THE FOLLOWING INCIDENTS ARE AN ACCOUNT OF CALLS AND CASES RESPONDED TO BY OFFICERS OF THE RIDGELAND POLICE DEPARTMENT. THESE CASES ARE CLOSED OR CURRENTLY UNDER INVESTIGATION. AUGUST 31, 2015

8:41 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the New Hong Kong Restaurant at 8176 East Main Street.

8:55 a.m. – An assault was reported at the Star Point BP Station at 11122 North Jacob Smart Boulevard after a male subject was struck in the face by a coworker during a dispute.

9:20 a.m. – A gold Honda Accord was involved in a single vehicle collision on Highway 462 at the Salzburg Landing intersection after the driver lost control and struck a roadside drainage ditch. No injuries were reported.

9:47 a.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North around the 14 mile marker in reference to a blue and white tractor trailer.

11:32 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Kingdom Touch Ministries Church at 6714 Tillman Road.

12:39 p.m. – A property damage report was filed at a business on Brabham Street after several pry marks were discovered on a rear door.

1:27 p.m. – A black Audi A6 was stopped in the parking lot of the Shell Station at 8309 East Main Street after a check of the tag revealed the vehicle to be listed as stolen from a Clearwater FL dealership. Harry Joseph Britton Jr. and Brigit N. Britton were both placed under arrest without incident and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as Little T’s Towing took possession of the vehicle. Harry Britton received an additional misdemeanor charge after a check of his Florida driver’s license information showed it to currently be under a state of suspension.

2:28 p.m. – A black 2004 Chevy Silverado standard cab pickup bearing SC tag number CCM-225 was reported stolen from a residence on South Jacob Smart Boulevard sometime between Thursday August 27th and today’s date.

3:16 p.m. – Jasper County Dispatchers received an open 911 line call originating from the area of the Econo Lodge Motel at 511 James Taylor Drive where two or more individuals were heard carrying on a conversation about illegal drug activity. Responding Officers in the area observed three males in a wooded area between the motel and the Moonshine Distillery, all of whom immediately fled on foot upon seeing Police presence. Two of the subjects were captured on Bailey Lane as the third, Christian Burkhardt, continued running but was ultimately taken into custody following a brief foot pursuit. A search of his person incident to arrest revealed him to be in possession of a quantity of marijuana prior to being transported to the Jasper County Detention Center. The other two males, one 16 and one 19, were released without further incident.

3:20 p.m. – A harassment complaint was filed at a residence on Sailfish Circle in the Carters Mill Estates Community in reference to an ongoing dispute between two separate households of children between the ages of 6 and 9.

5:08 p.m. – A white Ford Ranger was involved in a single vehicle collision on Highway 17 around the Mango Drive intersection after the driver lost control and struck a roadside drainage ditch. He was transported by EMS Personnel to Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeville for treatment.

6:42 p.m. – A civil dispute was reported at a residence on Captain Bill Road in reference to property left in the home.

7:22 p.m. – A Werner A-frame step ladder was reported stolen from a the outside of a residence on Wise Street sometime between Saturday August 29th and Sunday August 30th.

11:44 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 27 mile marker in reference to a Fedex tractor trailer.

AUGUST 30, 2015

12:49 a.m. – A Hyundai Elantra was stopped for an expired tag violation in the parking lot of the New Hong Kong Restaurant at 8176 East Main Street where driver Aaron Emanuel Deveaux, 18 of Ridgeland, was found to be operating in violation of his beginner’s permit restrictions.He was cited for the offenses and assigned a court date before leaving the area.

9:36 a.m. – A verbal dispute between a male and a female was reported at a residence on Jaudon Street.

10:59 a.m. – A civil dispute between an estranged couple regarding a child custody exchange was reported in the parking lot of the EZ Stop IV Station at 80 Blue Heron Drive.

11:23 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Bennett Law Firm Office at 1130 Third Avenue.

1:15 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 32 mile marker in reference to a white pickup towing a horse trailer.

1:31 p.m. – Officers responded to the Carters Mill Estates Community after two groups of children arguing with one another erupted into their Mothers arguing in the roadway while one was armed with a board and the other with a bat. There was no physical contact or injuries reported and Akira J. Nelson, 25 of Ridgeland, was placed on trespass notice for a residence on Sailfish Circle at the homeowner’s request prior to the Officer’s departure.

1:38 p.m. – A 911 call was received from a 30 year old female at the Southeast Pyrotechnics Warehouse at 11142 North Jacob Smart Boulevard stating that her son had climbed out onto the roof of the business and her sister was climbing out after him. Responding Officers ultimately determined that the caller’s son was in Louisiana and her sister was in Florida at which point she was warned about the penalties for misuse of an emergency line.

4:14 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 48 mile marker in reference to a black Mercury Grand Marquis.

7:13 p.m. – A white female involved in an earlier incident at the Southeast Pyrotechnics Warehouse was reportedly asking customers and passers by for money in the parking lot of the EZ Stop IV Station at 80 Blue Heron Drive.

AUGUST 29, 2015

1:51 a.m. – Ridgeland Officers assisted Jasper County Deputies in responding to a residence on Ashton Place in reference to a report of a white female continuously knocking on the complainant’s door. Upon arrival in the area Elizabeth English Lowther, 33 of Ridgeland SC, was found standing in the roadway at the intersection of Sweet William and Old House Road where Deputies placed her under arrest and transported her to the Jasper County Detention Center under the charge of public drunkenness.

3:17 a.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 30 mile marker in reference to a blue tractor trailer.

9:08 a.m. – A stray gray and white pit bull wearing a leather collar was reported wandering in the area of Highway 462 and Salzburg Landing. The animal was taken to the Jasper County Animal Rescue Mission at 1352 Carters Mill Road, (843-726-7799).

12:17 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North around the 12 mile marker in reference to a black Toyota Celica convertible.

