THE FOLLOWING INCIDENTS ARE AN ACCOUNT OF CALLS AND CASES RESPONDED TO BY OFFICERS OF THE RIDGELAND POLICE DEPARTMENT. THESE CASES ARE CLOSED OR CURRENTLY UNDER INVESTIGATION. DECEMBER 31, 2014

Ridgeland Officers assisted Jasper County Deputies in responding to a domestic dispute at a residence on Oak Hill Road where a male subject reportedly almost hit the female complainant with his vehicle as he fled the residence after choking and striking her. The victim refused to cooperate with responding Officers or provide a written statement regarding the incident.

A loud music complaint was filed at a residence on Shadetree Street in the Carters Mill Estates Community.

Patrol Officers discovered Tommy Lavor Williams lying in the roadway on South Green Street where he was determined to be grossly intoxicated with a blood alcohol level of .21. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.

Officers responded to activated alarms at the Ridgeland Baptist Church at 1448 Grays Highway and the Citgo Station at 107 Sycamore Drive.

A blue Dodge Caravan was stopped for a tag violation on Malphrus Street where driver Richard Adeser III, 20 of Bluffton SC, was found to be operating with no proof of insurance and an outdated address on his South Carolina driver’s license. He was cited and assigned a court date for the offenses before leaving the area as A-1 Towing took possession of the vehicle.

A homeless male complainant filed a harassment report in reference to unwanted telephone calls.

Officers responded to the Waffle House Restaurant at 8185 East Main Street after a report was received that 2 white males were firing guns in the parking lot of Harveys Grocery Store at 8205 East Main Street. Responding Officers discovered the 14 and 16 year old male juveniles on East Wilson Street where they both stated that they had been igniting firecrackers. Both were turned over to the custody of the 16 year old’s Aunt for the remainder of the night.

A report of possible gunshots was filed by a resident on Azalea Avenue.

A civil dispute was reported by a customer at the Star Point BP Station at 11122 North Jacob Smart Boulevard in reference to a malfunctioning cell phone purchased at the business.

A disturbance was reported at the Shell Station at 8309 East Main Street after a possibly intoxicated male began cursing inside of the business.

Ridgeland Officers assisted Jasper County Deputies in responding to the Ridgeland Nursing Center at 1516 Grays Highway where a domestic dispute between an employee and her 20 year old son was occurring in the parking lot. The male subject was ordered to leave the property without further incident.

DECEMBER 30, 2014

A silver Honda CRV was stopped for speeding on I-95 North where driver Cristian Lugo was found to be operating under a suspended New York driver’s license stemming from a failure to pay child support violation as well as displaying a suspended tag and having no valid insurance coverage. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as Eric’s Towing took possession of the vehicle.

A Winnebago motor home and a Cadillac were involved in a collision on I-95 South around the 20 mile marker. No injuries were reported.

Officers responded to an activated alarm at the former Owens Supply Store at 9454 South Jacob Smart Boulevard and the Dollar General Store at 8123 East Main Street.

Bryant Roehm was placed under arrest at a residence on the corner of Wiley and Ingram Street and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center in reference to an outstanding warrant issued by the Ridgeland Police Department. Roehm’s charges stemmed from an October 24th driver safety checkpoint conducted by the 14th Circuit Law Enforcement Network at the exit 18 I-95 interchange where he was cited and assigned a court date after being found operating a white Chevy pickup under a suspended South Carolina driver’s license. He then failed to appear in Ridgeland Municipal Court to answer to the charge on November 17th where he was found guilty during a trial in his absence and a warrant was issued for his arrest.

A suspicious person was reported at the Sunoco Station at 11965 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.

DECEMBER 29, 2014

A welfare check was conducted on an intoxicated female subject at a residence at Baytree Apartments at 107 First Avenue after a relative became concerned for her safety as she made plans to walk to a residence on Shadetree Street in the Carters Mill Estates Community. Elouise Anderson was warned by the responding Officer not to attempt to walk anywhere while under the influence of alcohol to which she agreed to stay at the apartment in Baytree. Approximately 1 hour later Officers spotted her walking in the center of the roadway on Shadetree Street at which time she was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.

Officers responded an activated alarm at the Main Street Pharmacy at 7752 West Main Street.

Three unlocked vehicles were rummaged through during the nighttime hours at a residence on McCormack Avenue. No items were reported missing.

A suspicious person was reported at the Days Inn Motel at 8216 East Main Street.

An open gate was discovered at the Grayco Building Supply Store at 119 Industrial Park Road.

Patrol Officers spotted a black Ford Fusion parked in the center of the courtyard drive at the former Palms Motel at 10735 South Jacob Smart Boulevard where driver Demetrius Swinton, 27 of Ridgeland, was found to be in possession of a quantity of marijuana. He was cited for the offense and assigned a court date before leaving the area.

A lost wallet was reported by a customer at the Bobops Convenience Store at 8548 Grahamville Road.

An outdoor A/C unit was stolen from the Manuel Studios LLC at 516 South Green Street.

DECEMBER 28, 2014

A larceny report was filed at the Handy Dans Exxon Station at 8310 East Main Street in reference to a male subject opening a bottle of creamer without first paying for it and then leaving the store.

A trespassing complaint was filed at the Econo Lodge Motel at 511 James Taylor Drive after Jenna Beckett, 27 of Ridgeland, and Billy Beckett, 26 of Ridgeland, were still in a room past check out time. Both subjects were placed on trespass notice at Management’s request and ordered off of the property without incident.

Officers responded to a domestic dispute at the Waffle House Restaurant at 8185 East Main Street. All parties left the scene without further incident.

A male subject was transported by EMS Personnel from his residence on Live Oak Farm Road to Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeville for a mental health screening and evaluation. He was later transported by Ridgeland Police Officers to the Lowcountry Behavioral Health Clinic in Charleston.

DECEMBER 27, 2014

Ridgeland Officers assisted Jasper County Deputies in responding to Club Pluto at 8812 South Jacob Smart Boulevard where a male subject armed with a handgun was attempting to enter. Antwain Drake, 27 of Ridgeland SC, was placed under arrest by Deputies and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center under the charges of unlawful carry of a handgun and an outstanding General Sessions bench warrant. Drake’s charges stemmed from an April 14, 2014 domestic dispute in the parking lot of Baytree Apartments at 107 First Avenue where he was arrested and charged by the Ridgeland Police Department for numerous charges including possession of cocaine. He then failed to appear in General Sessions Court on October 14th where a jury found him guilty of the charges during a trial in his absence resulting in a sealed sentence warrant being issued for his arrest.

