THE FOLLOWING INCIDENTS ARE AN ACCOUNT OF CALLS AND CASES RESPONDED TO BY OFFICERS OF THE RIDGELAND POLICE DEPARTMENT. THESE CASES ARE CLOSED OR CURRENTLY UNDER INVESTIGATION. SEPTEMBER 30, 2016

  • 12:16 a.m. – Charles Brown was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center after being found walking in the middle of the lane of travel on Sisters Ferry Road while intoxicated.
  • 2:10 a.m. – A suspicious vehicle was reported in the parking lot of the Citgo Station at 107 Sycamore Drive.
  • 6:06 a.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 28 mile marker in reference to a Chevy pickup.
  • 6:22 a.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 38 mile marker in reference to a silver Toyota Corolla.
  • 7:41 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Ridgeland Boys & Girls Club at 913 Grays Highway.
  • 9:40 a.m. – A silver Mazda was stopped for a lane change violation on I-95 South at the exit 21 interchange where driver Idelfonso Areses, 29 of Hialeah FL, was found to be in possession of a quantity of marijuana as well as operating under a suspended Florida driver’s license stemming from failure to pay traffic ticket violations.  He was cited for the offenses and assigned a court date prior to leaving the area.
  • 4:10 p.m. – A harassment complaint was filed at the Piggly Wiggly Grocery Store at 10847 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.
  • 5:08 p.m. – Jasper County Deputies responding to a welfare check at a residence on Carolina Wren Drive discovered Romoan Elliott Chester to be listed as a wanted person by the Ridgeland Police Department.  He was detained without incident and turned over to Ridgeland Officers for transport to the Jasper County Detention Center.  Chester’s charges stemmed from a May 18th 2016 incident at Harvey’s Grocery Store at 8205 East Main Street where he was arrested and charged after being witnessed stealing store items by an off duty Jasper County Sheriff’s Deputy.  He then failed to appear in Ridgeland Municipal Court to answer to the charge on August 22nd 2016 where he was found guilty during a trial in absence and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
  • 5:56 p.m. – Two passenger cars were reportedly racing one another on I-95 South around the 26 mile marker.
  • 7:00 p.m. – Three bicycles stolen during a previously unreported incident at a residence on Promise Way were discovered abandoned in a wooded area bordering the victim’s neighborhood and the Ridgeland Cemetery.
  • 7:00 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 30 mile marker in reference to a black Ford F150 pickup.
  • 8:38 p.m. – A large group of suspicious juveniles was reported at Turpin Park at 901 North Logan Street.
  • 9:46 p.m. – A suspicious event was reported at a residence on West Adams Street after the homeowner discovered signs that their personal belongings had been rummaged through.  No items were reported missing.
  • 9:47 p.m. – A suspicious red Ford Mustang was reported on Bailey Lane.
  • 10:26 p.m. – A group of suspicious males was reported in the parking lot of the Travelodge Motel at 8216 East Main Street.
  • 10:57 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 33 mile marker in reference to a blue Jeep Wrangler.
  • 11:06 p.m. – A group of suspicious persons was reported at Turpin Park at 901 North Logan Street.
  • 11:38 p.m. – Two suspicious males were reported at Turpin Park at 901 North Logan Street.

SEPTEMBER 29, 2016

  • 12:52 a.m. – A loitering complaint was filed in reference to a black male subject at the McDonald’s Restaurant at 8548 Grahamville Road.
  • 3:31 a.m. – A welfare check was conducted on Grays Highway after a 911 hang up call was received by Jasper County Emergency Services.
  • 4:10 a.m. – A suspicious person report was filed at Baytree Apartments at 107 First Avenue.
  • 4:40 a.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 33 mile marker in reference to a white SUV.
  • 6:24 a.m. – A black Toyota Corolla was involved in a single vehicle collision on Highway 336 after striking a deer in the roadway near the Tarboro Road intersection.  No injuries were reported.
  • 8:31 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Jasper County Courthouse at 265 Russell Street.
  • 8:54 a.m. – A civil dispute was reported in reference to a semi truck being parked at the intersection of North Green and Smith Street.
  • 9:36 a.m. – A black Nissan Altima and a silver Toyota Avalon were involved in a collision at the intersection of North Jacob Smart Boulevard and East Main Street.  An elderly female passenger from the Avalon was transported by EMS to Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeville for treatment.

  • 9:47 a.m. – A possible squatter was reportedly living inside of a vacant home on East Main Street.
  • 12:01 p.m. – A theft was reported at the Henderson Law Office at 690 North Green Street after 2 black male juveniles and 1 white male juvenile allegedly stole a Kindle Fire tablet from a desk in the front office and then fled the area on foot. Surveillance video is being reviewed for suspect identification and pending charges.
  • 12:12 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Ridgeland Alternative School at 456 Grays Highway.
  • 12:49 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on Oak Plantation Drive in the Oak Plantation Commons Community.
  • 1:50 p.m. – A trespassing complaint was filed by a resident of Baytree Apartments at 107 First Avenue in reference to an ongoing dispute between 2 females.
  • 3:55 p.m. – A welfare check was conducted on a female occupant reportedly sleeping inside of a white Ford Escape in the parking lot of the Short Stop BP Station at 10728 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.
  • 3:58 p.m. – A purple Polar GT bicycle was reported stolen from outside of the Jasper County Board of Disabilities Office at 1512 Grays Highway.
  • 5:58 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on West Wilson Street.
  • 6:16 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North around the 18 mile marker in reference to a silver Cadillac sedan.
  • 8:08 p.m. – A suspicious male subject was reported in front of a residence on Second Avenue.
  • 11:18 p.m. – A suspicious white Jeep was reported on West Main Street.
  • 11:38 p.m. – A large spool of copper wiring was discovered in the Northbound lane of travel on Sisters Ferry Road at the McCormack Avenue intersection.  The property was removed from the area by J&M Towing and later returned to Centurylink employees.

SEPTEMBER 28, 2016

  • 6:30 a.m. – Thaita Katherine Jones turned herself in to Ridgeland Officers at the Jasper County Detention Center at 12008 North Jacob Smart Boulevard in reference to an outstanding warrant issued against her stemming from an August 31st 2016 report filed at the Pizza Bella Restaurant at 8196 East Main Street where she was captured on surveillance video stealing store items during her shift.
  • 8:15 a.m. – A property damage report was filed at a residence on Second Avenue in reference to several flowerpots being overturned as well as window screens being cut sometime during the overnight hours.
  • 1:32 p.m. – Clinton Green was spotted riding a bicycle at the intersection of West Main Street and North Railroad Avenue where he was place under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center in reference to an outstanding warrant.  Green’s charges stemmed from a March 30th 2016 incident at the intersection of West Main and North Green Street where he was arrested and charged after being found intoxicated and stumbling in the roadway.  He then failed to answer to the charge in Ridgeland Municipal Court on April 25th where he was found guilty during a trial in absence and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
  • 4:24 p.m. – A black Nissan Altima was stopped for speeding on I-95 North around the 23 mile marker where driver Nicholas Robert Mclemore was found to be operating under a suspended South Carolina driver’s license.  He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as Hook Ups Towing took possession of the vehicle.
  • 5:28 p.m. – A small child was reportedly riding unsecured in a black Ford Escape at the intersection of North Jacob Smart Boulevard and East Wilson Street.
  • 7:15 p.m. – An assault was reported at a residence at Heron Crossing Apartments at 72 Heron Crossing Drive where two female subjects both accused one another of a physical confrontation stemming from an ongoing dispute. Neither party involved wished to pursue charges in the matter.
  • 8:16 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the St. Stephen’s United Methodist Church on East Main Street.
  • 9:01 p.m. – A dispute between Management and a tenant was reported at the Travelodge Motel at 8216 East Main Street.
  • 10:17 p.m. – An animal complaint was filed on North Green Street in reference to a barking dog outside of a neighboring residence.
  • 11:38 p.m. – A welfare check was conducted at the Carolina Lodge Motel at 8260 East Main Street after a 911 hang up call was received by Jasper County Emergency Services.

SEPTEMBER 27, 2016

  • 10:30 a.m. – Ridgeland Officers assisted Jasper County Deputies at the Siesta Motel at 10530 South Jacob Smart Boulevard where Christopher Lamont Wright, 32 of Ridgeland SC, was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center in reference to an outstanding Family Court bench warrant.

