DAILY CRIME REPORTS – October, 2016

THE FOLLOWING INCIDENTS ARE AN ACCOUNT OF CALLS AND CASES RESPONDED TO BY OFFICERS OF THE RIDGELAND POLICE DEPARTMENT. THESE CASES ARE CLOSED OR CURRENTLY UNDER INVESTIGATION. OCTOBER 31, 2016

  • 12:26 a.m. – A vehicle theft was reported at the Siesta Motel at 10530 South Jacob Smart Boulevard after the complainant discovered his white 2007 Chevy Aveo to be missing from the parking lot area.  Responding Officers soon after spotted the vehicle traveling North on Jacob Smart Boulevard and conducted a traffic stop as it turned in to the parking lot of the New Hong Kong Restaurant at 8196 East Main Street where the driver was found to be the complainant’s son Levi Arthur Roy Gibson Jr., 28 of Hardeeville.  The victim declined pursuing charges in the matter as Gibson was cited and assigned a court date for no driver’s license after being found to be operating under a suspended Missouri driver’s license.
  • 6:27 a.m. – A silver Honda Civic was involved in a single vehicle collision on I-95 South around the 19 mile marker after the driver lost control and struck several trees off of the right shoulder of the roadway.  No injuries were reported.
  • 7:28 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Ridgeland Boys & Girls Club at 913 Grays Highway.
  • 10:12 a.m. – An animal complaint was filed on East Woodlawn Street in reference to a stray black dog roaming the area.
  • 1:39 p.m. – A white Chevy 1500 pickup and a burgundy Chevy Suburban were involved in a collision at the intersection of West Adams Street and Sisters Ferry Road.  No injuries were reported.
  • 3:23 p.m. – A wallet was reported lost from the parking lot of the Short Stop BP Station at 10728 South Jacob Smart Boulevard after the complainant accidentally dropped it in the parking lot area.  Surveillance video of this incident is being reviewed.
  • 3:24 p.m. – An assault was reported by a Corrections Officer at the Ridgeland Correctional Institution at 5 Correctional Road after he was allegedly struck by an inmate refusing to obey verbal commands on October 28th.  The incident was forwarded to the prison investigations unit to be followed up.
  • 4:24 p.m. – A black Pontiac G8 was stopped for speeding on I-95 North around the 23 mile marker where driver Vincent Demar Mack Jr. was found to be operating under a suspended South Carolina driver’s license as well as having no valid insurance coverage on the vehicle.  Further investigation revealed the South Carolina tag displayed to be under a state of suspension at which time Mack was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as Little T’s Towing took possession of the vehicle.

OCTOBER 30, 2016

  • 2:25 a.m. – A black Jeep Laredo and a white Honda Civic were involved in a collision on I-95 North around the 18 mile marker.  No injuries were reported.
  • 3:40 a.m. – Derrick Leddisse Tuten was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center by Hardeeville Officers during a traffic stop after he was found in possession of an open container of alcohol.  A check of his information also revealed him to be listed as a wanted person by the Ridgeland Police Department stemming from a March 20th 2016 traffic stop where he was arrested and charged with driving under suspension 2nd offense.  He was later found guilty of the charges in Ridgeland Municipal Court on July 11th and placed on a time payment plan to settle the court ordered fines which he failed to comply with resulting in a warrant being issued for his arrest.
  • 1:26 p.m. – An intoxicated white male was reportedly exposing himself while walking on James Taylor Drive between Harvey’s Grocery Store and the Quality Inn Motel.
  • 4:39 p.m. – A harassment complaint was filed at a residence on Owens Street in reference to a dispute between the complainant and a female neighbor.
  • 5:58 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on Highway 462 in reference to a gray Dodge Charger.
  • 6:10 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 27 mile marker in reference to a tractor trailer.
  • 6:49 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 30 mile marker in reference to a Hyundai passenger car.
  • 10:26 p.m. – A noise complaint was filed in the Oakridge Trailer Park Community on North Green Street in reference to loud music coming from a neighboring home.
  • 11:22 p.m. – Several gunshots were reported in the area of the Carters Mill Estates Community.

OCTOBER 29, 2016

  • 12:21 a.m. – A suspicious white Dodge was reported in the parking lot of the Star Point BP Station at 11122 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.
  • 1:19 a.m. – An assault was reported at a residence on Floyd Street after the 34 year old homeowner was allegedly attacked by three unknown Hispanic males in the driveway.  The suspects then fled the area traveling North in a black Ford pickup with a dark colored camper top.
  • 9:04 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Jasper County Magistrates Office at 967 West Adams Street.
  • 11:14 a.m. – A silver Ford Mustang was stopped for speeding on I-95 North around the 20 mile marker where driver Hau Ngoc Nguyen was found to be operating under a suspended Florida driver’s license stemming from failure to pay traffic ticket violations.  A check of the Florida tag displayed on the vehicle revealed it to be under a state of suspension resulting in an additional charge. Nguyen was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as A-1 Towing took possession of the vehicle.
  • 12:32 p.m. – Several abandoned items were reportedly discovered in the backyard of a residence on Promise Way.
  • 12:40 p.m. – A welfare check was conducted at a residence on Honeycomb Place in the Bees Creek Plantation Community in reference to a female having problems with her prescription medication.
  • 12:49 p.m. – A black Dodge Neon was stopped for speeding on I-95 South around the 22 mile marker where driver Felipe Ochoa was found to be operating without a driver’s license.  He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as J&M Towing took possession of the vehicle.
  • 1:21 p.m. – A possibly intoxicated driver was reported in the parking lot of the EZ Stop IV Station at 80 Blue Heron Drive.  The suspect left the area traveling East in a silver Kia SUV prior to Law Enforcement arrival.
  • 3:57 p.m. – A burgundy Pontiac Bonneville and a gold Toyota Camry were involved in a collision in the parking lot of the Carquest Auto Parts Store at 11059 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.  No injuries were reported.
  • 5:12 p.m. – A 17 year old male was reportedly assaulted by a Hispanic male at the Star Point BP Station at 11122 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.
  • 10:32 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 24 mile marker in reference to a dark colored sedan.
  • 11:22 p.m. – A suspicious vehicle was reported at Turpin Park at 901 North Logan Street.
  • 11:32 p.m. – A male tenant at the Forest Motel at 10504 South Jacob Smart Boulevard was reportedly assaulted by a black male and a white male from The Siesta Motel located next door.  Responding Officers located one of the suspects at The Siesta who filed a conflicting report from the original complainant.  There was no evidence to substantiate either story and all parties involved were warned to stay separated for the remainder of the night.
  • 11:56 p.m. – Several gunshots were reportedly fired in the area of West Adams Street. 

OCTOBER 28, 2016

  • 3:06 a.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 31 mile marker in reference to a burgundy Dodge Ram pickup.
  • 3:57 a.m. – A group of white male juveniles were reportedly on the roof of the Rite Aid Pharmacy at 8225 East Main Street.
  • 5:30 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on Fifth Avenue.
  • 6:38 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at The Morris Center at 10782 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.
  • 8:49 a.m. – A burglary was reported at the Bargain Surplus Store at 112 East Adams Street after the business owner arrived to find that an unknown person had forced entry through a window.  Surveillance video is being reviewed for suspect identification and pending charges.
  • 9:00 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Ridgeland Boys & Girls Club at 913 Grays Highway.
  • 10:05 a.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 31 mile marker in reference to a tractor trailer.
  • 10:29 a.m. – A trespassing complaint was filed at the Carolina Lodge Motel at 8260 East Main Street.
  • 11:38 a.m. – A domestic dispute between a male and a female was reported at the Siesta Motel at 10530 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.  Neither party involved wished to pursue charges in the matter.
  • 1:09 p.m. – Ridgeland Officers traveled to the Hampton County Detention Center at 409 Cemetery Road in Varnville SC where inmate Clara Nneka Campbell-Richardson was turned over to their custody and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center in reference to two outstanding warrants issued by the Ridgeland Police Department.  Richardson’s charges stemmed from a June 25th 2016 traffic stop where she was cited for driving under suspension.  While awaiting her court date she was again stopped and cited for a second driving under suspension violation on July 4th.  She then failed to answer to the charges in Ridgeland Municipal Court on July 18th and August 22nd where she was found guilty during a trial in absence and warrants were issued for her arrest.
  • 4:31 p.m. – A welfare check was conducted in the parking lot of the KFC Restaurant at 8146 East Main Street after several 911 hang up calls were received by Jasper County Emergency Services.
  • 7:10 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North around the 21 mile marker in reference to a white tractor trailer.
  • 8:38 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North around the 18 mile marker in reference to a white tractor trailer.
  • 9:33 p.m. – An intoxicated white male was reportedly lying by the roadside in the Oak Plantation Commons Community.
  • 11:55 p.m. – A welfare check was conducted at a residence at Baytree Apartments at 107 First Avenue after an out of state relative was unable to get in contact with the female tenant for an extended period of time.

