MAY 31, 2013

Officers responded to an altercation at the Ridgeland High School at 1868 Grays Highway where Natasha Love was found shouting at school staff. After refusing to obey Officer’s orders to leave the school she was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.

Two suspicious persons were reported at Logan Lane Apartments at 544 South Logan Street. No charges were filed.

A Toyota Camry and Jeep Cherokee were involved in a collision at Badcock Furniture at 73 South Green Street. No injuries were reported.

Officers responded to a welfare check at a residence on First Avenue.

MAY 30, 2013

A green Ford Escape was stopped for speeding on I-95 South where driver Atiesha Dobie was found to be operating under a suspended NC driver’s license. She was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.

Officers responded to a report of two females arguing at the corner of West Main and South Green Street in front of the Unique Beauty Salon at 7716 West Main Street. No charges were filed.

A red Nissan van was stopped for speeding on I-95 South where driver Charles Browne III was found to be operating under a revoked MD driver’s license. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center. The vehicle passenger was cited for allowing an unauthorized driver.

Officers responded to a suspicious vehicle at the Green Street Storage facility at 261 South Green Street.

A stolen debit card from the Pizza Hut Restaurant at 10856 North Jacob Smart Boulevard was used for several transactions in the Ridgeland area. Charges are pending review of video surveillance footage.

Officers responded to two males arguing on Sailfish Circle in Carters Mill Estates. No charges were filed.

A U-Haul truck struck a large potted plant holder at Tutens Park on James L. Taylor Drive.

MAY 29, 2013

Officers responded to an activated alarm on James Taylor Drive where the front window glass was found to have been shattered. No entry was gained into the residence.

A Jeep Cherokee and a Chrysler Sebring were involved in a collision at the intersection of Bees Creek and Grahamville Road. One person was transported to Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeville by EMS.

Officers responde to 2 activated alarms at the Star Point BP Station at 11122 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.

A gray Toyota Camry and a brown Chevy Impala were involved in a collision at the intersection of Weathersbee and Third Avenue. No injuries were reported.

MAY 28, 2013

A red Ford Explorer was damaged at a residence on Sailfish Circle in Carters Mill Estates.

Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Daniel Defense building at 58 Firefly Drive.

Officers responded to a suspicious person at Turpin Park at 901 North Logan Street.

A vehicle struck a handicapped parking sign at the KFC Restaurant at 8146 East Main Street. No charges were filed.

Officers responded to a domestic dispute at the Days Inn Motel at 8216 East Main Street. The victim refused cooperation and no charges were filed.

MAY 27, 2013

A tan Honda Accord was stopped for speeding on I-95 North where passenger Donald Shackleford was found to be in possession of 2 open containers of beer. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.

Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Pizza Bella Restaurant at 8196 East Main Street.

Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Ridgeland Baptist Church at 1448 Grays Highway.

Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on Live Oak Farm Road.

MAY 26, 2013

A white Ford pickup was stopped for moving violations at the intersection of Sweet William and Bees Creek Road where driver Bueneerge Hernandez-Garcia was found to be operating under the influence and with no driver’s license. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.

A tan Mazda Protege was stopped for speeding on I-95 South where driver Michelle Setzer was found to be operating with no valid insurance coverage. The vehicle was towed from the area and Setzer was cited.

A tan Buick Lacrosse was stopped for speeding on I-95 North where driver Ahmed Mahmoud was found to be in possession of marijuana and cited.

A complaint of property damage was filed by a resident on Colony Drive at Bees Creek Plantation in reference to the security gate.

A red Dodge Durango was stopped for speeding on I-95 South where driver Samuel Ventura-Vasquez was found to be operating with no driver’s license. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.

Officers responded to a residence on Oakridge South at Oakridge Trailer Park on North Green Street in reference to threats being made where Gerardo Hernandez-Leyva was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.

MAY 25, 2013

Officers responded to an assault at a residence on Oakridge South at Oakridge Trailer Park on North Green Street where both parties refused to press charges. A trespass notice was issued on one of the parties involved.