12:22 p.m. – A property damage report was filed at a residence on Shadetree Street in the Carters Mill Estates Community after a stone was thrown through a window.

1:25 p.m. – A theft was reported by a Varnville resident after the victim’s bank statement revealed unauthorized debit card transactions at the Ridgeland Quality Inn Motel at 221 James Taylor Drive.

4:35 p.m. – A verbal domestic dispute between a mother and son was reported at a residence on North Green Street.

9:16 p.m. – Officers responded to a report of a suspicious person in the Oakridge Trailer Park Community at 700 North Green Street where Tiffany Tackett was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center after being found intoxicated in the middle of the roadway.

10:01 p.m. – A complaint was filed at the Carolina Lodge Motel at 8260 East Main Street in reference to a high volume of traffic coming in and out of a tenant’s room.

10:58 p.m. – A group of males in a black pickup were reportedly consuming alcohol in the parking lot of the EZ Stop IV Station at 80 Blue Heron Drive.

AUGUST 28, 2015

5:21 a.m. – A blue Chevy Camaro was stopped for speeding on South Jacob Smart Boulevard around the South Green Street intersection where driver Latoya Garcia was found to be operating while under the influence of alcohol. She was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as J&M Towing took possession of the vehicle.

8:17 a.m. – A red Toyota Camry was stopped for speeding on North Green Street around the Malphrus Street intersection where driver Detra Lakee Wright was found to be operating under a suspended South Carolina driver’s license stemming from failure to pay traffic ticket violations as well as having an unrestrained child inside of the vehicle. She was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as Little T’s Towing took possession of the vehicle. The child was turned over to the custody of a female friend called to the scene by Wright.

8:35 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Ridgeland Boys & Girls Club at 913 Grays Highway.

9:55 a.m. – A gray Buick Rainier was stopped for speeding on I-95 South around the 22 mil marker where driver Chad Antoine Smith was found to be operating with no valid insurance coverage on the vehicle as well as displaying a suspended tag. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as Scott’s Automotive took possession of the vehicle.

12:31 p.m. – A tractor trailer was reportedly blocking traffic in front of the Jasper Hair Boutique at 10688 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.

1:00 p.m. – A driver safety checkpoint was conducted by Ridgeland Officers at the intersection of Captain Bill Road and Preacher Street resulting in citations being issued for 7 driver’s license violations 2 driving under suspension violations and 1 expired tag violations.

1:06 p.m. – A black Chevy Impala was stopped for a turn signal violation on South Jacob Smart Boulevard at the Smith’s Crossing intersection where driver Kevin Michael Carmichael was found to be operating under a suspended South Carolina driver’s license stemming from a previous DUI conviction. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as Webster’s Towing took possession of the vehicle.

3:45 p.m. – A driver safety checkpoint was conducted by Ridgeland Officer on Sisters Ferry Road between Wood Duck and Adams Street resulting in citations being issued for 2 driver’s license violations and 1 beginner’s permit violation.

6:39 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 50 mile marker in reference to a silver BMW sport utility vehicle.

8:39 p.m. – A gray Jeep Patriot and a burgundy Honda Civic were involved in a collision on Bees Creek Road near the Fordville intersection. No injuries were reported.

9:46 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on Highway 17 around the exit18 area in reference to a blue Ford F150 pickup.

10:11 p.m. – A noise complaint was filed at a residence on Live Oak Farm Road in reference to loud music coming from a neighboring home.

10:48 p.m. – A burgundy pickup and a black pickup were reportedly racing on Grays Highway traveling East near the Malphrus Road intersection.

11:09 p.m. – A gold Nissan Maxima was stopped for numerous moving violations as well as missing a driver’s side head lamp on Old House Road at the Live Oak Farm intersection where driver Tanya Renee Randolph was found to be operating under the influence. She was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as Elite Recovery took possession of the vehicle.

AUGUST 27, 2015

2:25 a.m. – A verbal domestic dispute between a boyfriend and girlfriend was reported at a residence at Heron Crossing Apartments at 72 Heron Crossing Drive.

5:07 a.m. – A suspicious person was reported in the parking lot of the Travelodge Motel at 8216 East Main Street.

5:41 a.m. – A welfare check was conducted in the parking lot of the Sunoco Station at 11965 North Jacob Smart Boulevard after the driver of a tractor trailer was seen leaning across the steering wheel.

7:07 a.m. – Two suspicious persons were reported at a residence on Shadetree Street in the Carters Mill Estates Community.

12:01 p.m. – Ridgeland Officers assisted Jasper County Deputies at the Travelodge Motel at 8216 East Main Street after Deandre Jenkins, 23 of Ridgeland, was spotted on the business property. He was shortly after located inside of a rented room where he was placed under arrest without incident in reference to outstanding warrants issued by the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office. Jenkins’ charges stemmed from an August 12th shooting incident at a residence on Captain Bill Road where he and co-defendant Akeem Kyreek Dupont, 23 of Ridgeland, fired several gunshots at a vehicle occupied by a male and female victim. Dupont was arrested by Deputies at a residence on Bees Creek Road on August 19th and both suspects are currently being held at the Jasper County Detention Center each under two counts of attempted murder.

12:30 p.m. – A black Acura RL was stopped for speeding in excess of 25 mph over the speed limit on Captain Bill Road. As the vehicle turned into the parking lot of Devonwood Apartments at 137 Captain Bill Road driver Kyle Sheldon Lord leapt into the back seat as the front seat female passenger moved into the driver’s seat. A check of Kyle Lord’s information revealed him to be operating under a suspended South Carolina driver’s license as well as being listed as a habitual traffic offender by the SCDMV. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as Blatchley’s Towing took possession of the vehicle.

1:44 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on East Woodlawn Street.

2:44 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 34 mile marker in reference to a black Nissan.

