DAILY CRIME REPORTS – November, 2016

THE FOLLOWING INCIDENTS ARE AN ACCOUNT OF CALLS AND CASES RESPONDED TO BY OFFICERS OF THE RIDGELAND POLICE DEPARTMENT. THESE CASES ARE CLOSED OR CURRENTLY UNDER INVESTIGATION. NOVEMBER 30, 2016

  • 12:02 a.m. – A strong arm robbery was reported on Sailfish Circle in the Carters Mill Estates Community after a 21 year old Hispanic female was assaulted by a black male driving a dark colored passenger car.  The suspect blocked the victim’s path with his vehicle as she was walking on Wood Duck Street at which time she turned and fled the area on foot.  He ultimately caught up again blocking her path before exiting the vehicle and striking her in the face while grabbing her purse away from her.  He then fled the area heading South on Sisters Ferry Road leaving his victim on the ground.  She was transported by EMS to Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeville for treatment to injuries sustained in the attack.
  • 12:25 a.m. – A suspicious person was reported at a residence on Grays Highway in reference to someone knocking on the complainant’s door refusing to identify themselves.
  • 6:03 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Rite Aid Pharmacy at 8225 East Main Street.
  • 9:04 a.m. – A reckless driver was reported on Highway 17 in reference to a black passenger car displaying a blue dealer tag traveling North between Hardeeville and Ridgeland.
  • 9:22 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the John Deere Show Turf Store at 9454 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.
  • 12:06 p.m. – A complaint was filed at the Travelodge Motel at 8216 East Main Street after a syringe was discovered inside of a recently vacated room.
  • 12:20 p.m. – A gray Ford Explorer was stopped for a suspended Nevada tag violation on I-95 North around the 21 mile marker where passenger Tenasha Brown was found to be in possession of several individual packages of marijuana as well as being listed as a wanted person by the Hanahan SC Police Department in reference to an outstanding warrant for solicitation without a license.  She was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as the vehicle driver was cited for the tag offense prior to leaving the area.
  • 1:48 p.m. – A complaint was filed at a residence on West Smith Street in reference to a male riding a bicycle having sustained a small wound to his leg after allegedly being bitten by a dog outside of the home. 
  • 4:29 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 30 mile marker in reference to a gray Toyota Camry.
  • 4:43 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North around the 24 mile marker in reference to a gray Toyota Camry with front end damage.
  • 4:53 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 south around the 24 mile marker in reference to a gray Toyota Camry.  The vehicle was ultimately stopped by SC Highway Patrol at the 19 mile marker.
  • 5:04 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the John Deere Show Turf Store at 9454 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.
  • 7:54 p.m. – A disturbance was reported at the McDonald’s Restaurant at 8548 Grahamville Road after a white male customer refused to move his vehicle from the drive thru lane while arguing with employees.  He ultimately left the business property of his own accord prior to Law Enforcement arrival.
  • 9:11 p.m. – A verbal dispute between two male tenants was reported at the Siesta Motel at 10530 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.

NOVEMBER 29, 2016

  • 3:16 a.m. – A black male and two black females were reportedly seen entering a residence on East Main Street through an open window.  Responding Officers found no evidence of any such event.
  • 4:32 a.m. – A welfare check was conducted at a residence on East Main Street after the homeowner heard suspicious noises coming from inside of the home.
  • 6:31 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the John Deere Show Turf Store at 9454 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.
  • 9:28 a.m. – A fallen tree partially blocked a lane of travel on I-95 North around the 23 mile marker until removed by SCDOT workers.
  • 10:46 a.m. – A downed power line at the corner of East Smith Street and North Jacob Smart Boulevard caused a loss of electric power in a large portion of the Ridgeland town limits for approximately one hour.
  • 11:28 a.m. – RPD assisted Ridgeland Fire Department with traffic control as they worked to extinguish a brush fire on Ellis Hodges Road at the Coopers Hawk intersection.
  • 11:46 a.m. – A welfare check was conducted on a black female at the corner of North Jacob Smart Boulevard and Captain Bill Road.
  • 12:10 p.m. – A white Ford E250 van was involved in a single vehicle collision on Highway 462 near the Golda Drive intersection after the driver lost control and overturned the vehicle.  The 61 year old male driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

  • 4:52 p.m. – A property damage report was filed at the Jasper County Detention Center after a male inmate intentionally caused damage to a fire sprinkler head inside of his cell.
  • 6:26 p.m. – A welfare check was conducted on a black male sitting on the I-95 overpass on Captain Bill Road.
  • 7:13 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on Highway 462 at the Old House Road intersection in reference to a red Chevy Camaro.
  • 8:01 p.m. – A welfare check was conducted on a black female with four children at the intersection of North Green Street and Third Avenue.
  • 8:28 p.m. – A white Mercedes Sprinter van was stopped for speeding on I-95 North at the exit 22 interchange where driver Petr Litvinko provided the Officer with a fictitious name and date of birth in an effort to conceal his identity at which point he was placed under arrest.  A check of his information showed him to be operating under a suspended Pennsylvania driver’s license resulting in an additional charge.  He was transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as Scott’s Automotive took possession of the vehicle.
  • 8:43 p.m. – Three armed black males conducted a robbery in the front office of the Economy Inn Motel at 518 Frontage Road in Hardeeville firing off gunshots over the clerk’s head as they demanded money before fleeing the area traveling North on I-95 in a white Honda CRV.  An off duty Ridgeland Officer soon after spotted the vehicle traveling West on Tillman Road ultimately turning onto Wagon Branch Loop.  Responding Sheriff’s Deputies located the suspects following reports of them hiding behind a home on Dogwood Street where two fled the area on foot but were quickly located inside of a home at 62 Holly Street.  Dondre Leonard Fields, 26 of Ridgeland, and Darius Marquis Hamilton, 21 of Hardeeville, were both turned over to the custody of responding Hardeeville Investigators and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center under charges of armed robbery.

  • 8:53 p.m. – A theft was reported at a residence on First Avenue after the homeowner discovered a chainsaw and an edger to be missing from his porch. Surveillance video is being reviewed for suspect identification and pending charges.
  • 8:55 p.m. – A disturbance was reported at the Econo Lodge Motel at 511 James Taylor Drive in reference to a civil dispute between Management and a female tenant.
  • 9:08 p.m. – A white Volvo sedan was involved in a single vehicle collision at the intersection of South Jacob Smart Boulevard and Augusta Avenue.  No injuries were reported.
  • 9:33 p.m. – Patrol Officers spotted Troy O’Neil Esaw at Baytree Apartments at 107 First Avenue where he was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center in reference to an outstanding warrant issued against him by the Ridgeland Police Department.  Esaw’s charges stemmed from a February 10th 2016 domestic dispute in the parking lot of the Sunoco Station at 11965 North Jacob Smart Boulevard where he struck the Mother of his child in the face during an argument before leaving the area in a white Ford Expedition prior to Law Enforcement arrival.
  • 10:16 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 34 mile marker in reference to a brown tractor trailer.
  • 10:19 p.m. – A welfare check was conducted on a black female with four children at the Blue Heron Nature Trail.
  • 10:36 p.m. – A suspicious white male was reported on Captain Bill Road near the Bees Creek intersection.

NOVEMBER 28, 2016

  • 2:03 a.m. – Ridgeland Officers assisted Jasper County Deputies in responding to a home on Mitchellville Road after numerous gunshots were fired into the residence from the roadway.  No injuries were reported.
  • 7:05 a.m. – Several personal items were found discarded on the property of the Jasper Animal Rescue Mission at 1352 Carters Mill Road.
  • 11:27 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on Augusta Avenue.
  • 12:03 p.m. – Dervon Jaceif Jones was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center in reference to an outstanding warrant after Patrol Officers spotted him entering the Pizza Bella Restaurant at 8196 East Main Street.  Jones’ charges stemmed from an October 13th 2015 traffic stop on Highway 17 North at the I-95 exit 18 interchange where he was arrested and charged with driver’s license and insurance violations as well as several outstanding warrants.  He then failed to appear in Ridgeland Municipal Court to answer to the charges on November 16th 2015 where he was found guilty during a trial in absence and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
  • 2:51 p.m. – A silver Pontiac G6 was struck by an unknown vehicle which then fled the area at the intersection of Highway 17 and Nuna Rock Road.  No injuries were reported.
  • 3:32 p.m. – A silver Infiniti Qx4 was involved in a single vehicle collision on I-95 North around the 22 mile marker after the driver lost control and struck the center median guard wires.  No injuries were reported.

