DAILY CRIME REPORTS – December, 2016

THE FOLLOWING INCIDENTS ARE AN ACCOUNT OF CALLS AND CASES RESPONDED TO BY OFFICERS OF THE RIDGELAND POLICE DEPARTMENT. THESE CASES ARE CLOSED OR CURRENTLY UNDER INVESTIGATION. DECEMBER 31, 2016

  • 1:15 a.m. – Ridgeland Officers assisted Jasper County Deputies in responding to a residence on Captain Bill Road after an open line 911 call was received by Jasper County Emergency Services.
  • 1:15 a.m. – A report of illegal drug activity was filed in reference to a rented room at the Carolina Lodge Motel at 8260 East Main Street.
  • 1:51 a.m. – A black male was captured on surveillance video stealing store items from the Gulf Station at 8250 East Main Street.  When told to return the items by the on duty clerk the suspect became angry and began swearing at her stating that he could take whatever he wanted before throwing an unopened beer can at her.  The suspect then left the business property in a white vehicle prior to Law Enforcement arrival.  The video footage is being reviewed for suspect identification and pending charges.
  • 3:31 a.m. – A white Toyota Camry was stopped for speeding on Old House Road around the Good Hope Plantation entrance where driver Rondeal Simmons was found to be operating under a suspended South Carolina driver’s license.  A probable cause search of the vehicle revealed a SCCY 9mm handgun inside of the glove compartment which was listed as stolen by the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office.  A check of Simmons’ criminal history revealed him to be a convicted felon prohibited from possessing a firearm or ammunition resulting in an additional charge.  He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as the vehicle was released to a licensed passenger.
  • 3:53 a.m. – Three black females were captured on surveillance video eating at the Waffle House Restaurant at 8185 East Main Street and then leaving the business property in a blue Ford Mustang without paying their bill.  The video footage is being reviewed for suspect identification and pending charges.
  • 10:49 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Ridgeland Boys & Girls Club at 913 Grays Highway.
  • 11:20 a.m. – A theft was reported at the Carolina Lodge Motel at 8260 East Main Street in reference to several items missing from a tenant’s belongings after he allowed a homeless male subject and a female to share his room overnight. Surveillance video is being reviewed for suspect identification and pending charges.
  • 11:44 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Ridgeland Baptist Church at 1448 Grays Highway.
  • 12:18 p.m. – A welfare check was conducted in a wooded area behind a residence on Shadetree Street in the Carters Mill Estates Community after an open line 911 call was received by Jasper County Emergency Services.
  • 12:20 p.m. – A verbal domestic dispute between a male and a female was reported at Heron Crossing Apartments at 72 Heron Crossing Drive.
  • 3:04 p.m. – An Acura TSX and a Mercedes c350 were involved in a collision at the intersection of East Adams Street and South Jacob Smart Boulevard.  No injuries were reported.
  • 3:09 p.m. – A report was filed by a motorist in the parking lot of the Wendy’s Restaurant at 8480 Grahamville Road after a juvenile passenger in the caller’s vehicle accidentally struck the side of a black Chrysler Town & Country van parked next to their blue Hyundai Santa Fe when exiting.  The occupants of the van then began accusing the child of denting the vehicle but left the business property when told that Law Enforcement was en route to investigate the matter.
  • 3:45 p.m. – A civil dispute between a customer and Management regarding a purchase was reported at the Shell Station at 8309 East Main Street.
  • 4:12 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 42 mile marker in reference to a tractor trailer.
  • 5:01 p.m. – A report of illegal drug activity was filed in reference to a rented room at the Carolina Lodge Motel at 8260 East Main Street.
  • 5:19 p.m. – A suspicious white male was reported outside of the Jasper’s Porch Restaurant at 153 James Taylor Drive.
  • 6:22 p.m. – A 29 year old female was transported by EMS to Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeville for evaluation and treatment after reportedly making statements that she may wish to do harm to herself.
  • 6:26 p.m. – A Toyota Camry and a Ford Explorer were involved in a collision on Old House Road at the Honey Hill curve.  The driver of the Ford was transported by EMS to Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeville for treatment.
  • 6:28 p.m. – A Ford Taurus and a Ford Edge were involved in a collision at the intersection of West Main Street and Great Swamp Road where the driver of the Edge, David Taylor Jr., was found to be operating under a suspended South Carolina driver’s license.  He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as his vehicle was released to a licensed driver. No injuries were reported in regards to the collision.
  • 8:57 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the O’Reilly Auto Parts Store at 11058 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.
  • 10:45 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North at the exit 21 interchange in reference to a silver Honda Accord.  The vehicle was last seen turning in to the Burger King Restaurant parking lot at 8257 East Main Street.
  • 11:05 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North at the exit 18 interchange.  No vehicle description was provided. 

DECEMBER 30, 2016

  • 1:52 a.m. – A suspicious vehicle was reported in the parking lot of Heron Crossing Apartments at 72 Heron Crossing Drive after the caller was awakened by a continuous car horn.  Responding Officers found the vehicle to be having a mechanical malfunction.
  • 2:38 a.m. – Two suspicious males were reported in the parking lot of the KFC Restaurant at 8146 East Main Street.
  • 7:58 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Ridgeland Baptist Church at 1448 Grays Highway.
  • 9:15 a.m. – A civil dispute was reported at the Ridgeland Car Wash at 10246 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.
  • 12:31 p.m. – A burgundy Honda CRV and a black Toyota Echo were involved in a collision on I-95 North around the 21 mile marker.  No injuries were reported.
  • 2:41 p.m. – A report was filed by a Custodial Officer at the Ridgeland Correctional Institution at 5 Correctional Road after she was allegedly assaulted by an inmate on December 28th resulting in her suffering injuries to her neck, shoulders, knees and head.
  • 3:31 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 33 mile marker in reference to a gray Mercedes.
  • 4:55 p.m. – A welfare check was conducted at the Dairy Queen Restaurant at 80 Blue Heron Drive after a 911 call was received of a possible domestic dispute between a male and female.
  • 7:19 p.m. – A suspicious Hispanic male was reported on Smith’s Crossing allegedly making accusations to the caller of a possible attempted kidnapping at the Ralph Tuten Memorial Park on East Main Street.  Responding Officers found no evidence of any such event.
  • 7:52 p.m. – A suspicious person was reported at the EZ Stop IV Station at 80 Blue Heron Drive where responding Officers discovered Dentzel R. Mitchell, 20 of Pineland SC, to be in possession of a quantity of marijuana.  He was cited for the offense and assigned a court date prior to leaving the area.
  • 8:41 p.m. – Ridgeland Officers assisted Jasper County Deputies in responding to a residence on Gillison Branch Road after two white males fired a single gunshot as they were leaving the home where they had been in search of a male acquaintance.  The incident reportedly stems from a dispute between one of the males and an ex-girlfriend.
  • 10:08 p.m. – A suspicious vehicle was reported in the parking lot of the Jasper’s Porch Restaurant at 153 James Taylor Drive.
  • 10:21 p.m. – A welfare check was conducted at a residence on Shadetree Street in the Carters Mill Estates Community after a 911 hang up call was received by Jasper County Emergency Services.
  • 10:45 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 in reference to a dark gray SUV traveling North between Hardeeville and Ridgeland.

DECEMBER 29, 2016

  • 2:16 a.m. – Ridgeland Officers assisted Jasper County Deputies in responding to a domestic dispute between a male and a female at a residence on Grays Highway where Jill Susanne Wagner, 35, was ultimately placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center under the charge of domestic violence 3rd.

  • 7:54 a.m. – A silver Ford F150 pickup was involved in a single vehicle collision on Fordville Road after the driver lost control of the vehicle and struck a tree.  No injuries were reported.
  • 9:37 a.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 33 mile marker in reference to a silver Toyota pickup.
  • 1:09 p.m. – A cell phone was reported stolen from an employee at Harvey’s Grocery Store at 8205 East Main Street after being accidentally left in the store restroom.
  • 2:29 p.m. – A motor home towing a passenger car was reportedly traveling South on I-95 around the 33 mile marker with a defective headlight dangling near the roadway.
  • 6:18 p.m. – A welfare check was conducted on a yellow Ford Mustang on I-95 South around the 18 mile marker after reports were received from passing motorists that it may have been involved in a collision.  Responding Officers discovered driver Ronald Joseph Berridge attempting to execute a three point turn in order to travel North in the Southbound lanes of travel.  Further investigation revealed him to be operating under the influence of alcohol as well as being in possession of an open container of whiskey which he had been consuming while driving from Raleigh NC to Tampa FL.  He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as Scott’s Automotive took possession of the vehicle.
  • 7:25 p.m. – A 911 call was received from a passing motorist on I-95 South around the 20 mile marker in reference to a dog in the bed of a blue pickup allegedly being in danger of falling from the moving vehicle.
  • 7:44 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 in reference to a silver tractor trailer traveling North between Hardeeville and Ridgeland.
  • 9:09 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 33 mile marker in reference to a white tractor trailer.