A harassment complaint was received by a resident at Woodridge Apartments at 414 South Logan Street. No charges were filed.

Officers responded to a residence on First Avenue where a dispute over a cell phone had led to an assault. Charges are pending against one of the parties involved.

A shoplifting report was filed at the Handy Dan’s Gulf Station at 8250 East Main Street.

A black Ford Expedition was stopped for speeding on I-95 North where driver James Barrett was found to be in possession of a 38 caliber revolver stuffed into a shoe in the back seat. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.

A report of communicating threats was filed by a resident on Fordville Road. No charges were filed.

Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Ridgeland Baptist Church at 1448 Grays Highway.

A harassment complaint was received by a resident at Baytree Apartments at 107 First Avenue. No charges were filed.

A report of a stolen iPhone was filed at the Rite Aid Pharmacy at 8227 East Main Street.

A loud music complaint was received in reference to the Ridgeland Farmers Market at 9935 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.

MAY 24, 2013

A larceny report was filed by a resident on Sisters Ferry Road where several pieces of scrap metal had been stolen from the property.

A gold Toyota Camry was stopped for speeding on I-95 South where driver Robert Morris was found to be operating under a suspended GA drivers license. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.

An assault occurred in a room at the Carolina Lodge Motel at 8260 East Main Street. The victim was transported by EMS to Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeville for a laceration to his eyelid.

Officers responded to a domestic dispute at a residence on First Avenue. No charges were filed.

Christopher Ellison Chin was being held at the Beaufort County Detention Center for pickup in reference to an outstanding warrant issued by Ridgeland Police Department for a driving under suspension 3rd offense stemming from a traffic stop in March of 2012. Ridgeland Officers transported him back to the Jasper County Detention Center.

A red Ford pickup and a red Infiniti were involved in a collision at the intersection of Smiths Crossing and South Jacob Smart Boulevard. EMS transported to Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeville.

A gray Nissan Maxima was stopped for speeding on I-95 South where driver James Stultz Jr. was found to operating under the influence as well as having an open container in his possession. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.

Officers responded to an activated alarm at Ridgeland Family Dentistry at 10832 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.

A dog complaint was filed by a resident on Brandon Cove in the North Ridge Community.

Officers responded to a domestic dispute complaint at the Jaspers Porch Restaurant in reference to an incident that occurred at a residence on Crab Apple Lane.

Officers responded to an activated alarm at a resident on Live Oak Farm Road.

MAY 23, 2013

Officers responded to a residence on Newlin Drive in reference to an ongoing domestic dispute which had originated on Bailey Lane where Jasper County Sheriff’s Deputies had responded. Upon arrival at Newlin Drive Eduardo Rojas was placed under arrest for disorderly conduct during Officers’ attempts to investigate the dispute. Raven Johnson was placed under arrest for criminal domestic violence. Both were transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.

A suspicious person was reported asking for money at a residence on North Green Street.

A black Toyota and a blue Oldsmobile were involved in a collision at the intersection of East Main Street and North Jacob Smart Boulevard. No injuries were reported.

Officers responded to a person lying down on the sidewalk in front of a business at 9797 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.

A report of illegal drug activity was reported by an anonymous resident on Shadetree Street in Carters Mill Estates.

A gray Honda Accord was stopped for speeding on I-95 North where driver Amir Muhammed and passenger Brittany Jones were both found to be in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Both were placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.

A suspicious vehicle was reported in a wooded area at Augusta Avenue and South Logan Street.

A complaint of loitering and loud music was filed by a resident at Baytree Apartments at 107 First Avenue.

A silver Hyundai Elantra was stopped for speeding on I-95 South where driver Tasheana McDougald provided a fictitious name and date of birth to Officers. After her true identity was discovered she was found to be operating under a NC identification card only at which time she was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.

Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Jaspers Porch Restaurant at 153 James L. Taylor Drive.

A barking dog complaint was filed by a resident on West Adams Street. No charges were filed.