A disturbance was reported on Grays Highway around the Hagin Street intersection where an argument had erupted between two neighboring households.

A black Toyota Sequoia and a silver Honda Accord were involved in a collision on I-95 North around the 21 mile marker. No injuries were reported.

A property damage report was filed in reference to a disabled red Chevy Cavalier which had been left parked on Old House Road around the Summer Hill intersection on the night of December 26th around 9:30 pm. When the owner returned the following day to pick up the vehicle it was found to have suffered broken windows and several gunshots.

Officers responded to activated alarms at the Blue Heron Nature Center at 321 Bailey Lane & two separate activations at the Main Street Pharmacy at 7752 West Main Street.

A suspicious vehicle was reported parked across from a residence on North Green Street.

A gray Lexus RX350 and a black Nissan Rogue were involved in a collision on I-95 North around the 21 mile marker. No injuries were reported.

A red Chevy Tahoe was stopped on Captain Bill Road for a turn signal violation where driver Lavatrice Willis provided the Officer with a relative’s name and date of birth in an attempt to conceal her identity. She was ultimately identified through a photograph at which time she was placed under arrest in reference to outstanding warrants issued by the Ridgeland Police Department. She was transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as the vehicle was released to the registered owner. Willis’ charges stemmed from a May 21, 2014 incident at the El Cheapo Station at 11033 North Jacob Smart Boulevard where she was captured on surveillance video stealing gasoline by driving away without paying. Warrants were then issued charging her with larceny of gasoline, driving under suspension 3rd & habitual traffic offender. Willis was located by Jasper County Deputies responding to her residence on Oak Hill Road during a July 16th domestic dispute but fled out of the back door and into a wooded area when she learned Ridgeland Officers were en route. A second domestic dispute occurred at the same residence on September 10th at which time she was placed under arrest. She was then found guilty of the charges in Ridgeland Municipal Court on September 29th and placed on a time payment plan to settle the Court ordered fines which she failed to comply with resulting in warrants being issued for her arrest. She has also been placed on trespass notice for the El Cheapo Station property.

A civil dispute was reported at the Days Inn Motel at 8216 East Main Street in reference to a disagreement between a tenant and Management regarding payment.

A suspicious person was reported at the Family Dollar Store at 73 South Green Street.

A domestic dispute between two neighbors was reported at Logan Lane Apartments at 544 South Logan Street.

Ridgeland Officers traveled to a residence on Coosaw Scenic Drive where Jasper County Deputies conducting a welfare check on a female subject had detained Carmelia Grayson after discovering she was listed as a wanted person by the Ridgeland Police Department. She was turned over to their custody and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center. Grayson’s charges stemmed from a February 20, 2013 traffic stop at the intersection of Rice Shire and Bees Creek Road where she was arrested and charged for driving under suspension and operating uninsured. She was then found guilty of the charges in Ridgeland Municipal Court on March 25, 2013 and placed on a time payment plan to settle the Court ordered fines which she failed to comply with resulting in warrants being issued for her arrest.

An allegedly aggressive stray German Shepherd was reported on Eleanor Avenue around the Wise Street intersection.

A welfare check was conducted on a vacant residence on the corner of Hagin and Ingram Streets after an open door was discovered.

A brown Cadillac SRX was struck by a white tractor trailer on I-95 South around the 21 mile marker. The tractor trailer continued traveling South and was soon after identified by the tag number and MTI company logo collected by the driver of the Cadillac. Patrol Officers contacted the company for pending collision reports and possible restitution.

DECEMBER 26, 2014

A check previously stolen from a residence on North Green Street was cashed for an undisclosed amount at the Advance Auto Parts Store at 10464 South Jacob Smart Boulevard. Surveillance video will be reviewed for suspect identification and pending charges.

A white Ford F250 pickup was stopped at the Short Stop BP Station at 10728 South Jacob Smart Boulevard after Patrol Officers spotted Larry Malphrus III, who is listed as a wanted person by the Ridgeland Police Department, behind the wheel. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as J&M Towing took possession of the vehicle. Malphrus’ charges stemmed from a December 20, 2014 violation of restraining order after he made numerous telephone calls to the victim. This is Malphrus’ second arrest charge in violation of the same order.

Officers responded to a domestic dispute at a residence on East Wilson Street stemming from a dispute over a child custody issue where one of the parties involved was allegedly assaulted. Four subjects were ordered to leave the property without further incident as the assault victim declined pursuing charges.

A black Chrysler Aspen, a blue Honda Oddysey and a black Lexus RX350 were involved in a collision on I-95 South around the 21 mile marker. No injuries were reported.

A welfare check was conducted at a residence on Shadetree Street and Baytree Apartments after an open 911 call was received by Emergency Services.

Ridgeland Officers assisted Jasper County Deputies in responding to Club Pluto at 8812 South Jacob Smart Boulevard after several gunshots were fired inside of the club during a fight. Prior to Law Enforcement’s arrival, another two gunshots were fired from inside of a vehicle as it left the parking lot.

A silver Honda Accord and a blue Mitsubishi Endeavor were involved in a collision on I-95 South around the 17 mile marker. No injuries were reported.

Officers responded to activated alarms at the Sunoco Station at 11965 North Jacob Smart Boulevard, the Main Street Pharmacy at 7752 West Main Street, the Wright Directions Family Services Center at 60 South Railroad Avenue & two separate activations at the Rite Aid Pharmacy at 8225 East Main Street.

A black Hyundai and a black Pontiac were involved in a collision at the Shell Station at 8309 East Main Street. No injuries were reported.

A distubance was reported at the McDonalds Restaurant at 8548 Grahamville Road in reference to a customer arguing with an employee.

A welfare check was requested on a male subject at a residence on Live Oak Farm Road after he reportedly made statements that he may wish to do harm to himself.

Patrol Officers approached a male subject on North Railroad Avenue after they spotted him defecating by a tree line where he failed to provide his full name or date of birth. After being advised that he was under arrest the suspect resisted the arresting Officer’s verbal commands and attempted to pull away when being taken into custody. He was ultimately detained without further incident and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center where he was soon after positively identified as Melton Williams.

DECEMBER 25, 2014

A gray GMC Envoy suffered damage to the driver’s side front bumper by an unknown person while parked outside of the Taqueria Rocio Restaurant at 7715 West Main Street.

Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Main Street Pharmacy at 7752 West Main Street.

A suspicious vehicle was reported in the parking lot of the Ridgeland Correctional Institution at 5 Correctional Road.

A complaint was filed at a residence on Sailfish Circle in the Carters Mill Estates Community in reference to a child custody dispute.

DECEMBER 24, 2014

A gold Toyota Corolla was stopped at the Handy Dans Gulf Station at 8250 East Main Street after it was identified as being driven by a subject involved in a domestic dispute that occurred moments before at Baytree Apartments at 107 First Avenue. The driver of the vehicle, Torrell Kemp, was found to be in possession of a quantity of marijuana at which point he was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as the vehicle was released to the registered owner. There was no evidence to support any of the conflicting statements made by either party involved in the domestic dispute.

A Lexus GS300 and a Chevy Avalanche were rummaged through while parked and unlocked outside of a residence on Honeycomb Lane in the Bees Creek Plantation Community sometime during the nighttime hours. No items were reported missing.

A suspicious vehicle was reported at the main entrance of the Ridgeland Correctional Institution at 5 Correctional Road.

A black male driving a gold 4 door passenger car was reportedly asking customers and passers by for money at the EZ Stop II at 80 Blue Heron Drive and the Handy Dans Gulf Station at 8250 East Main Street.

Ridgeland Officers traveled to the Beaufort County Detention Center at 100 Ribaut Road in Beaufort where a hold had been placed on inmate Keith Clifton Morris Jr. in reference to an outstanding warrant issued by the Ridgeland Police Department. He was turned over to their custody and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center for warrant service. Morris’ charges stemmed from a November 3, 2014 incident at the Bobops Convenience Store at 8548 Grahamville Road where store Management discovered surveillance video showing him stealing a charity donation jar from the front counter.

A welfare check was conducted at a residence at Baytree Apartments at 107 First Avenue after a male resident reportedly made statements indicating he may wish to do harm to himself.

A white Hyundai Elantra struck a piece of debris in the roadway on I-95 North around the 18 mile marker. No injuries were reported.

A welfare check was conducted at a residence on East Main Street after a 911 hang up call was received by Emergency Services.

DECEMBER 23, 2014

A male pedestrian walking on I-95 North was struck by a 2014 Freightliner tractor trailer around the 22 mile marker. The subject was found to be conscious and alert and was transported by EMS Personnel to Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeville for treatment.

A 38 caliber Smith & Wesson revolver was stolen from an unlocked vehicle parked at a residence on McTeer Street. Two other unlocked vehicles on the property were reportedly rummaged through as well.

Three suspicious Hispanic males were reported inside of the Main Street Pharmacy at 7752 West Main Street.

The rear windshield of a gray Lincoln Town Car was broken out by an unknown person in the parking lot of the Ridgeland Correctional Institution at 5 Correctional Road sometime between 6:00 am and 1:00 pm.

A suspicious vehicle was reported outside of an unoccupied residence on Second Avenue.

A blue Chevy Colorado and a beige Chevy Tahoe were involved in a collision at the intersection of Main Street and Jacob Smart Boulevard. No injuries were reported.

A black iPhone 4S and a blu-ray player were stolen from an unoccupied residence on East Adams Street sometime between December 21st and 23rd. A red Honda with North Carolina plates was seen on the property just prior to the items being discovered missing upon the owner’s return.

An open door was discovered at the St. Paul’s Methodist Church at 7514 West Main Street after three subjects were witnessed climbing the property fence and damaging church property.

A welfare check was requested on a male subject possibly wishing to do harm to himself at a residence on Sisters Ferry Road.

Officers responded to activated alarms at the All Childrens Pediatrics Clinic at 10962 North Jacob Smart Boulevard and the Grayco Building Supply Store at 119 Industrial Park Road.

A welfare check was conducted on a residence on North Green Street after a 911 hang up call was received by Emergency Services.

A vehicle was reportedly broken into at a residence on Wiley Street. No items were reported missing.

A blue Ford Fusion and a white Ford Crown Victoria were involved in a collision on Correctional Road. No injuries were reported.

DECEMBER 22, 2014

Officers responded to the Dollar General Store at 8123 East Main Street where staff members had captured a 16 year old male stealing store items. The suspect was ultimately found to be in possession of a quantity of marijuana and an open container of liquor as well as being listed as a runaway by the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office. He was turned over to Deputies for transport to the Juvenile Detention Facility in Columbia. The same juvenile was arrested under similar charges during an August 21, 2014 shoplifting incident at the Piggly Wiggly Grocery Store at 10847 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.

A suspicious person was reported at the EZ Stop II convenience store at 80 Blue Heron Drive.

A welfare check was conducted on a male dialysis patient at a residence on North Green Street after he failed to answer the front door for an extended period of time.

Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Main Street Pharmacy at 7752 West Main Street.

A white Jeep Liberty was involved in a single vehicle collision on Old House Road when it struck a section of fencing surrounding the Honey Hill Plantation property. No injuries were reported.

DECEMBER 21, 2014

A financial transaction card report was filed by a resident on Brandon Cove in the North Ridge Community after the victim’s Regions Bank Visa debit card was used without permission to make several overnight transactions in Las Vegas, NV.

Ridgeland Officers assisted South Carolina Highway Patrol Officers in responding to a motor vehicle collision involving a BMW, Toyota and a Subaru at the intersection of Lowcountry Drive and Chippa Willow Road. One occupant was found to be deceased upon arrival and another was transported by EMS Personnel to Savannah Memorial Hospital for treatment.

A suspicious person was reported at the Blue Heron Nature Trail.

A black Remington shotgun and a black Browning 9mm Luger handgun were stolen from an unlocked vehicle parked at a residence on North Green Street sometime between 1:00 pm Saturday and 1:00 pm Sunday.

A gold Buick and a red Toyota were involved in a collision on I-95 South around the 17 mile marker. No injuries were reported.

A male subject was reportedly attempting to force entry into a residence on Wall Street.

Officers responded to a residence on Promise Way where a report of an assault was filed in reference to an incident that occurred at a residence on First Avenue. The victim declined pursuing charges.

A domestic dispute between a mother and son was reported at a residence on McCormack Avenue.

Ridgeland Officers assisted South Carolina Highway Patrol Officers in responding to a motor vehicle collision on Highway 462 involving 2 vehicles. Three occupants were transported by EMS Personnel to Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeville for treatment.