  • 11:52 a.m. – An animal complaint was filed at a residence on Owens Street in reference to a stray cat.
  • 1:10 p.m. – A welfare check was conducted on a black male subject lying by the roadway at the intersection of West Main and North Jasper Street where Officers discovered Nathaniel Burrison, 56 of Ridgeland SC, intoxicated and passed out. He was transported by EMS to Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeville for treatment.
  • 7:16 p.m. – A complaint was filed in reference to a dog left inside of a vehicle in the parking lot of Harvey’s Grocery Store at 8205 East Main Street.
  • 8:01 p.m. – A suspicious person was reported in the wooded area bordering the Ridgeland Correctional Institution at 5 Correctional Road.

SEPTEMBER 26, 2016

  • 8:21 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Jasper County Courthouse at 265 Russell Street.
  • 9:28 a.m. – A black Jeep Patriot was stopped for speeding on I-95 South around the 21 mile marker where Adam Thompson, 36 of Sandusky OH, was found to be in possession of a quantity of marijuana.  He was cited for the offense and assigned a court date prior to leaving the area.
  • 12:30 p.m. – An animal complaint was filed at the Star Point BP Station at 11122 North Jacob Smart Boulevard in reference to a stray kitten in the parking lot area.
  • 12:47 p.m. – A verbal domestic dispute between a male and female was reported in the parking lot of the Citgo Station at 107 Sycamore Drive.
  • 4:56 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 28 mile marker in reference to a black Toyota Camry.
  • 5:46 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on Wiley Street.
  • 7:52 p.m. – A child custody dispute was reported at a residence on East Wilson Street.
  • 8:19 p.m. – A dispute between two roommates was reported at a residence in the Carters Mill Estates Community.

SEPTEMBER 25, 2016

  • 2:53 a.m. – A blue Honda Civic was stopped for speeding and a damaged windshield violation on I-95 South around the 22 mile marker where driver Jesus Francisco Gamez-Cura was found to be operating without a driver’s license as well as being in possession of an open container of beer.  He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as Scott’s Automotive took possession of the vehicle.
  • 5:32 a.m. – A welfare check was conducted at the Plantation Inn Motel at 11433 North Jacob Smart Boulevard after an open line 911 call was received by Jasper County Emergency Services.
  • 5:39 a.m. – A reckless driver was reported at the intersection of Highway 278 and Morgandollar Road in reference to a blue sedan.
  • 8:35 a.m. – A suspicious unoccupied tractor trailer was reported on Highway 462 at the Zion Oak Grove Baptist Church.
  • 9:03 a.m. – A Hyundai Santa Fe was involved in a single vehicle collision on I-95 North around the 20 mile marker after a tire blow out caused the driver to lose control and overturn.  No injuries were reported.

  • 1:46 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 27 mile marker in reference to a tractor trailer.
  • 2:21 p.m. – A verbal domestic dispute between a male and female was reported at the La Economica Store at 10822 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.
  • 3:09 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Hargray Storage Facility at 308 North Railroad Avenue.
  • 4:27 p.m. – Ridgeland Officers assisted Jasper County Deputies at the EZ Stop IV Station at 80 Blue Heron Drive where Dwight Christopher Crosby, 33 of Ridgeland SC, was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center in reference to an outstanding Family Court bench warrant.

  • 7:35 p.m. – Keith Brian Low, 45 of Ridgeland SC, was placed on trespass notice for the business property of the Quality Inn Motel at 221 James Taylor Drive at Management’s request following several complaints of him approaching customers and passers by with his young son and asking for money in the parking lot area.

  • 9:48 p.m. – A theft was reported at the Dollar General Store at 8123 East Main Street where a black male fled the area on foot running towards East Adams Street after being witnessed stealing store items by Management.  Surveillance video is being reviewed for suspect identification and pending charges.

SEPTEMBER 24, 2016

  • 2:02 a.m. – Ridgeland Officers assisted Jasper County Deputies in responding to an open line 911 call at a residence on Captain Bill Road involving several subjects arguing.  Responding Officers made contact with Jarrod Lamar Spann, 38 of Ridgeland SC, in front of the home shouting and refusing to leave despite being previously placed on trespass notice for the property.  He was then placed under arrest by Deputies at which point he attempted to resist but was ultimately restrained without further incident and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center under charges of public disorderly conduct, trespassing after notice & resisting arrest.

  • 5:39 a.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North around the 15 mile marker in reference to a white box truck.
  • 7:52 a.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 32 mile marker in reference to a gray tractor trailer.
  • 8:12 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on East Wilson Street.
  • 10:57 a.m. – A property damage report was filed at a residence on South Logan Street after the homeowner discovered a small dent on the front of their black Nissan Altima.
  • 11:23 a.m. – A white male pushing a baby stroller from a residence on Hagin Drive was reportedly opening mailboxes and rummaging through their contents at homes on North Jasper Street.
  • 1:09 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 22 mile marker in reference to an orange tractor trailer.
  • 2:47 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported at the intersection of Tillman and Long Road  in reference to a gray Jeep Wrangler.  The vehicle was soon after stopped at 3:10 p.m. for numerous moving violations on West Smith Street where driver Michael Eric Hutcheson was found to be in possession of an open container.  He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as the vehicle was left secured in the driveway of his residence on West Smith Street.
  • 5:49 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North around the 18 mile marker in reference to a black Cadillac.
  • 5:53 p.m. – A purple Cadillac CTS was involved in a single vehicle collision on I-95 North at the 22 interchange exit ramp.  No injuries were reported.

  • 6:53 p.m. – A suspicious white male was reported on West Frontage Road.
  • 6:56 p.m. – A fight in progress was reported at the KFC Restaurant at 8146 East Main Street involving several males and females.  The incident reportedly originated outside of a residence on East Adams Street and then carried over into the restaurant parking lot where employees assisted in separating the parties involved until Law Enforcement arrival.
  • 9:23 p.m. – A suspicious black male was reported at the Boat & RV Megastore at 401 Sycamore Driver.
  • 10:22 p.m. – An assault was reported by a male subject alleging that he had been pulled off of the moped he was riding by a group of persons outside of a residence on East Adams Street.
  • 10:27 p.m. – Two suspicious males were reported in the parking lot of the Quality Inn Motel at 221 James Taylor Drive.

SEPTEMBER 23, 2016

  • 6:14 a.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 28 mile marker in reference to a Fedex tractor trailer.
  • 7:29 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Ridgeland Boys & Girls Club at 913 Grays Highway.
  • 10:46 a.m. – A tan Ford Explorer was involved in a single vehicle collision in the parking lot of the Short Stop BP Station at 10728 South Jacob Smart Boulevard after the driver lost control and struck the side of the building.  No injuries were reported.
  • 12:43 p.m. – A group of suspicious subjects was reported in the wooded area behind the Siesta Motel at 10530 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.
  • 1:07 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported at the intersection of Main Street and North Jacob Smart Boulevard in reference to a logging truck.
  • 1:27 p.m. – A suspicious white male was reported at the Shell Station at 8309 East Main Street.
  • 3:07 p.m. – A previously unreported hit and run collision allegedly occurred earlier in the afternoon in front of the Ridgeland Post Office at 7554 West Main Street. No injuries were reported.
  • 9:56 p.m. – A silver Toyota Camry was stopped for speeding on I-95 North around the 23 mile marker where driver Diego Santiago Hernandez was found to be operating without a driver’s license.  He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as the vehicle was released to a licensed passenger.
  • 10:01 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on Highway 17 in reference to a white Ford F150 pickup traveling North between Hardeeville and Ridgeland.
  • 10:52 p.m. – A theft was reported at the Econo Lodge Motel at 511 James Taylor Drive after a tenant removed the door latch from a rented room and left the area. Surveillance footage is being reviewed for pending charges.
  • 11:10 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North around the 21 mile marker in reference to a silver pickup.
  • 11:13 p.m. – A domestic dispute between a male and a female was reported at Baytree Apartments at 107 First Avenue.