MAY 22, 2013

Officers responded to a single car collision involving a blue Honda in front of Club Oceans at 8812 South Jacob Smart Boulevard where driver Andrea Smith was found to be operating under a suspended driver’s license. She was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.

A suspicious vehicle harassing a resident on Forest Avenue was reported but left the area prior to Officers arrival.

A black BMW was stopped for speeding on I-95 North where driver Nabil Inaya was found to be operating under an in state only route restricted NC driver’s license. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.

A harassment complaint was filed by a subject on North Green Street. No charges were filed.

A fraudulent check was cashed by Deitra Mitchell at the Star Point BP Station at 11122 South Jacob Smart Boulevard. A warrant has been issued for her arrest.

DEITRA MITCHELL

Officers responded to the Jasper County Mental Health Department at 1510 Grays Highway where Jasper County Deputies executed a pick up order to transport a subject to Coastal Carolina Medical Center for evaluation.

Officers responded to a dog complaint at a residence on Oak Plantation Drive where a noise ordinance violation citation was issued.

Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Ridgeland Baptist Church at 1448 Grays Highway.

Officers received information that Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office had been in pursuit of a gray Honda Pilot on Highway 170 which was last seen turning on Highway 462 towards Ridgeland when Beaufort County disengaged the pursuit. Ridgeland Officers then observed a vehicle matching the description on Sweet William Road where a traffic stop was initiated. The driver then exited the vehicle and fled on foot but was quickly apprehended by Ridgeland Officers and Jasper County Sheriff’s Deputies. The suspect provided a fictitious name to the arresting Officers but was ultimately identified as Joey Winston through booking photos from the Beaufort County Detention Center after paperwork from that agency was discovered inside of his vehicle. Winston was transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.

MAY 21, 2013

Latifah Green was arrested and held on unrelated charges at the Beaufort County Detention Center where a hold was placed on her for outstanding warrants issued by Ridgeland Police Department. Ridgeland Officers then traveled to Beaufort and took custody of Green for transport back to the Jasper County Detention Center where she was served 2 bench warrants for shoplifting and cursing and abusing in reference to an incident that occurred at the Dollar General at 8123 East Main Street on July 10, 2012.

A suspicious vehicle was reported in the parking lot of Advance Auto Parts at 10424 South Jabob Smart Boulevard.

Officers responded to a disturbance at a residence on Fifth Avenue.

MAY 20, 2013

Officers responded to a domestic dispute at a residence on Sailfish Circle in Carters Mill Estates. No charges were filed.

Officers responded to a disturbance at a residence on Brandon Cove in the North Ridge Community.

A suspicious vehicle was reported at Baytree Apartments at 107 First Avenue.

Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Badcock Furniture store at 10213 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.

A suspicious vehicle was reported at the old El Ranchito Restaurant at 11469 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.

Officers responded to a custody dispute at the Harvey’s Grocery Store at 8205 East Main Street.

A dog complaint was filed by a resident on Old Logan.

A Chrysler Aspen and Ford Explorer were involved in a collision at the Harvey’s Grocery Store. No injuries were reported.

A silver Lincoln was stopped on Grays Highway after receiving multiple reports of erratic driving and flashing headlights. No charges were filed.

MAY 19, 2013

Officers responded to a larceny at the Waffle House Restaurant at 8185 East Main Street where a Hispanic male and female accumulated a $27 bill and then left without paying.

Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Volvo Rentals location at 95 Bees Creek Road.

Officers responded to a property damage complaint at the Siesta Motel at 10530 South Jacob Smart Boulevard where a 2011 Mazda SUV struck a fence and left the area. The vehicle was soon located and returned to the Siesta. No charges were filed.

Officers responded to a domestic dispute at Logan Lane Apartments at 544 South Logan Street. No charges were filed.

A golf cart that had been reported stolen to the Jasper County Sheriff’s on Saturday night was recovered by Ridgeland Officers by a pond in the North Ridge community and turned over to Sheriff’s Deputies.

Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Badcock Furniture store at 10213 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.

A loud music complaint was filed by a resident on Colony Drive. No charges were filed.

Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Ridgeland Coin Laundry at 10246 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.

A red Ford and a silver Honda were involved in a collision in the McDonald’s parking lot at 8548 Grahamville Road. No injuries were reported.

Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on Colony Drive in the Bees Creek Plantation comminity.

MAY 18, 2013

Officers responded to a residence on East Adams Street where Darius Woods was found to have been killed by an apparent gunshot wound. Ridgeland Investigators, along with SLED Crime Scene Agents and Forensic Technicians, responded to the scene where numerous pieces of evidence were collected and several interviews conducted. This case is currently under investigation with charges pending.

A white Mercury Mountaineer was stopped for speeding on I-95 North where driver James Hudson was found to be operating under a suspended Florida driver’s license. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.

A white Ford Taurus was stopped for an expired GA license plate on I-95 South where driver John Cone was found to be operating under the influence as well as having an open container of alcohol in his possession. Passenger Raymond Williams was found to have an open container of alcohol in his possession as well at which time both were placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.

Officers responded to a loud music complaint at a residence on Shadetree Street in Carters Mill Estates. No charges were filed.

Officers responded to 2 suspicious persons on Logan Street.

A disorderly tenant complaint was filed by an employee of the Days Inn Motel at 8216 East Main Street.

Officers responded to an activated alarm at the H&R Block Office at 8120 East Main Street.

Officers responded to a suspicious vehicle reported driving recklessly at a residence on North Green Street.

A silver Ford Escort was stopped for speeding on I-95 South where driver Elton Foster was found to be operating under a suspended driver’s license as well as being in possession of an open container of alcohol.. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.

Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on South Green Street.

MAY 17, 2013

A green Plymouth Voyage van was stopped for speeding on Smith’s Crossing where driver Devron Dopson was found to be in possession of marijuana packaged for distribution in addition to scales, plastic bags and rubber bands. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.

Officers responded to a suspicious vehicle at the Jaspers Porch Restaurant at 153 James L. Taylor Drive.

Officers responded to a collision at the Harvey’s Grocery Store at 8205 East Main Street involving a Buick and a Chevy. No injuries were reported.

A juvenile assault was reported by a resident on First Avenue in reference to an incident that occurred at the Ridgeland Middle School. The information was forwarded to Jasper County Sheriff’s Office School Resource Officers.

Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on East Woodlawn Street.

Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Bobops Station at 8548 Grahamville Road.

Officers responded to a collision at the Short Stop BP Station at 10728 South Jacob Smart Boulevard involving a Cadillac and a GMC. No injuries were reported.

A telephone harassment complaint was filed by a resident on Oakridge Drive South.

Abraham North Jr. was detained by Dorchester County authorities and held as a fugitive after being listed as wanted by the Ridgeland Police Department. He was picked up by Ridgeland Officers and transported back to the Jasper County Detention Center where he was served warrants for driving under suspension 3rd offense, speeding and providing false information to police stemming from an incident that occurred on February 20th, 2013. North is also a suspect in a fraudulent check case filed at the Sunoco Station at 11965 North Jacob Smart Boulevard on March 8th, 2013.

MAY 16, 2013

A 2001 Club Car golf cart was stolen from a residence on Fifth Avenue and later recovered at a residence on Rice Shire Road. A juvenile petition for grand larceny was filed against the suspect and forwarded to the Ridgeland Department of Juvenile Justice Office.

Officers responded to a domestic dispute at the Burger King Restaurant at 8257 East Main Street. Charges are pending suspect identification.

Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Jasper County Courthouse at 265 Russell Street.

A complaint of vehicle damage to a black Honda Accord was reported at the Short Stop BP Station at 10728 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.

Officers responded to a welfare check of a juvenile at Logan Lane Apartments at 544 South Logan Street.

Officers responded to an attempted larceny at the Days Inn Motel at 8216 East Main Street.

MAY 15, 2013
Officers responded to the Jasper County Alternative School at 456 Grays Highway in reference to a juvenile complaint.