OCTOBER 27, 2016

  • 7:18 a.m. – A blue Ford F150 pickup was involved in a single vehicle collision on Grays Highway at the Live Oak Road intersection after striking a deer in the roadway.  No injuries were reported.
  • 8:19 a.m. – A blue Honda CRV and a white Hyundai Accent were involved in a collision on Grays Highway at the Live Oak Road intersection.  No injuries were reported.
  • 9:01 a.m. – An animal complaint was filed on East Woodlawn Street in reference to a black dog wandering the area.
  • 9:57 a.m. – Ridgeland Officers traveled to the Beaufort County Detention Center at 100 Ribaut Road in Beaufort SC where inmate Bobby S. Nelson III was turned over to their custody and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center in reference to an outstanding warrant issued by the Ridgeland Police Department. Nelson’s charges stemmed from a May 30th 2016 traffic stop on Old House Road where he was cited and assigned a court date after being found in possession of a quantity of marijuana.  He then failed to appear in Ridgeland Municipal Court to answer to the charge on June 27th where he was found guilty during a trial in absence and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
  • 1:48 p.m. – A complaint was filed at the Travelodge Motel at 8216 East Main Street in reference to three black male tenants arguing with one another and refusing to check out.  All subjects left the area of their own accord after seeing Law Enforcement arriving on scene.
  • 4:44 p.m. – A property damage report was filed at a residence on First Avenue after a verbal dispute between three parties ended with one of the females throwing a large stone block through one of the windows of the victim’s red Nissan Xterra.  A warrant affidavit has been filed against Whitly Daniell Howard, 27 of Ridgeland SC, charging her with malicious injury to personal property.

  • 6:52 p.m. – Amanda Lorraine Baker, 31 of Ridgeland SC, was taken into custody in reference to an outstanding assault & battery 3rd warrant issued by the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office after Ridgeland Officers spotted her in the parking lot of the Pizza Bella Restaurant at 8196 East Main Street.  She was turned over to responding Deputies for warrant service and transport to the Jasper County Detention Center.
  • 7:50 p.m. – A white Ford Fusion and a black Honda Civic were involved in a collision on West Frontage Road just North of the Taylor Mill Road intersection. Three subjects were transported by EMS to Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeville for treatment.
  • 9:09 p.m. – Officers responded to a report of a Hispanic male knocking on various tenants’ doors at the Quality Inn Motel at 221 James Taylor Drive where Fernan Diego Quirama was found to be highly intoxicated wandering the business property.  He was then taken into custody and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center under a charge of disorderly conduct was well as being placed on trespass notice for the Quality Inn business property at Management’s request.

OCTOBER 26, 2016

  • 1:22 a.m. – A suspicious person was reported at the McDonald’s Restaurant at 8548 Grahamville Road.
  • 9:58 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on Colony Drive in the Bees Creek Plantation Community.
  • 10:31 a.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 22 mile marker in reference to a silver sedan.
  • 3:32 p.m. – A harassment complaint was filed at a residence on Shadetree Street in the Carters Mill Estates Community in reference to an ongoing dispute between two female complainants.
  • 5:55 p.m. – A counterfeit $20 bill was reportedly received as change given to a customer at the Family Dollar Store at 73 South Green Street sometime over the past weekend.  The bill wasn’t noticed until the complainant attempted to make a purchase with it at the Subway Restaurant on East Main Street on today’s date.
  • 6:40 p.m. – A suspicious black male was reported at the intersection of Azalea Avenue and South Logan Street.

OCTOBER 25, 2016

  • 12:19 a.m. – A blue Kia was involved in a single vehicle collision on I-95 South around the 22 mile marker after striking a deer in the roadway.  No injuries were reported.
  • 5:05 a.m. – A welfare check was conducted at the Boat & RV Megastore at 401 Sycamore Drive after an open door was discovered on one of the RV units.
  • 8:58 a.m. – Lashanda Renee Darien-Beaton and Malaysia Shalik Darian turned themselves in to Officers at the Ridgeland Police Department at 11323 North Jacob Smart Boulevard in reference to outstanding warrants issued against them stemming from an October 20th 2016 assault at the Waffle House Restaurant at 8185 East Main Street.  They were placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.
  • 9:06 a.m. – A welfare check was conducted on a male subject lying by the roadway in front of the Green Street Storage Facility at 261 South Green Street. He was transported by EMS to Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeville.
  • 9:57 a.m. – A theft was reported at the Quality Inn Motel at 221 James Taylor Drive after a tenant discovered an undisclosed amount of cash missing from his room following his stay on October 24th.
  • 12:00 p.m. – A lost cell phone was reported at the Siesta Motel at 10530 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.  The item was soon after recovered by the complainant.
  • 1:32 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North around the 10 mile marker in reference to a black tractor trailer.
  • 1:38 p.m. – A white Ford Explorer and a burgundy Dodge Ram pickup were involved in a collision in the parking lot of the Ridgeland Tire & Auto Service Center at 11263 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.  No injuries were reported.
  • 2:59 p.m. – A silver Mercury Marquis and a green Ford F150 pickup were involved in a collision at the intersection of Tarboro and Tillman Roads.  Both drivers were transported by EMS to Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeville for treatment.
  • 6:44 p.m. – A complaint was filed by a motorist traveling South on I-95 around the 25 mile marker in reference to three tractor trailers reportedly impeding traffic flow.
  • 7:20 p.m. – A blue Dodge Charger was involved in a single vehicle collision on South Green Street after striking a deer in the roadway.  No injuries were reported.

OCTOBER 24, 2016

  • 9:46 a.m. – A cell phone was reportedly stolen after being accidentally left on a table during an event at the Ridgeland Farmer’s Market at 9935 South Jacob Smart Boulevard on Saturday October 22nd.
  • 10:26 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on West Woodlawn Street.
  • 10:30 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Creative Living By Design Store at 7797 West Main Street.
  • 11:30 a.m. – Ridgeland Officers assisted South Carolina Highway Patrol in reference to a domestic dispute on South Jacob Smart Boulevard near the Mango Drive intersection.
  • 12:19 p.m. – A legally parked Toyota Camry was struck by a pickup which then fled the area in the parking lot at Harvey’s Grocery Store at 8205 East Main Street.
  • 1:40 p.m. – Ridgeland Officers assisted Jasper County Deputies in responding to a burglary at a residence on Family Circle Drive after the property owner discovered a broken door glass and several items missing from the home.
  • 3:58 p.m. – An animal complaint was filed in reference to a stray dog at the intersection of Owens Street and Second Avenue.
  • 4:13 p.m. – A suspicious person was reported in the parking lot of the Star Point BP Station at 11122 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.
  • 4:32 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North around the 14 mile marker in reference to a black GMC Yukon.
  • 4:38 p.m. – Ridgeland Officers transported a 44 year old black male from his residence at the Ridgeland Weekly Rentals at 67 West Woodlawn Street to Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeville after a commitment order was issued by the Jasper County Probate Office.  Officers later returned to the hospital at 9:53 p.m. and transported the subject to Palmetto Behavioral Health in Summerville SC.
  • 5:48 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported at the intersection of Old House and Sweet William Road in reference to a red Chevy passenger car.
  • 5:57 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 28 mile marker in reference to a teal green van.
  • 11:54 p.m. – A suspicious vehicle was reported at the Rite Aid Pharmacy parking lot at 8225 East Main Street.