SEPTEMBER 22, 2016

  • 1:02 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the McDonald’s Restaurant at 8548 Grahamville Road where an unsecured entry door was discovered.  The building was found to be empty with no items missing and no signs of criminal activity.
  • 2:26 a.m. – A suspicious black male and white female were reported at Turpin Park at 901 North Logan Street.
  • 3:44 a.m. – A theft was reported at a residence at Baytree Apartments at 107 First Avenue after several kitchen items were discovered missing.
  • 9:57 a.m. – Officers responding to a report of a suspicious male behind the Ridgeland Boys & Girls Club at 913 Grays Highway discovered Jamie Simmons, 17 of Ridgeland SC, to be in possession of a quantity of marijuana.  He was cited for the offense and assigned a court date prior to leaving the area.
  • 10:56 a.m. – A counterfeit $20 bill was found by staff members at the Travelodge Motel at 8216 East Main Street.
  • 12:05 p.m. – A white Chevy Tahoe was stopped for speeding on Sycamore Drive where driver Shaiheem Lajuan Beaton was found to be operating without a driver’s license as passenger Devante Dontrez Frost was found to be listed as a wanted person by the Ridgeland Police Department in reference to an outstanding warrant as well as being in possession of a quantity of crack cocaine.  Both were placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as J&M Towing took possession of the vehicle.  Frost’s outstanding warrant stemmed from an April 29th 2016 incident at the Palms Motel at 10530 South Jacob Smart Boulevard where he was placed on trespass notice for the business property after several complaints of him being armed with a handgun in the parking lot area.  He was later arrested following a shooting incident at the same location on May 3rd 2016 after he attempted to flee from Officers while carrying two handguns, one of which was listed as stolen by the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office.  He was found guilty of the trespassing charge in Ridgeland Municipal Court on June 13th and placed on a time payment plan to settle the court ordered fines which he failed to comply with resulting in a warrant being issued for his arrest.
  • 1:53 p.m. – A civil dispute was reported at the Siesta Motel at 10530 South Jacob Smart Boulevard in reference to a tenant’s complaint regarding the state of their room.
  • 8:39 p.m. – A dispute between two females was reported at a residence on Oakridge North in the Oakridge Trailer Park Community on North Green Street.
  • 9:31 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North around the 16 mile marker in reference to a silver Dodge pickup.
  • 9:57 p.m. – A red Honda Civic was stopped for a failure to dim headlights violation in the parking lot of the Bank of Walterboro at 8058 East Main Street where driver Isaac Miguel Reyes was found to be operating under the influence of alcohol as well as having no driver’s license.  He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as Webster’s Towing took possession of the vehicle.
  • 10:45 p.m. – Officers responded to a suspicious Jeep in the parking lot of the Econo Lodge Motel at 511 James Taylor Drive where Jamie Craig Lamon, 29 of Early Branch SC, was found sleeping inside of the vehicle.  He was ultimately placed on trespass notice for the business property at Management’s request.

SEPTEMBER 21, 2016

  • 2:39 a.m. A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 20 mile marker in reference to a gray tanker truck.
  • 6:06 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Harvey’s Grocery Store at 8205 East Main Street.
  • 9:44 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on Eleanor Avenue.
  • 10:02 a.m. – An unlocked door was discovered at an unoccupied business office on South Railroad Avenue.
  • 1:22 p.m. – A theft was reported by a Jacksonville NC resident in reference to his burgundy 1987 Buick Regal being left in the parking lot of the Wendy’s Restaurant at 8480 Grahamville Road in Ridgeland on September 10th after suffering an engine malfunction making it immobile.  The vehicle was last seen being towed from the business property on September 17th.  Surveillance video is being reviewed for suspect identification and pending charges.
  • 5:15 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on Old House Road near the Willis Drive intersection in reference to a gray Ford Taurus.
  • 9:50 p.m. – Two suspicious pickups were reported in the parking lot of the Ridgeland Baptist Church at 1448 Grays Highway.

SEPTEMBER 20, 2016

  • 6:42 a.m. – A black Cadillac Escalade left unlocked outside of a residence on Great Swamp Road was entered sometime during the overnight hours with no items being reported stolen.  Surveillance video is being reviewed for suspect identification and pending charges.
  • 8:02 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Main Street Pharmacy at 7752 West Main Street.
  • 8:34 a.m. – A verbal dispute between two males was reported in the parking lot of the El Cheapo Station at 11033 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.
  • 9:27 a.m. – A red Nissan Murano was stopped for speeding on I-95 North around the 23 mile marker where driver Christopher D. Youmans was found to be operating under a suspended Michigan driver’s license stemming from failure to pay reinstatement fees.  He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as the vehicle was released to a licensed passenger.
  • 12:01 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 in reference to a black pickup traveling North between Hardeeville and Ridgeland.
  • 1:16 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 28 mile marker in reference to a red tractor trailer.
  • 4:06 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North around the 16 mile marker in reference to a tractor trailer.
  • 6:24 p.m. – A blue and black Ford F150 pickup left unlocked outside of a residence on Shadetree Street in the Carters Mill Estates Community was entered sometime during the overnight hours resulting in the theft of a radar detector and a GPS navigation unit.
  • 6:36 p.m. – A red pickup carrying children in the open bed area was reportedly traveling North on I-95 around the 18 mile marker.
  • 7:14 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on Highway 17 in reference to a gray pickup traveling North between Hardeeville and Ridgeland.
  • 9:15 p.m. – A white male was reportedly asking customers and passers by for money in the parking lot of the Quality Inn Motel at 221 James Taylor Drive.
  • 9:53 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 25 mile marker in reference to a tractor trailer.

  • 12:54 a.m. – Ridgeland Officers traveled to the Jasper County Detention Center at 12008 North Jacob Smart Boulevard in service of two outstanding warrants against inmate Kwatema Shamonde Doctor following her arrest by South Carolina Highway Patrol during a traffic stop on I-95 North at the 25 mile marker where she was charged with driving under suspension 3rd, providing false information to Police & a child restraint violation.  Doctor’s outstanding warrants stemmed from a February 3rd 2015 traffic stop in the parking lot of the Piggly Wiggly Grocery Store at 10847 North Jacob Smart Boulevard where she was arrested and charged for disregarding a traffic control device and driving under suspension 2nd as well as being listed as a wanted person by the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office for a previous driving under suspension conviction.  She then failed to appear in Ridgeland Municipal Court to answer to the charges on March 2nd 2015 where she was found guilty during a trial in absence and warrants were issued for her arrest.
  • 7:17 a.m. – A Hispanic male was reportedly attempting to stop vehicles in the lane of travel at the I-95 exit 21 interchange Southbound entrance ramp.
  • 7:38 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Ridgeland Boys & Girls Club at 913 Grays Highway.
  • 8:57 a.m. – A silver Chevy Malibu was stopped for a lane change violation on I-95 North around the 21 mile marker where driver Anthony Ronkeith Pittman, 37 of Hubert NC, was found to be in possession of a quantity of marijuana.  He was cited for the offense and assigned a court date prior to leaving the area.
  • 12:45 p.m. – A white male was reportedly walking out into traffic in front of the South State Bank at 10671 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.
  • 1:21 p.m. – A civil complaint was filed at the Beauty World Store at 8205 East Main Street in reference to subjects throwing garbage into the business’ private dumpster.
  • 1:36 p.m. – A theft was reported by an employee at the King of Carts Showroom at 10750 South Jacob Smart Boulevard after several fraudulent charges appeared on his bank statement having occurred on September 17th at several locations in and around Ridgeland.  Surveillance video is being reviewed for suspect identification and pending charges.
  • 2:43 p.m. – A red Jeep and a black Nissan Altima were involved in a collision at the intersection of Grays Highway and Live Oak Road.  No injuries were reported.
  • 5:23 p.m. – Two black males were reportedly engaged in a fight in the roadway at the intersection of Old House Road and Highway 462.
  • 8:52 p.m. – A white female was reportedly causing a disturbance and arguing with employees at the Waffle House Restaurant at 8185 East Main Street.  She left the business prior to Law Enforcement arrival.
  • 9:44 p.m. – A verbal domestic dispute between a male and a female was reported at a residence on Shadetree Street in the Carters Mill Estates Community.  The female party left of her own accord prior to the responding Officer’s departure.
  • 10:14 p.m. – A report of several gunshots being fired was filed at Baytree Apartments at 107 First Avenue.

SEPTEMBER 18, 2016

  • 3:12 a.m. – Keandre Hakeim Frazier was arrested by Jasper County Deputies after being found concealing a loaded Springfield XD-40 handgun inside of Club Bubbalees at 955 Kings Highway in Yemassee SC.  He was then transported to the Jasper County Detention Center where he was found to be listed as a wanted person by the Ridgeland Police Department in reference to outstanding warrants stemming from an August 22nd 2016 domestic dispute in the parking lot of Logan Lane Apartments at 544 South Logan Street where he punched and choked a pregnant female carrying his child before breaking her cell phone and fleeing the area driving a tan Honda Accord. 
  • 11:06 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on Eleanor Avenue.
  • 3:51 p.m. – A white Toyota Prius and a burgundy Nissan Rogue were involved in a collision on East Main Street.  No injuries were reported.
  • 5:55 p.m. – A child custody dispute between a Mother and Grandmother involving a 2 year old was reported at the Carolina Lodge Motel at 8260 East Main Street.
  • 10:09 p.m. – A red Volkswagen Passat was stopped for several defective lighting violations as well as displaying no tag at the intersection of East Main and North Logan Street where driver Cesar Garcia Servin was found to be operating under a suspended South Carolina driver’s license stemming from a cancellation of insurance coverage.  Further investigation revealed the South Carolina tag number registered to the vehicle to be under a state of suspension as well at which time Servin was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as A-1 Towing took possession of the vehicle.
  • 10:40 p.m. – A property damage report was filed at Baytree Apartments at 107 First Avenue in reference to someone puncturing the tire of a white Dodge Nitro belonging to the complainant.

