulting in an additional warrant being issued for his arrest.
  • 11:50 a.m. – A civil dispute regarding an eviction process was reported at Logan Lane Apartments at 544 South Logan Street.
  • 1:21 p.m. – A silver Dodge Caravan was stopped for displaying a suspended South Carolina tag on I-95 South around the 18 mile marker where driver Tatyana Thomas was found to be operating under a suspended South Carolina driver’s license.  She was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as Webster’s Towing took possession of the vehicle.
  • 5:01 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Nimmer Turf Business Offices at 524 Nimmer Turf Road.
  • 7:18 p.m. – A suspicious black male riding a bicycle was reported in the parking lot of Baytree Apartments at 107 First Avenue.
  • 8:00 p.m. – An assault was reported after the caller was allegedly struck by a male and a female at a residence on Sisters Ferry Road for unknown reasons. Further investigation revealed the initial male complainant to be the primary aggressor in the incident, however, the female at the Sisters Ferry home declined pursuing charges in the matter.
  • 9:17 p.m. – Three suspicious males were reported at the Blue Heron Nature Center at 321 Bailey Lane.

FEBRUARY 15, 2017

  • 12:42 a.m. – A welfare check was conducted at the Gulf Station at 8250 East Main Street after a caller was unable to make contact with the on duty cashier.
  • 2:10 a.m. – A suspicious white Dodge was reported in the parking lot of the EZ Stop IV Station at 80 Blue Heron Drive.
  • 7:36 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Ridgeland Boys & Girls Club at 913 Grays Highway.
  • 9:44 a.m. – A black Toyota Avalon was turned over to Blatchley’s Towing for removal from the area of I-95 North at the exit 21 interchange after being left unoccupied since February 12th.
  • 9:51 a.m. – A complaint was filed by a passing motorist in reference to a red pickup traveling North on I-95 between Hardeeville and Ridgeland with an unsecured barbecue grill in the bed.
  • 10:15 a.m. – A white Honda Odyssey was stopped in the parking lot of the Sunoco Station at 11965 North Jacob Smart Boulevard after the South Carolina tag displayed on the vehicle returned to a GMC Safari.  Driver Amanda Clarice Miller was found to be operating under a suspended South Carolina driver’s license as well as having no valid insurance coverage.  Passenger Christopher Jason Miller, 42 of Okatie SC, was found to be listed as a wanted person by the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office stemming from an outstanding shoplifting warrant at which point he was placed under arrest and turned over to the custody of responding Sheriff’s Deputies for transport to the Jasper County Detention Center.  Amanda Miller was cited for improper tag, driving under suspension, failure to register vehicle and operating uninsured as A-1 Towing took possession of the vehicle.

  • 10:23 a.m. – A welfare check was conducted in reference to a white Volvo tractor trailer parked at the I-95 Northbound truck parking area at the 17 mile marker after the Florida based trucking company was unable to make contact with the driver for an extended period of time.  Responding Officers discovered Ryan Lewis Ridley, 35 of Sarasota FL, unresponsive inside of the cab of the vehicle where he was ultimately declared dead by responding EMS Personnel.  This case is currently under investigation. 
  • 2:41 p.m. – A black Lexus is300 and a gray Toyota Tacoma pickup were involved in a collision at the intersection of Main Street and Highway 17.  No injuries were reported.
  • 6:42 p.m. – A verbal dispute between two males regarding back owed rent payments was reported at a residence on Malphrus Street.
  • 7:12 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on Eleanor Avenue.