OCTOBER 23, 2016

  • 2:01 a.m. – A silver Chevy Silverado pickup was involved in a single vehicle collision after failing to stop at a stop sign at the intersection of West Adams Street and Carters Mill Road where driver Jacob Carroll Allen, 27 of Ridgeland SC, was found to be in possession of several open containers of beer.  He was cited for the offense and assigned a court date as well as additional charges of driving too fast for conditions and disregarding a stop sign prior to being transported by EMS to Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeville for treatment.
  • 2:09 a.m. – Ridgeland Officers assisted Jasper County Deputies in responding to Club Pluto at 8812 South Jacob Smart Boulevard in reference to a male patron causing a disturbance and refusing to leave the property when ordered by staff. Upon arrival Bernard Alexander Lyles, 31 of Hardeeville SC, was identified as a wanted person by the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office at which point he fled the area on foot running into a wooded area where he was quickly apprehended by pursuing Deputies without further incident and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.  Lyles’ charges stemmed from a July 29th 2016 incident at Club Karma at 2653 Speedway Boulevard in Hardeeville where he attempted to force one of the club dancers into his vehicle against her will. Security staff then intervened at which point Lyles produced a handgun leading to a struggle between himself and security in the parking lot.  Lyles then fired a single shot striking one of the staff members in the hand before the gun was ultimately wrestled away from him and he fled the area.  He is currently being held under charges of attempted murder, possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime & possession of a handgun by a convicted violent felon.

  • 11:49 a.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North around the 18 mile marker in reference to a white Dodge Caravan.
  • 12:34 p.m. – Ridgeland Officers assisted Jasper County Deputies in responding to the parking lot of the Exxon Station at 8310 East Main Street in reference to a 17 year old black male inside of a vehicle in the parking lot having suffered a gunshot wound to his right hand.  Information gathered revealed that the shooting had occurred outside of a residence on Captain Bill Road when the victim exited the vehicle he was riding in along with a female and an infant child who were reportedly unharmed.  The victim was transported by EMS to Savannah Memorial Hospital for treatment.
  • 1:40 p.m. – A trespassing complaint was filed at the KFC Restaurant at 8146 East Main Street in reference to a white male subject refusing to leave the business property when ordered by Management.
  • 2:09 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 27 mile marker in reference to a silver Dodge pickup.
  • 2:29 p.m. – A shoplifting was reported at the Piggly Wiggly Grocery Store at 10847 North Jacob Smart Boulevard after staff members witnessed a white male stealing store items by concealing them inside of his clothing.  The subject returned the items when confronted by Management and left the area on foot prior to Law Enforcement arrival.  Responding Officers spotted a male matching the given description in the parking lot of the Palms Motel at 10735 South Jacob Smart Boulevard where Joshua Aaron Massie was positively identified by witnesses.  He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.
  • 3:34 p.m. – A child was reportedly walking on the shoulder of I-95 north of the exit 21 interchange.
  • 6:45 p.m. – A black female was reportedly knocking on various residential doors on Shadetree Street in the Carters Mill Estates Community asking homeowners for beer and then threatening them if they refused.
  • 10:34 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North around the 18 mile marker in reference to a gold Ford Crown Victoria racing a white sedan.
  • 10:37 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Bobops Convenience Store at 8548 Grahamville Road.

OCTOBER 22, 2016

  • 6:14 a.m. – Patrol Officers discovered a red Dodge Ram pickup parked unoccupied in the middle of the roadway blocking the lanes of travel on James Taylor Drive.  The vehicle was removed from the area by A-1 Towing.
  • 9:22 a.m. – A loitering complaint was filed at the Burger King Restaurant at 8257 East Main Street in reference to a black male lying on a dining table.  The subject initially refused to leave when ordered by staff members but ultimately left of his own accord after learning that Law Enforcement was en route.
  • 2:32 p.m. – A silver Volvo z70 was stopped for an expired tag violation in the Piggly Wiggly Grocery Store parking lot at 10847 North Jacob Smart Boulevard where driver Herman Eugene Sanders, 48 of Beaufort SC, was found to be listed as a wanted person by the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office in reference to an outstanding General Sessions bench warrant stemming from a failure to appear violation on a felony drug charge.  He was turned over to the custody of responding Deputies for transport to the Jasper County Detention Center as the vehicle was released to a licensed passenger.

  • 8:20 p.m. – A silver Lexus is200 was stopped for speeding on I-95 South around the 23 mile marker where driver George Walter Roundtree was found to be operating without a driver’s license.  He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as the vehicle was released to a licensed passenger.
  • 11:24 p.m. – A noise complaint was filed on Shadetree Street in the Carters Mill Estates Community in reference to loud music coming from a neighboring residence.

OCTOBER 21, 2016

  • 1:12 a.m. – A suspicious vehicle was reported at the intersection of West Main Street and North Railroad Avenue in reference to a black Mercedes.
  • 6:30 a.m. – A gray Kia Sorento was involved in a single vehicle collision after striking a deer in the roadway on I-95 North around the 20 mile marker.  No injuries were reported.
  • 7:19 a.m. – A suspicious person was reported in the wooded area surrounding the Ridgeland Correctional Institution at 5 Correctional Road 
  • 7:25 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Ridgeland Boys & Girls Club at 913 Grays Highway.
  • 8:59 a.m. – A red Toyota Tundra pickup was involved in a single vehicle collision on I-95 South after striking a road sign when entering the truck parking area at the 17 mile marker.  No injuries were reported.
  • 9:32 a.m. – A silver Isuzu Trooper was involved in a single vehicle collision when the driver lost control on the I-95 Southbound exit ramp at the 21 mile marker causing the vehicle to overturn.  The elderly female driver was transported by EMS to Savannah Memorial Hospital for treatment.
  • 11:19 a.m. – A blue Honda Civic was involved in a single vehicle collision on I-95 South around the 19 mile marker after the driver lost control and struck the center median guard wires.  No injuries were reported.
  • 11:21 a.m. – A welfare check was conducted at a residence on East Main Street at the North Jacob Smart Boulevard intersection in reference to information received that a female juvenile recently reported as a runaway to the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office was possibly inside.  Daneisha Lachaye Fulton has been missing from her home on Cypress Branch Road since 10:00 p.m. on October 20th when she left without permission following an argument with her Mother.   • 11:52 a.m. – A red Dodge Ram pickup and a black Kenworth tractor trailer were involved in a collision on I-95 North around the 23 mile marker.  No injuries were reported.
  • 1:40 p.m. – A civil dispute between a customer and Management was reported at the Boat & RV Megastore at 401 Sycamore Drive.
  • 1:54 p.m. – A white male was reportedly asking customers and passers by for money in the parking lot of the EZ Stop IV Station at 80 Blue Heron Drive and then cursing at them if they refused.  Responding Officers found suspect  Andrew Shaw Roberts to be intoxicated at which point he was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.
  • 3:43 p.m. – A gray Nissan Altima was struck by a white Chevy passenger car in the parking lot of the Star Point BP Station at 11122 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.  The driver of the Chevy then fled the area traveling West on Grays Highway while being followed by the driver of the Nissan who ultimately declined filing a report due to lack of physical damage.
  • 4:00 p.m. – An animal complaint was filed at the Green Street Storage Facility at 261 South Green Street in reference to a snake inside of one of the units.
  • 5:40 p.m. – A complaint was filed at a residence in the Oakridge Trailer Park Community on North Green Street regarding a bullying incident involving 3 male juveniles.
  • 6:47 p.m. – A blue Chrysler 300 was stopped for speeding on I-95 South around the 22 mile marker where driver Abdulaziz Almutairi was found to be operating without a driver’s license.  He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as the vehicle was released to a licensed passenger.
  • 6:49 p.m. – A suspicious person was reported at the Citgo Station at 107 Sycamore Drive.
  • 7:51 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 in reference to a flatbed tractor trailer traveling North between Hardeeville and Ridgeland.
  • 7:56 p.m. – A blue Chevy Sonic was stopped for speeding on I-95 South around the 20 mile marker where driver Jason Bradley Hughes was found to be operating under a suspended Georgia driver’s license.  He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as the vehicle was released to a licensed passenger.
  • 8:55 p.m. – A white Chevy Blazer was struck by a burgundy Ford SUV in the parking lot of the KFC Restaurant at 8146 East Main Street.  The driver of the Ford then fled the area traveling West on Main Street and then turning South on Jacob Smart Boulevard.  No injuries were reported.
  • 10:50 p.m. – A noise complaint was filed at the Carolina Lodge Motel at 8260 East Main Street in reference to occupants inside of a rented room.  Officers were dispatched a second and third time at 11:10 and 11:40 p.m.
  • 10:52 p.m. – A welfare check was conducted at the Econo Lodge Motel at 511 James Taylor Drive after Patrol Officers discovered an open door on an unoccupied room.