3:34 p.m. – A counterfeit $100 bill was turned over to Ridgeland Officers by employees at Ken’s Tire Service Center at 10464 South Jacob Smart Boulevard after being received from a customer as payment for services.

5:09 p.m. – A welfare check was conducted at Turpin Park at 901 North Logan Street after a 7 year old female was found in the parking lot of the adjacent Jasper County School District Office at 10942 North Jacob Smart Boulevard. The child’s mother was found nearby moving her vehicle to a different parking spot due to ongoing construction.

5:47 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 31 mile marker in reference to a light brown Honda CRV.

5:58 p.m. – An assault was reported at a residence on Captain Bill Road in reference to a black male armed with a handgun threatening the complainant’s son over an alleged theft.

6:49 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 33 mile marker in reference to a silver Nissan SUV.

8:54 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported at the intersection of North Jacob Smart Boulevard and Captain Bill Road in reference to a silver passenger car.

9:28 p.m. – A noise complaint was filed at the Siesta Motel at 10530 South Jacob Smart Boulevard in reference to several subjects playing loud music in the parking lot.

11:29 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North around the 16 mile marker in reference to a flatbed tractor trailer.

AUGUST 26, 2015

12:27 a.m. – Ridgeland Officers assisted Jasper County Deputies in responding to a verbal domestic dispute between a female and her estranged husband at a residence on Bees Creek Road. The male party was voluntarily escorted off of the property without incident.

2:22 a.m. – A white male on a silver moped was reportedly asking customers and passers by for money in the parking lot of the Waffle House Restaurant at 8185 East Main Street.

11:27 a.m. – A safe containing personal keepsakes was reported stolen from a residence in the Oakridge Trailer Park Community at 700 North Green Street while the owner was in the process of moving her items out of the home. The safe and it’s contents were ultimately returned to her by Charles “CJ” Nix, 19 of Ridgeland, just after 4 p.m. The victim declined pursuing charges.

12:23 p.m. – Kyshon Jemeel Jenkins was placed under arrest at his residence on Malphrus Street after two warrants were issued against him in reference to an August 16th burglary and sexual assault at a residence on North Green Street. DNA evidence collected at the scene identified Jenkins as the person who entered the home sometime between 10 and 11:00 p.m. through an unlocked back door and assaulted the 61 year old female homeowner when she awoke to find him standing in her bedroom brandishing a handgun. The victim was ultimately able to escape to a neighboring residence to call 911 after Jenkins went into another room and began rummaging through her belongings searching for items to steal. He is currently being held at the Jasper County Detention Center.

3:21 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported in reference to a gray SUV traveling East on Grays Highway.

6:33 p.m. – A red Chevy Silverado pickup and a gray Toyota Sienna mini van were involved in a collision at the Sunoco Station at 11965 North Jacob Smart Boulevard. No injuries were reported.

8:42 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 28 mile marker in reference to a yellow Ford Mustang.

8:49 p.m. – A welfare check was conducted at the Jaspers Porch Restaurant at 153 James Taylor Drive in reference to an intoxicated black female bar patron consuming alcohol with a child in her care.

9:17 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on East Main Street at the North Jacob Smart intersection in reference to a white Chevy Trailblazer.

10:24 p.m. – A gray Mercury Grand Marquis was stopped for operating with no tail lights at the EZ Stop IV Station at 80 Blue Heron Drive where driver Matthew Gene Hatchell and passenger Cody Allen-James Franzone were found to be in possession of a quantity of marijuana. Both were placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as A-1 Towing took possession of the vehicle.

AUGUST 25, 2015

12:40 a.m. – Patrol Officers discovered an unlocked door at a business on North Jacob Smart Boulevard. An employee arrived shortly after and secured the building prior to the Officer departing.

3:04 a.m. – Frank Eugene Knight was placed on trespass notice for the business property of the Travelodge Motel at 8216 East Main Street at Management’s request after being discovered sleeping inside of a vacant room.

4:05 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the McDonalds Restaurant at 8548 Grahamville Road.

4:36 a.m. – Patrol Officers discovered an unlocked door at a business on North Jacob Smart Boulevard. The building was secured prior to the Officer departing.

10:53 a.m. – A reckless driver was reported on Highway 462 in reference to a tractor trailer weaving across the center line into the oncoming lane of travel.

12:40 p.m. – A white Ford F150 pickup was stopped at a driver safety checkpoint conducted by Ridgeland Officers at the intersection of North Green and Malphrus Street where driver Marco Solis-Espinoza was found to be operating without a license. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as Scott’s Automotive took possession of the vehicle.

6:37 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Palmetto Eye Specialists Office at 10911 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.

6:39 p.m. – A suspicious vehicle was reported in the parking lot of Heron Crossing Apartments at 72 Heron Crossing Drive in reference to three subjects in a black Honda Accord.

7:21 p.m. – A shoplifting was reported at the Piggly Wiggly Grocery Store at 10847 North Jacob Smart Boulevard after a white female was witnessed stealing store items. When confronted by Management the subject fled the area on foot running towards South Green Street. Surveillance video is being reviewed for suspect identification and pending charges.

7:22 p.m. – A suspicious person was reported at the McDonalds Restaurant at 8548 Grahamville Road.

7:59 p.m. – A fight in progress between two Hispanic males was reported in the Oakridge Trailer Park Community at 700 North Green Street. Both subjects left the area prior to the responding Officer’s arrival.

8:20 p.m. – Officers responded to the Siesta Motel at 10530 South Jacob Smart Boulevard in reference to a domestic dispute between a husband and wife. After evidence was collected at the scene Alphonzo Leonard Greene was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center. The female victim was transported by EMS Personnel to Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeville for treatment of injuries sustained during the assault.

AUGUST 24, 2015

12:35 a.m. – A suspicious vehicle was reported on I-95 South around the 22 mile marker in reference to a red Ford with no tag.