FEBRUARY 14, 2017

  • 12:02 a.m. – A verbal domestic dispute between a male and a female was reported at the Econo Lodge Motel at 511 James Taylor Drive.
  • 12:35 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Rite Aid Pharmacy at 8225 East Main Street.
  • 5:11 a.m. – A welfare check was conducted at the Sunoco Station at 11965 North Jacob Smart Boulevard after a passing motorist reported 4 suspicious persons in the parking lot area.
  • 7:28 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Ridgeland Boys & Girls Club.
  • 8:19 a.m. – A Ford Explorer towing a flatbed trailer was involved in a single vehicle collision on I-95 North around the 21 mile marker after blown tire caused the driver to lose control resulting in the trailer striking the vehicle. No injuries were reported. 
  • 12:28 p.m. – A purse was reportedly stolen from a customer at the Dollar General Store at 8123 East Main Street after accidentally being left on the check out counter.  It was later recovered by another female customer just after 3 p.m. in the parking lot area and returned to the rightful owner.  No items were reported missing.
  • 1:06 p.m. – A dispute was reported at the Ridgeland Alternative School at 456 Grays Highway regarding two students becoming argumentative after violating a school policy.
  • 1:13 p.m. – A civil complaint was filed at the Jasper Animal Rescue Mission at 1352 Carters Mill Road.
  • 4:09 p.m. – A harassment complaint was filed by a resident on Three Tee Circle in reference to an ongoing dispute with an estranged family member.
  • 6:06 p.m. – A Battery Pointe resident filed a fraud complaint after receiving information from the IRS that a tax return had been filed in their name by an unauthorized person.
  • 6:28 p.m. – A harassment complaint was filed by a tenant at the Plantation Inn Motel at 11433 North Jacob Smart Boulevard in reference to a verbal dispute with a male acquaintance.
  • 10:33 p.m. – A suspicious blue SUV was reported at the former Southeast Pyrotechnics Warehouse property at 11142 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.

FEBRUARY 13, 2017

  • 7:21 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Ridgeland Boys & Girls Club at 913 Grays Highway.
  • 7:57 a.m. – A black Dodge Avenger and a Mazda B5200 pickup were involved in a collision at the intersection of North Jacob Smart Boulevard and Third Avenue. No injuries were reported.
  • 9:03 a.m. – A report was filed by a Ridgeland homeowner in reference to fraudulent activity appearing on their credit report stemming from a Wal-Mart account being applied for by an unknown person.
  • 10:41 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Cute Stuff Children’s Clothing Store at 7772 West Main Street.
  • 12:23 p.m. – A tractor trailer and a Toyota Rav4 were involved in a collision at the intersection of North Jacob Smart Boulevard and Third Avenue.  No injuries were reported.
  • 12:50 p.m. – A suspicious male on a bicycle was reported at Turpin Park at 901 North Logan Street.
  • 1:03 p.m. – A suspicious male was reported at a residence on West Langford Street.
  • 4:00 p.m. – A white Ford F150 pickup and a white Chevy Impala were involved in a collision at the intersection of North Jacob Smart Boulevard and Captain Bill Road.  No injuries were reported.
  • 4:34 p.m. – A rolling domestic dispute between a male and a female was reported after a 911 call was received from the male party stating that his wife was refusing to let him out of the black Nissan Maxima they were traveling in on I-95 North around the 20 mile marker.
  • 5:00 p.m. – Ridgeland Officers traveled to the Jasper County Detention Center at 12008 North Jacob Smart Boulevard in service of two outstanding warrants against inmate Henry Marcelles Moore following his arrest by Jasper County Sheriff’s Deputies under two unrelated larceny warrants.  Moore’s charges with the Ridgeland Police Department stemmed from a July 23rd 2012 incident at Baytree Apartments at 107 First Avenue where, during a domestic dispute, he forced his way inside of the home by breaking a window and then struck and choked the female occupant before fleeing the area prior to Law Enforcement arrival.
  • 8:41 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm in the area of Promise Way and Miller Street.
  • 8:57 p.m. – A red Buick Regal was stopped on Sisters Ferry Road by the West Adams Street intersection after a check of the South Carolina tag displayed revealed it to be listed as stolen by the Port Royal Police Department.  Driver Sharwain Lomant Bobian Jr. and passenger William Howard were both placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as Hook Ups towing took possession of the vehicle.
  • 9:57 p.m. – A welfare check was conducted at the Econo Lodge Motel at 511 James Taylor Drive after a 911 hang up call was received by Jasper County Emergency Services.  A second call was received at 11:34 p.m.
  • 10:08 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Rite Aid Pharmacy at 8225 East Main Street.
  • 10:33 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Bobops Convenience Store at 8548 Grahamville Road.  A second activation occurred at 11:35 p.m.