OCTOBER 20, 2016

  • 3:39 a.m. – A suspicious vehicle was reported in the parking lot of the McDonald’s Restaurant at 8548 Grahamville Road in reference to an orange Dodge Challenger.
  • 5:39 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Pizza Bella Restaurant at 8196 East Main Street.
  • 10:07 a.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 23 mile marker in reference to a blue Honda Odyssey.
  • 10:56 a.m. – Jasper County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a residence on Glover Road after receiving a request for a welfare check from the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office regarding a one month old infant born prematurely and requiring medication as well as a heart monitor. Upon arrival the home was found to have no electricity or running water and the infant was soiled without diapers or wipes.  Further investigation revealed a syringe inside the child’s diaper bag at which time DSS was notified and he was taken into emergency protective custody before being transported by EMS to Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeville.  The infant’s Mother, Deidre Ellen Roberts, was found to be listed as a wanted person by the Ridgeland Police Department at which time she was observed attempting to conceal a spoon containing an unidentified residue while being taken into custody.  She was then turned over to responding Ridgeland Officers and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.  Roberts’ outstanding warrant stemmed from a July 21st 2016 incident at Harvey’s Grocery Store at 8205 East Main Street where she presented a stolen check with a forged signature in an attempt to receive cash.  She left the business prior to Law Enforcement arrival after being unable to produce identification but was soon after positively identified through surveillance footage at which time a warrant was issued for her arrest.
  • 11:00 a.m. – A harassment complaint was filed in reference to a female complainant being followed around town by a subject involved in a previous civil suit.
  • 12:07 p.m. – An animal complaint was filed at the Piggly Wiggly Grocery Store at 10847 North Jacob Smart Boulevard in reference to a female customer entering the store with her pet dog.
  • 12:45 p.m. – A suspicious white male was reported at the A-1 Bail Bonds office at 188 Weathersbee Street.
  • 5:25 p.m. – Officers responded to a report of a fight in progress at the Waffle House Restaurant at 8185 East Main Street involving 4 females attacking a single female in the front entrance doorway of the business.  A review of surveillance footage showed Malaysia Shalik Darien, Shyleema Monay Jenkins, Ashley Renee Wright & Lashanda Renee Darien-Beaton repeatedly striking Zonova Stephanie Carter during a dispute after which Beaton and Darien fled the area in a black Mercedes prior to Law Enforcement arrival.  A third suspect fled on foot but was quickly located by responding Sheriff’s Deputies and returned to the scene.  Shyleema Jenkins and Ashley Wright were taken into custody stemming from the evidence recovered on the video footage at which time victim Zonova Carter was found to be intoxicated and continuously shouting obscenities resulting in her being placed under arrest as well under a disorderly conduct charge.  A check of her information revealed her to be listed as a wanted person by the Berkeley County SC Sheriff’s Office in reference to an outstanding assault warrant resulting in an additional charge. A male subject not involved with the assault, Erick Jenkins was also taken into custody after providing false information relating to one of the suspects who fled the scene.  All four subjects were placed on trespass notice for the Waffle House business property at Management’s request before being transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as warrant affidavits were filed against Lashanda Darien-Beaton, 35 of Pineland SC, and Malaysia Darien, 19 of Garnett SC, under the charge of assault & batter by mob.

  • 1:15 a.m. – A theft was reported at the Ridgeland Coin Laundry at 10246 South Jacob Smart Boulevard in reference to clothing removed from a dryer.
  • 7:30 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the K&L Granite Showroom at 11742 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.
  • 7:51 a.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North around the 22 mile marker in reference to a black Land Rover.
  • 12:26 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North around the 11 mile marker in reference to a Fedex delivery truck.
  • 1:35 p.m. – A loitering complaint was filed at Logan Lane Apartments at 544 South Logan Street in reference to a group of juveniles in the parking lot area attempting to instigate a fight.
  • 1:46 p.m. – A suspicious person report was filed at Harvey’s Grocery Store at 8205 East Main Street in reference to three black males walking a single black female into a wooded area.
  • 4:28 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 in reference to a blue Ford F150 pickup traveling North between Hardeeville and Ridgeland.
  • 4:34 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 33 mile marker in reference to a dark colored Audi sedan.
  • 7:21 p.m. – A suspicious person was reported outside of a vacant home on Woods Court.
  • 7:59 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 33 mile marker in reference to a burgundy tractor trailer.
  • 8:31 p.m. – A red Dodge Challenger was involved in a single vehicle collision on I-95 South around the 18 mile marker after striking a deer in the roadway.  No injuries were reported.
  • 8:50 p.m. – Officers responded to Heron Crossing Apartments at 209 Heron Crossing Drive after a 911 call was received from a tenant stating that an elderly female living in an upstairs unit was repeatedly beating on the floor of her bedroom indicating that she may have fallen.  Officer’s attempts to make contact with a key holder to access the apartment were unsuccessful at which point the decision was made to force entry.  The subject was found in the floor of her bedroom where she was treated by responding EMS Personnel.

  • 7:57 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Ridgeland Boys & Girls Club at 913 Grays Highway.
  • 8:29 a.m. – A suspicious person was reported on West Main Street near the Sisters Ferry Road intersection.
  • 9:43 a.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 27 mile marker in reference to a tractor trailer hauling oversized cargo.
  • 3:57 p.m. – An animal complaint was filed at a residence on First Avenue in reference to stray cats roaming the area.
  • 4:43 p.m. – A harassment complaint was filed at the Carolina Lodge Motel at 8260 East Main Street following a verbal dispute between two females.
  • 6:00 p.m. – Officers responded to the Plantation Inn Motel at 11433 North Jacob Smart Boulevard in reference to a 51 year old male tenant suffering a laceration to his arm resulting from a fall.  He was transported by EMS to Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeville for treatment.
  • 6:46 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at Ken’s Tire Service at 10464 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.
  • 9:16 p.m. – A loitering complaint was filed at the Travelodge Motel at 8216 East Main Street in reference to a group of juveniles in the parking lot area.
  • 11:57 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North around the 13 mile marker in reference to a tractor trailer.

OCTOBER 17, 2016

  • 12:54 a.m. – A noise complaint was filed at the Oakridge Trailer Park Community on North Green Street in reference to loud music coming from a neighboring residence.
  • 1:28 a.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North around the 16 mile marker in reference to a red Chevy passenger car.
  • 3:33 a.m. – A suspicious Hispanic male was reportedly knocking on a complainant’s door at a residence on Oakridge North in the Oakridge Trailer Park Community.  Responding Officers discovered the incident to be stemming from a verbal domestic dispute between the male party and his wife.  The male agreed to return to his home and settle the issue in the morning; however approximately 15 minutes later Officers were again dispatched to the same location where the subject was advised of the Jasper County Family Court procedures to follow.
  • 5:13 a.m. – A welfare check was conducted on an elderly female subject inside of a vehicle in the parking lot of Baytree Apartments at 107 First Avenue.
  • 6:52 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North around the 13 mile marker in reference to a logging truck.
  • 10:08 p.m. – A civil dispute between Management and a tenant was reported at the Carolina Lodge Motel at 8260 East Main Street.
  • 11:52 p.m. – Patrol Officers discovered a bronze Fiat parked in the middle of the roadway with no headlights in operation on Old House Road around the Honey Hill area where driver Aimee Durr was found to be in possession of several open containers of beer as well as operating under a suspended New Mexico driver’s license.  She was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as Scott’s Automotive took possession of the vehicle.