A civil complaint was filed at Sheffield Oil at 11033 North Jacob Smart Boulevard in reference to a customer refusing to pay for services rendered on her vehicle. Charges are pending suspect identification.

A harassment complaint was filed by a resident at Logan Lane Apartments at 544 South Logan Street in reference to several females accusing her of “working with the Police”.

A collision was reported at the McDonald’s Restaurant parking lot at 8548 Grahamville Road involving a state owned van and a Honda. No injuries were reported.

An complaint was filed by a subject at Beaufort Memorial Hospital alleging that she was assaulted at Carters Mill Estates on May 13th.

A suspicious vehicle was reported at the Blue Heron Nature Center at 321 Bailey Lane.

MAY 14, 2013

Officers responded to a hit and run collision on West Main Street where a green Ford Explorer had struck a legally parked GMC Envoy causing damage and then left the scene without reporting it. Evidence collected at the scene and witness statements led Officers to a residence on Jim Nettles Lane where the Ford Explorer was found and driver Phebe Garay was placed under arrest. She was transported to the Jasper County Detention Center and the owner of the vehicle was issued a citation for allowing an unauthorized driver due to Garay’s SC driver’s license being under a state of suspension.

Officers responded to a welfare check at a residence on Hagin Drive where a juvenile was taken into protective custody and later transported to Charleston for evaluation.

A sexual assault report was filed at a residence on South Green Street.

A suspicious vehicle was reported at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church at 10126 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.

A fraudulent check incident was reported at the Shell Convenience Store at 8209 East Main Street stemming from a forged check that was cashed there by Deitra Mitchell on April 29th. A warrant has been issued for her arrest.

DEITRA MITCHELL

A green Nissan Xterra was stopped on North Jacob Smart Boulevard for disregarding a stop sign at Third Avenue and North Jacob. The driver, Radu Chereches, was found to be operating under a suspended GA driver’s license and a suspended tag as well as having no valid insurance coverage. Numerous suspicious items indicating possible identity theft including photos and building locations and descriptions from around the country as well as notebooks containing chemical breakdowns and combinations were discovered inside the vehicle, all of which were seized and turned over to the FBI. Radu Chereches was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.

A property damage report was filed at Scott’s Automotive at 495 South Green Street where a red Ford pickup had struck a power box. No injuries were reported.

A silver Suzuki Forenza and a silver Chevy Uplander were involved in a collision at the 18 mile marker on I-95 South. No injuries were reported.

A property damage report was filed at the Gulf Station at 8205 East Main Street after a camper drove away with the gasoline pump nozzle still attached.

A Sara Lee delivery truck struck the side of the Piggly Wiggly Grocery Store at 10847 North Jacob Smart Boulevard. The driver was transported to Coastal Carolina Medical Center by EMS Personnel.

A gold Honda Accord was stopped for speeding around the Carters Mill & Great Swamp Road intersection where the driver, Erica Fripp, was found to be in possession of an open bottle of vodka and marijuana. She was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.

MAY 13, 2013

Officers responded to a residence on East Main Street in reference to a subject entering the home without permission. No charges were filed.

A report was filed of an attempted burglary of a residence on Shadetree Street in Carters Mill Estates. No entry was made and no items were taken.

A blue PT Cruiser and a black van were involved in a collision on Third Avenue. Minor injuries were reported.

Officers responded to a suspicious person at Turpin Park at 901 North Logan Street where Catina Aiken was found lying on a bench. Aiken had previously been placed on trespass notice for Turpin Park and was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.

Several storage units at the Green Street Storage facility at 261 South Green Street were broken into and the locks replaced. Several items were reported missing.

Officers responded to a suspicious person at the intersection of Shadetree Street and Carters Mill Road.

Officers responded to an activated alarm on Industrial Park Road.

Several juveniles were reported to be throwing rocks at a vehicle on Shadetree Street in Carters Mill Estates. No charges were filed.