1:29 a.m. – Ridgeland Officers assisted Jasper County Deputies in service of three outstanding warrants at a residence on Hagin Drive. Jonathan Chance Dupont, 19 of Ridgeland, was placed under arrest without incident after being discovered inside of the home and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center. Dupont’s charges stemmed from the March 4th 2014 burglary of a residence on Newlin Drive where, after being arrested and charged, he failed to appear in General Sessions Court to answer to the charge resulting in a warrant being issued for his arrest. An additional warrant was issued against him on April 11th 2015 after he stole several boxes from a Fedex truck making deliveries on Chippa Willow Road and another on August 13th 2015 after he stole a purse from a neighboring residence on Chippa Willow Road.

2:00 a.m. – A suspicious vehicle was reported at the Shell Station at 8309 East Main Street in reference to a white Buick left unoccupied on the business property.

3:27 a.m. – A domestic dispute between a father and his 18 year old son at a residence on Hagin Drive resulted in the father being injured and transported by EMS Personnel to Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeville. The victim declined pursuing charges.

7:52 a.m. – A reckless driver was reported at the intersection of Correctional Drive and East Frontage Road in reference to a dark gray Ford Mustang.

8:41 a.m. – A suspicious person was reported at Baytree Apartments at 107 First Avenue in reference to a female subject who was allegedly previously placed on trespass notice for the property.

11:33 a.m. – Tyrone Jenkins was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center from the Ridgeland Police Department at 1 Town Square after arriving in the Municipal Courtroom while under the influence of alcohol to answer to a July 25th 2015 driving under the influence charge.

12:13 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated duress alarm at Good Hope Plantation.

2:25 p.m. – A male and a female were reportedly engaged in a fight inside of a gray passenger car behind the Jasper County School District Offices at 10942 North Jacob Smart Boulevard. Responding Officers discovered suspect Rashad Lamar Delaney to be in possession of a quantity of marijuana at which time he was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.

3:19 p.m. – A welfare check was conducted on the property of the Siesta Motel at 10530 South Jacob Smart Boulevard after a 911 hang up call was received from the area by Jasper County Emergency Services.

4:08 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North in reference to a blue Ford Ranger pickup traveling between Hardeeville and Ridgeland at a high rate of speed.

4:19 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North around the 18 mile marker in reference to a yellow tractor trailer weaving across both lanes of travel.

4:56 p.m. – A silver Volkswagen Beetle and a Suzuki motorcycle were involved in a collision in front of the Piggly Wiggly Grocery Store at 10847 North Jacob Smart Boulevard where the driver of the Volkswagen, Ariana Radilla Jacinto, was found to be operating without a driver’s license. She was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as Little T’s Towing took possession of the vehicle. No injuries were reported in the collision.

7:08 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the South State Bank at 10671 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.

7:18 p.m. – Two suspicious males were reported at the Blue Heron Nature Trail.

7:26 p.m. – A black male was reportedly asking customers and passers by for money in the parking lot of the Harvey’s Grocery Store at 8205 East Main Street.

11:14 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North at the exit 21 interchange in reference to a burgundy Ford Expedition weaving in and out of traffic.

11:46 p.m. – Patrol Officers discovered an unsecured door at the Carolina Collision Auto Repair Shop at 11365 North Jacob Smart Boulevard. No persons were found inside of the business and no signs of forced entry were observed. The door was secured prior to the Officer departing.

11:58 p.m. – Patrol Officers discovered an unsecured door at the Ridgeland Tire & Auto Shop at 11263 North Jacob Smart Boulevard. No persons were found inside of the business and no signs of forced entry were observed. An employee arrived a short time later and secured the business prior to the Officer departing.

AUGUST 23, 2015

12:44 a.m. – A complaint was filed at the EZ Stop IV Station at 80 Blue Heron Drive in reference to a white male on a silver moped asking customers and passers by for money in the parking lot. Upon arrival Richard Louis Sullivan was found to be intoxicated resulting in him being placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as J&M Towing took possession of his moped.

8:44 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on Brandon Cove in the North Ridge Community.

10:21 a.m. – A suspicious vehicle was reported on I-95 North around the 19 mile marker in reference to a white Ford Mustang with no tags.

4:06 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the R&M Small Engine Repair Shop at 11211 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.

4:09 p.m. – A blue Mercedes SUV was involved in a single vehicle collision on I-95 South around the 18 mile marker after the driver lost control and struck the center median guard wire. No injuries were reported.

4:26 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on Honeycomb Lane in the Bees Creek Plantation Community.

4:46 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 32 mile marker in reference to a red Chrysler 300 weaving in and out of traffic at a high rate of speed.

AUGUST 22, 2015

5:45 a.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North around the 11 mile marker in reference to a silver Ford Focus weaving across both lanes of travel.

8:43 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the New Hong Kong Restaurant at 8176 East Main Street.

11:12 a.m. – A trespassing complaint was filed on East Adams Street in reference to a subject sleeping inside of a vacant rental home.

11:38 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Wright Directions Family Services Center at 60 South Railroad Avenue.

12:58 p.m. – A breach of trust was reported at the Check Into Cash Store at 8225 East Main Street after a customer’s bank statement revealed unapproved funds being withdrawn.

2:20 p.m. – Ridgeland Officers assisted Jasper County Deputies in responding to an activated alarm at GJ’s Used Cars at 10074 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.

2:29 p.m. – A property damage complaint was filed at the former El Ranchito Restaurant at 11469 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.

6:20 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 24 mile marker in reference to a black and purple tractor trailer tailgating other motorists.

10:02 p.m. – A suspicious vehicle was reported in the Bees Creek Plantation Community in reference to a silver Toyota Celica with no tags being parked by a playground common area for several days.