SEPTEMBER 17, 2016

  • 12:11 a.m. – A white Chevy Impala and a burgundy Freightliner tractor trailer were involved in a collision on I-95 at the exit 21 interchange Southbound entrance ramp.  No injuries were reported.
  • 9:47 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Palmetto Veterinary Hospital at 409 South Green Street.
  • 1:38 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 in reference to a white Chevy pickup traveling North between Hardeeville and Ridgeland.
  • 1:45 p.m. – A report of a white female asking people to sell her narcotics was filed at Logan Lane Apartments at 544 South Logan Street.  Responding Officers made contact with Elizabeth English Lowther who was then placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center in reference to an outstanding warrant issued against her stemming from a September 16th assault at the same location.
  • 6:45 p.m. – A domestic dispute between a male and his 21 year old stepson occurred at the Plantation Inn Motel at 11433 North Jacob Smart Boulevard. Responding Officers investigating the incident ultimately placed John A. Varellie under arrest as he was shouting obscenities and threats.  He then attempted to cause damage to the patrol vehicle windows while being transported to the Jasper County Detention Center resulting in an additional charge.
  • 8:53 p.m. – A white male driving a silver Jeep with a black convertible top reportedly spit at another customer in the drive thru lane of the Dairy Queen Restaurant at 80 Blue Heron Drive.
  • 9:15 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North around the 16 mile marker in reference to a gray Jeep Wrangler.  Officers soon after spotted the vehicle pulling into the truck parking area around the 17 mile marker where the driver exited and began urinating outside of the vehicle.  Officers then made contact with Michael Eric Hutcheson who was found to be in possession of an open container of alcohol at which point he was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as Hook Ups Towing took possession of the vehicle.

SEPTEMBER 16, 2016

  • 2:26 a.m. – Ridgeland Officers assisted Jasper County Deputies in responding to a welfare check at a residence on Apple Blossom Lane in the Mitchellville Community after a 911 hang up call was received by Jasper County Emergency Services.
  • 7:27 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Ridgeland Boys & Girls Club at 913 Grays Highway.
  • 9:05 a.m. – A Hispanic male with a female and two children in a white 4 door passenger car was reportedly attempting to sell jewelry to customers and passers by in the parking lot of the McDonald’s Restaurant at 8548 Grahamville Road.
  • 10:23 a.m. – A black male was reportedly asking customers and passers by for money in the parking lot of the Short Stop BP Station at 10728 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.
  • 10:29 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Ridgeland Boys & Girls Club at 913 Grays Highway.
  • 10:53 a.m. – An animal complaint was filed at a residence on First Avenue in reference to a stray Beagle on the complainant’s property.
  • 12:12 p.m. – A black male was reportedly causing a disturbance and arguing with employees inside of the Harvey’s Grocery Store at 8205 East Main Street.
  • 2:20 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 37 mile marker in reference to a green Ford Expedition.
  • 3:53 p.m. – A harassment complaint was filed at a residence on Shadetree Street in the Carters Mill Estates Community in reference to an ongoing dispute between 2 females.
  • 7:21 p.m. – A blue and white Yamaha 4 wheeler was stopped on East Wilson Street at the intersection of the Blue Heron Nature Trail where driver Albert Gerald Heyward III was found to be operating with no insurance coverage on the vehicle.  While speaking with Officers and waiting to be issued a citation Heyward began making suspicious movements reaching towards his waistband at which point he was ordered to place his hands on the patrol vehicle to ensure the safety of the Officers.  Heyward then began actively resisting but was ultimately detained without further incident at which point he was found to be in possession of a loaded Glock 40 caliber handgun concealed in his waistband.  A check of his criminal record revealed that he is a convicted violent felon prohibited from possessing a firearm or ammunition at which point he was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as Little T’s Towing took possession of the vehicle.
  • 7:31 p.m. – An assault was reported at Logan Lane Apartments at 544 South Logan Street after an intoxicated white female struck the female victim in front of her residence.  An affidavit has been filed against Elizabeth English Lowther, 34 of Ridgeland SC, charging her with assault & battery 3rd.

  • 9:50 p.m. – A report of missing prescription medication was filed at a residence on Shadetree Street in the Carters Mill Estates Community.
  • 10:49 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 21 mile marker in reference to a white tractor trailer.
  • 11:19 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North around the 17 mile marker in reference to a gray Chevy Tahoe.
  • 11:26 p.m. – A black Jeep Liberty was stopped in the KFC parking lot at 8146 East Main Street after Patrol Officers observed numerous multi-colored flashing lights activated underneath the vehicle.  Driver George Singleton was ultimately found to be operating under the influence of alcohol at which point he was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as Scott’s Automotive took possession of the vehicle.

  • 1:00 a.m. – A suspicious vehicle was reported at the intersection of East Main Street and Sycamore Drive.
  • 2:30 a.m. – A suspicious burgundy Buick was reported in the parking lot of the Wendy’s Restaurant at 8480 Grahamville Road.
  • 6:24 a.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 34 mile marker in reference to a silver 2 door passenger car.
  • 8:00 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the New Hong Kong Restaurant at 8176 East Main Street.
  • 9:04 a.m. – A civil dispute was reported at the Quality Inn Motel at 221 James Taylor Drive in reference to work performed by a landscaping crew at a neighboring business.
  • 10:03 a.m. – A company owned Ford F250 pickup was reportedly left abandoned in a field by a recently terminated employee behind the Boat & RV Megastore at 401 Sycamore Drive.
  • 10:16 a.m. – A male subject was reportedly sleeping outside of the Headquarters Salon at 10953 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.
  • 10:50 a.m. – A theft was reported at the intersection of North Jacob Smart Boulevard and Third Avenue after a black male stole a Husqvarna trimmer from the back of a pickup and fled the area running towards the Piggly Wiggly Grocery Store where he placed the item in a row of bushes.  It was soon after recovered and returned to the rightful owner.
  • 12:58 p.m. – Two tractor trailers were reportedly impeding traffic flow while traveling South on I-95 South around the 29 mile marker.
  • 3:00 p.m. – A welfare check was conducted on a white female in the parking lot of the El Ranchito Restaurant at 11382 North Jacob Smart Boulevard after she began displaying signs of being confused about where she was.  The subject was transported by EMS to Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeville for treatment.
  • 4:24 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 30 mile marker.
  • 7:13 p.m. – A white male was reportedly walking South on I-95 around the 21 mile marker.
  • 7:36 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Ridgeland Church of Christ at 1122 East Wilson Street.
  • 9:47 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on Newlin Drive.

SEPTEMBER 14, 2016

  • 12:20 a.m. – Patrol Officers discovered an unsecured door at a business on West Main Street.  There were no signs of criminal activity.
  • 4:09 a.m. – A trespassing complaint was filed at Baytree Apartments at 107 First Avenue in reference to the caller’s ex-boyfriend refusing to leave when ordered.
  • 5:45 a.m. – Ridgeland Officers assisted South Carolina Highway Patrol in responding to a collision on I-95 North around the 16 mile marker involving a tractor trailer and a Ridgeland Fire Department vehicle.