DECEMBER 20, 2014

Chris Getsinger turned himself in to Ridgeland Officers at the Jasper County Detention Center in reference to a warrant being issued against him stemming from a December 14, 2014 larceny at the Carolina Lodge Motel at 8260 East Main Street.

Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Main Street Pharmacy at 7752 West Main Street.

A warrant was issued against Larry Seabrook Malphrus III, 28 of Ridgeland, after he made numerous phone calls to a relative’s residence on North Green Street thereby violating a restraining order recently obtained by the victim. Malphrus was previously arrested and charged for violating the same order on November 21st after he was witnessed exiting the North Green Street residence on October 29, 2014.

A blue Chevy Caprice was stopped for an expired tag violation at the intersection of West Adams Street and South Railroad Avenue where driver Christopher Johnson was found to be operating under a suspended South Carolina driver’s license as well as having no proof of valid insurance coverage on the vehicle. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as A-1 Towing took possession of the vehicle.

A bicycle was reportedly stolen from a storage trailer on West Woodlawn Street.

A bag containing numerous toys was stolen from the front seat of a volunteer’s unlocked vehicle in the parking lot of the Ridgeland Alternative School at 456 Grays Highway during a Christmas toy drive. Surveillance footage of the incident has been requested for review and pending charges.

DECEMBER 19, 2014

Ridgeland Officers traveled to the MacDougall Correctional Institution in Ridgeville, SC where a hold had been placed on inmate Marvin Mitchell in reference to outstanding warrants issued against him by the Ridgeland Police Department. He was turned over to their custody and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center. Mitchell’s charges stemmed from a March 22, 2013 traffic stop on East Main Street at the I-95 interchange where he was arrested and charged with driving the wrong way on a one way road, driving under suspension 3rd and simple possession of marijuana. He was then found guilty of the charges in Ridgeland Municipal Court on April 8, 2013 and placed on a time payment plan which he failed to comply with resulting in warrants being issued for his arrest on May 6, 2013. He was later involved in a February 23, 2014 domestic dispute at a residence at Baytree Apartments at 107 First Avenue resulting in a warrant being issued for his arrest under the charge of criminal domestic violence.

A property damage report was filed at the Ridgeland High School at 250 Jaguar Trail after a black Dodge Caliber was damaged with a key during a basketball game sometime between 5:45 and 9:30 pm.

A suspicious vehicle was reported in the parking lot of Baytree Apartments at 107 First Avenue.

A report was received from the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office in reference to a stolen check case in that jurisdiction. The check was then deposited at the Regions Bank ATM at 11004 North Jacob Smart Boulevard on the evening of December 2nd with a forged signature. Surveillance video of the incident has been obtained showing Julie Hayward, 52 of Ridgeland, as being the suspect involved and is being reviewed by Ridgeland Investigators and Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office Detectives for pending charges.

Officers responded to activated alarms at the Spay & Neuter Animal Clinic at 21 Getsinger Street and the Blue Heron Nature Center at 321 Bailey Lane.

A silver Mazda 3 was stopped for speeding on I-95 North around the 21 mile marker where driver Lizz Marie Torres-Sanchez was found to be operating under a suspended Florida driver’s license as well as having no valid insurance coverage. She was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as Eric’s Towing took possession of the vehicle.

A green Kia Soul was stopped for a defective equipment violation at the intersection of North Jacob Smart Boulevard and Highway 278 where driver Bonnie Crouse, 19 of Early Branch SC, was found to be in possession of a quantity of marijuana. She was issued citations and assigned a court date for the offenses before leaving the area.

DECEMBER 18, 2014

A black Chevy Trailblazer was stopped for speeding on Highway 462 at the Zion Oak Church where driver Bruce Fox Jr. was found to be operating under a suspended South Carolina driver’s license for failure to pay traffic fines violations as well as a previous conviction for driving under suspension on his record. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as the vehicle was released to a licensed passenger with Fox’s permission.

A civil dispute was reported at the Econo Lodge Motel at 511 James Taylor Drive in reference to money owed to a former employee.

A juvenile petition was filed against a 11 year old male charging him with larceny in reference to the December 17th theft of an iPhone 4 from the Ridgeland High School at 250 Jaguar Trail. The case was then forwarded to the Department of Juvenile Justice.

A noise complaint was filed in reference to a residence on First Avenue.

A civil dispute was reported at a residence on Timberland Road in reference to money owed on a vehicle. The transaction had reportedly occurred at the Boat & RV Store at 401 Sycamore Drive.

A Ford pickup and a Mercury SUV were involved in a collision at the intersection of Highway 17 and Smiths Crossing. No injuries were reported.

A blue Mazda 6 was stopped for speeding 80 mph on Bees Creek Road as well as an equipment violation where driver Alvian Alvira was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as Elite Towing took possession of the vehicle.

Officers responded to activated alarms at the Rite Aid Pharmacy at 8225 East Main Street and a residence on Brandon Cove in the North Ridge Community.

DECEMBER 17, 2014

Officers responded to a call in the parking lot of the Piggly Wiggly Grocery Store at 10847 North Jacob Smart Boulevard in reference to a male subject in a Dodge Ram pickup stating that he and his friend had been assaulted while smoking crack in a church parking lot. Colin Russell was ultimately placed under arrest after Officers determined him to be under the influence of narcotics as the second subject, Edward Garvin, was placed under arrest in reference to an outstanding bench warrant issued by the Ridgeland Police Department. Both men were transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as Webster’s Towing took possession of the vehicle. Edward Garvin’s charges stemmed from a November 10, 2014 shoplifting incident at the Dollar General Store at 8123 East Main Street where he was placed under arrest and charged with felony property crime enhancement and public disorderly conduct after being captured on surveillance video stealing store items. He then failed to appear in Ridgeland Municipal Court to answer for the disorderly conduct charge on December 8, 2014 where he was found guilty during a trial in absence and a warrant was issued for his arrest.

A trespassing complaint was filed by a resident on East Wilson Street after suspicious items were discovered on the complainant’s vehicle.

Several juveniles were reportedly playing in the roadway on First Avenue.

A male subject possibly overdosing on prescription narcotics became uncooperative with EMS Personnel responding to the residence on Live Oak Farm Road. He was ultimately detained after becoming combative with Ridgeland Police Officers and Jasper County Deputies and transported by EMS to Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeville for treatment.