  • 12:16 a.m. – An assault was reported at Baytree Apartments at 107 First Avenue involving 2 black males, one of whom was allegedly struck with a hammer during a verbal dispute.  Neither party wished to pursue charges in the matter.
  • 2:10 a.m. – A noise complaint was filed at Heron Crossing Apartments at 72 Heron Crossing Drive in reference to a group of individuals shouting in the parking lot.
  • 9:35 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on McTeer Street.
  • 10:19 a.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 41 mile marker in reference to a silver Nissan Altima.
  • 12:09 p.m. – A welfare check was conducted on a white male pedestrian in front of the Bank of Walterboro at 8058 East Main Street.
  • 1:52 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on South Green Street.
  • 4:17 p.m. – Officers responded to the Jasper County Detention Center at 12008 North Jacob Smart Boulevard after an inmate intentionally damaged a fire system sprinkler head in an attempt to cause flooding to her cell.  Aleisha Alan Galvin, who has been jailed under a shoplifting charge by Hardeeville Police since September 29th, was then charged with the offense.
  • 9:05 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on Bailey Lane.
  • 10:16 p.m. – A welfare check was conducted at a residence on Sailfish Circle in the Carters Mill Estates Community after an open line 911 call was received by Jasper County Emergency Services.

OCTOBER 15, 2016

  • 12:31 a.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 44 mile marker in reference to a white box truck.
  • 3:32 a.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 28 mile marker in reference to a blue Hyundai Veloster.
  • 4:28 a.m. – A suspicious person was reported in front of the South State Bank at 10671 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.
  • 5:26 a.m. – Ridgeland Officers assisted Jasper County Deputies in responding to a sexual assault of a minor at a residence on Cherry Hill Road.
  • 5:26 a.m. – A report of gunshots being fired was filed on Sailfish Circle in the Carters Mill Estates Community.
  • 6:26 a.m. – Officers responding to a gunshot in the area of the Rite Aid Pharmacy Shopping Center at 8225 East Main Street recovered a spent bullet inside of the Shoreline Medical Transport Office after discovering a bullet hole in the front window of the business.  No injuries were reported and surveillance video is being reviewed for suspect identification and pending charges.
  • 7:20 a.m. – A reckless driver was reported on Highway 462 at the Bolan Hall Road intersection in reference to a tan passenger car.
  • 9:06 a.m. – A black male armed with a sawed off shotgun was reported in the parking lot of Baytree Apartments at 107 First Avenue.  The suspect left the area in white Honda passenger car prior to Law Enforcement arrival.  Approximately 30 minutes later Officers spotted two black males, one of which was listed as the armed suspect, engaged in a fight in the parking lot near a white Honda.  Cornell Alphonso Youmans, 27 of Ridgeland SC, was detained without further incident and ultimately turned over to the custody of Sheriff’s Deputies for transport to the Jasper County Detention Center after being found to be listed as a wanted person in reference to an outstanding Family Court bench warrant.  A search of the residence he entered while allegedly armed yielded no firearms.  Neither party involved wished to pursue charges in the parking lot fight.

  • 11:02 a.m. – A welfare check was conducted at a residence on Sailfish Circle in the Carters Mill Estates Community after Sheriff’s Deputies discovered a white 1998 Chrysler Sebring wrecked and unoccupied in a wooded area outside of the Ridgeland town limits.  A check of the vehicle information revealed it to be registered to a Hispanic male subject at the Sailfish Circle address.
  • 3:11 p.m. – A report of illegal drug activity was filed at the Forest Motel at 10504 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.
  • 4:00 p.m. – A disturbance was reported at the Jalisco Tienda Tortilleria at 7790 West Main Street after the complainant’s 13 year old daughter was witnessed being kissed by a 24 year old female acquaintance.
  • 4:45 p.m. – A theft was reported by a tenant at the Forest Motel at 10504 South Jacob Smart Boulevard in reference to a black pellet gun.  Responding Officers discovered that the item had been taken and secured by the complainant’s roommate because he had allegedly been threatening other guests with it while intoxicated.  The pellet gun was turned over to Officers for safe keeping until it could be returned to the complainant, Roger Warren James, at a later date.  Approximately 45 minutes later Officers were again dispatched to the same location where James was found intoxicated in the parking lot with a small wound to his arm resulting from an altercation with another tenant whom he had threatened after Officers left the area.  He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center after being treated for his injury by EMS Personnel.
  • 6:56 p.m. – A domestic dispute between a Father and son was reported in the parking lot of the Fiddler’s Seafood Restaurant at 7738 West Main Street after the son, who had taken his Father’s Chevy Silverado pickup from their home in Cope SC, fled the area when he spotted his Father approaching.  The vehicle was discovered approximately 30 minutes later stuck in a roadside drainage ditch outside of a residence on Pine Forest Loop at which time it was returned to the rightful owner.
  • 11:13 p.m. – A noise complaint was filed at Baytree Apartments at 107 First Avenue in reference to a crowd of people in the parking lot area.

OCTOBER 14, 2016

  • 1:34 a.m. – A domestic dispute between a husband and wife was reported at Logan Lane Apartments at 544 South Logan Street where the male party, Andrew Allen, requested to be taken to Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeville for evaluation.  After being transported to the hospital and left with staff members Allen reportedly became aggressive and began damaging property resulting in responding Hardeeville Officers returning him to Ridgeland. At 3:19 a.m. Ridgeland Officers were dispatched to a suspicious black male in the roadway at the intersection of South Jacob Smart Boulevard and Langford Street where Allen was found standing on the centerline shouting obscenities at which point he was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.
  • 9:03 p.m. – Ridgeland Officers assisted Jasper County Deputies in responding to a domestic dispute between a male and a female at a residence on Pecan Grove Lane in the Mitchellville Community.
  • 10:06 p.m. – A noise complaint was filed on Shadetree Street in the Carters Mill Estates Community in reference to loud music.
  • 10:13 p.m. – Four suspicious black males in a black Chevy passenger car were reported in the parking lot of the Forest Motel at 10504 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.

  • 2:06 a.m. – A verbal dispute was reported at a residence on West Smith Street after a male subject refused to leave the property when ordered by the homeowner.
  • 7:01 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Carquest Auto Parts Store at 11059 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.
  • 8:49 a.m. – A silver Ford Expedition was involved in a single vehicle collision after striking a barrier post in the parking lot of Harvey’s Grocery Store at 8205 East Main Street.  No injuries were reported.
  • 8:54 a.m. – Valerie Humphrey Owens was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center after being witnessed stealing merchandise from the Dollar General Store at 8123 East Main Street.
  • 12:12 p.m. – An animal complaint was filed on McCormack Avenue in reference to a stray cat roaming the area.
  • 12:46 p.m. – A silver Toyota Avalon was involved in a single vehicle collision after striking a SCDOT hurricane barricade on Highway 17 at the Kato Bay Road intersection.  No injuries were reported.
  • 7:45 p.m. – A gray Mitsubishi Outlander was stopped for speeding on I-95 North around the 23 mile marker where driver Stephen Todd Apple was found to be operating under a suspended North Carolina driver’s license.  He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as Webster’s Towing took possession of the vehicle.
  • 8:23 p.m. – A domestic dispute between a male and a female was reported at a residence on Oakridge North in the Oakridge Trailer Park Community on North Green Street.
  • 8:56 p.m. – A welfare check was conducted on a male subject in the parking lot of Logan Lane Apartments at 544 South Logan Street after a relative became concerned that he may wish to do harm to himself.