DECEMBER 28, 2016

  • 12:47 a.m. – A welfare check was conducted at the Waffle House Restaurant at 8185 East Main Street after a 911 call was received from a passing motorist stating that they were being followed.
  • 5:47 a.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 21 mile marker in reference to a tractor trailer.
  • 9:29 a.m. – A suspicious Hispanic male was reported outside of a residence on North Green Street.
  • 10:11 a.m. – Two dogs were reportedly stolen by a group of male juveniles from outside of a residence on Oakridge North in the Oakridge Trailer Park Community.  The complainant declined pursuing charges in the matter.
  • 10:21 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on Fourth Avenue.
  • 12:21 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Ridgeland Baptist Church at 1448 Grays Highway.
  • 1:36 p.m. – A suspicious vehicle was reported at the intersection of East Woodlawn and South Logan Street.
  • 2:43 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on Fifth Avenue.
  • 4:00 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 22 mile marker in reference to a white tractor trailer.
  • 4:34 p.m. – A domestic dispute between a male and a female was reported at Woodridge Apartments at 414 South Logan Street as the male party was gathering personal items while in the process of moving out.  Frankie Lee Burton, 31 of Beaufort SC, was ultimately placed on trespass notice by responding Officers at the Property Manager’s request.
  • 5:08 p.m. – A Chevy Silverado 1500 pickup and a Ford F150 pickup were involved in a collision in front of the Farm Bureau Insurance Office at 9438 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.  No injuries were reported.
  • 6:25 p.m. – A welfare check was conducted at the Travelodge Motel at 8216 East Main Street after a 911 hang up call was received by Jasper County Emergency Services.
  • 6:28 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Ridgeland Baptist Church at 1448 Grays Highway.
  • 6:40 p.m. – Two tractor trailers were involved in a collision in the truck parking area on I-95 South at the 17 mile marker.  No injuries were reported.
  • 7:45 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 24 mile marker.  No vehicle description was provided.
  • 10:04 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 33 mile marker in reference to a red flatbed tractor trailer.

DECEMBER 27, 2016

  • 1:22 a.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 28 mile marker in reference to a maroon SUV.
  • 2:01 a.m. – A complaint was filed at Schooner’s Bar & Grill at 10953 North Jacob Smart Boulevard after a female patron reportedly refused to leave the business property when ordered by staff members.  Responding Officers placed Amy Michelle O’Connor, 37 of Ridgeland SC, on trespass notice at Management’s request without incident.
  • 2:21 a.m. – Ridgeland Officers assisted Jasper County Deputies in responding to a 911 call from a motorist traveling North on I-95 around the 16 mile marker after a female inside of the vehicle with a history of mental illness began exhibiting signs of irrational behavior and threatening to do harm to herself running from the vehicle towards the roadway. She was ultimately transported by EMS to Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeville for analysis and treatment.
  • 4:30 a.m. – A motorist traveling South on I-95 reportedly recovered a wallet at a rest area in Walterboro SC.  The item was turned over to Ridgeland Officers who were ultimately able to make contact with the rightful owner by telephone.
  • 11:40 a.m. – A welfare check was conducted at the Ridgeland Weekly Rentals at 67 West Woodlawn Street after a healthcare worker was unable to make contact with a male patient for an extended period of time.  It was later determined that the tenant in question had been hospitalized since December 23rd.
  • 1:41 p.m. – Several articles of children’s clothing were found discarded in the Ridgeland Cemetery at the intersection of Smith’s Crossing and Sycamore Drive.
  • 1:52 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 30 mile marker in reference to a black BMW.
  • 4:21 p.m. – A black male driving a white Chevy Impala was captured on surveillance video breaking into two unoccupied vehicles and stealing items in the parking lot of the Main Street Pharmacy at 7752 West Main Street at approximately 2 p.m. Evidence collected at the scene has been submitted to the SLED Forensics Laboratory for analysis and suspect identification.
  • 4:41 p.m. – A suspicious person was reported at the Advance America Store at 8120 East Main Street.
  • 7:43 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 in reference to a tractor trailer traveling North between Hardeeville and Ridgeland.
  • 8:24 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on Grays Highway in reference to a beige Buick LeSabre traveling East at the Pine Forest Loop intersection.
  • 9:14 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on Bailey Lane.
  • 10:19 p.m. – A welfare check was conducted on a female pedestrian on East Main Street after a suspicious 911 call was received by Jasper County Emergency Services.
  • 11:34 p.m. – A complaint was filed at the Gulf Station at 8250 East Main Street after a white female driving a black passenger car reportedly threw trash out of her vehicle following a verbal dispute with the on duty cashier.  The vehicle left the area traveling South on I-95 prior to Law Enforcement arrival.

DECEMBER 26, 2016

  • 5:57 a.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North around the 13 mile marker in reference to a gray passenger car.
  • 7:50 a.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 28 mile marker in reference to a gray Mercury passenger car.
  • 10:12 a.m. – An open door was discovered at the El Ranchito Restaurant at 11382 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.
  • 11:13 a.m. – A suspicious person was reported outside of the KFC Restaurant at 8146 East Main Street.
  • 12:25 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Ridgeland Baptist Church at 1448 Grays Highway.
  • 12:26 p.m. – An elderly white male pedestrian was reportedly walking North on I-95 around the 21 mile marker.
  • 1:18 p.m. – A possible theft was reported at a residence on Sailfish Circle in the Carters Mill Estates Community.  The item in question was ultimately located inside of the home.
  • 3:11 p.m. – A female customer allegedly fell inside of the Piggly Wiggly Grocery Store at 10847 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.  She left the area of her own accord prior to Law Enforcement arrival.
  • 3:15 p.m. – A tan Chevy Silverado pickup and a gray Ford Escape were involved in a collision in the parking lot of the Citgo Station at 107 Sycamore Drive.  No injuries were reported.
  • 3:51 p.m. – A gray Toyota Prius, a black Toyota Avalon and a white Chevy van were involved in a collision on I-95 North around the 20 mile marker.  No injuries were reported.
  • 5:00 p.m. – A burgundy Honda Accord was stopped for speeding in front of the Carquest Auto Parts Store at 11059 North Jacob Smart Boulevard where driver Faith Benetha Oree, 27 of Yemassee SC, was found to be in possession of a quantity of marijuana.  She was cited for the offense and assigned a court date prior to leaving the area.
  • 5:11 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on Mcteer Street.
  • 5:18 p.m. – A possible child abuse case was reported in reference to suspicious bruising on a 2 year old male.
  • 9:52 p.m. – A black Dodge Durango and a red Nissan Versa were involved in a collision on I-95 South around the 21 mile marker.  Two subjects were transported by EMS to Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeville for treatment.
  • 9:58 p.m. – Ridgeland Officers assisted Jasper County Deputies in responding to a domestic dispute reportedly involving a firearm between a male and a female at a residence on Kings Colony Drive.

DECEMBER 25, 2016

  • 1:52 a.m. – Several gunshots were reportedly being fired from the area of the Carters Mill Estates Community.
  • 8:18 a.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North around the 14 mile marker in reference to a red Kenworth tractor trailer.
  • 8:54 a.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North around the 18 mile marker in reference to a red Chevy Camaro convertible.
  • 10:20 a.m. – A welfare check was conducted in the Oakridge Trailer Park Community after two open line 911 calls were received by Jasper County Emergency Services.
  • 4:36 p.m. – Ridgeland Officers assisted Jasper County Deputies in responding to a domestic dispute between two brothers and their Mother involving a firearm and gunshots being fired at a residence on Fordville Road.  One of the subjects involved, 42 year old Anthony Antonio Alston, was found to be listed as a wanted person by the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office in reference to an outstanding Family Court bench warrant resulting in him being placed under arrest by responding Deputies and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center. None of the involved parties wished to pursue charges in the incident.