10:23 p.m. – A white Nissan Altima was involved in a single vehicle collision in front of the Ridgeland Correctional Institution at 5 Correctional Road after the driver lost control and struck a roadside drainage ditch. The driver left the area on foot prior to the responding Officer’s arrival.

11:13 p.m. – A noise complaint was filed at a residence on Shadetree Street in the Carters Mill Estates Community in reference to loud music coming from a neighboring home.

AUGUST 21, 2015

4:01 a.m. – A female caller reported that a shooting had occurred at the Southeast Pyrotechnics Warehouse at 11142 North Jacob Smart Boulevard. The caller climbed out of a window onto an awning as she called 911. Responding Officers and Deputies found no evidence of any such event having occurred.

7:21 a.m. – Two theft reports were filed at two neighboring homes on Oak Plantation Drive after items were stolen from inside of the complainants’ vehicles sometime between 7 p.m. August 20th at 7 a.m. August 21st. Both vehicles were left unlocked during the night.

8:09 a.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 27 mile marker in reference to a tractor trailer weaving across both lanes of travel.

9:00 a.m. – A suspicious vehicle was reported in the Bees Creek Plantation Community in reference to a silver Toyota Celica parked unoccupied by a wooded area.

12:11 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Ridgeland Family Dentistry Office at 10832 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.

12:27 p.m. – A suspicious vehicle was reported in the Oakridge Trailer Park Community in reference to a brown Dodge Neon.

1:13 p.m. – A red Jeep Cherokee was towed from East Wilson Street by Elite Towing after being left abandoned for two days partially blocking the sidewalk. Officers attempted to contact the owner at the registered address on Hilton Head but were advised by Beaufort County Deputies that no one lived at that residence.

2:20 p.m. – A suspicious person was reported in front of the H&H Furniture Store at 10706 South Jacob Smart Boulevard where Axel Hector Perez was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center after being found to be grossly intoxicated.

2:51 p.m. – Officers responded to the Travelodge Motel at 8216 East Main Street where Richard Louis Sullivan, 53 of Ridgeland SC, was placed on trespass notice for several Main Street businesses at the property owner’s request.

3:43 p.m. – A welfare check was conducted at a residence on Malphrus Street after an open 911 call was received at Jasper County Emergency Services. Upon Officers’ arrival an 18 month old child was found to have placed the call.

5:03 p.m. – A white Jeep Cherokee was involved in a single vehicle collision in the Ridgeland Cemetery off of Ingram Street when the driver lost control and struck a tree on the back side of the property. No injuries were reported.

5:10 p.m. – A theft was reported at the Southeast Pyrotechnics Warehouse at 11142 North Jacob Smart Boulevard in reference to items allegedly being stolen from the complainant’s vehicle.

7:11 p.m. – Officers discovered an unsecured door at a residence on Duke Street.

7:36 p.m. – A report of illegal drug activity was reported in the Carters Mill Estates Community.

8:33 p.m. – A loitering complaint was filed at Baytree Apartments at 107 First Avenue in reference to several subjects, some of which don’t reside in the complex, standing around in the parking lot.

9:29 p.m. – A white male was reportedly rummaging through mailboxes on Newlin Drive.

AUGUST 20, 2015

2:31 a.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 33 mile marker in reference to a white tractor trailer.

7:41 a.m. – A black Toyota Tacoma was stopped for speeding on North Jacob Smart Boulevard where driver Daniel Grabenbauer was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as Little T’s Towing took possession of the vehicle.

8:25 a.m. – A boat was reportedly left on the roadway on I-95 South around the 18 mile marker. The item was picked up by the rightful owner a few hours later.

9:25 a.m. – A white Dodge Dakota pickup was stopped for a turn signal, lighting and expired tag violation on First Avenue where driver Gerald Major was found to be operating under a suspended South Carolina driver’s license stemming from a failure to pay traffic ticket violation. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as Scott’s Automotive took possession of the vehicle.

12:46 p.m. – A harassment complaint was filed by a tenant at the Travelodge Motel at 8216 East Main Street.

2:04 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 18 mile marker in reference to a silver Toyota Sequoia.

4:44 p.m. – A complaint was filed by a resident on Sailfish Circle in the Carters Mill Estates Community in reference to a hacked Facebook account.

4:58 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 21 mile marker in reference to a white truck towing a flat bed trailer refusing to allow other motorists to pass.

5:51 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Kingdom Touch Ministries Church at 6714 Tillman Road.

7:16 p.m. – A welfare check was requested in reference to a teacher at the Ridgeland High School after a relative was unable to get in touch with her for an extended period of time.

9:10 p.m. – A 13 year old male was reported missing from the Ridgeland Alternative School at 456 Grays Highway after failing to be at the agreed upon location for his parents to pick him up after football practice. The juvenile was ultimately located by Jasper County Deputies who spotted him walking home on Grays Highway at 10:45 p.m. and returned to the custody of his parents.

10:58 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on Hagin Drive.

AUGUST 19, 2015

2:13 a.m. – A suspicious vehicle was reported at the New Hong Kong Restaurant at 8176 East Main Street in reference to a male subject sleeping in a silver Honda Pilot.

3:13 a.m. – A suspicious vehicle was reported in the parking lot of Baytree Apartments at 107 First Avenue in reference to a passenger car occupied by two white males.

4:21 a.m. – A loitering complaint was filed at the Econo Lodge Motel at 511 James Taylor Drive in reference to a black female subject being on the property for no valid reason. She was provided an escort to the Waffle House Restaurant at 8185 East Main Street to wait for a friend to take her home.

11:05 a.m. – A domestic dispute was reported between an estranged couple at the South State Bank at 10671 South Jacob Smart Boulevard after a monetary settlement dispute erupted into an argument inside one of the business offices.