FEBRUARY 12, 2017

  • 1:56 a.m. – A blue 2013 Toyota Camry fled from Officers attempting to initiate a traffic stop for a speeding violation on Old House Road traveling East reaching speeds of 116 mph.  The suspect driver ultimately turned onto Saul’s Drive off of Smith’s Crossing and abandoned the vehicle fleeing into a wooded area on foot leaving behind a loaded Sig Sauer 380 caliber handgun on the driver’s side floorboard area.  A check of the handgun and vehicle information revealed them both to be listed as stolen by the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office at which time Detectives arrived on scene and took custody of the vehicle.
  • 6:51 a.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 38 mile marker in reference to a white Infiniti.
  • 8:09 a.m. – A welfare check was conducted on a female driver in a gold Honda parked on the shoulder of the roadway at the I-95 Northbound exit 18 interchange.
  • 8:31 a.m. – A welfare check was conducted on a black Toyota Avalon parked on the shoulder of the roadway on I-95 South around the 21 mile marker.
  • 10:58 a.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North around the 18 mile marker in reference to a white Chevy Impala.
  • 12:12 p.m. – A harassment complaint was filed at the Jackson Hewitt Tax Office at 8176 East Main Street after an employee received numerous threatening telephone messages from a male acquaintance.  A warrant affidavit has been filed against Don Duwayne Grant, 54 of Walterboro SC, charging him with unlawful use of telephone.

  • 3:34 p.m. – Ridgeland Officers assisted Jasper County Deputies in responding to a domestic dispute between a 29 year old male and a 27 year old female at a residence on Lynch’s Ford Road.  The alleged victim declined pursuing charges in the matter.
  • 9:27 p.m. – A civil dispute between a tenant and Management regarding a pet policy was reported at the Forest Motel at 10504 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.
  • 10:59 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North around the 19 mile marker in reference to a tractor trailer.

  • 1:14 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Short Stop BP Station at 10728 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.
  • 1:28 a.m. – A silver Toyota Corolla was stopped for speeding on I-95 South around the 18 mile marker where driver Ciara Timesha Jefferies was found to be operating under a suspended Georgia driver’s license. She was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as Elite Towing took possession of the vehicle.
  • 2:59 a.m. – Ridgeland Officers assisted Jasper County Deputies in responding to a disturbance at Club Pluto at 8812 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.
  • 3:06 a.m. – A suspicious white male was reported in the parking lot area of the EZ Stop IV Station at 80 Blue Heron Drive.
  • 3:28 a.m. – A civil dispute between a female tenant and Management was reported at the Travelodge Motel at 8216 East Main Street.

  • 4:27 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on Benson Lane.
  • 6:48 p.m. – A loitering complaint was filed at the Piggly Wiggly Grocery Store at 10847 North Jacob Smart Boulevard where responding Officers placed David Leslie Williams, 29 of Ridgeland, on trespass notice for the business property at Management’s request.
  • 8:46 p.m. – A complaint was filed at the Travelodge Motel at 8216 East Main Street in reference to a male subject selling illegal narcotics.
  • 9:33 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North around the 18 mile marker in reference to a white Jeep Liberty.
  • 10:36 p.m. – A noise complaint was filed on North Green Street in reference to loud music at a neighboring residence.
  • 10:44 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported at the intersection of Main Street and North Jacob Smart Boulevard in reference to a brown Mazda pickup.

FEBRUARY 10,  2017

  • 12:07 a.m. – A welfare check was conducted on a male subject at the intersection of West Main Street and Railroad Avenue after statements were received that he may wish to do harm to himself.  He was ultimately transported by EMS to Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeville for evaluation.
  • 12:11 a.m. – A report of illegal narcotics and prostitution was filed in reference to alleged activity at the Forest Motel at 10504 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.
  • 4:53 a.m. – A gray BMW Mini Cooper was involved in a single vehicle collision on Highway 462 in front of the Zion Oak Church after striking a deer in the roadway. No injuries were reported.

  • 5:25 a.m. – A wheel hub cover was reportedly stolen from a 2015 Kenworth tractor parked overnight in a vacant lot at the corner of North Jacob Smart Boulevard and West Smith Street.
  • 7:31 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Ridgeland Boys & Girls Club at 913 Grays Highway.