  • 6:12 p.m. – A dispute between a male and a female was reported in the parking lot of the Forest Motel at 10504 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.
  • 7:16 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 22 mile marker in reference to a blue over gray Chevy pickup.
  • 7:40 p.m. – A suspicious gold Ford Ranger pickup was reported outside of the Ridgeland Correctional Institution at 5 Correctional Road.
  • 8:33 p.m. – A tan Toyota Camry was stopped for a failure to dim headlights violation at the intersection of West Main and Green Street where driver Carl Mathew Long was found to be operating under a suspended South Carolina driver’s license stemming from a previous DUI conviction. Further investigation revealed him to be in possession of an open container of beer at which time he was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as Webster’s Towing took possession of the vehicle.
  • 8:54 p.m. – A verbal dispute between a male and a female was reported in the parking lot of the Carolina Lodge Motel at 8260 East Main Street.
  • 9:22 p.m. – A suspicious vehicle was reported in the parking lot of the Exxon Station at 8310 East Main Street.
  • 10:46 p.m. – A suspicious vehicle was reported in the parking lot of the Blue Heron Nature Center at 321 Bailey Lane.

DECEMBER 24, 2016

  • 3:48 a.m. – A suspicious person was reported in the North Ridge Community.
  • 5:14 a.m. – Ridgeland Officers assisted EMS Personnel responding to a residence at Woodridge Apartments at 414 South Logan Street in reference to a 74 year old male resident who had fallen down inside of the home and couldn’t get to the door.  Officers ultimately forced entry into the residence in order for EMS to render aid to the patient.
  • 11:01 a.m. – A theft was reported at the Family Dollar Store at 73 South Green Street after a black male subject opened the door of a blue BMW left unlocked in the parking lot and removed a bag containing trash.  The suspect then left the area in an unknown direction.
  • 12:23 p.m. – Ridgeland Officers traveled to the Hampton County Detention Center at 411 Cemetery Road in Varnville SC where inmate Jocelyn E. Rivera was turned over to their custody and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center in reference to an outstanding warrant issued against her by the Ridgeland Police Department.  Rivera’s charges stemmed from a May 31st 2014 traffic stop where she was cited for driving without a license.  She then failed to appear in Ridgeland Municipal Court on June 30th 2014 to answer to the charge where she was found guilty during a trial in absence and a warrant was issued for her arrest.
  • 1:30 p.m. – A suspicious white male was reported on First Avenue.
  • 2:43 p.m. – Ridgeland Officers assisted EMS Personnel in responding to a 42 year old male tenant possibly having a seizure at the Palms Motel at 10735 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.  The subject was ultimately transported to Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeville for treatment.
  • 4:15 p.m. – A suspicious white male was reported at the intersection of West Main Street and Sisters Ferry Road.
  • 4:42 p.m. – A harassment complaint was filed at a residence on Owens Street in reference to an ongoing dispute with a female at a neighboring home.
  • 6:17 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Shinetown Distillery at 857 James Taylor Drive.
  • 6:46 p.m. – Ridgeland Officers assisted Jasper County Deputies in responding to a possible fight in progress involving numerous parties at a residence on Holly Street.
  • 9:04 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on Grahamville Road in reference to a black Chevy Silverado pickup traveling West.
  • 10:43 p.m. – A noise complaint was filed on Shadetree Street in the Carters Mill Estates Community in reference to loud music coming from a neighboring home.
  • 11:00 p.m. – A welfare check was conducted at the Waffle House Restaurant at 8185 East Main Street.

DECEMBER 23, 2016

  • 2:00 a.m. – A disturbance was reported at a residence on Weathersbee Street after the homeowner was awakened to an unknown black male subject beating on the front door breaking a window glass and several flowerpots.  Responding Officers discovered Charles Lee Logan Jr. standing on the front porch where he was placed under arrest and transported by EMS to Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeville for treatment to wounds he received when breaking the window glass as well as statements that he had ingested a large amount of illegal narcotics.  Once treated and released from the hospital Logan was transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.
  • 7:15 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Ridgeland Baptist Church at 1448 Grays Highway.
  • 9:12 a.m. – A report was received of a black male armed with a handgun in a blue Honda Accord in the parking lot of the Carolina Lodge Motel at 8260 East Main Street.  Responding Officers spotted a subject matching the given description who refused to cooperate and ultimately fled from the Officer attempting to gather his information. Antonio Durell-Ray Watson was shortly after located hiding in a fenced in area behind the Pizza Bella Restaurant at 8196 East Main Street where he was detained without further incident.  A search of the route he took to flee from Police revealed a fully loaded Ruger 40 caliber handgun inside of a trash can in a breezeway at the Travelodge Motel at 8216 East Main Street as well as a bag containing various personal items including his South Carolina driver’s license inside of a dumpster behind the New Hong Kong Restaurant at 8176 East Main Street.  The handgun was submitted to the SLED Forensics Laboratory for analysis and pending additional charges.
  • 12:47 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on Brandon Cove in the North Ridge Community.
  • 1:34 p.m. – A welfare check was conducted on a male driver sleeping behind the wheel of a gray vehicle parked on the side of the roadway on I-95 South around the 17 mile marker.
  • 5:22 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 in reference to a red Nissan Rogue traveling North between Hardeeville and Ridgeland.
  • 6:04 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on Highway 17 in reference to a silver Ford Mustang traveling North between Hardeeville and Ridgeland.
  • 7:14 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North around the 22 mile marker in reference to a gray Nissan Frontier.
  • 9:57 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 20 mile marker in reference to a tractor trailer.
  • 11:52 p.m. – A suspicious vehicle was reported in the parking lot of the Short Stop BP Station at 10728 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.

DECEMBER 22, 2016

  • 12:53 a.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North around the 12 mile marker in reference to a white Cadillac Escalade.  Ridgeland Officers soon after spotted the vehicle passing the 21 mile marker where the driver slowed to 45 mph and made numerous moving violations.  A traffic stop was initiated as the vehicle exited I-95 at the 22 interchange ultimately stopping in the parking lot of the Sunoco Station at 11965 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.  Driver Daniel Brandan Sampson was found to be operating under a suspended North Carolina driver’s license as well as being in possession of an open container of alcohol at which time he was placed under arrest.  Passenger Joseph F. Oxendine was also found to be in possession of an open container for which he was cited and assigned a court date prior to leaving the area.  Sampson was transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as A-1 Towing took possession of the vehicle.
  • 3:53 a.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 in reference to a silver tractor trailer traveling North between Hardeeville and Ridgeland.
  • 4:56 a.m. – A welfare check was conducted at Heron Crossing Apartments at 163 Heron Crossing Drive after a 911 hang up call was received by Jasper County Emergency Services.  Responding Officers discovered an unconscious 21 year old male subject at the residence resulting in EMS responding for treatment.
  • 5:23 a.m. – A suspicious white male was reported outside of a residence on Second Avenue.
  • 6:29 a.m. – A suspicious vehicle fire was reported in the parking lot of the Quality Inn Motel at 221 James Taylor Drive after accelerant was discovered inside of a white Honda Accord which had erupted into flames.  Surveillance video revealed a black male suspect igniting the fire and then fleeing the area on foot running South towards East Main Street.  Evidence collected at the scene has been submitted to the SLED Forensics Laboratory for suspect identification and pending charges.
  • 8:11 a.m. – Joseph F. Oxendine was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center after approaching Officers in the parking lot of the Ridgeland Police Department at 11323 North Jacob Smart Boulevard while grossly intoxicated.
  • 10:10 a.m. – An escort was conducted at a residence on Honeycomb Place in the Bees Creek Plantation Community in reference to a recently evicted tenant gathering personal belongings.
  • 8:09 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 26 mile marker in reference to a white tractor trailer.
  • 9:54 p.m. – A Ford Transit van was stopped for speeding on I-95 North around the 23 mile marker where driver John Christopher Michaels Jr. was found to be operating under a suspended South Carolina driver’s license.  He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as J&M Towing took possession of the vehicle.
  • 10:29 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North around the 18 mile marker in reference to a red tractor trailer.