A white iPhone 4 was reportedly stolen from a student during a band performance at the Ridgeland High School at 250 Jaguar Trail.

Jenna and Billy Beckett were placed under arrest at the Carolina Lodge Motel in Hampton after warrants were issued against them stemming from a December 14, 2014 theft of a television at the Carolina Lodge Motel at 8260 East Main Street in Ridgeland. Both suspects were taken to the Hampton County Detention Center where they were turned over to the custody of Ridgeland Police Officers and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center for warrant service.

A report of possible illegal drug activity was reported at Turpin Park at 901 North Logan Street.

Officers responded to activated alarms at the Star Point BP Station at 11122 North Jacob Smart Boulevard and the Rite Aid Pharmacy at 8225 East Main Street.

DECEMBER 16, 2014

A report was filed in reference to a collision that occurred on yesterday’s date at the Shell Station at 8309 East Main Street where a red Honda Accord reportedly backed into a black Hyundai Elantra. Neither party involved contacted Law Enforcement at the time of the collision.

Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on Eleanor Avenue.

A suspicious vehicle was reported parked outside of the main gate at the Ridgeland Correctional Institution at 5 Correctional Road.

A civil dispute was reported in reference to an ATV sold at the ATV Warehouse at 8167 East Main Street.

A domestic dispute between two males was reported at a residence on South Logan Street.

A complaint was filed by a resident at Baytree Apartments at 107 First Avenue in reference to a male subject being on the property who was previously placed on trespass notice.

DECEMBER 15, 2014

A green Buick was stopped for speeding on Tillman Road where the driver provided Officers with a fictitious name in an effort to conceal his identity. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center where he was ultimately positively identified as James Antoine Robinson who is listed as a wanted person by the Liberty County Sheriff’s Office in Georgia for an outstanding larceny warrant. The vehicle was released to the registered owner Holyoka Williams, 32 of Claxton GA, after she was issued a citation and assigned a court date for allowing an unauthorized driver.

Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Jasper County Magistrates Office at 967 West Adams Street.

A black Jeep Cherokee was reported in the parking lot of the Ridgeland High School at 250 Jaguar Trail with an unrestrained child inside of the vehicle.

A suspicious vehicle was reported at the basketball court in the Carters Mill Estates Community.

Rodney Hugue was placed under arrest at the Short Stop BP Station at 10728 South Jacob Smart Bouelvard and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center after Patrol Officers spotted him entering the store. Hugue’s charges stemmed from a November 13, 2013 larceny at the Appliance Depot at 107 Brabham Street where he was captured on surveillance video stealing store items while employed there. He was arrested for the offense on November 18, 2013 and found guilty of the charges in Ridgeland Municipal Court on December 9, 2013 at which time he was placed on a time payment plan to settle the Court ordered fines which he failed to comply with resulting in a warrant being issued for his arrest.

A welfare check was conducted at the Siesta Motel at 10530 South Jacob Smart Boulevard after suspicious noises were heard coming from a vacant room.

A domestic dispute was reported between a mother and her 15 year old son on Grays Highway following an argument that ensued when he refused to go to school.

Officers traveled to the Jasper County Detention Center at 12008 North Jacob Smart Boulevard where a hold had been placed in inmate Amber Seiy in reference to an outstanding warrant issued by the Ridgeland Police Department. Seiy’s charges stemmed from a September 5, 2014 incident at the Piggly Wiggly Grocery Store at 10847 North Jacob Smart Boulevard where she was captured on surveillance video stealing store items before fleeing the area when confronted by Management.

DECEMBER 14, 2014

An assault was reported at the Carolina Lodge Motel at 8260 East Main Street after a black male knocked on a tenant’s door and struck the female who answered. The suspect then forced his way inside and began rummaging through the room before fleeing the area on foot after 911 was called.

A suspicious vehicle was reported parked in front of a residence on North Green Street.

A gold Dodge Caliber was stopped for speeding on South Jacob Smart Boulevard at the Mango Drive intersection where driver Alex Ponce was found to be in possession of a quantity of marijuana and a loaded 40 caliber handgun. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as the vehicle was released to a licensed passenger with Ponce’s permission.

Officer responded to activated alarms at the Sunoco Station at 11965 North Jacob Smart Boulevard and the Short Stop BP Station at 10728 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.

Two LG 32″ LED televisions were stolen from two separate rooms at the Carolina Lodge Motel at 8260 East Main Street. A warrant affidavit has been filed against Richard J. Bozard, 31 of Ridgeland, charging him with larceny and against Edward D. Garvin, 51 of Ridgeland, charging him with felony property crime enhancement.

A suspicious vehicle was reported at the Short Stop BP Station at 10728 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.

An undisclosed amount of currency was stolen from the center console of a black GMC Envoy left unlocked in front of the Taqueria Rocio store at 7715 West Main Street at approximately 8:30 pm. Evidence collected from the vehicle has been submitted to the SLED Forensics Laboratory for suspect identification and pending charges.

DECEMBER 13, 2014

An assault was reported during a dispute between a male and a female at a residence at Woodridge Apartments at 414 South Logan Street where the male party fled the area when Law Enforcement was called. After collecting evidence and statements a warrant affidavit was filed against Jonathan Stevenson, 29 of Ridgeland, charging him with assault & battery 3rd.

An orange outdoor extension cord was stolen out of an open garage from a residence on Wise Street.

A hunting dog wearing a tracker was reported on Bees Creek Road at the Hummingbird Drive intersection just before noon. It was last seen running East towards the exit 18 area.

Officers responded to activated alarms at the Badcock Furniture Store at 10213 South Jacob Smart Boulevard, the Main Street Pharmacy at 7752 West Main Street and the Sunoco Station at 11965 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.

A welfare check was conducted at a residence on South Green Street after an open line 911 call was received.

Two separate loud music complaints were received in reference to a residence on Shadetree Street in the Carters Mill Estates Community.

A suspicious vehicle was reported at a residence on North Green Street.

A domestic incident was reported at a residence at Logan Lane Apartments at 544 South Logan Street in reference to a female being locked out of the apartment.

A bicycle was reported missing from a residence on Wise Street and was later found discarded in the roadway on Augusta Avenue. The victim did not wish to pursue charges.

Officers responding to an activated alarm at a residence on South Logan Street discovered a broken pane of glass indicative of someone attempting to break in before being frightened away by the alarm. No items were reported missing from the residence.