  • 2:42 p.m. – A harassment complaint was filed at the Piggly Wiggly Grocery Store at 10847 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.
  • 2:59 p.m. – A civil dispute was reported at a residence on Shadetree Street in the Carters Mill Estates Community regarding a recent eviction.
  • 5:28 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Grayco Hardware & Building Supply Store at 119 Industrial Park Road.
  • 6:34 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 31 mile marker in reference to a brown and white tractor trailer
  • 6:58 p.m. – A suspicious white male was reported on McCormack Avenue.
  • 11:21 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Jasper County Office of Technology at 262 Third Avenue.

OCTOBER 11, 2016

  • 12:08 a.m. – A burglary was reported at the Main Street Barbecue Restaurant at 8084 East Main Street after several cleaning items were discovered missing from a storage shed behind the business bordering East Adams Street.  The incident is said to have occurred on October 10th sometime between 12 a.m. and 9 a.m.
  • 1:05 a.m. – A domestic dispute between a Mother and her son was reported at the Palms Motel at 10735 South Jacob Smart Boulevard ending with the Mother’s boyfriend ejecting Michael Dwayne Robiston Jr., 27 of Tillman SC, out of the room and locking the door.  Responding Officers investigating the incident discovered Robiston to be listed as a wanted person by the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office stemming from two outstanding General Sessions bench warrants at which point he was turned over to the custody of Deputies for transport to the Jasper County Detention Center.  The victim in the domestic dispute declined pursuing charges in the matter.

  • 4:50 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Daniel Defense Manufacturing Facility at 58 Firefly Drive.
  • 5:00 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on East Woodlawn Street.
  • 8:40 a.m. – A civil dispute between a customer and Management was reported at the Boat & RV Megastore at 401 Sycamore Drive in reference to a security deposit.
  • 9:02 a.m. – A black male was reportedly walking South on I-95 around the 17 mile marker after his vehicle broke down.  Responding Officers escorted the subject to exit 8 in Hardeeville.
  • 11:26 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the King of Carts Showroom at 10750 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.
  • 2:21 p.m. – A white 2011 Chrysler 200 bearing South Carolina tag number LVT-231 was reportedly stolen from the parking lot of Harvey’s Grocery Store at 8205 East Main Street at approximately 11 a.m.  Surveillance video of this incident is being reviewed by Investigators.
  • 4:20 p.m. – Jasper County Deputies responding to an assault complaint outside of a residence on Roseland Road discovered one of the parties involved, Adrienne A. Gardner, to be listed as a wanted person by the Ridgeland Police Department.  She was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center where she was served 3 outstanding warrants.  Gardner’s charges stemmed from a July 19th 2016 complaint filed at Logan Lane Apartments at 544 South Logan Street after numerous unauthorized charges in Jasper and Beaufort Counties appeared on the victim’s bank statement. Surveillance video gathered at the Piggly Wiggly Grocery Store at 10847 North Jacob Smart Boulevard showed Gardner using the card to make purchases during 3 separate shopping trips on July 10th, two of which she signed the victim’s signature on the receipts resulting in forgery charges as well as the initial financial transaction card fraud.
  • 4:32 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North around the 10 mile marker in reference to a Fedex tractor trailer.
  • 4:35 p.m. – An ongoing civil dispute was reported at the Econo Lodge Motel at 511 James Taylor Drive in reference to a fence being constructed by a neighboring business separating the two properties.
  • 5:03 p.m. – A burglary was reported at a residence on Honeycomb Lane in the Bees Creek Plantation Community after a homeowner returning from the Hurricane Matthew evacuation at approximately 4 p.m. on October 10th discovered that 2 LG televisions and a Sony Playstation had been stolen from inside of the home.  Evidence collected at the scene has been submitted to the Beaufort County Forensics Laboratory for analysis.
  • 6:33 p.m. – A breach of trust was reported in the parking lot of the Main Street Centre at 8084 East Main Street after a white male riding a bicycle failed to return a set of tools to the victim after borrowing them to allegedly repair a vehicle.
  • 6:42 p.m. – A theft was reported at the Bobops Convenience Store at 8548 Grahamville Road after a customer’s Samsung Galaxy S7 cell phone was stolen when it was accidentally left on the front counter.  A review of surveillance footage showed Lewis Beaton IV, 22 of Ridgeland SC, picking up the phone and placing it in his pocket and leaving the store.  Officers spotted Beaton outside of the business at which time he voluntarily returned the phone to the victim who declined pursuing charges in the matter.

  • 3:32 a.m. – A black Saab was reportedly involved in a single vehicle collision after striking a deer in the roadway in front of the Ridgeland Post Office at 7554 West Main Street.  No injuries were reported.
  • 3:39 a.m. – A welfare check was conducted at the Econo Lodge Motel at 511 James Taylor Drive after a 911 hang up call was received by Jasper County Emergency Services indicating a possible domestic dispute between a male and a female.
  • 3:56 a.m. – A civil dispute between a tenant and Management was reported at the Travelodge Motel at 8216 East Main Street.
  • 4:32 a.m. – A suspicious person report was filed at Baytree Apartments at 107 First Avenue.
  • 7:41 a.m. – A complaint was filed in reference to a tractor trailer left unoccupied in the Harvey’s Grocery Store parking lot at 8205 East Main Street for over a week.
  • 9:38 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on Wiley Street.
  • 10:59 a.m. – A welfare check was conducted on an elderly Hispanic male tenant at the Travelodge Motel at 8216 East Main Street after an out of state caller had not heard from him since Hurricane Matthew.
  • 11:09 a.m. – A welfare check was conducted on a white female pedestrian on Captain Bill Road on top of the I-95 Northbound overpass.
  • 12:33 p.m. – A civil dispute between a female tenant and Management was reported at the Carolina Lodge Motel at 8260 East Main Street regarding payment.
  • 1:28 p.m. – A blue Hyundai Sonata and a black Honda Accord were involved in a collision in the parking lot of the KFC Restaurant at 8146 East Main Street.  No injuries were reported.
  • 2:53 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on Benson Lane.
  • 2:59 p.m. – A civil dispute between a tenant and Management was reported at the Travelodge Motel at 8216 East Main Street regarding the state of their room.
  • 3:45 p.m. – A civil dispute was reported between a customer and Management at the New Hong Kong Restaurant at 8176 East Main Street regarding menu pricing.
  • 4:11 p.m. – A dispute between 2 females was reported at Logan Lane Apartments at 544 South Logan Street after the female complainant attempted to drop off her 10 month old grandson to the child’s Mother who refused to take custody of him.
  • 4:25 p.m. – A female resident of the Ridgeland Weekly Rentals on West Woodlawn Street filed a report that she was robbed at gunpoint by a black male on October 9th at approximately 8:00 p.m. in the parking lot of the Morris Center at 10782 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.  Video footage of this incident is being reviewed by Investigators.
  • 4:34 p.m. – A male subject was reportedly assaulted by a black male in the parking lot of Harvey’s Grocery Store at 8205 East Main Street stemming from an October 5th dispute involving a female acquaintance at the Waffle House Restaurant at 8185 East Main Street.
  • 5:22 p.m. – A domestic dispute between a male and a female was reported at Baytree Apartments at 107 First Avenue with the male party leaving the area in a black Honda passenger car prior to Law Enforcement arrival.  The vehicle was shortly after spotted on Malphrus Street where a traffic stop was initiated at which time driver Tyree Shamon Jenkins, 29 of Ridgeland SC, was found to be listed as a wanted person by the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office stemming from an outstanding General Sessions bench warrant and an outstanding Family Court bench warrant.  He was turned over to the custody of responding Deputies for transport to the Jasper County Detention Center.  The victim in the initial domestic dispute declined pursuing charges in the matter.