DECEMBER 21, 2016

  • 2:47 a.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 28 mile marker.
  • 5:44 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Exxon Station at 8310 East Main Street.
  • 6:07 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the New Hong Kong Restaurant at 8176 East Main Street.
  • 10:07 a.m. – A complaint was filed by a Seabrook resident in reference to several unauthorized charges appearing on his bank account on December 19th 2016.
  • 1:12 p.m. – A verbal dispute between a Father and son was reported in the parking lot of Schooners Bar & Grill at 10953 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.
  • 7:59 p.m. – A trespassing was reported at a residence on Shadetree Street in the Carters Mill Estates Community in reference to a Hispanic female causing problems with the homeowner.  The suspect left the area of her own accord prior to Law Enforcement arrival.
  • 8:44 p.m. – A complaint was filed in reference to a subject asking customers and passers by for money in the parking lot of the EZ Stop IV Station at 80 Blue Heron Drive.
  • 10:32 p.m. – A pedestrian on a bicycle was reported on the I-95 Southbound entrance ramp at the exit 18 interchange.
  • 10:40 p.m. – Two vehicles were reportedly racing on I-95 South around the 21 mile marker.

DECEMBER 20, 2016

  • 1:20 a.m. – A suspicious vehicle was reported in the parking lot of the Bobops Convenience Store at 8548 Grahamville Road in reference to an unoccupied blue 1997 Toyota Camry.  A check of the vehicle information by responding Officers showed it to be listed as stolen out of Beaufort SC.  It was ultimately removed from the area by Felver Towing of Beaufort at the request of the Beaufort Police Department.
  • 10:04 a.m. – A silver Hyundai Sonata was stopped for speeding on I-95 North around the 24 mile marker where driver Natassja Carlana Ebert was found to be in possession of a quantity of marijuana.  She was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as the vehicle was released to a licensed passenger.
  • 1:23 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North around the 12 mile marker in reference to a white Volvo tractor trailer.
  • 3:54 p.m. – An animal complaint was filed at Heron Crossing Apartments at 72 Heron Crossing Drive in reference to a stray dog wandering the property.
  • 5:41 p.m. – A 68 year old white male was struck by a green Mitsubishi in front of the Fiddler’s Seafood Restaurant at 7738 West Main Street.  The subject was transported by EMS to Savannah Memorial Hospital for treatment.
  • 9:36 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on Bailey Lane.
  • 9:46 p.m. – A harassment complaint was filed at a residence on Sailfish Circle in the Carters Mill Estates Community in reference to unwanted text messages received from an acquaintance of the complainant in Beaufort SC.
  • 11:00 p.m. – A noise complaint was filed at a residence on Floyd Street in reference to loud music coming from a neighboring home.

DECEMBER 19, 2016

  • 1:50 a.m. – Ridgeland Officers assisted Jasper County Deputies and Hardeeville Officers involved in a high speed vehicle pursuit of a gray Infiniti passenger car traveling North on I-95 following a report of a strong arm robbery of numerous electronics and high value items from the Wal Mart Store at 232 Nickel Plate Road in Hardeeville.  The pursuit was initiated on Highway 278 after Hardeeville Officers responding to the area spotted the suspect vehicle traveling West.  The suspect driver continued onto I-95 North at the exit 8 interchange traveling towards Ridgeland reaching speeds in excess of 130 mph while switching off the vehicle headlights in an attempt to evade pursuing Officers.  Ridgeland Officers deployed spike strips at the 18 mile marker disabling at least one of the suspect vehicle tires as it continued traveling North spraying a shower of sparks from the bare wheel.  The pursuit ultimately came to an end at the exit 22 interchange when the suspect driver lost control and left the roadway while attempting to exit the interstate striking a large group of trees.  Four black males immediately exited the vehicle and fled on foot in various directions as Officers converged on the area. Numerous pieces of physical evidence were collected from inside of the vehicle by Jasper County Detectives as it was removed from the area by A-1 Towing.

  • 8:04 a.m. – Ridgeland Officers traveled to the Beaufort County Detention Center at 100 Ribaut Road in Beaufort SC where inmate Sean Fredrick Olsen was turned over to their custody and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center in reference to an outstanding warrant issued against him by the Ridgeland Police Department.  Olsen’s charges stemmed from a July 14th 2016 report filed at the Gulf Station at 8250 East Main Street after a routine review of surveillance footage revealed him stealing a cigarette lighter from the front counter area on the afternoon of July 12th.
  • 10:13 a.m. – A suspicious white male pedestrian carrying several pieces of landscaping equipment was reported on Captain Bill Road walking East towards Bees Creek.
  • 10:23 a.m. – A black male subject was reported in the parking lot of the New Hong Kong Restaurant at 8176 East Main Street.
  • 10:33 a.m. – A theft was reported at the Piggly Wiggly Grocery Store at 10847 North Jacob Smart Boulevard after a black male was witnessed stealing store items and attempting to leave the business property.  Responding Officers ultimately placed Jimmy James Gregory under arrest for the incident and transported him to the Jasper County Detention Center.  His charge was enhanced from shoplifting to a felony property crime after a check of his criminal history revealed him to have more than 2 previous property crime convictions appearing on his record.  Further information showed him to be listed as a wanted person by the South Carolina Department of Probation & Parole stemming from a previous burglary conviction.
  • 3:17 p.m. – Jon Lamar Brantley, 55 of Ridgeland SC, was placed on trespass notice for a private residence on First Avenue at the property owner’s request.

  • 5:12 p.m. – A welfare check was conducted on an elderly white female wandering the parking lot of the Rite Aid Pharmacy at 8225 East Main Street.
  • 9:25 p.m. – A burglary was reported at a residence on First Avenue after the homeowner returned to find several damaged items inside of the home.

DECEMBER 18, 2016

  • 2:12 a.m. – A noise complaint was filed at a residence on South Jacob Smart Boulevard in reference to loud music coming from a neighboring home.
  • 2:21 a.m. – A welfare check was conducted in the I-95 exit 18 interchange area after a 911 hang up call was received by Jasper County Emergency Services regarding a possible shooting incident.
  • 4:40 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the McDonald’s Restaurant at 8548 Grahamville Road.
  • 6:24 a.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 18 mile marker in reference to a yellow Penske rental truck.
  • 7:28 a.m. – Ridgeland Officers assisted Jasper County Deputies in responding to a missing person report at a residence on Mitchellville Road after a 93 year old female with dementia left the home unescorted in an unknown direction.  She was located unharmed in less than 10 minutes by responding Officers on Apple Blossom Lane and returned home without incident.
  • 1:36 p.m. – Ridgeland Officers assisted Jasper County Deputies in conducting a welfare check at a residence on Henry Lawton Road after a 911 hang up call was received by Jasper County Emergency Services.
  • 3:33 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 in reference to a blue SUV towing a U-Haul trailer traveling North between Hardeeville and Ridgeland.
  • 4:38 p.m. – A child custody dispute was reported at a residence on Owens Street regarding clarification on holiday visitation dictated in a court order between the two parties involved.  The matter was forwarded to the Jasper County Family Court.
  • 5:28 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on Old House Road in reference to a burgundy Dodge Caravan.
  • 8:00 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on Bailey Lane.
  • 9:44 p.m. – A welfare check was conducted in several locations around the town limits after a 51 year old former male patient of the Palmetto Behavioral Health Center in North Charleston called the facility from the Ridgeland Burger King Restaurant at 8257 East Main Street stating that he may wish to do harm to himself.

DECEMBER 17, 2016

  • 11:04 a.m. – A suspicious white male was reported at Turpin Park at 901 North Logan Street.
  • 11:21 a.m. – A civil dispute between a customer and Management regarding a store return policy was reported at the Dollar General Store at 8123 East Main Street.
  • 1:11 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Ridgeland Baptist Church at 1448 Grays Highway.
  • 1:33 p.m. – A welfare check was conducted at the Plantation Inn Motel at 11433 North Jacob Smart Boulevard in reference to a 57 year old male tenant unable to answer his door because of a medical issue.  He was ultimately transported by EMS to Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeville for treatment.
  • 2:06 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North around the 14 mile marker in reference to a white Jeep Cherokee.
  • 2:39 p.m. – A blue tractor trailer was reportedly leaking diesel fuel onto the roadway while traveling North on I-95 between Hardeeville and Ridgeland.
  • 5:30 p.m. – A welfare check was conducted at a residence on East Main Street after an open line 911 call was received by Jasper County Emergency Services.
  • 6:20 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 21 mile marker in reference to a white Mitsubishi Mirage.
  • 7:59 p.m. – A Hispanic male armed with a knife reportedly assaulted a male complainant during a verbal dispute outside of a residence on East Main Street. The suspect left the area on foot walking East prior to Law Enforcement arrival.