MAY 12, 2013

Jasper County Deputies were involved in a vehicle pursuit of a tan Saturn on Frontage Road which ended when the vehicle struck a building at the intersection of Morgandollar Road and Frontage. The driver of the vehicle, Cloyd White, was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center where Ridgeland Officers served an outstanding warrant on him for assault and battery stemming from an incident that occurred on April 24th at Logan Lane Apartments.

Officers assisted EMS personnel in the parking lot of the McDonalds Restaurant at 8548 Grahamville Road in reference to a female having a seizure.

A suspicious vehicle was reported at the Plantation Inn at 11433 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.

A silver Nissan Sentra was stopped for speeding in the Piggly Wiggly parking lot at 10847 North Jacob Smart Boulevard where driver Kendrell Wesley was found to be operating under a suspended drivers license with 2 previous driving under suspension convictions as well as being listed as a wanted person from Allendale County. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.

Officers responded to a suspicious person at the intersection of Bees Creek and Chelsea Lane.

Officers responded to a domestic dispute at Heron Crossing Apartments at 113 Heron Crossing Drive. The victim declined cooperation and no charges were filed.

A suspicious person was reported at the Gulf Station at 8250 East Main Street.

A complaint of dogs barking was reported on Woods Court in the Oak Plantation Commons community.

A hit and run collision was reported in front of Kingdom Touch Ministries at 6714 Tillman Road where a teal SUV struck a black Ford F-150 which was parked unoccupied on the side of the road.

Officers responded to a fight in progress at a residence on Wilson Street where Jose Gonzalez was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center. No persons involved were transported to the hospital.

An incorrigible juvenile was reported at a residence on Shadetree Street in Carters Mill Estates.

MAY 11, 2013

April Marie Little was arrested and charged with attempted murder and attempted armed robbery in reference to an incident that occurred on Wilson Street on May 8th. She was transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.

Officers responded to a domestic dispute at the Waffle House at 8185 East Main Street. Trespass Notices were served and no charges were filed.

Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Ridgeland Baptist Church at 1448 Grays Highway.

A suspicious person was reported lying on a bench at Turpin Park at 901 North Logan Street.

A suspicious person was reported at the intersection of East Main Street and South Jacob Smart Boulevard.

A harassment complaint was filed by an individual at the Ridgeland Coin Laundry at 10246 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.

MAY 10, 2013

A suspicious person was reported to be knocking on the door of a residence on South Green Street at approximately 1:30 am.

Officers responded to 3 activated alarms throughout the day at the Gretsch building at 248 Grays Highway.

A suspicious person was reported at the Bank of Walterboro at 8058 East Main Street at approximately 2:00 am.

Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Main Street Pharmacy at 7752 West Main Street.

A blue Hyundai Accent was stopped for speeding on I-95 South where driver Kamar Gordon was found to be operating under a revoked NY driver’s license. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.

A blue Chevy Impala was reported stolen from a residence on Shadetree Street. As Officers arrived on scene the victim refused to cooperate and did not want to pursue charges. Officers shortly after recovered the vehicle at Baytree Apartments at 107 First Avenue where it was returned to the owner.

A suspicious vehicle was reported at West Adams Street and Sisters Ferry Road.

A white Honda Accord was stopped on First Avenue as it turned into the Baytree Apartments parking lot where driver Antwan Drake was found to be operating under a suspended driver’s license. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center and the owner of the vehicle, Baytree resident Dietra Wright, was issued a citation for allowing an unauthorized driver.

A complaint of vehicle damage caused by a railroad crossing arm was filed at D&R Auto at 7622 West Main Street.

A loud music complaint was filed in reference to a residence at Shadetree and Sailfish Streets at Carters Mill Estates.

Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Discount Tobacco Store at 8120 East Main Street.

A red Chevy Camaro was stopped for speeding on I-95 South where driver Jesse Pinuala was found to be operating under a suspended Florida driver’s license. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.

An anonymous caller reported a toddler and an infant being left alone inside of a vehicle at the Short Stop BP Station at 10728 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.

A suspicious vehicle was reported on Sycamore Drive near the Boat & RV World entrance.

An assault was reported at a residence on Oakridge Drive at 700 North Green Street.