  • 4:17 p.m. – A theft was reported at a residence on North Green Street after the complainant discovered fraudulent debit card charges on their bank statement. The card was reportedly stolen from the victim’s mailbox and then activated and used to make purchases at several locations on November 25th 2016. Surveillance video is being reviewed for suspect identification and pending charges.
  • 6:35 p.m. – A welfare check was conducted at Baytree Apartments at 107 First Avenue after a 911 hang up call was received by Jasper County Emergency Services.
  • 7:26 p.m. – A welfare check was conducted at a residence on First Avenue after a 911 hang up call was received by Jasper County Emergency Services.
  • 8:56 p.m. – Several gunshots were reportedly being fired in the Carters Mill Estates Community.
  • 11:27 p.m. – A civil dispute between a tenant and Management regarding pricing was reported at the Econo Lodge Motel at 511 James Taylor Drive.

NOVEMBER 27, 2016

  • 12:41 a.m. – A noise complaint was filed at a residence on Honeycomb Lane in the Bees Creek Plantation Community.
  • 1:22 a.m. – A noise complaint was filed in reference to loud music coming from an event at the Ridgeland Farmer’s Market at 9935 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.
  • 3:29 a.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 21 mile marker in reference to a gold Buick.
  • 3:36 a.m. – A welfare check was conducted on a 30 year old female at a residence on Sailfish Circle in the Carters Mill Estates Community after she suffered cuts to her arm.
  • 8:27 a.m. – A white Toyota Corolla was involved in a single vehicle collision on I-95 North around the 20 mile marker after the driver lost control and struck the center median guard wires.  One female was transported by EMS to Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeville for treatment.
  • 10:07 a.m. – A white Ford Econoline van and a gray Hyundai SUV were involved in a collision at the intersection of South Jacob Smart Boulevard and Adams Street.  No injuries were reported.
  • 10:47 a.m. – A white Mercedes and a white Kia Sedona were involved in a collision on I-95 South around the 21 mile marker.  No injuries were reported.
  • 12:58 p.m. – A suspicious black male was reported on East Adams Street.
  • 5:05 p.m. – A theft was reported at a residence at Heron Crossing Apartments at 163 Heron Crossing Drive after the complainant discovered a quantity of prescription medication to be missing.
  • 6:25 p.m. – A black Cadillac CTS and a black Dodge 3500 pickup were involved in a collision on I-95 North around the 18 mile marker.  No injuries were reported.
  • 6:36 p.m. – A black Nissan Armada and a gold Nissan Pathfinder were involved in a collision on I-95 North around the 18 mile marker.  No injuries were reported.
  • 6:39 p.m. – A white female Ridgeland resident was transported by RPD Officers from Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeville to the Palmetto Behavioral Health Center in North Charleston for treatment and evaluation.
  • 7:03 p.m. – A blue Honda Ridgeline and a silver Honda Civic were involved in a collision on I-95 South around the 18 mile marker.  No injuries were reported.
  • 9:20 p.m. – A welfare check was conducted at the Sunoco Station at 11965 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.
  • 9:34 p.m. – A suspicious person was reported outside of a residence on McTeer Street.
  • 11:02 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 33 mile marker in reference to a white Chevy Silverado.

NOVEMBER 26, 2016

  • 3:11 a.m. – A suspicious person was reported inside of a vehicle in the parking lot of the Subway Restaurant at 8234 East Main Street.
  • 6:03 a.m. – A black Volkswagen Jetta was stopped for speeding at the intersection of South Jacob Smart Boulevard and Smith’s Crossing where driver Martin Ramirez was found to be operating under a suspended Florida driver’s license.  He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as the vehicle was released to a licensed passenger.
  • 6:51 a.m. – A theft was reported at the Jasper Animal Rescue Mission at 1352 Carters Mill Road after employees witnessed a white male stealing items from a donation storage building on the business property.  Responding Officers placed Jon Lamar Brantley under arrest and transported him to the Jasper County Detention Center for the offense after placing him on trespass notice for the JARM property at Management’s request.
  • 7:11 a.m. – A suspicious person was reported in the parking lot of the Piggly Wiggly Grocery Store at 10847 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.
  • 8:15 a.m. – A theft was reported at a residence on North Green Street after the complainant discovered numerous fraudulent debit card charges and withdrawals on his bank statement.  Surveillance video is being reviewed for suspect identification and pending charges.
  • 10:31 a.m. – A vehicle theft was reported at a residence on West Adams Street after the complainant’s red 2013 Hyundai Sonata was stolen from the driveway after being left unlocked with the ignition keys inside.  As the responding Officer was gathering information the complainant received an online message from a Hardeeville Officer stating that her vehicle was in their custody after 2 black males fled from it during a traffic stop during the early morning hours.  The same suspects are believed to have used it as a getaway vehicle after conducting an armed robbery at the Tiger Express Exxon Station at 6309 West Frontage Road just after 2:00 a.m.
  • 11:50 a.m. – An animal complaint was filed at a residence on Wellington Lane in reference to a dog with an injured back leg on the caller’s property.
  • 1:08 p.m. – A suspicious vehicle was reported outside of a residence on Great Swamp Road.
  • 4:45 p.m. – A black male reportedly attempted to steal beer from the Piggly Wiggly Grocery Store at 10847 North Jacob Smart Boulevard but abandoned the property before leaving the area on foot walking South to the Ridgeland Weekly Rentals at 67 West Woodlawn Street.
  • 4:55 p.m. – Two ATV’s were reportedly racing on Bees Creek Road in front of the Bees Creek Plantation Community.
  • 6:14 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North around the 12 mile marker in reference to an older model blue sedan.
  • 9:27 p.m. – A 42 year old female was transported from a residence on North Green Street by EMS to Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeville after ingesting too many prescription narcotics.
  • 9:39 p.m. – A silver Pontiac Grand Am and a red Mercury were involved in a collision at the intersection of East Main Street and South Jacob Smart Boulevard.  No injuries were reported.
  • 10:06 p.m. – A suspicious vehicle was reported at Turpin Park at 901 North Logan Street.

NOVEMBER 25, 2016

  • 12:20 a.m. – A noise complaint was filed at Baytree Apartments at 107 First Avenue.
  • 2:03 a.m. – A welfare check was conducted at the Plantation Inn Motel at 11433 North Jacob Smart Boulevard after an open line 911 call was received by Jasper County Emergency Services.
  • 6:20 a.m. – Two suspicious males were reported in a wooded area bordering the Plantation Inn business property at 11433 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.
  • 9:44 a.m. – A harassment complaint was filed at a residence on Bee Creek Road in reference to unwanted text messages stemming from an ongoing dispute between two females.
  • 11:00 a.m. – Several suspicious personal items were discovered outside of the DaVita Dialysis Center at 112 Weathersbee Street.
  • 1:36 p.m. – Ridgeland Officers assisted Jasper County Deputies conducting a traffic stop on a red Ford Ranger pickup on Smith’s Crossing near the Highway 17 intersection where passenger Keith Brian Low, 45 of Ridgeland SC, was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center in reference to an outstanding breach of trust warrant issued by the Sheriff’s Office. Low’s charges stemmed from a September 29th 2016 report filed at a residence on Spruce Pine Road after Low borrowed a pressure washer and reciprocating saw and then refused to return them ultimately selling the pressure washer for profit.  He was stopped on today’s date by Deputies acting on a tip that he was heading towards his home in the Ridgeland Lakes Community after allegedly stealing cash from a complainant on Argent Boulevard in Hardeeville.  The victim in that case declined pursuing charges.

  • 2:00 p.m. – A suspicious vehicle was reported at the end of Lady Banks Drive in reference to an abandoned blue 2002 Chevy Avalanche.  A check of the vehicle information revealed it to be listed as stolen from a home on Honeycomb Lane in the Bees Creek Plantation Community on August 13th 2016.
  • 8:55 p.m. – Numerous reports were received of a reckless driver on I-95 in reference to a yellow Penske box truck traveling North between Hardeeville and Ridgeland.  Ridgeland Officers ultimately spotted the vehicle driving erratically around the 21 mile marker where they attempted to initiate a traffic stop.  The vehicle continued traveling North for approximately 10 miles before coming to a stop at the 31 mile marker where driver Walter William Perez was found to be operating while under the influence of alcohol as well as being in possession of a quantity of marijuana.  He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as Scott’s Automotive took possession of the vehicle.
  • 9:52 p.m. – A suspicious person was reported on North Green Street.
  • 11:22 p.m. – A noise complaint was filed at Baytree Apartments at 107 First Avenue.