DECEMBER 16, 2016

  • 1:03 a.m. – A black Honda Accord was involved in a single vehicle collision on I-95 South around the 20 mile marker after the driver lost control and struck the center median guard wires.  No injuries were reported.

  • 4:44 a.m. – An assault was reported by a 13 year old juvenile female after allegedly she was allegedly pushed to the ground and struck several times by another 13 year old female as they exited their school bus at the intersection of Carters Mill Road and Shadetree Street.
  • 7:56 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Ridgeland Boys & Girls Club at 913 Grays Highway.
  • 9:44 a.m. – A suspicious white male and white female were reported in the parking lot of the Ridgeland Correctional Institution at 5 Correctional Road.  A second call was received at 10:27 a.m. regarding the same couple.
  • 11:03 a.m. – A complaint was received by a Florida resident regarding several unauthorized transactions on their bank debit card in and around the town of Ridgeland.
  • 12:32 p.m. – A black Honda Civic and a red Dodge Ram pickup were involved in a collision in the parking lot of the Family Dollar Store at 73 South Green Street. No injuries were reported.
  • 6:35 p.m. – Patrol Officers discovered a power cord running from a Town of Ridgeland electrical outlet to the inside of a residence on East Main Street. Surveillance video is being reviewed for suspect identification and pending charges.
  • 8:55 p.m. – Ridgeland Officers assisted Jasper County Deputies in responding to a report of 2 black males in a blue Honda passenger car allegedly armed with handguns on Rice Shire Road.
  • 10:00 p.m. – A welfare check was conducted at Baytree Apartments at 107 First Avenue after several people were heard shouting in the parking lot.
  • 10:24 p.m. – Ridgeland Officers traveled to the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center at 201 John Mark Dial Drive in Columbia SC where inmate Richard Benjamin Scott was turned over to their custody and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center in reference to an outstanding warrant issued by the Ridgeland Police Department.  Scott’s charges stemmed from a February 29th 2012 traffic stop on I-95 North around the 20 mile marker where he was arrested and charged with speeding and driving under suspension.  He was later found guilty of the charges in Ridgeland Municipal Court on March 19th 2012 and placed on a time payment plan to settle the court ordered fines which he failed to comply with resulting in a warrant being issued for his arrest.
  • 11:12 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on Bailey Lane.

DECEMBER 15, 2016

  • 12:44 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the New Hong Kong Restaurant at 8176 East Main Street.
  • 7:58 a.m. – A Ford Explorer and a Chevy Impala were involved in a collision at the intersection of Tarboro and Malphrus Roads.  No injuries were reported.
  • 11:59 a.m. – A disturbance was reported at the Daniel Defense Manufacturing Facility at 58 Firefly Drive after a recently terminated employee began making threatening statements and gestures towards his former co-workers before leaving the business property.
  • 4:44 p.m. – Two males were reportedly arguing inside of the Jasper County Courthouse at 265 Russell Street.
  • 6:00 p.m. – A black Dodge Journey was involved in a single vehicle collision in the parking lot of the Piggly Wiggly Grocery Store at 10847 North Jacob Smart Boulevard after the driver struck a concrete barrier post.  No injuries were reported.

  • 7:29 p.m. – A property damage complaint was filed in the parking lot of the Dollar General Store at 8123 East Main Street after a 16 year old black male juvenile riding a red bicycle scraped the caller’s vehicle fender as he was riding by.  The juvenile refused to cooperate with responding Officers attempting to gather information after fleeing to the Harvey’s Grocery Store parking lot while being followed by the vehicle owner.
  • 8:18 p.m. – A suspicious silver Hyundai was reported on the property of the Ridgeland Correctional Institution at 5 Correctional Road.
  • 8:36 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 28 mile marker in reference to a tan Hyundai.
  • 9:53 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 33 mile marker in reference to a gray SUV.
  • 11:42 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 35 mile marker in reference to a brown tractor trailer with a hazmat container.  The same vehicle was reported a second time at 11:52 p.m. around the 21 mile marker.

DECEMBER 14, 2016

  • 3:35 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Carolina Lodge Motel at 8260 East Main Street.
  • 1:03 p.m. – An assault was reported on North Green Street after the complainant was allegedly threatened by a female in a passing vehicle.
  • 3:21 p.m. – A large black dog was reportedly walking in the roadway on I-95 South around the 20 mile marker.
  • 4:36 p.m. – A suspicious white male was reported on the property bordering the Ridgeland Correctional Institution at 5 Correctional Road.  The subject was picked up by a gray Chevy Impala traveling North on I-95.
  • 9:45 p.m. – A yellow and white Freightliner tractor trailer was reportedly parked in the roadway in front of the Rite Aid Pharmacy at 8225 East Main Street.

DECEMBER 13, 2016

  • 1:16 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on First Avenue.
  • 4:59 a.m. – A report was filed at Baytree Apartments at 107 First Avenue in reference to gunshots allegedly being fired from inside of a black vehicle in the parking lot.
  • 10:24 a.m. – Ridgeland Officers traveled to the Beaufort County Detention Center at 100 Ribaut Road in Beaufort SC where inmate Marquis Dejour Griffin was turned over to their custody and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center in reference to an outstanding warrant issued by the Ridgeland Police Department.  Griffin’s charges stemmed from a January 6th 2016 incident at the Gulf Station at 8250 East Main Street where he was captured on surveillance video stealing store items resulting in a warrant being issued.  He was later arrested on unrelated charges in Beaufort County and turned over to Ridgeland Officers on February 17th for transport back to Jasper County.  He then failed to appear in Ridgeland Municipal Court on March 28th to answer to the charges where he was found guilty during a trial in absence and a second warrant was issued for his arrest.
  • 10:49 a.m. – A logging truck was reportedly partially blocking a lane of travel at the intersection of South Jacob Smart Boulevard and East Adams Street.
  • 11:53 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on Colony Drive in the Bees Creek Plantation Community.
  • 4:01 p.m. – A property damage complaint was filed by a motorist on Old House Road after their vehicle was allegedly struck by a falling tree limb.
  • 4:25 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North around the 20 mile marker.  No vehicle description was provided.
  • 4:38 p.m. – A welfare check was conducted at the Carolina Lodge Motel at 8260 East Main Street after a female tenant requested medical assistance stemming from narcotics dependency.  Responding Officers transported the subject to Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeville for analysis and treatment.
  • 6:39 p.m. – A suspicious black male was reported in the parking lot of the All Print Custom Tee Shop at 8120 East Main Street.
  • 7:10 p.m. – A suspicious white male was reported outside of the Fiddlers Seafood Restaurant at 7738 West Main Street.