  • 12:45 p.m. – Ridgeland Officers assisted Jasper County Deputies in responding to the Ridgeland School at 250 Jaguar Trail after a bomb threat was received by school officials.
  • 5:08 p.m. – A black Acura Integra was involved in a single vehicle collision on I-95 North around the 22 mile marker after the driver lost control and struck the center median guard wires.  No injuries were reported.
  • 6:10 p.m. – A complaint was filed in reference to a telephone call from a male subject fraudulently claiming to be a Ridgeland Police Officer telling the complainant that a warrant was going to be issued for their arrest stemming from an alleged unpaid hospital bill.  The Ridgeland Police Department would like to remind the Public that this is not the manner in which Law Enforcement conducts business and that money should NEVER be sent over the phone or through a wire transfer unless the sender is fully aware of the true identity and validity of the recipient.
  • 6:29 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on Kato Bay Road in reference to a dark colored BMW SUV.
  • 10:18 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 22 mile marker in reference to a red tractor trailer.
  • 10:51 p.m. – A suspicious black male was reported in the parking lot of the Jasper County Government Offices at 358 Third Avenue.
  • 11:38 p.m. – A white Ford Fusion was stopped for speeding in a posted SCDOT work zone on I-95 South around the 17 mile marker where driver Charles David Black was found to be operating under a suspended North Carolina driver’s license.  He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as Scott’s Automotive took possession of the vehicle.

  • 5:47 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Grayco Building Supply Store at 119 Industrial Park Road.
  • 7:38 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Ridgeland Boys & Girls Club at 913 Grays Highway.
  • 9:20 a.m. – A complaint was filed in reference to a white male allegedly threatening staff members at the Ridgeland Baptist Church at 1448 Grays Highway.  Jon Lamar Brantley, 55 of Ridgeland, was ultimately located at the intersection of First Avenue and Jasper Street just after 11 a.m. and placed on trespass notice for the Church property.
  • 1:35 p.m. – A harassment complaint was filed at a residence on Three Tee Circle in the North Ridge Community in reference to an ongoing issue with an estranged family member.
  • 4:59 p.m. – A suspicious black female was reported at the Dollar General Store at 8123 East Main Street.
  • 6:32 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Morris Center for Lowcountry Heritage at 10782 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.
  • 9:35 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 27 mile marker in reference to a gray tractor trailer.
  • 9:58 p.m. – Two suspicious subjects were reported in a wooded area behind a residence on Ward Court in the Augusta Heights Community.  Responding Officers found that the persons in question were from a neighboring home on Pinckney Court searching for an intoxicated friend who had left the area on foot following a verbal dispute. Officers assisted in searching the area ultimately locating the male who was transported back to the Pinckney Court residence.
  • 11:23 p.m. – A disturbance was reported at The Palms Motel at 10735 South Jacob Smart Boulevard in reference to two individuals allegedly refusing to leave a tenant’s room when ordered.  Brett Lance Burnette, 38, and William Trowell Tuten, 51, were both placed on trespass notice by responding Officers at the Property Manager’s request.

FEBRUARY 8, 2017

  • 7:23 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Ridgeland Boys & Girls Club at 913 Grays Highway.
  • 9:31 a.m. – Ridgeland Officers assisted Jasper County Deputies during a full evacuation of the Ridgeland School at 250 Jaguar Trail after a bomb threat was received by school officials.  A Beaufort Marine Corps Air Station EOD team ultimately cleared the building and normal operations resumed just before 12 p.m.
  • 11:26 a.m. – A welfare check was conducted on 2 small children reportedly left unattended inside of a silver BMW in the parking lot of the Rite Aid Pharmacy at 8225 East Main Street.
  • 3:59 p.m. – An animal complaint was filed in reference to stray dogs running in the roadway in front of the Ridgeland School at 250 Jaguar Trail.
  • 4:41 p.m. – A suspicious Hispanic male allegedly impersonating a Police Officer was reported at the tennis court area of Turpin Park at 901 North Logan Street.
  • 5:59 p.m. – Ridgeland Officers traveled to the Beaufort County Detention Center at 100 Ribaut Road in Beaufort SC where inmate James Henry Carter was turned over to their custody and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center in reference to an outstanding warrant issued against him by the Ridgeland Police Department.  Carter’s charges stemmed from a February 6th 2017 incident at Logan Lane Apartments at 544 South Logan Street when he armed himself with a knife and threatened the life of a 55 year old female family friend who had arrived there to assist Carter’s Mother following a recent surgery.
  • 7:40 p.m. – A verbal domestic dispute between a male and a female was reported at Heron Crossing Apartments at 72 Heron Crossing Drive.  A second response was dispatched at 8:18 p.m.