A theft report was filed in reference to a cell phone being stolen from the Dollar General Store at 8123 East Main Street at approximately 7:00 pm on Sunday December 7th.

Officers responded to activated alarms at the Kingdom Touch Ministries Church at 6714 Tillman Road and assisted Jasper County Deputies in responding to an activation at Blatchley Tire & Auto at 10015 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.

A Nissan and a Lincoln were involved in a collision in front of the Main Street Pharmacy at 7752 West Main Street. No injuries were reported.

A report of gunshots being fired was filed by a resident on West Adams Street.

A heavyset black male was reportedly asking customers and passers by for money in front of the Ridgeland Post Office at 7554 West Main Street.

DECEMBER 11, 2014

A theft report was filed by a property owner at a residence on West Adams Street after a recently evicted tenant removed several of the home’s appliances from the property when moving out. A warrant has been issued against Sakina Johnson Ferguson, 37 of Ridgeland, charging her with larceny.

A noise complaint was filed in reference to music coming from the Farmers Market at 9935 South Jacob Smart Boulevard during a leased event.

A Husqvarna riding mower and a black 6×10′ utility trailer were stolen from a residence on Pinckney Court sometime between 3:00 pm on December 10th and 6:00 pm on December 11th after being left unsecured in the front yard.

A welfare check was conducted at a residence on Captain Bill Road.

A harassment complaint was filed by a subject at the Star Point BP Station at 11122 North Jacob Smart Boulevard after a female subject allegedly threatened him violating a previously issued no contact order.

A complaint was filed by a resident on Ike Street in reference to several juveniles loitering in the roadway.

A Honda Accord was involved in a single vehicle collision on I-95 South when it struck a piece of debris in the roadway around the 18 mile marker. No injuries were reported.

A subject was captured on surveillance video stealing a Husqvarna 389 XPT chainsaw from the bed of a truck belonging to a tenant at the Quality Inn Motel at 221 James Taylor Drive around 2:00 am.

A civil dispute was filed by the Property Manager at Heron Crossing Apartments at 72 Heron Crossing Drive in reference to formerly evicted tenants returning to the property.

Two male subjects were reportedly skateboarding at the Piggly Wiggly Grocery Store at 10847 North Jacob Smart Boulevard despite being told not to by Store Management. They were later spotted skating in the roadway in front of the Bank of Walterboro at 8058 East Main Street.

A domestic dispute was reported at a residence on Forrest Drive in reference to a 16 year old incorrigible juvenile refusing to go to school.

Julie Hayward turned herself in to Officers at the Ridgeland Police Department in reference to a warrant being issued against her stemming from a December 1, 2014 theft of a wallet at the Rite Aid Pharmacy at 8225 East Main Street. She was transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.

A domestic dispute between a female complainant and her elderly mother was reported at a residence on North Green Street.

A report of gunshots being fired was filed by a residence in the Carters Mill Estates Community.

A welfare check was requested at a residence on Oak Plantation Drive after the homeowner heard noises outside of the home.

A suspicious person was reported at the EZ Stop II Store at 80 Blue Heron Drive.

A male subject was reportedly asking customers and passers by for money in the parking lot of the Dollar General Store at 8123 East Main Street.

DECEMBER 9, 2014

A white Mercury Sable was stopped for driving without headlights as it turned into the parking lot of the McDonalds Restaurant at 8548 Grahamville Road. When the Officer began his approach towards the vehicle the driver sped forward in an aggressive manner initiating a pursuit. The suspect vehicle then turned onto Kelmont Drive where the driver and front seat passenger exited and fled the area on foot after coming to a large gate blocking the roadway. The owner of the suspect vehicle, Toire Hanley, was removed from the back seat where he was found to be in possession of a quantity of marijuana and crack cocaine. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as Scott’s Automotive took possession of the vehicle.

A red Toyota Corolla was stopped for speeding on Highway 462 where driver Alfredo Galindo-Rodriguez was found to be operating without a driver’s license. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as J&M Towing took possession of the vehicle.

A fraud report was filed by a Grays Highway resident after numerous unauthorized charges appeared on his South State Bank credit card statement.

Officers responded to the parking lot of Logan Lane Apartments at 544 South Logan Street after information was received identifying an armed subject sitting inside of a vehicle in the parking lot. Temarcus Omari Fields was discovered behind the wheel of a blue Kia Soul in possession of a large quantity of marijuana, a loaded 9mm handgun and a quantity of crack cocaine. Further investigation revealed him to be listed as a wanted person with the Lamar County GA Sheriff’s Office stemming from an outstanding narcotics warrant. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as Little T’s Towing took possession of the vehicle. Fields’ criminal history revealed numerous felony convictions prohibiting him from possessing a firearm or ammunition.

James Pedrick was discovered intoxicated walking South on I-95 around the 18 mile marker where he was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.

A domestic dispute between a female and a reportedly intoxicated male occurred at a residence on Wiley Street.

Jasper County Deputies traveled to the Hampton County Detention Center where a hold had been placed on inmate Odis Rhoden in reference to outstanding armed robbery and kidnapping warrants. He was turned over to their custody and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center where Ridgeland Officers served 2 outstanding forgery warrants issued against him by the Ridgeland Police Department on May 29, 2014 stemming from a stolen check cashed at the Regions Bank at 11004 North Jacob Smart Boulevard and another at the Check Into Cash Store at 8225-D East Main Street.

Gerald Wright was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center from the Jaspers Porch Restaurant at 153 James Taylor Drive in reference to outstanding warrants issued against him by the Ridgeland Police Department. Wright’s charges stemmed from a December 4, 2012 traffic stop for an improper turn and defective equipment violation at the Regions Bank at 11004 North Jacob Smart Boulevard where he was arrested and charged after being found to be operating a gray Dodge Ram pickup under a suspended South Carolina driver’s license. He was then found guilty of the charges in Ridgeland Municipal Court on December 17, 2012 and placed on a time payment plan to settle the Court ordered fines which he failed to comply with resulting in warrants being issued for his arrest.

Offiers responded to activated alarms at the Rite Aid Pharmacy at 8225 East Main Street and the Southeast Pyrotechnics Warehouse at 11142 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.

Ellen Williford, Lanteena James and Stormie Williford turned themselves in to Officers at the Ridgeland Police Deparmtment in reference to outstanding warrants issued against them stemming from a December 8, 2014 assault at the Pratt Memorial Library at 451 East Wilson Street. All suspects were transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.