  • 8:47 a.m. – A silver Toyota Camry was involved in a single vehicle collision on I-95 South around the 21 mile marker after the driver lost control and struck the center median guard wires.  No injuries were reported.
  • 9:00 a.m. – A domestic dispute between a male and female was reported at a residence on East Woodlawn Street.
  • 10:55 a.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 31 mile marker in reference to a blue tractor trailer.
  • 11:48 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on Brandon Cove in the North Ridge Community.
  • 12:29 p.m. – A welfare check was conducted at a residence on Three Tee Circle in the North Ridge Community after a 911 hang up call was received by Jasper County Emergency Services.
  • 2:13 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on McTeer Street.
  • 2:23 p.m. – A black Ford Taurus was stopped for numerous moving violations on I-95 North around the 22 mile marker where driver Robin Marie Davern was found to be operating under the influence of alcohol as well as having several open containers inside of the vehicle.  She was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as Webster’s Towing took possession of the vehicle.
  • 5:18 p.m. – A black male armed with a bat was reportedly chasing a black female from the Forest Motel on South Jacob Smart Boulevard running North. Responding Officers located the male party outside of the Short Stop BP Station at 10728 South Jacob Smart Boulevard where he reported that he and the female subject reside together at the Forest Motel and that she had stolen several items from him during a verbal dispute.  Witnesses stated that the female had never been struck by the male as she continued walking Northwest out of the area refusing to speak with Officers.  The male subjects belongings were soon after located behind a vacant home on East Adams Street and returned to him.
  • 5:21 p.m. – A red Ford Mustang was involved in a single vehicle collision on I-95 North around the 21 mile marker after the driver lost control and struck the center median guard wires.  No injuries were reported.
  • 6:22 p.m. – A gray Dodge Caravan and a legally parked unoccupied black Toyota Tundra pickup were involved in a collision behind the Fiddler’s Seafood Restaurant at 7738 West Main Street.  No injuries were reported.
  • 7:18 p.m. – A black male armed with a handgun was reported in a wooded area outside of the Plantation Inn Motel at 11433 North Jacob Smart Boulevard. Responding Officers located the suspect as he exited the woods but were unable to locate any firearms.
  • 10:25 p.m. – Ridgeland Officers assisted Jasper County Deputies in responding to a residence on Ingram Lane in reference to conducting a welfare check on a male subject after he allegedly made statements that he may wish to do harm to himself.  The subject was ultimately transported without incident by Deputies to Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeville for evaluation.

  • 12:30 a.m. – Two suspicious black males were reported at the Tuten Memorial Park at 80 Blue Heron Drive.
  • 3:52 a.m. – A suspicious vehicle was reported in the parking lot of the Advance Auto Parts Store at 10424 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.
  • 4:10 a.m. – A suspicious vehicle was reported in the parking lot of the Econo Lodge Motel at 511 James Taylor Drive.
  • 6:37 a.m. – A suspicious gold Oldsmobile was reported in the parking lot of the Waffle House Restaurant at 8185 East Main Street.
  • 8:09 a.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North around the 19 mile marker in reference to a white Pontiac G6.
  • 8:16 a.m. – A Chevy Silverado pickup was involved in a single vehicle collision on I-95 South around the 19 mile marker after the driver lost control and struck the center median guard wires.  No injuries were reported.
  • 8:53 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the King of Carts Showroom at 10750 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.

  • 3:33 p.m. – A property damage complaint was filed at the Carolina Lodge Motel at 8260 East Main Street in reference to a tenant breaking a window.
  • 8:53 p.m. – A larceny was reported at the Pizza Bella Restaurant at 8196 East Main Street after a black male and female with a small child left the business without paying last seen driving a white Honda traveling West.  Surveillance video is being reviewed for suspect identification and pending charges.

  • 12:25 a.m. – A suspicious white female was reported at the intersection of North Green Street and Grays Highway.
  • 1:47 a.m. – A burgundy Nissan Altima was stopped for a following too close violation on I-95 North around the 22 mile marker where driver Victor Geovany Marroquin Sitan was found to be operating without a driver’s license.  He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as A-1 Towing took possession of the vehicle.
  • 3:30 a.m. – A suspicious white Ford was reported behind the Harvey’s Grocery Store at 8205 East Main Street.
  • 8:30 a.m. – Sabrina Merrie Hurst turned herself in to Ridgeland Officers at the Jasper County Detention Center at 12008 North Jacob Smart Boulevard in reference to an outstanding warrant issued against her stemming from a September 5th 2016 assault at a residence on Shadetree Street in the Carters Mill Estates Community where she struck the female homeowner during an argument over missing prescription medication.
  • 8:42 a.m. – A robbery was reported by a female resident at the Palms Motel at 10735 South Jacob Smart Boulevard after a masked male and female allegedly held her at gunpoint demanding money before fleeing the area.  Surveillance video is being reviewed in reference to this incident.
  • 8:59 a.m. – A white male subject was reportedly standing on the I-95 overpass at the exit 21 interchange.
  • 9:42 a.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 39 mile marker in reference to a gray SUV.
  • 9:43 a.m. – Officers responded to a fuel spill in the parking lot of the Sunoco Station at 11965 North Jacob Smart Boulevard after a vehicle left unattended while fueling began to overflow.
  • 10:52 a.m. – An animal complaint was filed at the Fiddler’s Seafood Market at 572 South Green Street in reference to a stray cat.
  • 11:43 a.m. – A white Ford Focus was stopped for speeding at the intersection of Smith’s Crossing and Wise Street where driver Diona Norise Wright, 20 of Ridgeland SC, was found to be in possession of a quantity of marijuana.  She was cited for the offense and assigned a court date prior to leaving the area.
  • 2:00 p.m. – A disturbance was reported at the Dollar General Store at 8123 East Main Street in reference to a dispute between a customer and Management over a refund.
  • 4:05 p.m. – A trespassing complaint was filed at a residence on First Avenue in reference to a male subject standing on the homeowner’s property.
  • 4:22 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on Honeycomb Court in the Bees Creek Plantation Community.
  • 5:36 p.m. – A case of possible child neglect was reported in reference to children inside of a residence on Hagin Drive.
  • 6:30 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on East Adams Street in reference to a black Chevy Monte Carlo.
  • 7:17 p.m. – A group of people were reportedly engaged in a fight in front of a residence on East Adams Street.
  • 7:30 p.m. – Ridgeland Officers traveled to the Jasper County Detention Center at 12008 North Jacob Smart Boulevard in service of an outstanding warrant against inmate James Lamonte Anderson following his extradition from Broward County Florida.  Anderson’s charges stemmed from the early morning hours of April 19th 2016 when he was traveling South on I-95 from Laurinburg NC to his home in Ft. Lauderdale FL and stopped at the EZ Stop IV Station at 80 Blue Heron Drive in Ridgeland at 3:58 a.m. where he held the on duty clerk at gunpoint demanding money after parking his car between the Burger King Restaurant and Rite Aid Pharmacy located next door.  He then continued traveling South where he executed another robbery in the same fashion at the Octane Station at 18226 Whyte Hardee Boulevard in Hardeeville SC at 5:38 a.m.  Anderson next stopped in the state of Georgia where he conducted two back to back robberies in Pooler at a store at 50 Tanger Outlets Boulevard at 6:15 a.m. and another at 231 Highway 80 East at 6:46 a.m.  The next incident occurred at 7:20 a.m. at a Shell station at 8545 Ford Avenue in Richmond Hill and the final one at a BP station at 1834 GA Highway 57 in Townsend at 8:02 a.m.  Investigators from each of the 5 jurisdictions immediately began attempting to identify the suspect through surveillance video as the FBI was notified who launched their own investigation.  A cigarette butt collected by RPD Investigators at the site of the Ridgeland robbery was submitted to the Beaufort County Forensics Laboratory for DNA analysis which ultimately returned in August with a match from a 2011 burglary case in North Carolina positively identifying Anderson as the person responsible for the SC/GA string of robberies.  He was then arrested by FBI Agents on the morning of September 1st in Fort Lauderdale FL and held at the Broward County Detention Center before being extradited back to South Carolina.
  • 8:13 p.m. – A disturbance was reported at the Pizza Bella Restaurant at 8196 East Main Street in reference to an ongoing dispute between 2 female employees, one of which refused to leave when ordered by the on duty Manager. Holly Marie Stipek, 27 of Tillman SC, was ultimately placed on trespass notice for the business property at the owner’s request.
  • 9:30 p.m. – A complaint was filed at a residence at Heron Crossing Apartments at 313 Heron Crossing Drive in reference to spam messages appearing on the complainant’s Facebook account.
  • 10:17 p.m. – A suspicious female was reported at Turpin Park at 901 North Logan Street.
  • 11:43 p.m. – A disturbance was reported at Baytree Apartments at 107 First Avenue in reference to a male subject kicking the complainant’s door.