  • 12:51 a.m. – Two suspicious persons were reported in a wooded area bordering the Ridgeland Correctional Institution at 5 Correctional Road.
  • 3:58 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the McDonald’s Restaurant at 8548 Grahamville Road.
  • 4:07 a.m. – A red Ford Ranger was involved in a single vehicle collision at the intersection of Bees Creek and Fordville Road after the driver lost control and struck a roadside drainage ditch.  No injuries were reported.
  • 8:41 a.m. – A reckless driver was reported on Old House Road in reference to a tan Honda van traveling South from Highway 462.
  • 9:36 a.m. – Ridgeland Officers traveled to the Beaufort County Detention Center at 100 Ribaut Road in Beaufort SC where inmate Rodrick Anton Boles was turned over to their custody and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center in reference to an outstanding warrant issued against him by the Ridgeland Police Department.  Boles’ charges stemmed from a February 1st 2016 traffic stop at the intersection of Captain Bill and Fordville Road where he was arrested and charged with insurance, tag and driver’s license violations.  He was later found guilty of the charges in Ridgeland Municipal Court on March 7th and placed on a time payment plan to settle the court ordered fines which he failed to comply with resulting in a warrant being issued for his arrest.
  • 12:35 p.m. – A Toyota Avalon and a Chevy Cobalt were involved in a collision at the intersection of Grays Highway and Live Oak Road.  One occupant was transported by EMS to Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeville for treatment.
  • 1:09 p.m. – A black Hyundai Elantra was stopped for speeding on I-95 South around the 19 mile marker where driver Anthony Shawn Bush was found to be operating under a suspended New Jersey driver’s license.  He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as the vehicle was left in the care of a passenger.
  • 5:12 p.m. – Ridgeland Officers traveled to the Jasper County Detention Center at 12008 North Jacob Smart Boulevard in service of outstanding warrants against inmate Kyle Sheldon Lord who is currently being held under numerous felony charges issued by the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office including kidnapping, grand larceny, assault, attempted murder, failure to stop for blue lights and burglary. Lord’s charges with the Ridgeland Police Department stemmed from an August 27th 2015 reckless driving traffic stop in the parking lot of Devonwood Apartments at 137 Captain Bill Road where he was arrested and charged with driver’s license and equipment violations.  He then failed to appear in Ridgeland Municipal Court to answer to the charges on September 21st 2015 where he was found guilty during a trial in absence and warrants were issued for his arrest.
  • 5:21 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Gretsch Manufacturing Facility at 248 Grays Highway.
  • 8:03 p.m. – Three suspicious black males were reported at the Sunoco Station at 11965 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.  Two were last seen walking South on Frontage Road as the third walked North on Jacob Smart Boulevard.
  • 8:38 p.m. – A vehicle theft was reported at the McDonald’s Restaurant at 8548 Grahamville Road after a black male subject stole a dark blue 2008 Honda Civic left running in the parking lot.  Surveillance video is being reviewed for suspect identification and pending charges.
  • 9:50 p.m. – A welfare check was conducted at the Travelodge Motel at 8216 East Main Street after an open line 911 call was received by Jasper County Emergency Services.
  • 11:04 p.m. – Several gunshots were reportedly fired in the Fordville Road area.
  • 11:18 p.m. – A burglary was reported at a residence at Ridge Point Apartments at 669 North Green Street after two unidentified males, one armed with a shotgun, forced their way inside of the home where they then struck the two Hispanic male occupants several times demanding money before ultimately fleeing the area in an unknown direction following the assault.  One of the male victims was transported by EMS to Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeville for treatment to injuries suffered in the attack.

DECEMBER 11, 2016

  • 2:30 a.m. – A verbal domestic dispute between a male and a female was reported at Ridge Point Apartments at 669 North Green Street.
  • 3:42 a.m. – Ridgeland Officers assisted Jasper County Deputies in responding to a report of a male patron causing a disturbance at Club Pluto at 8812 South Jacob Smart Boulevard and refusing to leave the business property when ordered.  Marcus Denzel Bryant, 23 of Estill SC, was ultimately placed under arrest by Sheriff’s Deputies and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center under a charge of trespassing after notice.

  • 7:18 a.m. – A red Chevy Cruze was stopped for speeding on I-95 South around the 17 mile marker where driver Kenneth Antean Jenkins was found to be operating under a suspended South Carolina driver’s license stemming from several failure to pay traffic ticket violations.  He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as the vehicle was released to a licensed passenger.
  • 12:18 p.m. – An attempted theft was reported at a residence on Promise Way after the homeowner caught three black males attempting to steal bicycles from his property.  The suspects fled the area on foot prior to Law Enforcement arrival.
  • 1:23 p.m. – A black Ford Taurus and a gray Dodge Charger were involved in a collision in the parking lot of the KFC Restaurant at 8146 East Main Street.  No injuries were reported.
  • 1:46 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 33 mile marker in reference to a black Honda Accord.
  • 5:24 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on Bees Creek Road near the Sweet William intersection in reference to a white Lexus.
  • 7:44 p.m. – A property damage complaint was filed at a residence on Oakridge North in the Oakridge Trailer Park Community after a verbal domestic dispute between a male and an allegedly intoxicated female ended with some of the male’s personal items being broken.  The female left the area prior to Law Enforcement arrival; however, the complainant declined pursuing charges in the matter.
  • 8:34 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 28 mile marker in reference to a white Infiniti.

DECEMBER 10, 2016

  • 12:17 a.m. – A suspicious vehicle was reported in the parking lot of Heron Crossing Apartments at 72 Heron Crossing Drive.
  • 12:44 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on East Woodlawn Street.
  • 12:59 a.m. – A suspicious vehicle was reported in the parking lot of the Outpost Clothing Store at 10545 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.
  • 9:26 a.m. – A property damage report was filed at a residence on Grahamville Road after a black male suspect threw a stone through a window and then fled the area.  While responding Officers were gathering information the suspect returned driving a black Ford Mustang at which time he immediately accelerated in an aggressive manner upon seeing Law Enforcement in the area.  After nearly causing a collision in front of the McDonald’s Restaurant the suspect continued to the exit 21 interchange where he merged onto I-95 South reaching speeds in excess of 100 mph as he attempted to evade pursuing Officers.  He then turned off of the interstate at the exit 18 interchange merging back onto the Northbound lanes of I-95 until reaching the 22 mile marker where he exited and entered onto the Ridgeland Correctional Institution property at 5 Correctional Road as backup Officers converged on the area.  The suspect then u-turned where he steered towards one of the pursuing patrol vehicles causing the Officer to perform an evasive maneuver in order to avoid a collision.  The suspect then exited the prison property onto East Frontage Road where he ultimately pulled over to the side of the roadway and surrendered without further incident.  Lewis Beaton IV was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as J&M Towing took possession of the vehicle.  An inventory of his belongings prior to towing revealed a quantity of marijuana resulting in an additional charge.
  • 9:42 a.m. – A suspicious vehicle was reported on I-95 South around the 22 mile marker.
  • 10:00 a.m. – An animal complaint was reported at the McDonald’s Restaurant at 8548 Grahamville Road in reference to a stray kitten in the parking lot.
  • 10:41 a.m. – A black Chevy Camaro and a gray Toyota were involved in a collision in the parking lot of the McDonald’s Restaurant at 8548 Grahamville Road.  No injuries were reported.
  • 11:35 a.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 22 mile marker in reference to a U-Haul truck.
  • 6:11 p.m. – A welfare check was conducted at a residence at Baytree Apartments at 107 First Avenue regarding several children possibly being left inside of the home without supervision.
  • 9:13 p.m. – A white Ford F150 pickup was involved in a single vehicle collision after striking a tree in front of the KFC Restaurant at 8146 East Main Street.  The driver then turned onto the East Adams Street connection ultimately stopping behind the New Hong Kong Restaurant at 8176 East Main Street where responding Officers found her to be under the influence of alcohol.  Driver Angela Nicole Gentry, 39 of Midville GA, was transported by EMS to Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeville for treatment.

  • 10:43 p.m. – A suspicious male was reportedly walking in the middle of the roadway while wearing all black clothing at the intersection of West Main Street and Great Swamp Road.

DECEMBER 9, 2016

  • 3:57 a.m. – A civil dispute between Management and a tenant was reported at the Carolina Lodge Motel at 8260 East Main Street.
  • 6:06 a.m. – A suspicious vehicle was reported on I-95 in reference to a possible match to a December 8th Amber Alert issued by Evans Georgia Authorities in regarding a tan Ford Crown Victoria bearing SC tag number KVJ-240 traveling North between the South Carolina Welcome Center in Hardeeville and the Ridgeland town limits.
  • 7:10 a.m. – A trespassing complaint was filed at the Gulf Station at 8250 East Main Street after a black male, who had been loitering inside of the business for nearly 2 hours, refused to leave when ordered by the on duty cashier.  He ultimately left of his own accord when responding Officers arrived on scene but later returned to the property at 10:35 a.m. resulting in a second Law Enforcement response as he again refused to leave.  Marcus Denzel Bryant, 23 of Estill SC, was then placed on trespass notice for the Gulf station as well as the Exxon station located next door at Management’s request and ordered off of the property.  At 11:34 a.m. Officers were dispatched to the Burger King Restaurant at 8257 East Main Street in reference to the same subject loitering inside of the business and seating himself at various tables with customers who didn’t know him.  He was then escorted off of the property by responding Officers at Management’s request.