12:08 p.m. – A forgery was reported at the Check Into Cash Store at 8225 East Main Street after an account was opened and money withdrawn under a previous customer’s name without their permission or consent using a fraudulent signature.

1:30 p.m. – A silver Honda CR-V was stopped on Bees Creek Road after Yasmeen Contalina Brantley was spotted behind the wheel who was known to be listed as a wanted person by the Ridgeland Police Department. Brantley continued driving North on Bees Creek turning onto Scarlet Ibis Drive and ultimately coming to a stop in her driveway. A check of her information revealed her South Carolina driver’s license to currently be under a state of suspension as passenger Braxton Leon Jobe was found to be listed as a wanted person by the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office. Both were placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as the vehicle was left in the care of a relative at the residence. Yasmeen Brantley’s charges stemmed from a May 14, 2015 incident at an East Main Street business where she was captured on surveillance video stealing store items. Braxton Jobe’s charges stemmed from an April 4th 2015 traffic stop where he was cited for driving under suspension by South Carolina Highway Patrol Officers. He then failed to appear in Central Traffic Court on East Adams Street to answer to the charge on May 21st where he was found guilty during a trial in absence and a warrant was issued for his arrest.

2:45 p.m. – Officers traveled to the Jasper County Detention Center at 12008 North Jacob Smart Boulevard where a bench warrant was served on inmate Albert Gerald Heyward III. Heyward’s charges stemmed from a February 16th 2015 incident at the McDonalds Restaurant at 8548 Grahamville Road where he assaulted another male in the dining room area which resulted in a fight carrying over out into the parking lot area. Heyward fled the scene as responding Officers arrived but was quickly located hiding on the back porch of a residence located across the street where he was placed under arrest. He was then found guilty of the charges in Ridgeland Municipal Court on March 2nd and placed on a time payment plan to settle the court ordered fines which he failed to comply with resulting in a warrant being issued for his arrest. Heyward has been held since June 24th under an attempted murder charge stemming from a June 21st shooting incident on East Adams Street as well as a murder charge stemming from the March 30th shooting death of Mickel Bolden, 57 of Ridgeland SC, outside of a residence on Battery Pointe in the Fordville area. At the time of that offense he was out on supervised release under the Youthful Offender Act stemming from attempted murder and cocaine charges in 2012 and 2013.

4:37 p.m. – A complaint was filed at the DSS Office at 10908 North Jacob Smart Boulevard by the parents of a 6 month old and 1 year old regarding living conditions while in foster care. DSS Agents advised that they would conduct an investigation into the childrens’ welfare at the home.

6:35 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North around the 13 mile marker in reference to a brown Ford F150 pickup weaving in and out of traffic at a high rate of speed.

6:50 p.m. – Three juveniles were reportedly playing on the railroad tracks between West Main Street and the Grays Highway overpass.

11:47 p.m. – A report of two gunshots being fired was reported at Devonwood Apartments at 137 Captain Bill Road in reference to a Cadillac and a Mercedes in the parking lot. Both vehicles left the scene prior to Law Enforcement arrival.

AUGUST 18, 2015

8:25 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on East Wilson Street.

10:26 a.m. – A suspicious vehicle was reported at the Sunoco Station at 11965 North Jacob Smart Boulevard in reference to a white Toyota pickup.

11:29 a.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North between Hardeeville and Ridgeland in reference to a tan Toyota Camry weaving across both lanes of travel.

3:01 p.m. – A complaint was filed at a residence on Sailfish Circle in the Carters Mill Estates Community in reference to a 9 year old juvenile male shoving the complainant’s 7 year old son as they got off of the school bus.

5:04 p.m. – A welfare check was requested on an elderly black male in front of the Ridgeland Post Office at 7554 West Main Street after he began walking in the street blocking traffic and attempted to open a business door in the wrong direction several times. The subject was ultimately located at the Short Stop BP Station at 10728 South Jacob Smart Boulevard where he escorted back to his home at 72 Heron Crossing Road.

9:37 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North around the 18 mile marker in reference to a small red vehicle traveling with no taillights in operation.

AUGUST 17, 2015

5:53 a.m. – A suspicious vehicle was reported at the Sunoco Station at 11965 North Jacob Smart Boulevard in reference to a blue Nissan Versa.

8:46 a.m. – A gray Ford Crown Victoria was stopped in front of the Pratt Memorial Library at 451 East Wilson Street after Officers spotted Jesus Roberto Acosta behind the wheel who is known to be operating without a driver’s license after being cited for it when he was involved in an August 13th collision at the intersection of East Main Street and South Jacob Smart Boulevard while driving the same vehicle. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as J&M Towing took possession of the vehicle.

8:54 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Sauls Funeral Home Offices at 500 West Adams Street.

9:25 a.m. – A report of harassing text messages and telephone calls was filed at a residence on Captain Bill Road in reference to an ongoing dispute between two female family members over a piece of property in Colleton County.

11:27 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on Brandon Cove in the North Ridge Community.

11:59 a.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 22 mile marker in reference to a blue tractor trailer traveling with a blown rear tire.

12:42 p.m. – A male subject was reported in the parking lot of the Dollar General Store at 8123 East Main Street asking customers and passers by for a ride to the hospital. EMS Personnel responded to the scene and later transported the subject to Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeville.

1:32 p.m. – A blue Peterbilt tractor trailer and a red Chevy Sonic were involved in a collision at the intersection of North Jacob Smart Boulevard and Third Avenue. No injuries were reported.

6:45 p.m. – A shoplifting was reported at the Piggly Wiggly Grocery Store at 10847 North Jacob Smart Boulevard after Management witnessed a black male concealing store items in an attempt to steal them. The subject fled from the business on foot last seen running South on Jacob Smart Boulevard towards the Palms Motel. Responding Officers soon after spotted the suspect exiting the Short Stop BP Station at 10728 South Jacob Smart Boulevard where upon being questioned regarding the incident he provided the Officer with a fictitious name in an effort to conceal his identity resulting in an additional charge. He was transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.