  • 7:24 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Ridgeland Boys & Girls Club at 913 Grays Highway.
  • 7:35 a.m. – A civil dispute was reported at a residence on Second Avenue in reference to a recent driveway repair job.
  • 8:00 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on Benson Lane.
  • 12:28 p.m. – A white Chevy Tahoe was stopped for speeding on I-95 North around the 23 mile marker where driver Daniel Smyrn Georges was found to be operating under a suspended Florida driver’s license.  He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as the vehicle was released to a licensed passenger.
  • 3:23 p.m. – A complaint was filed at the Piggly Wiggly Grocery Store at 10847 North Jacob Smart Boulevard in reference to a white female soliciting sex from customers and passers by in the parking lot area .  Responding Officers located Alexis Marie Deason, 27 of Ridgeland, behind the business where she was placed on trespass notice at Management’s request and ordered off of the property.
  • 3:27 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 in reference to a black Dodge Journey traveling North between Hardeeville and Ridgeland.
  • 3:41 p.m. – A noise complaint was filed at a residence on Third Avenue in reference to low flying airplanes.
  • 5:20 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Ridgeland Physical Therapy Office at 10616 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.
  • 5:37 p.m. – A harassment complaint was filed at a residence on First Avenue in reference to a female subject attempting to instigate a fight regarding a larceny case filed with the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office.
  • 7:41 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Palmetto Eye Specialists Office at 10911 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.
  • 8:57 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Aussie Auto Body Shop at 1010 West Adams Street.
  • 11:27 p.m. – A welfare check was conducted on a female subject at the Travelodge Motel at 8216 East Main Street after being left without transportation by the person she was traveling with following a verbal argument.
  • 11:59 p.m. – A report of several gunshots being fired was filed at Logan Lane Apartments at 544 South Logan Street.

FEBRUARY 6, 2017

  • 5:19 a.m. – Ridgeland Officers assisted Jasper County Deputies in responding to an activated alarm at Webster’s Towing at 10137 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.
  • 7:24 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Ridgeland Boys & Girls Club at 913 Grays Highway.
  • 7:42 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on Benson Lane.  A second activation occurred at 1:15 p.m.
  • 11:45 a.m. – A black Ford F150 pickup was involved in a single vehicle collision at the I-95 North exit 22 off ramp after the driver lost control and struck a group of trees.  No injuries were reported.

  • 12:41 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on Brandon Cove in the North Ridge Community.
  • 1:31 p.m. – A breach of trust was reported at the KFC Restaurant at 8146 East Main Street after an employee was captured on surveillance video giving away food items without charging the appropriate amount.  Management declined pursuing charges in the matter after terminating the employee’s position.
  • 6:38 p.m. – An assault was reported at a residence at Logan Lane Apartments at 544 South Logan Street after a male inside of the home armed himself with a knife and threatened the life of a 55 year old female family friend who had arrived to assist the suspect’s Mother after undergoing surgery.  The suspect left the area on foot prior to Law Enforcement arrival after the victim informed him that she was calling 911.  A warrant affidavit has been filed against James Henry Carter, 32, under the charge of assault with a deadly weapon.

  • 2:59 a.m. – A suspicious black male was reported in the parking lot of the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office at 12008 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.
  • 3:54 a.m. – A suspicious silver Mercedes was reported at the intersection of Highway 17 and Smith’s Crossing.
  • 12:01 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at Ken’s Tire Service at 10464 South Jacob Smart Boulevard where an unsecured door was discovered. No persons were found inside and no evidence of criminal activity was discovered.
  • 2:39 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 in reference to a silver Hyundai Sonata traveling North between Hardeeville and Ridgeland.
  • 3:16 p.m. – A suspicious incident was reported at a residence on West Adams Street after the complainant discovered personal property at a neighboring home.
  • 4:01 p.m. – A harassment complaint was filed at a residence on Shadetree Street in the Carters Mill Estates Community in reference to an estranged spouse driving by the complainant’s home several times.