  • 7:20 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Ridgeland Boys & Girls Club at 913 Grays Highway.
  • 9:40 a.m. – A white Chevy Suburban on Third Avenue was struck by a gray Jeep Grand Cherokee which then fled the area traveling East on Grays Highway.  No injuries were reported.
  • 10:00 a.m. – A Volvo tractor trailer and a white Chevy van were involved in a collision in front of the Piggly Wiggly Grocery Store at 10847 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.  No injuries were reported.
  • 10:22 a.m. – A suspicious vehicle was reported on West Frontage Road in reference to an older model sedan.
  • 4:27 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 24 mile marker in reference to a dark colored Toyota Tundra pickup towing a small enclosed U-Haul trailer.
  • 4:46 p.m. – A verbal domestic dispute between a Mother and Daughter inside of a vehicle was reported in the parking lot of the Piggly Wiggly Grocery Store at 10847 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.
  • 5:03 p.m. – Two black males were reportedly fighting on the side of the roadway on I-95 North around the 22 mile marker outside of a dark colored vehicle.  The subjects left the area prior to Law Enforcement arrival.
  • 5:33 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 33 mile marker in reference to a white Dodge Ram pickup.
  • 5:42 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on First Avenue.
  • 11:55 p.m. – A suspicious vehicle was reported in the parking lot of Heron Crossing Apartments at 72 Heron Crossing Drive in reference to a black pickup.

DECEMBER 8, 2016

  • 1:47 a.m. – A suspicious vehicle was reported in the parking lot of the Wendy’s Restaurant at 8480 Grahamville Road.
  • 2:06 a.m. – Ridgeland Officers assisted Jasper County Deputies in responding to a domestic dispute between a male and a female at a residence on Rosa Lee Wright Lane.  Both the suspect and alleged victim were found to be uncooperative with responding Officers.
  • 7:54 a.m. – A black Nissan Xterra was stopped for a suspended South Carolina tag violation at the intersection of Smiths Crossing and Highway 17 North where driver Jalise Vernice Winston, 26 of Ridgeland SC, was found to be operating under a suspended South Carolina driver’s license as well as having no valid insurance coverage on the vehicle.  She was cited for the offenses and assigned a court date as Blatchley’s Towing took possession of the vehicle.
  • 4:08 p.m. – A gray Dodge Dakota pickup and a burgundy Ford Taurus were involved in a collision at the intersection of Highway 278 and Weathersbee Street.  No injuries were reported.
  • 6:03 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Jasper County Courthouse at 265 Russell Street.
  • 7:07 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 28 mile marker in reference to a red Nissan Rogue.
  • 7:55 p.m. – A theft was reported at the Short Stop BP Station at 10728 South Jacob Smart Boulevard after a customer accidentally left a wallet lying on the front counter after making a purchase at 4:36 p.m.  Surveillance video is being reviewed for suspect identification and pending charges.
  • 8:33 p.m. – A gray Nissan Altima was stopped for speeding on I-95 North around the 20 mile marker where driver Dicran Carrillo was found to be operating without a driver’s license.  He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as the vehicle was released to a licensed passenger.

DECEMBER 7, 2016

  • 12:36 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on Dolphin Drive in the Carters Mill Estates Community.
  • 1:16 a.m. – A suspicious person was reported outside of a residence on Malphrus Street.
  • 5:42 p.m. – A blue Kia Sedona was struck by an unknown vehicle which then fled the area on East Frontage Road.  No injuries were reported.
  • 6:32 p.m. – A white Honda Pilot and a white Kenworth tractor trailer were involved in a collision at the intersection of Highway 278 and Log Hall Road.  Two persons were transported by EMS to Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeville for treatment.

  • 7:55 p.m. – A report of gunshots being fired was filed in reference to a wooded area on East Adams Street bordering the Logan Lane Apartment complex.
  • 8:21 p.m. – A theft was reported at the Pizza Bella Restaurant at 8196 East Main Street after a white male and white female left the business property without paying.  Surveillance video is being reviewed for suspect identification and pending charges.
  • 9:51 p.m. – Two black males were reportedly engaged in a verbal dispute in the parking lot area of the Travelodge Motel at 8216 East Main Street.  Both parties separated and left the business property prior to Law Enforcement arrival.
  • 11:09 p.m. – A suspicious person was reported in the parking lot area of the Plantation Inn Motel at 11433 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.

DECEMBER 6, 2016

  • 12:40 a.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 33 mile marker in reference to a white tractor trailer.
  • 6:19 a.m. – A suspicious male was reported at the intersection of South Jacob Smart Boulevard and Augusta Avenue.
  • 6:47 a.m. – Angel Lynn Rose turned herself in to Officers at the Ridgeland Police Department at 11323 North Jacob Smart Boulevard where she was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center in reference to outstanding warrants issued against her. Rose’s charges stemmed from a November 28th 2016 theft report filed at a residence on North Green Street after a debit card was stolen out of the complainant’s mailbox and used to make several withdrawals and purchases in the town limits on November 25th. Surveillance video gathered from various locations showed Rose as being the person responsible for the offenses resulting in 10 warrants being issued against her, one for each incident.
  • 8:40 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Jasper County Magistrate’s Office at 967 West Adams Street.
  • 10:02 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Jasper’s Porch Restaurant at 153 James Taylor Drive.
  • 10:19 p.m. – A silver Hyundai was reportedly driving through the front yard of a  a residence on Lydia’s Lane.

DECEMBER 5, 2016

  • 12:22 a.m. – Ridgeland Officers assisted Jasper County Deputies in responding to an activated alarm at the Thomas Heyward Academy at 1727 Malphrus Road.
  • 3:14 a.m. – A tractor trailer struck a SCE&G utility pole at the intersection of Highway 336 and Great Swamp Road causing a loss of power in the area for a short time.  No injuries were reported.
  • 6:03 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the All Print Custom Tee Shop at 8120 East Main Street.
  • 10:15 a.m. – A set of keys was reported missing from a residence at Logan Lane Apartments at 544 South Logan Street after being left unattended outside of the home between 4 a.m. and 7 a.m.
  • 3:57 p.m. – A welfare check was conducted at the Ridgeland Coin Laundry at 10424 South Jacob Smart Boulevard after an open line 911 call was received by Jasper County Emergency Services.
  • 6:31 p.m. – A trash can was reported missing from outside of a residence on Newlin Drive.
  • 7:36 p.m. – A theft was reported at the Dollar General Store at 8123 East Main Street after a black female was witnessed concealing store items and leaving without paying for them.  She was confronted by employees in the parking lot where she became argumentative but ultimately returned the stolen items before leaving the area in a blue Chevy Trailblazer prior to Law Enforcement arrival. Surveillance video is being reviewed for suspect identification.

DECEMBER 4, 2016

  • 6:26 a.m. – A white Chevy Silverado pickup was tracked at 92 mph in a 70 mph speed zone on I-95 South around the 18 marker at which time the driver continued to accelerate in an aggressive manner upon seeing Law Enforcement approaching in order to conduct a traffic stop.  The vehicle ultimately came to a stop around the 13 mile marker but sped away again as the responding Officer exited his patrol vehicle initiating a pursuit which continued South in excess of 100 mph.  The suspect then exited the interstate at the exit 8 interchange in Hardeeville as other Officers arrived in the area to assist turning East continuing to accelerate and crossing into the oncoming lanes of travel.  The pursuit ultimately came to a close at the Brickyard Road intersection East of John Smith Road where driver Jamie Kenneth Green was found to be operating under the influence of alcohol as well as under a suspended South Carolina driver’s license.  He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as Hook Ups Towing took possession of the vehicle.
  • 8:40 a.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 27 mile marker in reference to a red tractor trailer.
  • 9:05 a.m. – A moped was found abandoned in a wooded area connecting East Adams Street to the Logan Lane Apartment complex.  The vehicle is believed to have been taken from an enclosed porch area of a recently vacated residence on December 1st.
  • 9:43 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on First Avenue.
  • 9:52 a.m. – An animal complaint was filed in reference to an injured blue heron behind a residence on Old House Road.
  • 2:57 p.m. – A suspicious black male was reported on the business property of the John Deere Show Turf building at 9454 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.
  • 4:10 p.m. – Two 4 wheeler ATV’s were reportedly racing one another on Smiths Crossing between Wise and South Logan Streets.
  • 4:18 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 33 mile marker in reference to a white tractor trailer.
  • 6:14 p.m. – A Hispanic male reportedly entered a private residence on Smiths Crossing without permission before fleeing the area on foot running East when confronted by the homeowner.  Responding Officers spotted Cesar Garcia-Servin running in the middle of the roadway around the South Logan Street intersection where he was found to be highly intoxicated.  He was placed under arrest without further incident and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.
  • 9:07 p.m. – Two suspicious white males were reported in the parking lot area of the Exxon Station at 8310 East Main Street.
  • 10:28 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Bobops Convenience Store at 8548 Grahamville Road.