NOVEMBER 24, 2016

  • 11:05 a.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 32 mile marker in reference to a red Ford Taurus.
  • 3:10 p.m. – An assault was reported at a residence on Dolphin Drive in the Carters Mill Estates Community after a 15 year old juvenile male threatened the complainant’s 9 year old son.  The 15 year old allegedly shoved him off of his bicycle and displayed a handgun during a previously unreported incident.
  • 7:49 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on Highway 17 at the Kato Bay Road intersection in reference to a white Chevy Impala.
  • 8:28 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on Tarboro Road in reference to a red Dodge pickup.
  • 8:41 p.m. – Patrol Officers stopped to assist a motorist driving a silver Saturn Ion with a flat tire on Highway 17 at the I-95 exit 18 interchange where driver Aiman Mohamed Hamouda was found to be intoxicated.  He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as J&M Towing took possession of the vehicle.  During the booking process Hamouda was found to be in possession of a quantity of marijuana resulting in an additional charge.
  • 11:40 p.m. – An assault was reported at a residence on Lydia’s Lane after a female was allegedly struck by a male during a verbal dispute.  The complainant requested a telephone call, however became uncooperative with the responding Officer and refused to provide information.

NOVEMBER 23, 2016

  • 7:30 a.m. – A burgundy Kia Optima was involved in a collision on Captain Bill Road at the I-95 overpass after striking a deer in the roadway.  No injuries were reported.
  • 9:40 a.m. – A complaint was filed at the Baytree Apartments Property Manager’s Office at 107 First Avenue after an item showing signs of having been lit on fire was dropped into the night drop box.
  • 10:00 a.m. – A black Ford Taurus was stopped for a lane change violation on I-95 South around the 21 mile marker where driver Michael Thomas Mio was found to be in possession of a quantity of marijuana.  Further investigation revealed Mio and passenger Omar Armando Gonzalez to be in possession of a quantity of Xanax, amphetamine and a clear crystal like substance which tested positive for cocaine base as well as numerous pieces of drug paraphernalia.  Both subjects were placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as Blatchley’s Towing took possession of the vehicle.
  • 10:31 a.m. – A red Ford SUV, a silver Honda Civic and a black Dodge Dart were involved in a collision on I-95 South around the 21 mile marker.  No injuries were reported.
  • 10:56 a.m. – A silver Hyundai Sonata was involved in a collision on I-95 South around the 21 mile marker after being struck by an unknown vehicle which then continued traveling South without reporting the incident.  No injuries were reported.
  • 11:56 a.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 33 mile marker in reference to a yellow tractor trailer.
  • 12:52 p.m. – A domestic dispute between a husband and wife was reported in the parking lot area of the Exxon Station at 8310 East Main Street after the male party took the female’s cell phone before shoving her to the ground during a verbal altercation.  Rafael Demetrius Mack was placed under arrest for the offense at which time a check of his information revealed him to be a wanted fugitive by the Georgia Department of Probation & Parole stemming from a previous burglary conviction.  A search of his person incident to arrest revealed him to be in possession of a quantity of crack cocaine resulting in an additional charge before being transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.
  • 1:49 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on North Railroad Avenue.
  • 1:52 p.m. – A black Pontiac Grand Prix reportedly caught fire on I-95 South around the 18 mile marker.  No injuries were reported.
  • 6:27 p.m. – A welfare check was conducted on an elderly female motorist driving a Chevy Cruze at the truck parking area on I-95 North around the 17 mile marker.
  • 7:22 p.m. – A report of illegal drug use was filed at the Pizza Hut Carryout at 10856 North Jacob Smart Boulevard in reference to three females allegedly smoking marijuana outside of the business.
  • 7:24 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 33 mile marker in reference to a black Nissan passenger car.
  • 10:19 p.m. – A suspicious black male and black female were reported at Turpin Park at 901 North Logan Street.
  • 11:39 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on North Railroad Avenue.

NOVEMBER 22, 2016

  • 7:31 a.m. – A welfare check was conducted on a black male subject lying in the middle of the roadway on South Green Street.
  • 8:26 a.m. – A harassment complaint was filed by a tenant at the Plantation Inn Motel at 11433 North Jacob Smart Boulevard in reference to unwanted text messages.
  • 9:55 a.m. – A shoplifting was reported at the Piggly Wiggly Grocery Store at 10847 North Jacob Smart Boulevard after Management witnessed Samuel Parker Fortson Jr. stealing store items during two separate visits within less than 2 hours.  Responding Officers soon after spotted Fortson at the intersection of West Main Street and South Jacob Smart Boulevard where he was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.
  • 11:21 a.m. – A theft was reported at a residence on Wise Street after the homeowner discovered a radio to be missing from the patio area of the home on November 17th.
  • 11:58 a.m. – A domestic dispute between a male and a female was reported in the parking lot of the Waffle House Restaurant at 8185 East Main Street.
  • 12:17 p.m. – An animal complaint was filed at the Sunoco Station at 11965 North Jacob Smart Boulevard in reference to a small brown dog wandering the business property.
  • 12:36 p.m. – A suspicious white Chevy pickup was reported outside of a residence on North Green Street.
  • 12:55 p.m. – Ridgeland Officers traveled to the Jasper County Detention Center in service of an outstanding warrant against inmate Aljaquan Lamont Hugue who is currently awaiting trial following his arrest for the August 5th 2016 burglary of a rented room at the Palms Motel at 10735 South Jacob Smart Boulevard. Hugue’s newest charges stemmed from a July 23rd 2016 theft at the Rite Aid Pharmacy at 8225 East Main Street where a black male suspect entered the employee restroom and removed a cell phone and a mp3 player from their packaging then concealed them in his clothing and left the store.  DNA and fingerprint evidence collected at the scene was then submitted to the Beaufort County and SLED Forensics Laboratories, both of which later returned with a positive match to Hugue.  His charge was upgraded from shoplifting to a felony property crime enhancement due to him having two previous burglary convictions appearing on his criminal record from a February 24th 2014 break in at a home in the Oakridge Trailer Park Community and another on March 6th 2014 at a home on East Wilson Street.
  • 2:32 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 30 mile marker in reference to a silver Cadillac Escalade.
  • 2:34 p.m. – A welfare check was conducted on a white male subject in the parking lot of the Dollar General Store at 8123 East Main Street.
  • 4:00 p.m. – A complaint of a black female causing a disturbance and refusing to leave the business property was filed at the Appliance Depot Store at 7605 West Main Street.  Responding Officers found Elouise Anderson to be highly intoxicated and consuming alcohol at which point she was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.
  • 6:33 p.m. – A Pontiac G6 and a Chevy 1500 pickup were involved in a collision outside of a residence on East Wilson Street.  No injuries were reported.

NOVEMBER 21, 2016

  • 12:11 a.m. – A theft was reported at a residence on Promise Way after an unknown person threw a brick through the rear driver’s side window of the victim’s vehicle and stole personal items from inside.
  • 7:52 a.m. – Jasper County Deputies discovered 4 recently stolen vehicles from various surrounding jurisdictions parked behind a residence at 73 Oak Hill Road, one of which was found to be a silver Ford F150 pickup taken from outside of a Third Avenue home in Ridgeland on November 20th.  Evidence collected at the scene has been submitted to the Beaufort County Forensics Laboratory for analysis.

  • 12:06 p.m. – A suspicious silver Ford Taurus was reported at the Star Point BP Station at 11122 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.
  • 1:12 p.m. – A white Honda Accord and a silver Dodge Caravan were involved in a collision in the parking lot of the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office at 12008 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.
  • 2:45 p.m. – A Taurus 9mm handgun was reported stolen from inside of a vehicle parked outside of an East Main Street business.  The incident is believed to have occurred on November 16th.
  • 4:27 p.m. – A welfare check was conducted on a black male Ridgeland Weekly Rentals resident at 67 West Woodlawn Street after he reportedly displayed signs of erratic behavior.
  • 7:31 p.m. – Two suspicious male juveniles were reported on Promise Way.  They were last seen walking towards First Avenue.
  • 7:42 p.m. – Ridgeland Officers assisted Richland County DSS Agents at Logan Lane Apartments at 544 South Logan Street in service of a family court issued ex-parte order regarding a 9 year old male and a 1 year old male being placed in temporary foster care.