  • 12:17 a.m. – A suspicious black male was reported in the parking lot of the Southeast Pyrotechnics Warehouse at 11142 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.
  • 1:24 a.m. – Ridgeland Officers assisted Jasper County Deputies in responding to a disorderly female subject in the parking lot of Club Pluto at 8812 South Jacob Smart Boulevard stemming from an argument over parking between staff members and a club patron.  Nyasha Denn Housey, 35 of Hardeeville SC, was ultimately placed on trespass notice by Deputies and ordered to leave the business property without further incident.
  • 4:57 a.m. – A suspicious vehicle was reported in the parking area of the Gretsch Manufacturing Facility at 248 Grays Highway in reference to a Chrysler Voyager.
  • 6:46 a.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North around the 18 mile marker in reference to a dark blue passenger car.
  • 4:45 p.m. – A group of black males were reportedly engaged in a fight at Turpin Park at 901 North Logan Street.  All subjects fled the area on foot running West towards Regions Bank prior to Law Enforcement arrival.
  • 7:49 p.m. – A suspicious vehicle was reported at the Ridgeland Cemetery in reference to a large SUV.
  • 8:12 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 25 mile marker in reference to a Toyota Tacoma pickup.
  • 8:21 p.m. – William Joseph Warren was placed under arrest at the Palms Motel at 10735 South Jacob Smart Boulevard after being found intoxicated in the parking lot area knocking on other tenants’ doors.  He was ultimately placed on trespass notice at the Property Manager’s request.
  • 10:13 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 32 mile marker in reference to a dark colored sedan.

  • 12:33 a.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North around the 14 mile marker in reference to a white SUV.
  • 1:25 a.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North around the 22 mile marker in reference to a black Chevy SUV.
  • 5:25 a.m. – A white male was reportedly walking on I-95 North around the 24 mile marker.
  • 8:06 a.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North around the 15 mile marker in reference to a Fedex tractor trailer.
  • 8:28 a.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 28 mile marker in reference to a Penske rental truck.
  • 8:49 a.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 28 mile marker in reference to a purple Mazda SUV.
  • 10:00 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at Schooner’s Bar & Grill at 10953 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.

  • 1:47 p.m. – A white male was reportedly walking North on I-95 around the 24 mile marker.  The subject was escorted to the Point South area and advised of the penalties and dangers of walking on the interstate.
  • 3:50 p.m. – A welfare check was conducted on a male subject at the intersection of West Main Street and Sisters Ferry Road after a 911 call concerning a possible domestic dispute.
  • 4:37 p.m. – A welfare check was conducted at a residence on Third Avenue after an open line 911 call was received by Jasper County Emergency Services.
  • 4:39 p.m. – An intoxicated black female was reportedly asking customers and passers by for money in the parking lot of the Short Stop BP Station at 10728 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.
  • 7:00 p.m. – A welfare check was conducted on Industrial Park Road after a 911 hang up call was received by Jasper County Emergency Services.
  • 8:36 p.m. – A female subject was reportedly being assaulted by a male driver in a white 4 door GMC pickup traveling West on Wilson Street from Turpin Park.
  • 9:31 p.m. – A harassment complaint was filed at Turpin Park at 901 North Logan Street after a subject driving a white pickup drove by shouting profanities and insults at two subjects playing tennis.
  • 10:00 p.m. – A welfare check was conducted in the area of Second Avenue and Russell Street after a possible assault of a male pedestrian by an unknown person inside of a vehicle was witnessed approximately 15 minutes prior.
  • 10:38 p.m. – A noise complaint was filed at Baytree Apartments at 107 First Avenue in reference to loud music coming from the parking lot area.
  • 11:11 p.m. – A suspicious black male was reported at Ken’s Tire Service at 10464 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.
  • 11:47 p.m. – A white Ford Explorer was stopped for speeding on I-95 South around the 21 mile marker where driver Walter James Terrell Jr., 53 of Matthews NC, was found to be in possession of a quantity of marijuana.  He was cited for the offense and assigned a court date prior to leaving the area.

  • 12:57 a.m. – A loitering complaint was filed at Baytree Apartments at 107 First Avenue in reference to several individuals standing around in the parking lot area.
  • 1:40 a.m. – An animal complaint was filed at the Forest Motel at 10504 South Jacob Smart Boulevard in reference to a dog wandering the business property.
  • 7:25 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Nimmer Turf business offices at 524 Nimmer Turf Road.
  • 7:51 a.m. – A suspicious black male was reportedly walking on Carters Mill Road carrying an electric chainsaw which he discarded into a wooded area before fleeing on foot.  The item was collected by the complainant and turned over to Law Enforcement pending return to it’s rightful owner.
  • 8:53 a.m. – A complaint was filed at a residence on Second Avenue after a delivery of prescription medication was missing after reportedly being delivered by the Post Office.
  • 11:38 a.m. – A reckless driver was reported on Bees Creek Road in reference to a small gray Ford passenger car.
  • 12:17 p.m. – Officers transported a female Shadetree Street resident from Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeville to the Coastal Empire Mental Health Facility in Walterboro SC.
  • 2:07 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 24 mile marker in reference to a silver Nissan Maxima.
  • 3:52 p.m. – A gold Ford Explorer was stopped on Grays Highway around the Airport Road intersection where driver Brian Joseph Taylor, 26 of Ridgeland SC, was found to be in possession of a quantity of marijuana.  He was cited for the offense and assigned a court date prior to leaving the area.
  • 6:25 p.m. – A male pedestrian was struck by a vehicle at the intersection of East Main Street and the I-95 North exit ramp.  The subject declined medical attention.
  • 6:39 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 22 mile marker in reference to a white Infinity.
  • 8:10 p.m. – A white Lincoln MKX was stopped for speeding on I-95 South around the 19 mile marker where driver Mario Alberto Rodriguez was found to be operating without a driver’s license.  He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as Elite Towing took possession of the vehicle.
  • 8:33 p.m. – A white Nissan Altima and a black Ford Explorer were involved in a collision in the parking lot of the Pizza Hut Carryout at 10856 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.  No injuries were reported.
  • 9:27 p.m. – A welfare check was conducted on North Jacob Smart Boulevard around the Wilson Street intersection after an open line 911 call was received by Jasper County Emergency Services.
  • 11:03 p.m. – A white male was reportedly walking on I-95 South around the 23 mile marker.

  • 2:38 a.m. – A tan Buick LeSabre was stopped for a defective headlight violation at the intersection of West Main and North Green Street where driver Yitzhak E. Ogorek, 38 of Brooklyn NY, was found to be in possession of a quantity of marijuana.  He was cited for the offense and assigned a court date prior to leaving the area.
  • 8:47 a.m. – Ridgeland Officers transported a Promise Way resident from Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeville to the Palmetto Behavioral Health Center in North Charleston for evaluation and treatment.
  • 9:34 a.m. – A report was filed by a male Lynchs Ford Road resident in reference to a previously unreported assault that occurred outside of a home on Second Avenue on September 7th when he and another male became engaged in a physical altercation during an argument.
  • 11:37 a.m. – A legally parked and unoccupied black Ford Focus in front of the Ridgeland Family Dentistry Office at 10832 North Jacob Smart Boulevard was reportedly struck by a burgundy passenger car which then left the area without reporting the collision.
  • 1:19 p.m. – Officers responded to a report of a burglary in progress at a home on Newlin Drive after two male subjects from a Hagin Drive residence were witnessed walking through the area trying vehicle door handles and residential doors.  One of the males ultimately smashed through a door window glass on one of the homes and entered while armed with a hammer where he then began rummaging through drawers and cabinets.  Responding Officers located Jonathan Chance Dupont inside of the home where he was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.  Dupont is currently on supervised release with the South Carolina Department of Probation & Parole until 2019 stemming from a 2012 burglary conviction in Bamberg County.
  • 1:27 p.m. – Ridgeland Officers transported a female Shadetree Street resident from the Jasper County Mental Health Clinic at 1510 Grays Highway to Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeville for evaluation and treatment after a pickup order was issued by the Jasper County Probate Office.
  • 1:30 p.m. – Ridgeland Officers transported a 48 year old  female resident of the Palms Motel from Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeville to the Palmetto Behavioral Health Center in North Charleston for evaluation and treatment after her September 3rd admission stemming from an overdose of illegal narcotics.
  • 1:47 p.m. – An animal complaint was filed at the intersection of West Main Street and Carters Mill Road in reference to a stray Beagle wandering the area.
  • 2:17 p.m. – A dog was reportedly left locked in a van with no air circulation in the parking lot of the Bobop’s Convenience Store at 8548 Grahamville Road. 
  • 2:41 p.m. – Ridgeland Officers assisted South Carolina Highway Patrol in responding to a single vehicle collision involving a moped on Old House Road where Paul Daniel Sandifer, 49 of Ridgeland SC, was transported by EMS to the Ridgeland Airport to be airlifted to Savannah Memorial Hospital in critical condition.
  • 3:14 p.m. – A black Ford Mustang and a white Ford E350 van were involved in a collision in front of the Ridgeland School at 250 Jaguar Trail.  Two occupants were transported by family members to Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeville for evaluation and treatment.