DECEMBER 3, 2016

  • 12:15 a.m. – A larceny was reported at the Waffle House Restaurant at 8185 East Main Street after three white male customers left the business property without paying.  Surveillance video is being reviewed for suspect identification and pending charges.
  • 3:46 a.m. – Ridgeland Officers assisted Hardeeville Officers and Jasper County Deputies during a high speed pursuit of a burgundy Lincoln MKX reported stolen out of Chatham County GA after the driver fled from a traffic stop initiated by Hardeeville Officers on Whyte Hardee Boulevard.  The pursuit traveled North on Highway 17 to the I-95 interchange by the Jasper County Detention Center at which point the suspect vehicle merged on I-95 South where the driver lost control and left the roadway disabling the vehicle.  Four black males then immediately exited, two of which were armed with handguns, and fled on foot across I-95 North and into a wooded area bordering the Ridgeland Correctional Institution.  A search of the vehicle prior to towing revealed a large quantity of narcotics as well as two additional handguns, one of which was listed as stolen. 
  • 5:54 a.m. – A reckless driver was reported on Grahamville Road in reference to a gray Oldsmobile.
  • 7:54 a.m. – Lewis Beaton IV, 22 of Ridgeland SC, was placed on trespass notice for the business property of the Bobops Convenience Store at 8548 Grahamville Road at Management’s request following a previously unreported incident where he began shouting and swearing at employees.
  • 9:10 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Ridgeland Baptist Church at 1448 Grays Highway.
  • 2:31 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 22 mile marker in reference to a red Chevy pickup.
  • 2:39 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 in reference to a white tractor trailer traveling North between Hardeeville and Ridgeland.
  • 3:19 p.m. – Ridgeland Officers transported a 51 year old white male from his room at the Carolina Lodge Motel at 8260 East Main Street to Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeville for evaluation after making statements that he may wish to do harm to himself.  He was later transported at 6:16 p.m. to the Palmetto Behavioral Health Center in North Charleston.
  • 9:29 p.m. – A noise complaint was filed at Baytree Apartments at 107 First Avenue in reference to a group of subjects standing around in the parking lot area.

DECEMBER 2, 2016

  • 4:28 a.m. – A report of gunshots being fired was filed in the Mitchellville Community.
  • 5:36 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Rite Aid Pharmacy at 8225 East Main Street.
  • 6:24 a.m. – Ridgeland Officers assisted Jasper County Deputies responding to an activated alarm at a residence on Bee Creek Road after an open door was discovered.
  • 7:21 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Ridgeland Boys & Girls Club at 913 Grays Highway.
  • 8:44 a.m. – Sara Nicole Deason was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center in reference to an outstanding warrant issued by the Ridgeland Police Department after Patrol Officers spotted her at the intersection of East Main and South Logan Streets.  Deason’s charges stemmed from a November 26th 2016 report filed at a residence on North Green Street after several fraudulent charges appeared on the complainant’s bank statement. A review of local surveillance video revealed Deason, along with co-defendant Melissa Marie Deloach who was arrested on December 1st, as being the parties responsible for the theft.
  • 12:30 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 27 mile marker in reference to a silver Ford Explorer.
  • 2:06 p.m. – Ridgeland Officers traveled to the Sheriff Al Cannon Detention Center at 3841 Leeds Avenue in North Charleston where inmate Taleshia Marvae Penciel was turned over to their custody and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center in reference to an outstanding warrant issued by the Ridgeland Police Department.  Penciel’s charge stemmed from a March 27th 2016 traffic stop on I-95 South around the 21 mile marker where she was cited and assigned a court date after being found in possession of a quantity of marijuana.  She then failed to appear in Ridgeland Municipal Court to answer to the charge on April 11th 2016 where she was found guilty during a trial in absence and a warrant was issued for her arrest.
  • 3:00 p.m. – A welfare check was conducted at a residence on Oakridge South in the Oakridge Trailer Park Community on North Green Street after an open line 911 call was received by Jasper County Emergency Services.
  • 3:32 p.m. – A disturbance was reported at the Dollar General Store at 8123 East Main Street in reference to a verbal dispute between a female customer and Management.
  • 5:16 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Ridgeland Family Dentistry Office at 10832 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.
  • 6:21 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 30 mile marker in reference to a white tractor trailer.
  • 8:40 p.m. – A blue Chevy Impala was stopped for speeding at the intersection of Tillman and Tarboro Roads where driver Everett Bernard Bostick Jr., 27 of Ridgeland SC, was found to be in possession of a quantity of marijuana.  He was cited for the offenses and assigned a court date prior to leaving the area.
  • 10:51 p.m. – A white Nissan Murano was involved in a single vehicle collision after striking a deer in the roadway on Grays Highway at the entrance to the Ridgeland High School.  No injuries were reported.
  • 11:10 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on Highway 17 in reference to a vehicle traveling North between Hardeeville and Ridgeland.
  • 11:57 p.m. – A suspicious black male was reported at the Carolina Lodge Motel at 8260 East Main Street.

DECEMBER 1, 2016

  • 1:34 a.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North around the 21 mile marker in reference to a white tractor trailer.
  • 9:43 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on Eleanor Avenue.
  • 10:44 a.m. – An animal complaint was filed in the Carters Mill Estates Community in reference to a black dog wandering the area after having gotten loose from a chain on Sailfish Circle.
  • 12:00 p.m. – Patrol Officers acting on a tip responded to the Carolina Lodge Motel at 8260 East Main Street in reference to Michael Thomas Byrd, who is listed as a wanted person by multiple agencies, possibly being inside of a rented room.  Upon arrival the suspect was spotted attempting to hide underneath a bed at which point he was placed under arrest without further incident.  While inside of the room Officers observed in plain view numerous syringes, pipes and other drug paraphernalia as well as residue of illegal narcotics in various places resulting in the arrest of the other occupant Melissa Marie Deloach who was already listed as wanted by the Ridgeland Police Department in reference to an outstanding warrant.  Both subjects were transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as as Investigators obtained a search warrant for the room where they ultimately seized a quantity of Dilaudid and crack cocaine resulting in additional charges for both.  Michael Byrd’s original charges stemmed from a November 29th 2016 theft at a residence on First Avenue where he was captured on surveillance video stealing a chainsaw and an edger.  He is also listed as a wanted person by the South Carolina Department of Probation & Parole in reference to a previous forgery conviction as well as the Chatham County GA Sheriff’s Office in reference to an outstanding Larceny charge. Melissa Deloach’s original charges stemmed from a November 26th 2016 report filed at a residence on North Green Street after several fraudulent charges appeared on the complainant’s bank statement.  A review of local surveillance video revealed Deloach, along with co-defendant Sara Nicole Deason, as being the parties responsible for the theft.  Deason, 27 of Ridgeland, remains outstanding.

  • 12:42 p.m. – An animal complaint was filed on East Adams Street in reference to a stray pit bull roaming the area.
  • 2:14 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Kingdom Touch Ministries Church at 6714 Tillman Road.
  • 3:57 p.m. – A suspicious vehicle was reported in the parking lot of the Classic Cleaners Office at 8225 East Main Street.
  • 5:59 p.m. – A white male carrying a baseball bat was reportedly chasing a dark colored Chevy Camaro in the parking lot of the KFC Restaurant at 8146 East Main Street.  The vehicle and the male both left the business property prior to Law Enforcement arrival.
  • 6:57 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Ridgeland Baptist Church at 1448 Grays Highway.
  • 7:08 p.m. – A suspicious incident was reported at a vacant residence on East Adams Street after the property owner discovered several items owned by the previous tenant to be missing from the enclosed porch area.
  • 7:42 p.m. – A verbal domestic dispute between a male and a female was reported at the Plantation Inn Motel at 11433 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.
  • 8:20 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 28 mile marker in reference to a white tractor trailer.
  • 9:45 p.m. – A possible burglary in progress was reported at a residence on Shadetree Street in the Carters Mill Estates Community after the complainant returned home with her two teenage children to find a white male standing nude in their kitchen having entered through an unlocked front door. Responding Officers placed Michael Dwayne Robiston Jr. under arrest and transported him to the Jasper County Detention Center.  No items were reported missing or stolen.
  • 11:05 p.m. – A report of gunshots being fired was filed at Logan Lane Apartments at 544 South Logan Street.