7:15 p.m. – A black male driving a gold Buick was reported in the parking lot of the Citgo Station at 107 Sycamore Drive asking customers and passers by for money.

9:42 p.m. – A 40 year old male was voluntarily transported by EMS Personnel from his home on Live Oak Farm Road to Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeville for evaluation after making statements that he may wish to do harm to himself following an argument with his Mother.

AUGUST 16, 2015

9:07 a.m. – A harassment complaint was filed at a residence on Sailfish Circle in the Carters Mill Estates Community in reference to a female calling the complainant and threatening her.

10:53 a.m. – A silver Ford Focus was involved in a single vehicle collision at the entrance to the former El Ranchito Restaurant at 11469 North Jacob Smart Boulevard after the driver ran off of the roadway into a drainage ditch. No injuries were reported.

11:24 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on James Taylor Drive.

12:57 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 30 mile marker in reference to a white tractor trailer weaving across both lanes of travel.

1:07 p.m. – A dispute between a male and a female was reported in the parking lot of Harvey’s Grocery Store at 8205 East Main Street after the male’s vehicle backed into the female’s shopping cart with two children in it as she unloaded groceries into her vehicle parked next to the male. No damage or injuries were reported.

1:15 p.m. – Ridgeland Officers assisted Jasper County Deputies in responding to a report of two black males and a white female trespassing at a residence on Apple Blossom Lane in the Mitchellville area. The subjects left the area in a blue Honda Civic prior to Law Enforcement arrival and were shortly after stopped by responding Deputies on Fordville Road. The female subject was found to be a 14 year old runaway reported missing from her home on Malphrus Road to the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office on August 9th. She was transported to the Department of Juvenile Justice Detention Facility in Columbia SC as the two male juveniles were placed on trespass notice for the Apple Blossom Lane property.

2:37 p.m. – A disturbance was reported at the Ridgeland Coin Laundry at 10246 South Jacob Smart Boulevard after a white female and a male began arguing with an employee regarding the use of the washing machines. Both subjects left the property at the employee’s request without further incident.

2:43 p.m. – Officers responded to the area of I-95 South at the 17 mile marker in reference to a 2004 Buick LeSabre becoming engulfed in flames after the driver pulled over into the center median in order to repair a flat tire. After seeing smoke coming from underneath the driver opened the hood and saw flames in the engine compartment prompting her to gather her two children from inside of the vehicle and get to a safe distance as she called 911. A male subject who had been in the vehicle with her immediately got into a dark colored SUV driven by a relative who had been following them as they traveled South. The female and her children waited in the roadway as responding Officers worked to clear the scene after which she got into the same dark colored SUV and all four of them were dropped off at the Travelodge Motel at 8216 East Main Street where they checked into a room for the night. At 9:53 p.m. Ridgeland Officers assisted Jasper County Sheriff’s Deputies and SLED Agents at the Travelodge where the male, identified as Joshua Lenard Poacher 20 of Yemassee, was placed under arrest without incident inside of their room in reference to the murders of a 72 year old male and his 67 year old wife at the Best Western Motel at 3536 Point South Drive in Yemassee. Jasper County Deputies had responded to the location at 9:34 a.m. after the couple were discovered lying in the floor of their room by a friend checking on them after they failed to report to work. Both were pronounced dead at the scene from apparent gunshot wounds. Evidence collected by Jasper County Detectives and SLED Crime Scene Investigators ultimately led to Poacher being identified as the person responsible for their deaths and two warrants were issued for his arrest. He is being held at the Jasper County Detention Center.

2:45 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence at Baytree Apartments at 107 First Avenue where a rear window was found to have been broken by an unknown person. No items were reported missing at the time of the report, however an inventory by the tenant is pending. Evidence collected at the scene has been submitted to the SLED Forensics Laboratory for suspect identification and pending charges.

3:14 p.m. – A red Kenworth tractor trailer and a white Infiniti sedan were involved in a collision on I-95 South around the 19 mile marker. No injuries were reported.

10:55 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported traveling East on Grays Highway around the Palmetto Electric building in reference to a burgundy Chevy Impala possibly being driven by an intoxicated driver.

11:11 p.m. – A burglary was reported at a residence on North Green Street after the homeowner awoke to find a black male standing in her bedroom brandishing a handgun. The 61 year old female was assaulted and ultimately able to escape to a neighboring home to call 911 when the suspect went into another room searching for items to steal. The victim was transported to Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeville for treatment as evidence was collected at the scene to be submitted to the SLED and Beaufort County Forensics Laboratories for analysis.

AUGUST 15, 2015

10:39 a.m. – A wallet was reportedly stolen from a black Dodge Ram pickup left unlocked in front of a residence on Hagin Drive sometime between 7:00 p.m. August 14th and 10:30 a.m. August 15th. Evidence collected at the scene has been submitted to the SLED Forensics Laboratory for suspect identification and pending charges.

12:54 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on Kato Bay Road in reference to a Badcock Furniture delivery truck crossing the center line into the oncoming lane of travel between Hardeeville and Ridgeland.

2:33 p.m. – Dakota Mathew Jeffries was placed under arrest at his home on McCormack Avenue and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center in reference to a warrant being issued against him after being captured on surveillance video making an unauthorized ATM withdrawal using a relative’s debit card at the Short Stop BP Station at 10728 South Jacob Smart Boulevard. The August 6th incident wasn’t reported until August 14th when the victim’s bank statement was received.