DECEMBER 8, 2014

Nafeast Patrick was arrested and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center after being sentenced to a total of 70 days in jail at Ridgeland Municipal Court. He was found guilty of charges stemming from an October 25, 2014 traffic stop at the Pizza Hut Restaurant at 10856 North Jacob Smart Boulevard where he was arrested under charges of improper passing, driving under suspension, operating uninsured & failure to register vehicle.

A cell phone was reported stolen from a residence on North Logan Street after a subject inquiring about items for sale was left alone with it. A warrant affidavit has been filed against Henry Shawn Spann, 33 of Ridgeland, for the theft.

A harassment complaint was filed by a female subject after 2 vehicles began following her from the Dollar General Store at 8123 East Main Street in reference to alleged shoplifting warrants against her. All subjects involved pulled into the Ridgeland Police Department parking lot where the accusers were advised that there are no outstanding warrants against the female and ordered to cease following her.

A welfare check was requested at a residence at Ridge Point Apartments at 669 North Green Street in reference to a male subject possibly attempting to damage the complainant’s vehicle due to an ongoing dispute.

Officers responded to the Pratt Memorial Library at 451 East Wilson Street after a male and female were assaulted in the parking lot by 4 subjects who fled the area when 911 was called. The assault reportedly stems from an earlier incident at the Ridgeland High School at 250 Jaguar Trail. After collecting evidence and witness statements warrant affidavits were filed against Ellen Michelle Williford, 38 of Hardeeville, Ja’von Tyrique Young, 18 of Hardeeville, Stormie Michele Williford, 17 of Hardeeville and Lenteena Channel James, 17 of Hardeeville, charging each with assault & battery 2nd.

A white Ford Explorer was stopped for speeding on I-95 North where driver David Merida-Angeles was found to be operating without a driver’s license. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as Eric’s Towing took possession of the vehicle.

A suspicious vehicle was reported in front of the Ridgeland High School at 250 Jaguar Trail.

A domestic dispute between a mother and son was reported at the Carolina Lodge Motel at 8260 East Main Street.

Two stray dogs were reported in the parking lot of the Short Stop BP Station at 10728 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.

A Volvo S70 being driven by Calletano Cordova Santibanez struck a Nissan Maxima parked outside of a residence on Shadetree Street in the Carters Mill Estates Community pushing it into the underpinning of the home. Santibez then fled the scene parking the Volvo in the driveway of another residence and exiting. After gathering physical evidence and witness statements Santibez was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center. He has previously been arrested and charged with no driver’s license and driving under suspension offenses by Ridgeland Officers on February 11, 2014, September 27, 2014 & October 7, 2014. In addition, he was arrested and charged with driving under the influence & no driver’s license during a traffic stop with South Carolina Highway Patrol Officers on December 25, 2011. No injuries were reported in today’s collision.

Officers responded to a domestic dispute at a residence on Dolphin Drive in the Carters Mill Estates Community after one of the parties involved took several items from the residence before leaving including a checkbook that did not belong to him.

A suspicious vehicle was reported on Hagin Drive.

A domestic dispute was reported at a residence on Hagin Drive; however the complainant declined on filing a report to document the incident.

DECEMBER 6, 2014

A report of possible criminal sexual conduct was filed at a residence at Baytree Apartments at 107 First Avenue after a 14 year old female was allegedly assaulted by her 36 year old cousin who is a registered sex offender. This case is currently under investigation.

A white Chevy Tahoe was stopped for speeding on I-95 North where driver Taylor Bagwell was found to be operating under a suspended South Carolina driver’s license. She was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as Elite Towing took possession of the vehicle.

A white Ford F150 pickup was struck by a dark colored late model Toyota which immediately fled the area at the intersection of South Jacob Smart Boulevard and Woodlawn Street. No injuries were reported.

A black male was reportedly causing a disturbance inside of the Burger King Restaurant at 8257 East Main Street after becoming irate and cursing at employees. The subject left the area prior to Law Enforcement arrival.

A welfare check was requested at the Carolina Lodge Motel at 8260 East Main Street after shouting was heard coming from inside of one of the guest rooms.

A suspicious white male armed with a gun was reported at a residence on Gamecock Circle after knocking on the complainant’s door stating that someone was trying to kill him. The subject left the area when the homeowner called 911.

A property damage report was filed by a resident on North Logan Street in reference to the complainant’s white Honda Accord suffering a broken window and a damaged hood. This incident reportedly occurred on December 5, 2014 in the parking lot of Baytree Apartments at 107 First Aveneu following a dispute between 2 females at Club Oceans at 8812 South Jacob Smart Boulevard. The complainant stated that a report was not filed when the incident actually occurred due to her being hospitalized.

A High Point 40 caliber handgun was turned over to Patrol Officers after a homeowner discovered it lying by the roadside on East Langford Street on Friday morning.

A suspicious vehicle was reported at the KFC Restaurant at 8146 East Main Street.

A black Chevy Suburban and a blue Hyundai Azera were involved in a collision in the parking lot of the Dollar General Store at 8123 East Main Street. No injuries were reported.

A green Ford Escort wagon was stopped after failing to yield the right of way as the driver exited the Econo Lodge Motel at 511 James Taylor Dr where driver James Mitchell Jr. was found to be operating under a suspended South Carolina driver’s license stemming from a failure to pay violation. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as the vehicle was released to a licensed acquaintance of the arrestee with his permission.

A report of fireworks being fired within the city limits was filed after 2 subjects were observed igniting them outside of Devonwood Apartments at 137 Captain Bill Road.

A civil dispute was reported by a tenant at the Siesta Motel at 10530 South Jacob Smart Boulevard in reference to personal property dispursment between 2 former roommates.

DECEMBER 5, 2014

Officers responded to a disturbance at Baytree Apartments at 107 First Avenue after two vehicles carrying several males armed with handguns pulled into the parking lot in what was reportedly a response to a dispute that occurred earlier in the evening between 2 females at Club Pluto at 8812 South Jacob Smart Boulevard. Both vehicles left the apartment complex after becoming aware that Law Enforcement was en route and a description was issued to surrounding agencies. Later in the evening a Jasper County Deputy spotted one of the vehicles on Tillman Road at which time the driver stopped and all occupants immediately exited and fled from the area on foot.

A report of gunshots being fired was reported on Shadetree Street in the Carters Mill Estates Community.