NOVEMBER 20, 2016

  • 1:20 a.m. – A noise complaint was filed at Baytree Apartments at 107 First Avenue.
  • 1:43 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Short Stop BP Station at 10728 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.
  • 11:53 a.m. – A welfare check was conducted on a white male subject sitting by the roadway at the corner of East Main and Wilson Streets.
  • 2:00 p.m. – A suspicious white male was reported on West Adams Street near the Sister’s Ferry Road intersection.
  • 4:52 p.m. – A red Jeep Cherokee was stopped for speeding on I-95 South around the 16 mile marker where driver Lyanne Denisse Torres-Gautier was found to be operating without a driver’s license.  She was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as A-1 Towing took possession of the vehicle.
  • 7:24 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 27 mile marker in reference to a white Ford pickup towing a golf cart on a trailer.
  • 7:36 p.m. – A domestic dispute between two males was reported at a residence on Shadetree Street in the Carters Mill Estates Community resulting in one of the males pointing a 380 caliber handgun at the other.  Rogelio Lopez-Zaragoza was ultimately placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as the firearm was seized by responding Officers as evidence.
  • 10:46 p.m. – A water main burst on North Green Street near the Malphrus Street intersection causing the roadway to be shut down for a short period of time due to flooding.
  • 11:29 p.m. – A silver Ford F150 pickup was reported stolen from a residence on Third Avenue.  Surveillance video is being reviewed for suspect identification and pending charges.

NOVEMBER 19, 2016

  • 12:15 a.m. – A silver Hyundai Santa Fe was stopped for speeding on I-95 North around the 20 mile marker where driver Jose Antonio Rodriguez was found to be operating under a suspended Florida driver’s license stemming from non-payment of child support.  He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as the vehicle was released to a licensed passenger.
  • 12:57 a.m. – A white Nissan Altima was involved in a single vehicle collision after the driver lost control and struck a roadside drainage ditch at the intersection of Smith’s Crossing and South Logan Street.  No injuries were reported.
  • 2:21 a.m. – Ridgeland Officers responded to the Honey Hill area of Old House Road after Antonio Chaneyfield, 47 of Ridgeland SC, fled from Jasper County Deputies conducting a traffic stop on a white pickup in an attempt to serve an outstanding Family Court bench warrant against him issued in August of 2015 for non-payment of child support.  He was soon after apprehended in a wooded area by pursuing Deputies without further incident and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.

  • 10:01 a.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North around the 24 mile marker in reference to a blue Pontiac Trans Am.
  • 10:24 a.m. – A welfare check was conducted on a black male subject exhibiting strange behavior outside of the Main Street Pharmacy at 7752 West Main Street.
  • 11:13 a.m. – A suspicious black male was reported at the Taqueria Rocio Restaurant at 7715 West Main Street.
  • 12:56 p.m. – A welfare check was conducted behind the Ridgeland Alternative School at 456 Grays Highway after a 911 hang up call was received by Jasper County Emergency Services.
  • 1:05 p.m. – Two Harley Davidson motorcycles were involved in a collision on I-95 South around the 18 mile marker.  Two subjects were transported by EMS to Coastal Carolina Hospital in Hardeeville and one was airlifted to Savannah Memorial Hospital.

  • 7:36 p.m. – A suspicious white female was reported at the Quality Inn Motel at 221 James Taylor Drive.
  • 7:43 p.m. – A white Honda Civic and a blue Ford pickup were involved in a collision at the intersection of Bees Creek and Sweet William Roads.  The driver of the pickup was airlifted to Savannah Memorial Hospital for treatment.

  • 1:18 a.m. – A white Lexus SUV was involved in a single vehicle collision on I-95 South around the 17 mile marker after striking a deer in the roadway.  No injuries were reported.
  • 1:21 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on North Railroad Avenue.
  • 10:51 a.m. – A black Ford F150 pickup and a silver Toyota Scion were involved in a collision in the parking lot of the Jasper County Administrative Offices at 358 Third Avenue.  No injuries were reported.
  • 11:30 a.m. – An animal complaint was filed at Harvey’s Grocery Store at 8205 East Main Street in reference to a small brown dog wandering the business property.
  • 11:44 a.m. – A harassment complaint was filed at the Burger King Restaurant at 8257 East Main Street in reference to an ex-employee.
  • 2:05 p.m. – A welfare check was conducted on a white male pedestrian sitting on the ground on East Wilson Street.
  • 3:37 p.m. – A Samsung Galaxy S5 with a pink folding case was reported stolen from a Jasper County School bus driver while dropping off children in the Oakridge Trailer Park Community.
  • 4:41 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 33 mile marker in reference to a tan Dodge Ram 3500 pickup.
  • 5:11 p.m. – A female was reportedly consuming alcohol while driving a black Mercedes on North Green Street with two small children in the passenger seats.
  • 6:21 p.m. – A welfare check was conducted on a black male subject witnessed shouting towards the tennis courts at Turpin Park at 901 North Logan Street.

  • 8:01 a.m. – An assault was reported at the McDonald’s Restaurant at 8548 Grahamville Road after a male customer in the drive thru lane allegedly shoved an employee before leaving the area in a black Ford Mustang.
  • 11:29 a.m. – An animal complaint was filed at a residence on First Avenue in reference to stray cats roaming the area.
  • 11:48 a.m. – A suspicious vehicle was reported in a wooded area at the rear of the Oak Plantation Commons Community.
  • 12:19 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on Brandon Cove in the North Ridge Community.
  • 1:52 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 22 mile marker in reference to a light blue flatbed tractor trailer.
  • 2:43 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on Taylor Mill Road.
  • 2:59 p.m. – A welfare check was conducted on a female employee at the Exxon Station at 8310 East Main Street after being found unresponsive by a customer. She was ultimately transported by EMS to Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeville for treatment.
  • 3:22 p.m. – A welfare check was conducted on a subject in the parking lot area of the Jasper County DSS Office at 10908 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.
  • 8:18 p.m. – A complaint was filed at the Travelodge Motel at 8216 East Main Street in reference to two white males reportedly using illegal narcotics on the business property.
  • 9:05 p.m. – A white Volkswagen Jetta and a gray GMC Sierra pickup were involved in a collision on Bees Creek Road at the I-95 exit 18 interchange.  No injuries were reported.
  • 10:28 p.m. – Ridgeland Officers traveled to the Jasper County Detention Center at 12008 North Jacob Smart Boulevard in service of three outstanding warrants against inmate Zachariah Tremayne Pinckney following his arrest by Jasper County Deputies at a residence on Lady Banks Drive stemming from an assault on a female on Miranda Drive at 4:45 p.m. Pinckney’s charges with RPD stemmed from an April 4th 2016 traffic stop at the intersection of North Green and Malphrus Streets where he was arrested and charged with no driver’s license, operating uninsured and improper tag.  He was then found guilty of the charges in Ridgeland Municipal Court on June 6th and placed on a time payment plan to settle the court ordered fines which he failed to comply with resulting in a warrant being issued for his arrest.  Additional charges stemmed from a September 30th 2016 traffic stop on East Woodlawn Street where he was cited for driving under suspension and failure to register vehicle. He then failed to appear in court to answer to the charges on October 31st where he was found guilty during a trial in absence and two warrants were issued for his arrest.
  • 10:56 p.m. – A welfare check was conducted on a black male subject exhibiting strange behavior at the Waffle House Restaurant at 8185 East Main Street.  EMS was ultimately dispatched to the scene where it was determined that the subject’s blood sugar was low.
  • 11:12 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Rite Aid Pharmacy at 8225 East Main Street.