FEBRUARY 4, 2017

  • 12:51 a.m. – A suspicious person was reported in the parking lot of the 21 Center at 8120 East Main Street.
  • 1:12 a.m. – An open door was discovered at a closed business on South Jacob Smart Boulevard.  No persons were discovered inside and no evidence of criminal activity was found.
  • 1:36 a.m. – A suspicious vehicle was reported in the parking lot of the Harvey’s Grocery Store at 8250 East Main Street in reference to a silver Dodge pickup.
  • 4:46 a.m. – Ridgeland Officers assisted Jasper County Deputies during a traffic stop on a silver Nissan at the intersection of West Main Street and North Railroad Avenue where driver Zachary James Gaymon, 22 of Ridgeland SC, was ultimately placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center by South Carolina Highway Patrol Officers under the charge of driving under the influence.

  • 5:59 a.m. – A welfare check was conducted on a female tenant at the Econo Lodge Motel at 511 James Taylor Drive after a 911 call from an out of town relative concerned about her well being.
  • 7:46 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on Honeycomb Court in the Bees Creek Plantation Community.
  • 7:56 a.m. – A black 32″ LG flat screen television was reportedly stolen from a tenant’s room at the Travelodge Motel at 8216 East Main Street.
  • 9:29 a.m. – A white Dodge Caravan was stopped for speeding in the parking lot of the Sunoco Station at 11965 North Jacob Smart Boulevard where driver Jose Manuel Jacinto-Cisneros was found to be operating without a driver’s license. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as Blatchley’s Towing took possession of the vehicle.
  • 11:43 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Ridgeland Boys & Girls Club at 913 Grays Highway.
  • 12:18 p.m. – Several business owned items were reportedly stolen from a recently vacated room at the Quality Inn Motel at 221 James Taylor Drive.

  • 2:19 p.m. – A tan Kia van and a black Mercedes passenger car were involved in a collision in the parking lot of the Shell Station at 8309 East Main Street.  No injuries were reported.
  • 2:30 p.m. – A green Ford F150 pickup was stopped for speeding on I-95 South around the 20 mile marker where driver Peter Francis Cullen was found to be in possession of a quantity of marijuana.  He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as A-1 Towing took possession of the vehicle.
  • 9:11 p.m. – A Regions Bank Visa debit card was turned over to Ridgeland Officers after being discovered lying in the parking lot of the Dollar General Store at 8123 East Main Street by a customer exiting the store.
  • 9:34 p.m. – A suspicious white male was reported in the parking lot of the Quality Inn Motel at 221 James Taylor Drive.

FEBRUARY 3, 2017

  • 5:33 a.m. – A suspicious white male was reported at the EZ Stop IV Station at 80 Blue Heron Drive.
  • 7:19 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Ridgeland Boys & Girls Club at 913 Grays Highway.  A second activation occurred at 7:40 a.m. and a third at 8:58 a.m.
  • 10:42 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Cute Stuff Children’s Consignment Shop at 7772 West Main Street.
  • 11:26 a.m. – A reckless driver complaint was filed in reference to three motorcycles traveling South on I-95 around the 26 mile marker.
  • 2:34 p.m. – A welfare check was conducted on a black male subject at the Blue Heron Nature Trail.
  • 3:07 p.m. – An incorrigible juvenile complaint was filed at a residence on Shadetree Street in reference to a 15 year old male.
  • 5:35 p.m. – A forgery was reported at the Bank of Walterboro at 8058 East Main Street after a customer presented a paycheck from a local business with alterations to the dollar amount in an effort to collect $1,000 more than the original intended amount.  The suspect fled from the bank on foot after seeing Law Enforcement arriving on scene but returned a short time later of his own accord.  Jeremiah Jamal Shaw was ultimately placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center under a charge of forgery.
  • 7:17 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the K&L Granite Showroom at 11742 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.  A second activation occurred at 7:38 p.m.
  • 10:44 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 in reference to a white flatbed tractor trailer traveling North between Hardeeville and Ridgeland.