A domestic dispute was reported at a residence at Heron Crossing Apartments at 313 Heron Crossing Road. One of the parties left the area and the other refused to file a report regarding the incident.

A suspicious person was reported at a residence on Tillman Road.

Officers responded to a domestic dispute at a residence on Shadetree Street in the Carters Mill Estates Community where an argument over car keys reportedly turned physical before the suspect fled the area as 911 was called. After gathering evidence from the scene a warrant affidavit was filed against Rafael Vila-Gomez, 26 of Ridgeland, charging him with criminal domestic violence.

DECEMBER 4, 2014

Officers responded to a residence on South Logan Street after the homeowner discovered a tear in one of the residence window screens indicative of someone attempting to remove it.

A disturbance was reported at the Ridgeland Weekly Rentals at 67 West Woodlawn Street in reference to a female on scene causing engaged in an argument with a relative.

A report was filed in reference to a residence in the Oakridge Trailer Park Community at 700 North Green Street after information was received from NC authorities concerning possible threats made towards children inside the residence.

Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Wright Directions Family Services Center at 60 South Railroad Avenue.

A white Jaguar was stopped on North Logan Street after Patrol Officers spotted Grace Hudson inside of the vehicle who was known to be listed as a wanted person by the Ridgeland Police Department in reference to a November 16, 2014 assault at the Handy Dans Gulf Station at 8250 East Main Street. She was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as Little T’s Towing took possession of the vehicle.

Two subjects were reportedly involved in an argument in the parking lot of Logan Lane Apartments at 544 South Logan Street.

An armed male was reported behind the Carolina Lodge Motel at 8260 East Main Street.

Kayla Kilpatrick, 26 of Ridgeland, was placed on trespass notice at Heron Crossing Apartments at 72 Heron Crossing Drive at the Property Manager’s request.

Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on Rosa Lee Wright Lane.

Miranda Major was placed under arrest at her residence at Logan Lane Apartments at 544 South Logan Street after warrants were issued against her as well as co-defendant Stormy McCroy in reference to an October 1, 2014 assault at the Star Point BP Station at 11122 North Jacob Smart Boulevard. Stormy McCroy arrived at the Ridgeland Police Department a short time later to turn herself in without incident. Both suspects were transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.

Four suspicious males were reported in the parking lot of the Siesta Motel at 10530 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.

A red Oldsmobile was involved in a single vehicle collision on I-95 North around the 22 mile marker when the driver lost control and struck the center median guard wires crossing underneath and coming to a rest on the Southbound side of the interstate. No injuries were reported.

A domestic dispute between a mother and son was reported at the Carolina Lodge at 8260 East Main Street.

An open rear door was discovered at the Queen Nails Salon at 8120 East Main Street.

Two male subjects were reportedly arguing with another in the parking lot of the Burger King Restaurant at 8257 East Main Street over an illegal drug transaction.

DECEMBER 2, 2014

A civil dispute was reported by a former tenant at Heron Crossing Apartments at 72 Heron Crossing Road in reference to personal property being removed following an eviction process.

A theft was reported at a residence on Oakridge South in the Oakridge Trailer Park Community at 700 North Green Street in reference to an undisclosed amount of cash missing from a bedroom.

A Honda CR-V and a Mercedes sport utility were involved in a collision at the intersection of Main Street and North Jacob Smart Boulevard. No injuries were reported.

Officers traveled to the Beaufort County Detention Center at 100 Ribaut Road in Beaufort where a hold had been placed on inmate Jeremiah Shaw in reference to outstanding warrants issued by the Ridgeland Police Department. He was transferred to the custody of Ridgeland Officers and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center. Shaw’s charges stemmed from a February 20, 2014 incident at the Carolina Lodge Motel at 8260 East Main Street where he was arrested and charged with trespassing and malicious injury to property after breaking into a vacant room. He was then found guilty of the charges in Ridgeland Municipal Court on March 31, 2014 and placed on a time payment plan to settle the Court ordered fines which he failed to comply with resulting in a warrant being issued for his arrest.

An open door was discovered at the DSS Office at 10908 North Jacob Smart Boulevard. The building was found to be empty with no signs of any criminal activity.

A Kia mini van and a Chevy Tahoe were involved in a collision in the parking lot of the Star Point BP Station at 11122 North Jacob Smart Boulevard. No injuries were reported.

Paris Taylor was placed under arrest at her residence on Shadetree Street in the Carters Mill Estates Community and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center in reference to an outstanding warrant issued against her following a December 1, 2014 shoplifting charge at the Family Dollar Store at 73 South Green Street.

A civil dispute was reported at the Heron Crossing Apartments leasing office at 72 Heron Crossing Road in reference to a former employee refusing to return business property.

DECEMBER 1, 2014

A green Volkswagen Passat was stopped for speeding on I-95 North where driver Salvatore Gagiulo was found to be in possession of a quantity of marijuana. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as J&M Towing took possession of the vehicle.

A forgery report was filed by a resident on North Green Street after 2 checks belonging to the complainant were cashed by a relative for undisclosed amounts at locations in Hardeeville and Okatie. The case was forwarded to the Hardeeville Police Department and the Bluffton Police Department.

A loitering complaint was filed at a residence at Logan Lane Apartments at 544 South Logan Street in reference to subjects hanging around in the parking lot.

A wallet was reported stolen from the front register area of the Rite Aid Pharmacy at 8225 East Main Street after the complainant accidentally left the store without it. Another customer in line then fraudulently claimed ownership of the wallet and left the premises with it in hand. After reporting the theft the wallet was shortly after returned to the rightful owner by an acquaintance of the suspect with an undisclosed amount of cash missing.

A 2 year old child was reportedly locked inside of a vehicle at a residence on Carriage Way. The child was shortly after removed from the vehicle unharmed.

A Chevy Silverado and a Chrysler PT Cruiser were involved in a collision on East Main Street at the I-95 interchange. No injuries were reported.

Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on Azalea Avenue and two separate activations at the Ridgeland Coin Laundry at 10246 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.

A welfare check was conducted on a subject in the parking lot of the Shell Station at 8309 East Main Street.

A review of surveillance video at the Family Dollar Store at 73 South Green Street revealed a November 30, 2014 shoplifiting incident in which Paris Alexandria Taylor, 19 of Ridgeland, was captured on tape stealing numerous items from the store. A warrant affidavit has been filed against Taylor for the offense.