NOVEMBER 16, 2016

  • 5:11 a.m. – A verbal domestic dispute between a female complainant and her estranged husband was reported at Logan Lane Apartments at 544 South Logan Street.  The male party left the area prior to Law Enforcement arrival.
  • 8:58 a.m. – A welfare check was conducted at the I-95 Southbound truck parking area at the 17 mile marker in reference to a C.R. England tractor trailer bearing Indiana tag number 2184794.  The driver of the vehicle, Richard Harley, was reportedly last heard from in Colleton County on November 14th.
  • 9:57 a.m. – A black Jeep Patriot struck a tan GMC Sonoma at the intersection of East Main Street and Sycamore Drive.  The driver of the Jeep then fled the area traveling East to the parking lot of the Travelodge Motel at 8216 East Main Street where a black female exited the driver’s seat and fled the area on foot. Surveillance video is being reviewed for suspect identification and pending charges.  No injuries were reported by the victim in the collision.
  • 10:30 a.m. – A suspicious gray Mitsubishi Galant was reported in the parking lot of Heron Crossing Apartments at 72 Heron Crossing Drive.
  • 11:09 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on McTeer Street.
  • 1:18 p.m. – A harassment complaint was filed at Heron Crossing Apartments at 313 Heron Crossing Drive in reference to an ongoing dispute between the complainant and a female acquaintance.
  • 4:49 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Star Point BP Station at 11122 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.
  • 4:51 p.m. – A harassment complaint was filed at the Siesta Motel at 10530 South Jacob Smart Boulevard in reference to a female complainant reportedly having a dispute with her boyfriend’s Mother.  A second call was received in regards to the same situation at 5:40 p.m.
  • 6:06 p.m. – A harassment complaint was filed at a residence on Shadetree Street in the Carters Mill Estates Community in reference to an ongoing dispute between the female caller and a male acquaintance.
  • 11:09 p.m. – A welfare check was conducted on a male and female in the parking lot of the Siesta Motel at 10530 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.
  • 11:47 p.m. – A welfare check was conducted on a male subject at the Carolina Lodge Motel at 8260 East Main Street after he reportedly made statements that he may wish to do harm to himself.  He was transported by EMS to Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeville for evaluation and treatment.

  • 3:58 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the McDonald’s Restaurant at 8548 Grahamville Road.
  • 9:28 a.m. – A theft was reported at the Quality Inn Motel at 221 James Taylor Drive after a tenant awoke to find that his Georgia license plate, (QFJ-4306), had been removed from his vehicle sometime during the overnight hours.
  • 11:45 a.m. – A male subject was reportedly using profanity in a loud boisterous manner inside of the Burger King Restaurant at 8257 East Main Street before leaving the business property walking East.  Officers soon after spotted Andrew Shaw Roberts consuming a beer in the parking lot of the Jaspers Porch Restaurant at 153 James Taylor Drive where he was found to be highly intoxicated.  He was then placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.
  • 12:13 p.m. – A male juvenile was captured on surveillance video entering a vehicle and stealing several items in the parking lot of the Ridgeland Alternative School at 456 Grays Highway.
  • 2:24 p.m. – A black Toyota Camry was struck by an unknown vehicle which then left the area without reporting the collision in front of a residence on Brandon Cove in the North Ridge Community.  No injuries were reported.
  • 5:43 p.m. – A suspicious gold Chevy passenger car was reported on Russell Street.
  • 6:08 p.m. – Two gunshots were reported in the area of Heron Crossing Apartments at 72 Heron Crossing Drive.
  • 8:02 p.m. – Officers responded to an activate alarm at the El Cheapo Station at 11033 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.
  • 11:05 p.m. – A possible intoxicated driver was reported in front of the Plantation Inn Motel at 11433 North Jacob Smart Boulevard in reference to a male subject in a silver pickup.
  • 11:43 p.m. – A domestic dispute between a husband and wife was reported at the Plantation Inn Motel at 11433 North Jacob Smart Boulevard after a verbal dispute led to the female party being assaulted.  John Varellie was placed under arrest by responding Officers and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.

  • 7:57 a.m. – A silver Toyota Camry was stopped for a suspended tag violation on East Main Street at the exit 21 interchange where driver Cherrell Drake was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as A-1 Towing took possession of the vehicle.
  • 9:42 a.m. – A male subject was reportedly operating a tractor while intoxicated traveling East on Grays Highway.
  • 12:46 p.m. – A harassment complaint was filed by a resident of Heron Crossing Apartments at 313 Heron Crossing Drive.
  • 1:04 p.m. – An assault was reported in reference to a collection agency employee being threatened outside of a residence on East Main Street while attempting to repossess a blue Chevy Tahoe.
  • 2:31 p.m. – A white Chevy Cobalt was stopped for speeding on I-95 North around the 24 mile marker where driver Omar Marcelo-Dimas was found to be operating without a driver’s license.  He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as Blatchley’s Towing took possession of the vehicle.
  • 4:11 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North around the 9 mile marker in reference to a silver SUV.

NOVEMBER 13, 2016

  • 6:48 a.m. – An animal complaint was filed at the Quality Inn Motel at 221 James Taylor Drive in reference to a ferret running loose.
  • 7:10 a.m. – A harassment complaint was filed at the Quality Inn Motel at 221 James Taylor Drive in reference to a white male subject causing a dispute with Management after being told to leave the business property.
  • 9:25 a.m. – A white 2016 Chevy Cruz was reported stolen from outside of a residence on Brandon Cove in the North Ridge Community sometime after 11:30 p.m. the previous night.  The vehicle was soon after located by Onstar left abandoned in a wooded area at the end of Snookie Lane.  Evidence collected at the scene has been submitted to the SLED Forensics Laboratory for analysis.
  • 11:00 a.m. – Several items were reportedly knocked over and moved by an unknown person outside of a residence on Second Avenue sometime during the overnight hours.
  • 11:53 a.m. – A suspicious black female was reported at the intersection of Church and West Main Streets.
  • 12:34 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported in reference to a white Nissan Pathfinder traveling East on Grays Highway around the Oak Plantation Commons intersection.  The vehicle was soon after stopped by Patrol Officers for several moving violations in front of the Palms Motel at 10735 South Jacob Smart Boulevard where driver Lashanda Washington was found to be operating while under the influence of alcohol.  She was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as Elite Towing took possession of the vehicle.
  • 1:19 p.m. – A report was filed of illegal narcotics being sold by a black male driving an older model black Mercedes passenger car in the parking lot of the Short Stop BP Station at 10728 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.
  • 2:52 p.m. – A white female and a black male were reportedly selling illegal narcotics at the Econo Lodge Motel at 511 James Taylor Drive.
  • 3:35 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North around the 12 mile marker in reference to a red Chevy Cruz.
  • 4:03 p.m. – An incorrigible juvenile report was filed at the Travelodge Motel at 8216 East Main Street in reference to the caller’s 13 year old son being inside of a room where illegal drug activity was suspected.  The juvenile left the room voluntarily with his Mother but then exited her vehicle on Smith’s Crossing Road in front of the North Ridge Community refusing to return home.  He was then detained by responding Officers and transported to the Ridgeland Police Department where Agents with the Jasper County DJJ Offices were contacted who then made the determination to again return him to the custody of his Mother.
  • 4:25 p.m. – A suspicious male was reported in the parking lot of the King of Carts Showroom at 10750 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.
  • 4:56 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Spay & Neuter Animal Clinic at 21 Getsinger Street.
  • 5:25 p.m. – A Hispanic male was reportedly hitchhiking on the I-95 Northbound entrance ramp at the exit 21 interchange.
  • 7:41 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the El Cheapo Station at 11033 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.