  • 4:01 p.m. – A missing cell phone was reported by a customer at the Piggly Wiggly Grocery Store at 10847 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.  A review of surveillance video revealed no evidence of theft.
  • 4:29 p.m. – Teinge Leroy Howard turned himself in to Ridgeland Officers at the Jasper County Detention Center in reference to a warrant issued against him stemming from an August 29th 2016 domestic dispute on the front lawn of a residence on East Main Street.
  • 4:45 p.m. – A larceny was reported at a residence on Shadetree Street in the Carters Mill Estates Community in reference to a family member taking the complainant’s prescription medication.
  • 4:55 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 35 mile marker in reference to the operator of a light blue tractor trailer texting while driving.
  • 5:47 p.m. – A civil dispute between roommates was reported at a residence on Shadetree Street in the Carters Mill Estates Community in reference to door locks being changed.
  • 8:06 p.m. – A gold Chevy Uplander was stopped for speeding on I-95 North around the 19 mile marker where driver Arnulfo Garcia-Vicente was found to be operating without a driver’s license.  He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as Scott’s Automotive took possession of the vehicle.
  • 9:34 p.m. – A welfare check was conducted in the area of North Jacob Smart Boulevard and East Wilson Street after an open line 911 call was received by Jasper County Emergency Services.
  • 10:19 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Advance Auto Parts Store at 10424 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.

SEPTEMBER 7, 2016

  • 12:59 a.m. – Ridgeland Officers assisted Jasper County Deputies in responding to a report of a possible burglary in progress at a residence on Henry Lawton Road.
  • 1:47 a.m. – A verbal domestic dispute between a husband and wife was reported at a residence on Sailfish Circle in the Carters Mill Estates Community.  Both parties agreed to separate for the remainder of the night without further incident.
  • 7:02 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Ridgeland Baptist Church at 1448 Grays Highway.
  • 9:28 a.m. – A debit card previously reported stolen to the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office from a residence on Jim Nettles Lane on September 1st was allegedly used by the primary suspect in the case at the South State Bank drive up ATM at 10625 South Jacob Smart Boulevard on August 30th.  Surveillance video is being reviewed for pending charges.
  • 11:28 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on Hagin Drive.
  • 1:02 p.m. – A white Dodge Ram pickup was stopped for a following too closely violation on I-95 North around the 21 mile marker where driver Joel Sotolongo-Ulloa and passenger Yamile Navarro-Diaz were found to be in possession of a quantity of methamphetamine.  Both were placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as Blatchley’s Towing took possession of the vehicle.
  • 1:14 p.m. – A civil dispute was reported at the Little T’s Towing impound lot at 11059 North Jacob Smart Boulevard after overspray from a nearby painting job was found on several employee and customer vehicles.
  • 3:32 p.m. – A white Infinity QX56 was stopped for speeding on I-95 South around the 21 mile marker where driver Shakita N. China was found to be operating under a suspended South Carolina driver’s license stemming from several failure to pay traffic ticket violations as well as one previous conviction for driving under suspension.  She was placed under arrest and transported  to the Jasper County Detention Center as J&M Towing took possession of the vehicle.
  • 5:08 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North around the 14 mile marker in reference to a logging truck with a blown tire.
  • 5:29 p.m. – A black GMC Sierra pickup and a Buick passenger car were involved in a collision in the parking lot of the EZ Stop IV Station at 80 Blue Heron Drive.  No injuries were reported.
  • 6:52 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North around the 11 mile marker in reference to a pickup towing a red Pontiac.
  • 9:33 p.m. – A 41 year old male was transported by EMS to Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeville from the Palms Motel at 10735 South Jacob Smart Boulevard after ingesting too much of his prescription medication.
  • 10:28 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Bobops Convenience Store at 8548 Grahamville Road.

SEPTEMBER 6, 2016

  • 7:34 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Palmetto Veterinary Hospital at 409 South Green Street.
  • 10:19 a.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 28 mile marker in reference to a Ford van.
  • 11:36 a.m. – A silver Grand Marquis was stopped on I-95 around the 22 mile marker for traveling South on the shoulder of the Northbound side of the interstate.  The driver was cited for the offense prior to leaving the area.
  • 3:47 p.m. – A property damage complaint was filed at Pam’s Barber Shop at 716 West Adams Street after a U-Haul truck struck the side of the building while backing up.  No injuries were reported.
  • 4:36 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North around the 18 mile marker in reference to an International tractor trailer.
  • 4:38 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at Sauls Funeral Home at 310 West Adams Street.
  • 5:52 p.m. – Anthony Bernard Gibson was placed under arrest in the parking lot of the Wendy’s Restaurant at 8480 Grahamville Road after Officers witnessed him asking customers and passers by for money.  He was transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.
  • 7:24 p.m. – A 9 year old child was bitten on one of his fingers by a large dog roaming the area of the Oakridge Trailer Park Community on North Green Street after he attempted to intervene when the dog attacked his own family dog which ultimately died from it’s injuries.  The owner of the aggressive dog was eventually located and cited as DHEC was notified of the incident.  The bitten juvenile was transported by family members to Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeville for treatment.
  • 9:52 p.m. – A welfare check was conducted on a female subject at the Palms Motel at 10735 South Jacob Smart Boulevard after a 911 hang up call was received by Jasper County Emergency Services.
  • 9:55 p.m. – A strong arm robbery was reported by a 17 year old female in the parking lot of the Jaspers Porch Restaurant at 153 James Taylor Drive after a 16 year old male acquaintance snatched an undisclosed amount of cash from her hands before fleeing the area on foot.  Responding Officers ultimately located the suspect inside of a room at the Quality Inn Motel located next door where he returned the money without incident.  The victim declined pursuing charges in the matter.

  • 2:59 a.m. – Shaiheem Lajuan Beaton, 18 of Ridgeland SC and Malaysia Shalik Darien, 19 of Garnett SC, were both placed on trespass notice for the business property of the Waffle House Restaurant at 8185 East Main Street at Management’s request after being found smoking marijuana in the parking lot area.

  • 5:12 a.m. – A suspicious gold Ford was reported in the parking lot of the Citgo Station at 107 Sycamore Drive.
  • 5:26 a.m. – A suspicious male was reported outside of the Piggly Wiggly Grocery Store at 10847 North Jacob Smart Boulevard where responding Officers discovered Tommy James Holmes to be listed as a wanted person by the Ridgeland Police Department.  He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center where, during the booking process, he was found to be in possession of a quantity of marijuana resulting in an additional charge.  Holmes’ outstanding warrant stemmed from a December 12th 2015 traffic stop in the parking lot of the McDonald’s Restaurant at 8548 Grahamville Road where he was arrested and charged with driving under suspension.  He was later found guilty of the charges in Ridgeland Municipal Court on January 11th 2016 and placed on a time payment plan to settle the court ordered fines which he failed to comply with resulting in a warrant being issued for his arrest.
  • 8:57 a.m. – Ridgeland Officers traveled to the Beaufort County Detention Center at 100 Ribaut Road in Beaufort SC where inmate Henry Lee Graham III was turned over to their custody and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center in reference to an outstanding warrant.  Graham’s charges stemmed from a December 20th 2015 traffic stop on I-95 North at the exit 22 interchange entrance ramp where he was arrested and charged after providing Officers with his brother’s name and date of birth in an attempt to conceal his identity.  He then failed to appear in Ridgeland Municipal Court on January 4th 2016 to answer to the charges where he was found guilty during a trial in absence and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
  • 11:46 a.m. – A property damage report was filed by a motorist on I-95 in reference to a pipe falling from another vehicle and striking the their vehicle as they traveled South around the 21 mile marker.  No injuries were reported.
  • 1:11 p.m. – A welfare check was conducted on a female subject driving a black Ford Taurus in the truck parking area on I-95 South around the 17 mile marker.
  • 1:31 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Ridgeland Baptist Church at 1448 Grays Highway.
  • 2:57 p.m. – A welfare check was conducted at a Centurylink maintenance building on West Langford Street after a 911 hang up call was received by Jasper County Emergency Services.
  • 3:08 p.m. – A suspicious white Mercedes was reported on the business property of Scott’s Automotive at 495 South Green Street.
  • 6:13 p.m. – A blue Honda SUV was involved in a single vehicle collision on I-95 South around the 17 mile marker.  No injuries were reported.
  • 8:34 p.m. – A suspicious white female was reported on the business property of Little T’s Towing at 11577 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.
  • 10:09 p.m. – Ridgeland Officers assisted Jasper County Deputies in responding to reports of several gunshots being fired outside of a residence on Bees Creek Road.
  • 10:42 p.m. – A suspicious black male subject was reported at the intersection of Bees Creek Road and Family Circle.
  • 11:19 p.m. – An assault was reported at a residence on Shadetree Street in the Carters Mill Estates Community after a 32 year old pregnant female was struck during an argument over missing prescription medication.  A warrant affidavit has been filed against Sabrina Merrie Hurst, 22 of Ridgeland SC, charging her with assault & battery 3rd.