  • 5:52 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on Fifth Avenue.
  • 6:27 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North around the 11 mile marker in reference to a gray Ford Crown Victoria.
  • 7:07 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on South Jacob Smart Boulevard.
  • 7:14 p.m. – An assault was reported by a male tenant at the Siesta Motel at 10530 South Jacob Smart Boulevard after he was allegedly struck several times with a hammer by his sister following a verbal dispute.  The victim declined pursuing charges in the matter.
  • 8:30 p.m. – A group of suspicious juveniles was reported in the North Ridge Community.
  • 8:36 p.m. – A reckless driver report was filed on I-95 South around the 27 mile marker in reference to a group three vehicles traveling together.
  • 10:54 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Bobops Convenience Store at 8548 Grahamville Road.
  • 10:55 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Jasper County Courthouse at 265 Russell Street.

OCTOBER 9, 2016

  • 3:15 p.m. – Joquan Mackell Bolden was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center from the parking lot of the Shell Station at 8309 East Main Street after Officers found him falling off of his bicycle and stumbling in the roadway due to being under the influence of illegal narcotics.
  • 4:20 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Carquest Auto Parts Store at 11059 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.
  • 5:51 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on Woods Court.
  • 7:34 p.m. – A welfare check was conducted on a male subject at a residence on Brandon Cove in the North Ridge Community after an out of state relative was unable to get in touch with him following Hurricane Matthew.
  • 8:03 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on Bailey Lane.
  • 8:43 p.m. – A group of juveniles were reportedly causing a disturbance on East Adams Street.
  • 9:06 p.m. – A noise complaint was filed at a residence on West Main Street in reference to loud noises coming from an unknown source outside of the home.
  • 10:23 p.m. – A possible domestic dispute was reported at a residence at the intersection of Azalea Avenue and South Logan Street.

  • 10:20 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on North Railroad Avenue.  Two additional responses occurred at 12:17 p.m. and 2:15 p.m.
  • 3:21 p.m. – A Nissan Pathfinder was forced off of the roadway while traveling North on I-95 at the Captain Bill Road overpass in order to avoid colliding with a red Chevy pickup which was traveling South in the Northbound lanes of travel. The pickup then continued South until the 10 mile marker where the driver crossed the center median using a paved turnaround as Hardeeville Officers attempted a traffic stop.  The driver of the pickup then fled South initiating a vehicle pursuit traveling at 100 mph crossing into the state of Georgia where spike strips were deployed by Georgia State Patrol which disabled the vehicle’s tires forcing the driver to ultimately come to a stop on 95 South a few miles after the state line.  Driver John Fitzgerald Tkacs, 55 of Plant City FL, was then taken into custody without further incident and transported to the Chatham County Jail under charges of reckless driving and speeding.  Warrants were then filed by the Hardeeville Police Department charging him in South Carolina with failure to stop for blue lights/siren, no driver’s license & driving the wrong way on a one way street. There were no injuries reported in the initial vehicle collision in Ridgeland.

    4:45 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on Sailfish Circle in the Carters Mill Estates Community in reference to a blue pickup.

  • 8:50 p.m. – A report of several gunshots being fired was filed at Baytree Apartments at 107 First Avenue.
  • 9:07 p.m. – A report of illegal drug activity was reported at the Quality Inn Motel at 221 James Taylor Drive.
  • 10:24 p.m. – Two open doors were discovered at the Southeast Pyrotechnics Warehouse at 11142 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.
  • 11:13 p.m. – Three suspicious white males were reported behind the Subway Restaurant at 8234 East Main Street.
  • 11:33 p.m. – An open door was discovered at the Main Street Barbecue Restaurant at 8084 East Main Street.

  • 12:14 a.m. – A welfare check was conducted on a male subject in the parking lot of the Dollar General Store at 8123 East Main Street.
  • 9:24 a.m. – An animal complaint was filed in reference to a dog left chained outside of a home on Third Avenue.
  • 11:38 a.m. – A report of illegal drug activity was filed in reference to three black males outside of a residence on East Main Street.
  • 1:29 p.m. – A report was filed of a large white dog wearing a leash roaming the area of Second Avenue and Russell Street.
  • 5:28 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at Harvey’s Grocery Store at 8205 East Main Street.
  • 6:04 p.m. – A welfare check was conducted at a residence on Fifth Avenue after a 911 hang up call was received by Jasper County Emergency Services.

OCTOBER 6, 2016

  • 3:33 a.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 in reference to a vehicle traveling South in the Northbound lanes of travel around the 21 mile marker.
  • 8:31 a.m. – A white Chevy pickup and a blue Buick LeSabre were involved in a collision in the parking lot of the Star Point BP Station at 11122 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.  No injuries were reported.
  • 11:39 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the R&M Small Engine Repair Center at 11211 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.
  • 12:11 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on Brandon Cove in the North Ridge Community.
  • 3:09 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 in reference to a tractor trailer traveling North between Hardeeville and Ridgeland.
  • 4:16 p.m. – A disturbance was reported at the Travelodge Motel at 8216 East Main Street in reference to a possible fight in progress inside of a vacant room.
  • 7:56 p.m. – A lost wallet was discovered at the Fiddler’s Seafood Restaurant at 7738 West Main Street.

OCTOBER 5, 2016

  • 8:25 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Jasper County Courthouse at 265 Russell Street.
  • 9:32 a.m. – A discarded syringe with an exposed needle was discovered on the sidewalk on Grays Highway near the Live Oak Road intersection.
  • 10:17 a.m. – A theft was reported at a residence on Purdy Street after the homeowner discovered that an undisclosed amount of cash had been stolen from inside of their unlocked vehicle sometime during the overnight hours.
  • 1:00 p.m. – A Chevy Silverado and a Nissan Maxima were involved in a collision in the parking lot of the Family Dollar Store at 73 South Green Street.  No injuries were reported.
  • 1:10 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Ridgeland Baptist Church at 1448 Grays Highway.
  • 2:42 p.m. – Officers responded to the Waffle House Restaurant at 8185 East Main Street after a 16 year old female employee was assaulted by a 35 year old coworker.  After gathering statements and evidence Lashanda Renee Darien-Beaton was placed under arrest at which time she began shouting profanities in the parking lot area resulting in an additional charge.  She was transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.
  • 3:01 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on Benson Lane.
  • 3:23 p.m. – A harassment report was filed at the Green Street Storage Facility at 261 South Green Street in reference to a female acquaintance allegedly following the complainant.
  • 3:57 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North around the 21 mile marker in reference to a black Chevy pickup.
  • 5:51 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Kingdom Touch Ministries Church at 6714 Tillman Road.
  • 6:40 p.m. – A group of black males were reportedly firing gunshots in a wooded area between the Logan Lane Apartment Complex and East Main Street before walking East towards the Gulf Station at 8250 East Main Street.  One of the suspects was spotted by a responding Officer in the parking lot of the Carolina Lodge Motel at which time he immediately fled on foot when approached by Law Enforcement.  A short foot pursuit ensued ending between the Subway Restaurant and the Travelodge Motel where Michael Porter Ancrum was apprehended without further incident and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.
  • 6:43 p.m. – A welfare check was conducted at a residence on Oakridge North in the Oakridge Trailer Park Community on North Green Street in reference to a dog being left tied to a front porch after the homeowner evacuated for Hurricane Matthew.

OCTOBER 4, 2016

  • 12:18 a.m. – A welfare check was requested on a female subject driving a blue Chevy Impala after she left the Ridgeland Coin Laundry at 10246 South Jacob Smart Boulevard and failed to return.
  • 6:50 a.m. – A property damage report was filed by a motorist traveling South on I-95 around the 22 mile marker in a white Honda Civic after sustaining damage to the front passenger side of their vehicle from a piece of road debris.  No injuries were reported.
  • 7:03 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Ridgeland Church of Christ at 112 East Wilson Street.
  • 10:31 a.m. – A property damage report was filed by a resident of Shadetree Street in the Carters Mill Estates Community after several of her belongings were allegedly damaged by a roommate stemming from an ongoing dispute between two cohabitating couples.  Officers responded a second time at 12:16 p.m. after a report was received from the same complainant regarding a refrigerator being removed from the home without permission.
  • 3:21 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on North Green Street.
  • 3:36 p.m. – A civil dispute was reported by a customer at Scott’s Automotive at 495 South Green Street.
  • 5:18 p.m. – Officers responded to a report of two males fighting in the roadway on West Smith Street following an argument over a vehicle blocking the driveway of one of the parties involved.  Information and evidence obtained led to the determination that the altercation had been verbal and never turned physical.
  • 5:22 p.m. – A shoplifting was reported at the Piggly Wiggly Grocery Store at 10847 North Jacob Smart Boulevard after John Garfield Malphrus Jr. was witnessed stealing two cases of beer by Management.  Responding Officers found him to be intoxicated when speaking with him in the parking lot area resulting in him being placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.
  • 11:32 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported at Baytree Apartments at 107 First Avenue in reference to a black Ford Explorer traveling at a high rate of speed in the parking lot area with several children present.