NOVEMBER 12, 2016

  • 8:50 a.m. – A gray Honda Civic was stopped for speeding and a broken windshield violation on I-95 North around the 24 mile marker where driver Kaleb Nicholas Mchworter, 18 of Keystone Heights FL, was found to be in possession of a quantity of marijuana.  He was cited for the offenses and assigned a court date prior to leaving the area.
  • 1:33 p.m. – A fraud report was filed at the Quality Inn Motel at 221 James Taylor Drive in reference to a call received from a person claiming to be a SCE&G representative.  The suspect caller stated that the electric service at the business would be terminated unless a prepaid Visa card was purchased at a local business immediately in order to satisfy an alleged outstanding balance.  The Ridgeland Police Department would like to remind the citizens of Jasper County that no business or Government agency conducts business in such a manner and any calls, emails, text messages, letters or other correspondence from persons claiming to be representatives of such agencies should be reported to Law Enforcement immediately.  If you are in doubt of the validity of such a call simply advise the person on the line that you will be contacting whatever agency they claim to represent to confirm their information and then disconnect.
  • 3:02 p.m. – A suspicious white female was reported at the Plantation Inn Motel at 11433 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.
  • 6:24 p.m. – A report of illegal narcotics being sold was filed at the Carolina Lodge Motel at 8260 East Main Street in reference to a black male subject driving a black pickup.
  • 7:11 p.m. – A missing persons report was filed at the Sunoco Station at 11965 North Jacob Smart Boulevard after the male caller was unable to locate the female he was traveling with having stopped to use the restroom. Responding Officers discovered the male complainant, Samuel William Lunney Jr., to be intoxicated having been consuming alcohol while traveling at which point he was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center. The female passenger was found safe inside of the store stating that she was in fear of the male and did not wish to continue traveling with him.  
  • 7:34 p.m. – A burgundy Honda Pilot and a white Ford Escape were involved in a collision at the intersection of Bees Creek and Grahamville Roads.  No injuries were reported.
  • 10:24 p.m. – Traffic Officers traveling West on Smith’s Crossing Road observed a red Ford pickup turning in to the cemetery at the corner of Sycamore Drive where the driver immediately exited and fled the area on foot for unknown reasons.  The abandoned vehicle was then turned over to Scott’s Automotive for removal from the area.
  • 10:49 p.m. – A suspicious black male was reportedly knocking on doors at various residences on Old Logan Street.  The subject was last seen running West towards the Mitchellville area.
  • 11:47 p.m. – A verbal dispute between two females was reported at a residence on Malphrus Street.

NOVEMBER 11, 2016

  • 12:31 a.m. – A welfare check was conducted on a male resident at the Christ Central Mission at 11754 North Jacob Smart Boulevard at the request of Beaufort County Authorities after he reportedly made threatening telephone calls to a relative.
  • 7:34 a.m. – An animal complaint was filed at a residence on Eleanor Avenue in reference to a stray cat.
  • 9:11 a.m. – A male pedestrian was reportedly walking North on I-95 around the 23 mile marker.  Responding Officers made contact with Andrew Dennison Morgan who was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center after stating that he had been warned by a Hardeeville Officer on November 10th of the penalties for walking on the interstate.
  • 10:44 a.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 31 mile marker in reference to a vehicle transport company vehicle towing a Chevy Corvette.
  • 1:10 p.m. – A tan Hyundai passenger car and a Chevy pickup were involved in a collision on Grays Highway near the Log Hall Road intersection.  The driver of the Hyundai was airlifted to Savannah Memorial Hospital for treatment.
  • 3:06 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 in reference to a J.B. Hunt tractor trailer traveling North between Hardeeville and Ridgeland.
  • 4:30 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North around the 19 mile marker in reference to a gray BMW.
  • 7:18 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 33 mile marker in reference to a white station wagon.
  • 7:27 p.m. – A fight in progress was reported in front of a residence on East Wilson Street involving several individuals.  All subjects left the area prior to Law Enforcement arrival.
  • 8:45 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the El Cheapo Station at 11033 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.
  • 9:54 p.m. – A suspicious Ford SUV was reported in the parking lot of the Sunoco Station at 11965 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.
  • 11:51 p.m. – A vehicle was reportedly parked in the fire lane in front of the Waffle House Restaurant at 8185 East Main Street.  It was moved by the owner at the responding Officer’s request.

NOVEMBER 10, 2016

  • 12:06 a.m. – A suspicious silver Honda Accord was reported in the parking lot of the Exxon Station at 8310 East Main Street.
  • 12:28 a.m. – A domestic dispute between a male and a female was reported at the Plantation Inn Motel at 11433 North Jacob Smart Boulevard after a verbal dispute led to the intoxicated male party shattering a window glass of a neighboring room.  John Varellie was placed under arrest and transported to Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeville where for treatment to injuries sustained to his arm when breaking the window.  He was then transported to the Jasper County Detention Center under charges of public disorderly conduct and malicious injury to real property.
  • 10:13 a.m. – A white Chevy 1500 pickup was stopped for an expired South Carolina tag violation on North Jacob Smart Boulevard at the I-95 Southbound entrance ramp where driver Douglas Neal Maxwell Jr. was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as Little T’s Towing took possession of the vehicle.
  • 11:25 a.m. – A trespassing complaint was filed at the Plantation Inn Motel at 11433 North Jacob Smart Boulevard in reference to two white females being seen on the business property despite being ordered to leave by Management. Both subjects left the area of their own accord prior to Law Enforcement arrival.
  • 12:50 p.m. – A pedestrian on a bicycle was reportedly riding South on I-95 around the 25 mile marker.
  • 1:49 p.m. – Ridgeland Officers traveled to the Jasper County Detention Center at 12008 North Jacob Smart Boulevard in service of an outstanding warrant against inmate Lorenzo Larry Dash following his arrest by Sheriff’s Deputies on an unrelated assault & battery 3rd charge.  Dash’s charges stemmed from an April 3rd 2015 traffic stop at the intersection of East Main and Ryan Streets where he was cited after being found in possession of a quantity of marijuana concealed in his sock.  He then failed to appear in Ridgeland Municipal Court on July 6th 2015 to answer to the charges where he was found guilty during a trial in absence and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
  • 6:13 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North around the 11 mile marker in reference to a silver SUV.
  • 7:26 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 29 mile marker in reference to a silver tractor trailer.
  • 7:55 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office Detective’s Annex at 1460 Carters Mill Road.
  • 11:08 p.m. – A silver Ford Fusion reportedly struck an unknown piece of debris in the roadway on I-95 North around the 17 mile marker causing damage to the vehicle’s radiator.

NOVEMBER 9, 2016

  • 3:19 a.m. – A domestic dispute between a male and a female was reported at a residence on Sailfish Circle in the Carters Mill Estates Community after a verbal dispute led to the male party assaulting and striking the female several times. Willie James Brant Jr. was ultimately placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center under a charge of domestic violence 2nd.
  • 8:21 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on Smith’s Crossing Road.
  • 9:50 a.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 in reference to a gray Ford Taurus traveling North between Hardeeville and Ridgeland.
  • 1:06 p.m. – A civil dispute between co-owners was reported at the Shinetown Distillery at 857 James Taylor Drive.
  • 4:29 p.m. – Ridgeland Officers traveled to Walterboro SC where inmate Vernon Ward was turned over to their custody and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center following his arrest by Charleston County Deputies in reference to an outstanding warrant issued by the Ridgeland Police Department.  Ward’s charges stemmed from an August 10th 2016 traffic stop where he was cited for speeding and no driver’s license.  He then failed to appear in Ridgeland Municipal Court on September 19th to answer to the charges where he was found guilty during a trial in absence and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
  • 7:09 p.m. – A blue Chevy Suburban was involved in a single vehicle collision on Highway 462 at the Salzburg Landing intersection after the driver lost control and struck several trees.  No injuries were reported.
  • 9:47 p.m. – A welfare check was conducted in the area of Baytree Apartments at 107 First Avenue after several 911 calls were received by Jasper County Emergency Services from a male subject cursing at Dispatchers and then disconnecting.  Responding Officers ultimately located Clinton Green intoxicated behind one of the complex buildings still cursing on the phone with Emergency Dispatchers.  He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.
  • 11:09 p.m. – A gunshot was reportedly fired in the truck parking area on I-95 North around the 17 mile marker.

NOVEMBER 8, 2016

  • 1:01 a.m. – A suspicious burgundy Nissan was reported in the parking lot of the Short Stop BP Station at 10728 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.
  • 1:20 a.m. – A suspicious gold sedan was reported at the intersection of West Main Street and North Railroad Avenue.
  • 6:04 a.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 31 mile marker in reference to a dark colored SUV.
  • 8:29 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on Colony Drive in the Bees Creek Plantation Community.
  • 8:33 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Ridgeland Boys & Girls Club at 913 Grays Highway.
  • 10:34 a.m. – An animal complaint was filed on Colony Drive in the Bees Creek Plantation Community in reference to a black labrador retriever roaming the area.
  • 5:24 p.m. – A harassment complaint was filed at the Piggly Wiggly Grocery Store at 10847 North Jacob Smart Boulevard in reference to an ex-employee causing a problem with staff members.
  • 6:43 p.m. – A red Infinity and a gray Ford pickup were reportedly racing one another on I-95 traveling North between Hardeeville and Ridgeland.
  • 7:57 p.m. – A civil dispute between a customer and Management was reported at the New Hong Kong Restaurant at 8176 East Main Street.
  • 8:03 p.m. – A domestic dispute between a male and a female was reported at the Travelodge Motel at 8216 East Main Street with the male party assaulting the female victim during a verbal dispute and then leaving the area prior to Law Enforcement arrival.  A warrant affidavit has been filed against Joshua Thomas Garrison Sr, 33 of Tillman SC, charging him with domestic violence 3rd.