  • 2:09 a.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North around the 22 mile marker in reference to a silver Jeep Cherokee.
  • 9:13 a.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 35 mile marker in reference to a red tractor trailer.
  • 3:50 p.m. – Officers responded to the Ridgeland Correctional Institution at 5 Correctional Road where Detention Officers had taken Debra Greene Lawson, 58 of North Myrtle Beach SC, into custody after she was discovered attempting to smuggle two packages of heroin into the facility while visiting an inmate.  She was turned over to Ridgeland Officers for transport to the Jasper County Detention Center.

  • 4:41 p.m. – A Honda Accord and a Toyota Camry were involved in a collision in the parking lot of the Gulf Station at 8250 East Main Street.  No injuries were reported.
  • 5:25 p.m. – An intoxicated white female reportedly assaulted a resident on East Adams Street before leaving the area walking East prior to Law Enforcement arrival.
  • 6:02 p.m. – Elizabeth English Lowther was placed under arrest in the parking lot of the Citgo Station at 107 Sycamore Drive and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center after Officers found her swearing at random customers after attempting to get inside of their vehicles without permission.
  • 8:31 p.m. – Four suspicious black males on bicycles were reported on North Green Street.
  • 10:56 p.m. – A silver Hyundai Elantra and a burgundy Chevy Cruz were involved in a collision in front of the Gulf Station at 8250 East Main Street.  Two female occupants from the Hyundai were transported by EMS to Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeville for treatment as the driver of the Chevy, Kierra Nichole Boatwright 22 of Pineland SC, was charged with no driver’s license, failure to yield right of way, improper tag, failure to register vehicle and no proof of insurance.

  • 1:26 a.m. – A suspicious black male was reported in the parking lot of the Quality Inn Motel at 221 James Taylor Drive.
  • 1:39 a.m. – Officers were dispatched to a disabled Honda Accord in the parking lot of the Pizza Hut Carryout at 10856 North Jacob Smart Boulevard where caller Marcus Colby Deshong, 30 of McConnellsburg PA, was found to be in possession of a quantity of marijuana which he was smoking just prior to the responding Officer’s arrival.  He was cited for the offense and assigned a court date before leaving the area.
  • 5:06 a.m. – An assault was reported at the Waffle House Restaurant at 8185 East Main Street after a 16 year old female juvenile relative of an employee came behind the business counter where a verbal altercation resulted in her striking the on duty Manager several times before leaving the property prior to Law Enforcement arrival.  Surveillance video is being reviewed for pending charges.
  • 7:14 a.m. – An orange Dodge Dart was involved in a single vehicle collision on Old House Road at the Honey Hill curve after the driver lost control and left the roadway ultimately coming to a stop after striking a large tree.  He was extricated from the vehicle and transported by EMS to the Ridgeland Airport on Grays Highway where he was airlifted to Savannah Memorial Hospital.

  • 8:39 a.m. – A welfare check was conducted at a residence at Woodridge Apartments at 414 South Logan Street in reference to a male toddler exhibiting strange behavior.
  • 11:15 a.m. – A welfare check was conducted at a residence on Three Tee Circle in the North Ridge Community after an open line 911 call was received by Jasper County Emergency Services.
  • 3:22 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 24 mile marker in reference to a dark colored Chrysler sedan.
  • 4:04 p.m. – A suspicious male subject was reported at the Star Point BP Station at 11122 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.
  • 7:14 p.m. – Ridgeland Officers assisted Jasper County Deputies during a traffic stop on a white Jeep SUV on Highway 17 in the Switzerland area where driver Mary Alice Kibler, 61 of Hardeeville SC, was ultimately placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center under a charge of DUI.  Her vehicle was turned over to J&M Towing for removal from the area.

  • 7:20 p.m. – Officers responded to a report of a possible overdose of illegal narcotics at the Palms Motel at 10735 South Jacob Smart Boulevard where a 48 year old female was ultimately transported by EMS to Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeville for treatment.
  • 8:43 p.m. – A welfare check was conducted on a 54 year old male at Baytree Apartments at 107 First Avenue after a relative became concerned that he may wish to do harm to himself.
  • 10:14 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Ridgeland Church of Christ at 112 East Wilson Street.
  • 10:52 p.m. – A noise complaint was filed in reference to a group of juveniles at the Waffle House Restaurant at 8185 East Main Street.

  • 12:12 a.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 33 mile marker in reference to a white Dodge pickup.
  • 2:31 a.m. – A welfare check was conducted on a disabled white Lexus on I-95 South around the 19 mile marker.
  • 6:04 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the New Hong Kong Restaurant at 8176 East Main Street.
  • 6:05 a.m. – A fallen tree was reportedly blocking traffic in front of the main entry gate to the Ridgeland Correctional Institution at 5 Correctional Road.
  • 12:41 p.m. – A property damage report was filed at a residence at Baytree Apartments at 107 First Avenue after the complainant returned home to find that the door of his apartment had been kicked in thereby damaging the frame.
  • 12:48 p.m. – An assault report was filed at a residence on Live Oak Farm Road after a 20 year old male was struck several times in the face by an acquaintance demanding money from him.  The incident was said to have occurred outside of a residence on Chippa Willow Road resulting in the information being forwarded to the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office.  Responding Deputies ultimately placed Jonathan Chance Dupont, 20 of Ridgeland SC, under arrest at the Chippa Willow address and transported him to the Jasper County Detention Center under a charge of assault & battery 3rd.

  • 8:33 p.m. – A complaint was filed at the Quality Inn Motel at 221 James Taylor Drive in reference to suspected illegal drug activity where responding Officers found tenant Antoine Louis Bethea, 32 of Estill SC, to be in possession of a quantity of marijuana.  He was cited for the offense and assigned a court date prior to being placed on trespass notice for the business property of the Quality Inn at Management’s request.

  • 10:43 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the New Hong Kong Restaurant at 8176 East Main Street.

SEPTEMBER 1, 2016

  • 8:02 a.m. – Anthony Bernard Gibson, 44 of Ridgeland SC, was ordered to leave the property of  the McDonald’s Restaurant at 8548 Grahamville Road after several complaints of him asking customers and passers by for money in the business parking lot.

  • 8:53 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on McTeer Street.
  • 10:06 a.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 22 mile marker in reference to a burgundy tractor trailer.
  • 11:47 a.m. – A Kia Sorento and a Cadillac were involved in a collision in the parking lot of the Star Point BP Station at 11122 North Jacob Smart Boulevard. No injuries were reported.
  • 12:18 p.m. – A silver GMC Envoy was stopped for a suspended South Carolina tag violation on I-95 North around the 20 mile marker where driver Andres Cortes was found to be operating without a driver’s license or valid insurance coverage on the vehicle.  He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as A-1 Towing took possession of the vehicle.
  • 2:29 p.m. – Ridgeland Officers traveled to the Beaufort County Detention Center at 100 Ribaut Road in Beaufort where inmate Andre Maurice Simmons was turned over to their custody and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center in reference to outstanding warrants issued against him by the Ridgeland Police Department.  Simmons’ charges stemmed from a January 12th 2016 traffic stop on I-95 North around the 19 mile marker where he was arrested and charged with providing false information to Police and driving under suspension 3rd.  He was later found guilty of the charges in Ridgeland Municipal Court on February 8th and placed on a time payment plan to settle the court ordered fines which he failed to comply with resulting in warrants being issued for his arrest.
  • 7:01 p.m. – A welfare check was conducted on a male subject in the parking lot of Heron Crossing Apartments at 72 Heron Crossing Drive.
  • 9:44 p.m. – A harassment complaint was filed at a residence on North Jacob Smart Boulevard in reference to unwanted telephone calls.