MAY 8, 2013

Officers responded to a victim of an assault in the parking lot of Handy Dan’s Gulf Station at 8250 East Main Street. The victim was transported to the Ridgeland Municipal Airport by EMS personnel where he was airlifted to Savannah Memorial Hospital. At the same time, Officers were dispatched to a residence on Wilson Street where a male was found to have been killed stemming from an assault. Michael Hightower was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center under the charge of murder. Evidence collected at the scene was processed and submitted to the SLED Forensics Laboratory for analysis. This case is currently still under investigation.

A Remington .22 caliber rifle was stolen out of a 1990 Chevy pickup truck outside of a residence on East Wilson Street.

Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on Taylor Mill Road.

A Chevrolet and a Ford were involved in a collision at the Rite Aid Pharmacy at 8225 East Main Street. No injuries and minimal damage were reported.

A gray Chevy Silverado was stopped for speeding on I-95 North where driver Leonel Zamora-Guzman was found to be operating under a Florida driver’s license which expired in 2008. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.

A report of illegal drug activity was received regarding a room at the Econo Lodge at 511 James L. Taylor Drive.

A stray pit bull was reported at the intersection of North Green Street and Third Avenue.

Officers responded to an activated alarm at Badcock Furniture at 10213 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.

Officers responded to an activated alarm at Saul’s Funeral Home at 310 West Adams Street.

Officers responded to a welfare check of an individual at Heron Crossing Apartments at 72 Heron Crossing Road.

A disorderly customer was reported at Quality Cleaners at 7709 West Main Street.

A Republic Waste Management truck damaged a section of sidewalk and a sign at the McDonalds Restaurant at 8548 Grahamville Road.

A suspicious vehicle was reported at the Shell Station at 8309 East Main Street.

Officers responded to a domestic dispute at a residence at Logan Lane Apartments at 544 South Logan Street. No charges were filed.

A gold 2011 Lexus struck the side of the building at the KFC Restaurant at 8146 East Main Street. No injuries and minimal damage were reported.

Officers responded to the Computer Outlet store at 10688 South Jacob Smart Boulevard where a customer was becoming disruptive. The customer left upon Officer arrival and no charges were filed.

A red Toyota Camry was stopped for speeding on I-95 South where driver Darien Freeman was found to be operating under a suspended GA drivers license. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.

Officers responded to a domestic dispute at a residence on Shadetree Street inside Carters Mill Estates. No charges were filed.

MAY 5, 2013

Officers responded to an assault and battery incident at Logan Lane Apartments at 544 South Logan Street. Once on scene it was determined that several males had gotten into a fist fight at the basketball court located on Old Logan Street. Medical personnel responded to evaluate the parties involved and none wished to pursue charges.

Officers responded to a loud music complaint at Carters Mill Estates where a subject on the corner of Sailfish and Shadetree Streets was advised to turn his music down. No charges were filed.

Officers responded to a welfare check after a 911 hang up at a residence on North Logan Street.

A possible shoplifting was reported at the Piggly Wiggly grocery store at 10847 North Jacob Smart Boulevard where a juvenile was named as the suspect and released to his parents. No charges were filed.

Officers assisted Jasper County Deputies at the Fordville Road / Oak Hill intersection after receiving a call that several juveniles were running in front of cars. Once on scene Deputies located the father of some of the children Derrick Thomas, 34 of Ridgeland, who was listed as wanted for an outstanding 2006 motor vehicle theft warrant issued by that agency. Deputies placed him under arrest and transported him to the Jasper County Detention Center.

Officers responded to a welfare check at a residence on Captain Bill Road in reference to a child custody dispute. The case was referred to Family Court.

A purse and a jar of change was reported stolen from inside of a vehicle at a residence on Fifth Avenue.

Officers responded to a domestic dispute on Carters Mill Road. No charges were filed.

Ridgeland Officers assisted Jasper County Deputies in response to an activated alarm at the Palmetto Electric building at 4063 Grays Highway.

A complaint of loud music was filed by a resident on North Green Street.