  • 8:12 p.m. – A theft was reported at the 4th Dimension Hair Salon at 7779 West Main Street after an undisclosed amount of cash was found to be missing from an employee’s personal belongings.  The incident is believed to have occurred sometime between Sunday November 6th and today’s date.

NOVEMBER 7, 2016

  • 3:51 a.m. – A verbal domestic dispute between a white female and a black male was reported in the parking lot of the Gulf Station at 8250 East Main Street.
  • 10:02 a.m. – A harassment complaint was filed at a residence on Honeycomb Lane in the Bees Creek Plantation Community regarding an ongoing dispute between the complainant and a male acquaintance sending unwanted text messages and Facebook posts.
  • 10:52 a.m. – A larceny was reported at the Carolina Lodge Motel at 8260 East Main Street after staff members discovered a television to be missing from a recently vacated room.  Surveillance footage is being reviewed for suspect identification and pending charges.
  • 12:45 p.m. – A report was filed at the Travelodge Motel at 8216 East Main Street in reference to complaints of a white female soliciting prostitution in the parking lot.  Responding Officers placed Deidre Ellen Roberts on trespass notice for the business property at Management’s request ensuring that she left the area. Approximately 20 minutes later Officers were dispatched a second time to the location after Roberts returned in violation of the trespass notice.  She was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center where she was found to be concealing an unknown packaged substance.  She was transported to Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeville where the package was removed and turned over to Law Enforcement.  Additional charges are pending identification of the substance.
  • 6:55 p.m. – A group of suspicious persons was reported at the truck parking area on I-95 South around the 17 mile marker.
  • 7:14 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Exxon Station at 8310 East Main Street.
  • 9:18 p.m. – A trespassing complaint was filed at the Southeast Pyrotechnics Warehouse at 11142 North Jacob Smart Boulevard in reference to a white female being on the business property without permission.  The subject left the area of her own accord prior to Law Enforcement arrival.
  • 9:58 p.m. – A black Ford Taurus was tracked speeding 50 mph in a posted 35 mph zone in front of the Siesta Motel at 10530 South Jacob Smart Boulevard. Officers attempted to initiate a traffic stop on the vehicle at which time the driver continued traveling North failing to yield to the Officer.  The vehicle then turned right on East Adams Street and then left onto South Logan ultimately continuing to a residence on East Wilson Street where a black female immediately exited the front passenger seat and fled the area on foot.  Driver Derrick Marquell Edwards was then taken into custody without incident under several traffic law violations as A-1 Towing took possession of the vehicle.

NOVEMBER 6, 2016

  • 1:07 a.m. – A noise complaint was filed at Baytree Apartments at 107 First Avenue in reference to two male subjects arguing.
  • 5:55 a.m. – A suspicious black male was reportedly standing in the middle of the roadway in front of Club Pluto at 8812 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.
  • 10:30 a.m. – An animal complaint was filed at a residence on Brandon Cove in the North Ridge Community in reference to a rabbit in the complainant’s yard.
  • 11:58 a.m. – Several gunshots were reportedly fired in the area of Fordville Road.
  • 12:45 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North around the 14 mile marker in reference to a dark colored Chevy.
  • 5:56 p.m. – A purple Honda Accord and a gold Toyota Camry were involved in a collision in the Harvey’s Grocery Store parking lot at 8205 East Main Street.  No injuries were reported.
  • 7:03 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North around the 12 mile marker in reference to a red passenger car.
  • 9:21 p.m. – An incorrigible juvenile report was filed by a passing motorist in reference to a dispute between the complainant and her juvenile nephew.

NOVEMBER 5, 2016

  • 2:02 a.m. – Two suspicious SUV’s were reported in the parking lot of Harvey’s Grocery Store at 8205 East Main Street.
  • 5:55 a.m. – A welfare check was conducted at the Waffle House Restaurant at 8185 East Main Street after information was received in regards to a possible shooting.
  • 10:07 a.m. – A report of illegal drug activity was filed in reference to subjects in a black Honda Civic traveling East on Main Street.
  • 12:09 p.m. – A property damage report was filed at the Ridgeland Alternative School at 456 Grays Highway in reference to a white Jeep Commander having suffered four slashed tires as well as shattered windows and a cracked windshield.  Information received showed that two of the tires were cut during the Ridgeland High School Homecoming Parade on Friday between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. forcing the owner to leave the vehicle overnight at which time the rest of the damage was inflicted during the overnight hours.
  • 1:04 p.m. – An animal complaint was filed at a Jasper County Board of Disabilities Home on East Adams Street after a gray and white pit bull roaming the area from a neighboring home came to the property and began barking and growling at staff members and residents putting them in fear for their safety. Responding Officers traveled to the owner’s home where the dog aggressively advanced on them as they approached resulting in the animal being tased and fleeing to the rear of the home.  Several attempts were made throughout the remainder of the day to locate the dog or it’s owner without success.
  • 1:29 p.m. – A suspicious silver Toyota Camry was reported in the parking lot of the Econo Lodge Motel at 511 James Taylor Drive.
  • 2:17 p.m. – Two small children were reportedly walking in the roadway unsupervised at the intersection of Smith’s Crossing and South Logan Street.
  • 5:06 p.m. – Patrol Officers spotted a white male subject stumbling in the roadway in front of the Palms Motel at 10735 South Jacob Smart Boulevard where a welfare check revealed him to be highly intoxicated.  James T. Bowen was then placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center under a charge of public drunkenness.
  • 7:30 p.m. – A verbal domestic dispute between a white female and a black male was reported in the front lobby area of the Econo Lodge Motel at 511 James Taylor Drive.
  • 8:08 p.m. – A black male attempted to purchase a prepaid debit card at the Dollar General Store at 8123 East Main Street using three counterfeit one hundred dollar bills.  Surveillance video is being reviewed for suspect identification.
  • 9:05 p.m. – A noise complaint was filed on Carters Mill Road in reference to loud music coming from inside of the Carters Mill Estates Community.
  • 9:08 p.m. – A welfare check was conducted at Devonwood Apartments at 137 Captain Bill Road after a 911 hang up call was received by Jasper County Emergency Services.
  • 9:33 p.m. – A domestic dispute between a male and a female was reported inside of a tenant’s room at the Econo Lodge Motel at 511 James Taylor Drive.
  • 9:40 p.m. – A green Ford Explorer was reportedly impeding traffic flow while traveling South on I-95 around the 23 mile marker.
  • 11:01 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 28 mile marker in reference to a blue tractor trailer.
  • 11:36 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on Benson Lane.