FEBRUARY 2, 2017

  • 7:37 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Ridgeland Boys & Girls Club at 913 Grays Highway.
  • 9:52 a.m. – A fight between two 15 year old male students occurred at the Ridgeland Alternative School at 456 Grays Highway resulting in a staff member, attempting to separate the two, being unintentionally struck in the face.  A juvenile petition was filed against the primary aggressor involved in the incident and forwarded to the Jasper County DJJ Office.
  • 10:03 a.m. – A welfare check was conducted at a residence at Logan Lane Apartments at 544 South Logan Street after a male tenant with previous mental health issues began sending threatening text messages to an out of town relative.
  • 12:13 p.m. – A report was filed at the South State Bank at 10671 South Jacob Smart Boulevard in reference to a customer’s vehicle allegedly striking a post in the parking lot area during an unreported incident two weeks ago.
  • 12:17 p.m. – A red Ford Fusion and a green Toyota Camry were involved in a collision in the parking lot of the Short Stop BP Station at 10728 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.  No injuries were reported.
  • 12:52 p.m. – A verbal dispute between an employee and a female customer was reported at the Family Dollar Store at 73 South Green Street.
  • 3:13 p.m. – A harassment complaint involving an estranged family member sending unwanted text messages was filed at a residence on Three Tee Circle in the North Ridge Community.
  • 6:47 p.m. – A welfare check was conducted in the parking lot of the EZ Stop IV Station at 80 Blue Heron Drive after a female customer in a gold Infinity parked at the fuel pumps reportedly began striking children in the back seat of the vehicle.
  • 7:36 p.m. – Two Bank of America credit cards were turned over to Ridgeland Officers after being discovered in the parking lot of the Quality Inn Motel at 221 James Taylor Drive by the on duty front desk clerk.  Bank of America was contacted at which time the Officer was advised to destroy the cards.
  • 8:36 p.m. – A silver Nissan Altima was struck by a white Chevy Impala in the parking lot of the Rite Aid Pharmacy at 8225 East Main Street ending with the driver of the Impala fleeing the area prior to Law Enforcement arrival.  The suspect vehicle was shortly after located at a residence on Shadetree Street in the Carters Mill Estates Community where driver Alejandro Valeriano Garcia, 18 of Ridgeland, was cited and assigned a court date under the charge of leaving the scene of a collision.  No injuries were reported.
  • 9:38 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on Old House Road in reference to a white GMC pickup.
  • 10:01 p.m. – Three suspicious Hispanic males were reported at the intersection of East Main and North Logan Street.
  • 11:23 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the O’Reilly Auto Parts Store at 11058 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.

FEBRUARY 1, 2017

  • 6:44 a.m. – A welfare check was conducted at the Sunoco Station at 11965 North Jacob Smart Boulevard after an open line 911 call was received by Jasper County Emergency Services.
  • 7:21 a.m. – A suspicious white male was reported in the parking lot of the Bank of Walterboro at 8058 East Main Street.
  • 7:26 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Ridgeland Boys & Girls Club at 913 Grays Highway.
  • 10:44 a.m. – A larceny was reported at Logan Lane Apartments at 544 South Logan Street after the complainant discovered that the South Carolina tag had been removed from their black Mercedes E320 sometime during the overnight hours.
  • 11:41 a.m. – A complaint was filed in reference to a small child seated in the front seat of a green Chevy Impala traveling North on Jacob Smart Boulevard at the Captain Bill Road intersection.
  • 1:52 p.m. – A white Lincoln Continental and a blue Toyota Camry were involved in a collision in the parking lot of the Family Dollar Store at 73 South Green Street. No injuries were reported.
  • 4:43 p.m. – A harassment complaint involving an estranged family member was filed at a residence on Three Tee Circle in the North Ridge Community.
  • 5:24 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Grayco Building Supply Store at 119 Industrial Park Road.
  • 6:03 p.m. – A complaint was filed at the Dollar General Store at 8123 East Main Street after a black female customer was ordered by Management to leave the business property after being identified as one of two females captured on surveillance video stealing store items during an unreported incident on January 21st.  Shyleema Monay Jenkins, 17 of Ridgeland SC, was ultimately placed on trespass notice for the Dollar General property as her Mother paid the full value of the stolen items to the business.
  • 6:47 p.m. – A suspicious black male was reported in front of the Green Street Storage Facility at 261 South Green Street.
  • 8:36 p.m. – A larceny was reported at the Perry Storage Facility at 716 West Adams Street after a lock was cut on a unit which was recently secured due to failure to pay storage fees and the items removed.
  • 10:05 p.m. – An intoxicated driver was reported on Grays Highway at the Washboard Lane intersection in reference to a white Ford F150 pickup.