Officers responded to a suspicious vehicle at the Quality Inn at 221 James L. Taylor Drive.

Two suspicious persons were reported at Heron Crossing Apartments.

Officers responded to a vehicle collision involving a Ford Ranger and a Mitsubishi at the Piggly Wiggly grocery store at 10847 North Jacob Smart Boulevard. No injuries were reported.

MAY 3, 2013

A burglary report was filed by a resident on Shadetree Street in Carters Mill Estates where cash, jewelry and electronics were taken. The victim stated that the residence has been broken into three times since Monday but none were reported to Police until today. Evidence collected at the scene has been submitted to the Beaufort County Forensics Laboratory for DNA analysis.

A silver Dodge was stopped for speeding in the parking lot of West End Walk In’s at 7332 West Main Street where driver Himisi Robertson was found to be operating under a suspended driver’s license with a previous driving under suspension conviction. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.

Officers responded to a juvenile welfare check at a residence on First Avenue.

A complaint of dogs at large was filed by a residence on Shadetree Street in Carters Mill Estates.

Officers responded to the Bobops Convenience Store on Grahamville Road in reference to a strong arm robbery. The victim stated that her car had begun to overheat around the 18.5 mile marker on I-95 North where she pulled onto the shoulder to allow it to cool down. She stated that a hunter green vehicle then pulled up behind her and a black male and a white female got out and approached her as if to offer possible assistance when the male punched her in the face knocking her to the ground. The victim stated that the two then took her purse and her cell phone and fled the area last seen headed North on 95.

Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on Oak Plantation Drive.

Officers responded to a single vehicle collision on I-95 South where a vehicle traveling North had left the roadway, crossed over the center median guard wires and came to a rest on the South bound side of the interstate. No injuries were reported.

A loud music complaint was filed by a resident on West Main Street in reference to Ridge Pointe Square.

Clyde Wade was arrested at his job at the McDonalds Restaurant at 8548 Grahamville Road after Ridgeland Police were informed that he had an outstanding arrest warrant from the Beaufort Police Department. He was then transported to Beaufort County where he was turned over to Beaufort Police and transported to the Beaufort County Detention Center.

MAY 2, 2013

Ridgeland Officers assisted Jasper County Deputies in reference to a report of gunshots at the G-Spot club in Wagon Branch.

Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Short Stop BP Station at 10728 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.

Ridgeland Officers and Jasper County Deputies responded to an armed robbery at the Star Point BP Station at 11122 North Jacob Smart Boulevard where the victim was reported to have been robbed of cash and prescription pain killers. The suspect was reported to have been running North towards Captain Bill Road as Officers set up a perimeter. Henry Spann was ultimately located in a wooded area just North of the Devonwood Apartment complex where he was placed under arrest without further incident and found to be in possession of approximately 4 grams of crack cocaine. He was transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.

A report of harassment was filed by a resident of the North Ridge community.

Ridgeland Officers assisted South Carolina Highway Patrol at a collision of Tarboro Road involving a Honda and a Ford Explorer. No injuries were reported.

A tan Chevy Malibu was stopped for speeding on I-95 North where driver Thomas Evans was found to be operating under a suspended drivers license. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.

Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Gretsch building at 248 Grays Highway.

Officers responded to a report of a possible fight in progress inside of a residence on First Avenue. No charges were filed.

Officers responded to the Family Dollar Store at 73 South Green Street in reference to a shoplifting. While en route Officers were advised that the suspect had fled on foot and into a wooded area behind Websters Automotive on South Jacob Smart Boulevard. A perimeter was established and suspect Richard Jenkins was eventually located and placed under arrest. He was transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.

Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on Glover Road.

An intoxicated male was reported at the intersection of North Green and Malphrus Street.

Officers responded to the parking lot of Baytree Apartments at 107 First Avenue after receiving a report of 2 juveniles fighting. No charges were filed.

Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on Live Oak Farm Road.

Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Farm Bureau Insurance building at 9438 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.

A suspicious person was reported at the Days Inn at 8216 East Main Street.