NOVEMBER 4, 2016

  • 5:09 a.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North around the 16 mile marker in reference to a gray Hyundai.
  • 7:11 a.m. – Ridgeland Officers traveled to the Beaufort County Detention Center at 100 Ribaut Road in Beaufort SC where inmate Lagarrick Lee Donaldson was turned over to their custody and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center in reference to an outstanding warrant issued by the Ridgeland Police Department.  Donaldson’s charges stemmed from an October 18th 2015 traffic stop at the intersection of Highway 17 and Smith’s Crossing where he was arrested and charged with driving under suspension, open container and simple possession of marijuana.  He then failed to appear in Ridgeland Municipal Court to answer to the charges on November 16th 2015 where he was found guilty during a trial in absence and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
  • 7:37 a.m. – A white Ford Escape and a blue Hyundai Sonata were involved in a collision in the parking lot of the Star Point BP Station at 11122 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.  No injuries were reported.
  • 9:05 a.m. – An animal complaint was filed at the Mcdonald’s Restaurant at 8548 Grahamville Road in reference to a group of stray kittens on the business property.
  • 10:37 a.m. – A complaint was filed at a residence on Shadetree Street in the Carters Mill Estates Community after the homeowner discovered evidence of someone having entered their Hyundai Santa Fe sometime during the overnight hours.  No items were reported missing.
  • 11:20 a.m. – A tablet was reported missing from inside of a room at the Travelodge Motel at 8216 East Main Street after being accidentally left on the property by the previous tenant.
  • 11:43 a.m. – A suspicious black male was reported at the Short Stop BP Station at 10728 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.
  • 11:53 a.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 28 mile marker in reference to a white Hyundai.
  • 3:01 p.m. – A red Powerboss Briggs & Stratton power generator was reported stolen from outside of a residence on Eleanor Avenue.  The incident is believed to have occurred during the nighttime hours of October 24th.
  • 3:14 p.m. – An animal complaint was filed at the Sparkle Car Wash at 10557 South Jacob Smart Boulevard in reference to a group of stray kittens.
  • 3:23 p.m. – A white Ford F150 pickup and a gold GMC Yukon were involved in a collision in the parking lot of the KFC Restaurant at 8146 East Main Street.  No injuries were reported.
  • 4:48 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 32 mile marker in reference to a red GMC SUV.
  • 5:45 p.m. – A suspicious Toyota Tacoma pickup was reported on Ike Street in the North Ridge Community.
  • 7:32 p.m. – A report of illegal drug activity was filed at Logan Lane Apartments at 544 South Logan Street in reference to a group of males in the parking lot area.
  • 10:01 p.m. – Patrol Officers spotted Daniel Allen Bostic in the parking lot of the Gulf Station at 8250 East Main Street where he was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center in reference to six outstanding warrants issued against him by the Ridgeland Police Department. Bostic’s charges stemmed from a November 3rd report filed at the Aussie Autobody Shop at 1010 West Adams Street regarding several vehicles being broken into during the overnight hours.  A review of surveillance footage at the business as well as surrounding cameras in the community revealed Bostic entering the property at approximately 10:22 p.m. on November 2nd and then rummaging through six vehicles as well as causing damage to one that he found to be locked in order to gain entry.  During a search incident to arrest he was found to be in possession of a quantity of marijuana resulting in an additional charge prior to being transported to the detention center.  Bostic is currently on supervised release stemming from a conviction for the July 16th 2015 burglary of the Fiddler’s Seafood Restaurant at 7738 West Main Street.
  •  10:06 p.m. – A burglary was reported at a residence on North Logan Street after the homeowner returned to find several items missing from inside of the home. Evidence collected at the scene has been submitted to the SLED Forensics Laboratory for analysis.
  • 11:39 p.m. – A blue Chevy Impala was involved in a single vehicle collision at the Mcdonald’s Restaurant at 8548 Grahamville Road after the driver fell asleep in the drive thru lane and drifted forward striking the side of the business. Responding Officers found driver Daquan Jamal Sibert to be operating under the influence of alcohol resulting in him being placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as Scott’s Automotive took possession of the vehicle.

NOVEMBER 3, 2016

  • 6:59 a.m. – A property damage report was filed at Baytree Apartments at 107 First Avenue in reference to several personal items on the complainant’s porch.
  • 9:05 a.m. – A suspicious Hispanic male was reported at the EZ Stop IV Station at 80 Blue Heron Drive.
  • 9:26 a.m. – A welfare check was conducted on a black female pedestrian witnessed stumbling in the roadway on West Adams Street.
  • 10:00 a.m. – A larceny report was filed at the Aussie Autobody Shop at 1010 West Adams Street after employees arriving for work discovered several vehicles on the business property which had been broken into sometime during the overnight hours.
  • 10:12 a.m. – A verbal dispute between two tenants was reported at Baytree Apartments at 107 First Avenue.
  • 10:31 a.m. – A white male pedestrian was reportedly walking North on I-95 around the 23 mile marker.
  • 12:19 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office Detective Annex at 1460 Carters Mill Road.
  • 3:56 p.m. – An animal complaint was reported at the intersection of East Woodlawn and South Logan Street in reference to a black dog.
  • 4:57 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Nimmer Turf business offices at 524 Nimmer Turf Road.
  • 6:10 p.m. – A suspicious person was reported at the intersection of Smiths Crossing Road and Sycamore Drive.
  • 6:28 p.m. – A Sterling tractor trailer and a Ford F150 pickup were involved in a collision at the intersection of Jacob Smart Boulevard and Main Street.  No injuries were reported.
  • 11:08 p.m. – Ridgeland Officers assisted Jasper County Deputies in responding to a residence on Captain Bill Road after an open line 911 call was received by Jasper County Emergency Services.

NOVEMBER 2, 2016

  • 10:48 a.m. – An assault involving two male inmates at the Jasper County Detention Center was reported in reference to an incident that allegedly occurred on November 1st.
  • 12:30 p.m. – Ridgeland Officers traveled to the Jasper County Detention Center at 12008 North Jacob Smart Boulevard in service of an outstanding warrant against inmate Yasmeen Contilina Brantley following her arrest by the Hardeeville Police Department.  Brantley’s charges stemmed from an August 19th 2015 traffic stop on Scarlet Ibis Drive where she was arrested and charged with driving under suspension as well as an outstanding warrant issued against her following a May 14th 2015 incident at the Gulf Station at 8205 East Main Street where she was captured on surveillance video stealing store items.  She then failed to appear in Ridgeland Municipal Court on November 9th 2015 to answer to the charges where she was found guilty during a trial in absence and a warrant was issued for her arrest.
  • 3:30 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 33 mile marker in reference to a gray Kia.
  • 5:07 p.m. – A silver Dodge Ram pickup, a gray Pontiac Vibe and a gray Ford Escape were involved in a collision in the parking lot of the Piggly Wiggly Grocery Store at 10847 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.  No injuries were reported.
  • 5:09 p.m. – Ridgeland Officers assisted Jasper County Deputies in responding to a domestic dispute between a male and female at a residence on Pine Forest Loop.
  • 5:16 p.m. – Ridgeland Officers assisted Jasper County Deputies in responding to a domestic dispute between a male and a female at a residence on Willis Drive where Crevon Romel Young, 22, and Jaqusha Benson, 23, were both placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center under a charge of domestic violence 2nd.  Their 2 year old daughter, who was present at the time of the incident, was turned over to the custody of a relative following the arrest.

  • 6:00 p.m. –  Ridgeland Officers transported a 36 year old male from Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeville to Colleton County Hospital in Walterboro SC for evaluation.
  • 7:31 p.m. – A group of suspicious subjects was reported in the parking lot of Fat Jack’s Thrift Store at 8205 East Main Street.
  • 7:59 p.m. – Two suspicious packages were discovered in a wooded area bordering the perimeter of the Ridgeland Correctional Institution at 5 Correctional Road.
  • 11:01 p.m. – A tractor trailer and a white box truck were involved in a collision on I-95 North around the 18 mile marker.  No injuries were reported.

NOVEMBER 1, 2016

  • 1:41 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at A-1 Towing at 9888 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.
  • 1:51 a.m. – A civil complaint was filed at the Econo Lodge Motel at 511 James Taylor Drive in reference to a dispute between Management and a tenant.
  • 9:13 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Ridgeland Boys & Girls Club at 913 Grays Highway.
  • 10:29 a.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North around the 21 mile marker in reference to a gray sedan.
  • 1:03 p.m. – An assault was reported in the Carters Mill Estates Community.  This case is currently under investigation.
  • 1:57 p.m. – A welfare check was conducted at a vacant residence on East Adams Street after the property owner discovered evidence that unknown persons may be staying inside.
  • 2:20 p.m. – A gray Ford Focus was stopped for a turn signal violation on Carters Mill Road at the McCormack Avenue intersection where driver Pablo Antonio Perez was found to be operating without a driver’s license.  He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as the vehicle was released to a licensed passenger.
  • 4:20 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North around the 18 mile marker in reference to a Dodge Magnum.
  • 7:54 p.m. – Two suspicious white males were reported at the Rite Aid Pharmacy at 8225 East Main Street.
  • 8:06 p.m. – A suspicious black male and black female were reported on Bailey Lane.
  • 8:51 p.m. – A theft was reported at a residence on Dolphin Drive in the Carters Mill Estates Community after several items were stolen from inside of a vehicle after it was left unlocked in front of the home.  Evidence collected at the scene has been submitted to the Beaufort County Forensics Laboratory for analysis.
  • 10:02 p.m. – A welfare check was conducted on a male tenant at Baytree Apartments at 107 First Avenue after a relative became concerned over increasingly erratic behavior.