OCTOBER 3, 2016

  • 12:32 a.m. – A welfare check was conducted on a 20 year old male at a residence on Brandon Cove in the North Ridge Community after information was received that he may wish to do harm to himself.
  • 8:06 a.m. – A green Dodge Ram pickup was stopped in the King of Carts parking lot at 10750 South Jacob Smart Boulevard after disregarding a stop light at the Main Street intersection where driver Thomas Anthony Damron, 34 of Ridgeland SC, was found to be in possession of a quantity of marijuana.  He was cited for the offenses and assigned a court date prior to leaving the area.
  • 8:39 a.m. – A theft was reported after a complainant’s bank statement revealed that their debit card had been used without permission to pay a utility bill at a residence on East Main Street.
  • 8:48 a.m. – An animal complaint was filed at a residence on First Avenue in reference to a family of stray kittens.
  • 9:08 a.m. – A green 1987 Honda Civic was turned over to Little T’s Towing for removal from the area of Old House Road near the entrance to Good Hope Plantation after being left abandoned on the side of the roadway for more than 72 hours.
  • 10:12 a.m. – A black Galaxy Note cell phone was reported stolen from a staff member at the Dollar General Store at 8123 East Main Street after being left behind an employee’s only area on yesterday’s date prior to 4 p.m.
  • 12:34 p.m. – Officers responded to several reports of a male subject shouting obscenities in the roadway on Second Avenue near the Floyd Street intersection stemming from an ongoing altercation between himself and another male.  Jon Lamar Brantley was shortly after located at Veteran’s Memorial Park on Russell Street where he was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.  He was also placed on trespass notice for the property on Second Avenue at the homeowner’s request.
  • 12:53 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 26 mile marker in reference to a red International flatbed tractor trailer.
  • 1:51 p.m. – A disturbance was reported at the Dollar General Store at 8123 East Main Street in reference to a dispute between a customer and staff.
  • 2:23 p.m. – A tractor trailer and an Acura passenger car were involved in a collision on I-95 South around the 23 mile marker.  No injuries were reported.
  • 4:24 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at Saul’s Funeral Home at 310 West Adams Street.
  • 4:41 p.m. – A scam was reported at a residence on Eleanor Avenue after the complainant received a telephone call from an international number claiming that they had won a free television and car.
  • 10:53 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 28 mile marker in reference to a Fedex tractor trailer.

OCTOBER 2, 2016

  • 12:24 a.m. – A suspicious person was reported outside of a residence on West Main Street.
  • 2:11 a.m. – An attempted robbery was reported in the parking lot of the KFC Restaurant at 8146 East Main Street.
  • 9:05 a.m. – A loitering complaint was filed at the Waffle House Restaurant at 8185 East Main Street in reference to a male subject sleeping inside of the business.
  • 9:21 a.m. – A suspicious vehicle was reported at D&R Auto at 7622 West Main Street.
  • 9:59 a.m. – A verbal dispute was reported between two married couples living together at a residence on Shadetree Street in the Carters Mill Estates Community.  Officers responded to the same home a second time at 2:08 p.m. regarding an alleged assault between the two male household members.
  • 10:58 a.m. – A wallet was recovered by Town Employees cleaning the West Main Street area following the Gopher Hill Festival.  It was turned over to the Ridgeland Police Department pending return to the rightful owner.
  • 12:01 p.m. – A theft was reported by SCE&G regarding a residence on Firefly Drive in Ridgeland.  Information obtained provided that a stolen electric meter had been installed at the residence in question between June 21st and September 29th 2016 which was then used to provide electricity to the home totalling a loss to SCE&G in excess of $1000.  The meter was then removed by employees after receiving an alert and a lock placed on the electrical box. Workers later received a second alert on today’s date, (10/2), from the same location where they again found another stolen meter had been installed to provide electricity.  Information regarding this incident involving suspect Darian Anton Solomon, 23 of Ridgeland SC, has been forwarded to the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office.

  • 2:20 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 27 mile marker in reference to a white Chevy sedan.
  • 4:48 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on Grays Highway at the Malphrus Road intersection in reference to a silver Nissan Xterra.
  • 6:50 p.m. – A welfare check was conducted on a male subject at a residence on Colony Drive in the Bees Creek Plantation Community following a 911 call from a third party stating that the homeowner may have been injured.
  • 11:11 p.m. – A suspicious vehicle was reported on I-95 North around the 22 mile marker.

OCTOBER 1, 2016

  • 12:05 a.m. – A reckless driver was reported on Old House Road in reference to a black Ford Crown Victoria.
  • 2:22 a.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North around the 14 mile marker in reference to a small blue passenger car.
  • 8:15 a.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North around the 21 mile marker in reference to a white and silver tractor trailer.
  • 8:44 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Palmetto Isotopes Pharmacy at 405 Old House Road.
  • 11:42 a.m. – A domestic dispute between a male and a female was reported at a residence on Brandon Cove in the North Ridge Community after the male party began beating on the front door of the home allegedly while armed.  He left the area prior to Law Enforcement arrival.
  • 12:51 p.m. – A Toyota Rav4 was involved in a single vehicle collision on I-95 South around the 22 mile marker after the driver lost control and struck the center median guard wires.  No injuries were reported.
  • 1:52 p.m. – A civil dispute regarding a red Buick blocking a driveway was reported at Ridge Point Apartments at 669 North Green Street.
  • 3:23 p.m. – A Dodge Durango and a GMC Envoy were involved in a collision in the parking lot of the Family Dollar Store at 73 South Green Street.  No injuries were reported.
  • 7:34 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 33 mile marker in reference to a white SUV.
  • 7:47 p.m. – A suspicious orange motorcycle was reported in the parking lot of the Quality Inn Motel at 221 James Taylor Drive.
  • 8:36 p.m. – A loitering complaint was filed at the Piggly Wiggly Grocery Store at 10847 North Jacob Smart Boulevard in reference to a black male and black female.
  • 9:34 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on West Main Street.
  • 9:43 p.m. – An assault was reported at the Piggly Wiggly Grocery Store at 10847 North Jacob Smart Boulevard after a male employee asked a black male who was sitting on top of a business trash can to move in order for him to empty it. The male then got in the employees face brandishing a knife and stated “make me” at which time the employee immediately knocked the knife from his hand.. The suspect then picked it up from the ground and fled the area on foot running towards Green Street.
  • 10:29 p.m. – An assault was reported at the McDonald’s Restaurant at 8548 Grahamville Road in reference to a customer allegedly threatening a staff member after being issued a refund for a delay in their order.  Lonnell Deddrick Darien, 41, and Shamain Evelyn Darien, 37 of Pineland SC, were both ultimately placed on trespass notice for the business property at Management’s request.
  • 10:57 p.m. – An animal complaint was filed at the Ridgeland Post Office at 7554 West Main Street in reference to a family of stray kittens.
  • 11:11 p.m. –  A report of possible gunshots being fired was filed on Shadetree Street in the Carters Mill Estates Community.
  • 11:13 p.m. – A suspicious vehicle was reported at Turpin Park at 901 North Logan Street.
  • 11:54 p.m. – A verbal domestic dispute between a male and a female was reported at a residence on Captain Bill Road.