3:17 p.m. – Ridgeland Officers traveled to the Beaufort County Detention Center at 100 Ribaut Road in Beaufort SC where inmate McCarl Casey Simmons was turned over to their custody and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center in reference to an outstanding warrant issued by the Ridgeland Police Department. Simmons’ charges stemmed from a May 17th 2015 traffic stop at the Farm Bureau Insurance Office at 9438 South Jacob Smart Boulevard where he was arrested and charged with public disorderly conduct. He then failed to appear in Ridgeland Municipal Court on June 8th to answer to the charge where he was found guilty during a trial in absence and a warrant was issued for his arrest.

4:14 p.m. – A harassment complaint was filed at a residence on Captain Bill Road in reference to a text message dispute between the female complainant and a relative of her’s in Colleton County regarding a piece of property in that area. Additional threatening text messages were received and reported at 10:13 p.m.

5:13 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on Highway 462 at the Salzburg Landing intersection in reference to a tan Ford F150 pickup veering into the oncoming lane of travel.

6:29 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 33 mile marker in reference to a yellow Penske rental truck weaving across both lanes of travel.

9:27 p.m. – A possibly intoxicated driver was reported on I-95 South around the 33 mile marker in reference to a black Dodge pickup.

10:16 p.m. – A report of illegal drug activity was filed in reference to a rented room at the Econo Lodge Motel at 511 James Taylor Drive.

AUGUST 14, 2015

1:35 a.m. – A complaint was filed at a business at 8250 East Main Street in reference to a white female harassing the on duty clerk. The subject left the area without further incident.

8:44 a.m. – Several power tools were reported stolen sometime during the overnight hours from an enclosed utility trailer at the Family Dollar Store at 73 South Green Street after an unknown person cut the door lock in order to gain entry. Surveillance video is being reviewed for suspect identification and pending charges.

10:10 a.m. – A gas can was reportedly stolen from the front porch of a residence on Henry Street sometime during the overnight hours.

10:33 a.m. – A larceny was reported at a residence on McCormack Avenue after the complainant’s bank statement revealed an unauthorized August 6th ATM withdrawal made at the Short Stop BP Station at 10728 South Jacob Smart Boulevard. Surveillance video is being reviewed for suspect identification and pending charges.

12:26 p.m. – A suspicious person was reported at the Quality Inn Motel at 221 James Taylor Drive in reference to a male subject sleeping in his vehicle.

1:13 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 21 mile marker in reference to a female in a white Mercedes texting and traveling and a high rate of speed.

1:56 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 47 mile marker in reference to a black Cadillac Escalade tailgating and cutting other motorists off.

3:39 p.m. – A silver Saturn was stopped for an expired tag violation at the intersection of Smith’s Crossing and Bees Creek Road where driver Vanessa Leigh Turney was found to be operating under a suspended Pennsylvania driver’s license as well as having no valid insurance coverage on the vehicle she was driving. Further investigation showed that the validation sticker on the vehicle tag had been altered in an attempt to conceal the expiration date and information received from the registered owner revealed that Turney had taken the vehicle without permission. She was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as Scott’s Automotive took possession of the vehicle. Vanessa Turney was previously arrested, and later convicted, of operating uninsured and no driver’s license stemming from a July 9, 2015 traffic stop at the intersection of East Main and Logan Street resulting in her current charges being enhanced to 2nd offense.

4:39 p.m. – A dog bite was reported at a residence on Fifth Avenue after a female complainant was bitten on the leg while attempting to break up a fight on her property between her dog and the one that bit her. The wound did not break the skin and the victim declined medical attention but only wanted the incident documented. The dog’s owner was located at a residence on Third Avenue and warned to keep the animal on her property. The incident report was then forwarded to DHEC.

9:30 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North around the 11 mile marker in reference to a silver Kia Sportage with no headlights in operation.

10:12 p.m. – Four suspicious persons were reported at the Jaspers Porch Restaurant at 153 James Taylor Drive in reference to two white males and two white females.

11:11 p.m. – A white male and a white female were reportedly going through a homeowner’s mailbox at a residence on Fifth Avenue. A prior incident is said to have occurred earlier in the day but was unreported. Both subjects left the area prior to Law Enforcement arrival.

AUGUST 13, 2015

2:05 a.m. – A suspicious person report was filed by a female complainant who called 911 stating that she was being followed by an unknown female who was attempting to instigate a fight with her after leaving Baytree Apartments on First Avenue and walking West on Main Street. The caller ultimately walked to the Waffle House Restaurant at 8185 East Main Street where the responding Officer was able to speak with her. She was provided an escort back to her residence without further incident after being determined to be under the influence of alcohol.

8:31 a.m. – A welfare check was conducted at the Jasper County DSS Office at 10908 North Jacob Smart Boulevard after an open 911 call was received by Jasper County Emergency Services.

11:01 a.m. – A gray Ford Crown Victoria and a black Toyota Camry were involved in a collision at the intersection of East Main Street and South Jacob Smart Boulevard. Minor injuries were reported.

11:13 a.m. – A black 20 foot Proline flatbed utility trailer was reportedly stolen from the Kingdom Touch Ministries Church at 6714 Tillman Road during the overnight hours. The trailer has a new jack stand and floorboards and is described as having three black tire rims and one white. Surveillance video is being reviewed for suspect identification and pending charges.

2:23 p.m. – A property damage report was filed in reference to a white 2009 Dodge Ram pickup suffering damage to the rear passenger side while legally parked and unoccupied at the Ridgeland Correctional Institution at 5 Correctional Road.

3:30 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Ridgeland Boys & Girls Club at 913 Grays Highway.

3:58 p.m. – Two white males were reportedly riding mini bikes on the roadway in front of the McDonald’s Restaurant at 8548 Grahamville Road.

4:30 p.m. – Ridgeland Officers assisted Jasper County Deputies in responding to a residence on Captain Bill Road in reference to juveniles being left inside of the home with no supervision.

5:06 p.m. – A trespassing complaint was filed at the Econo Lodge Motel at 511 James Taylor Drive in reference to a black male being on the business property who was allegedly recently placed on trespass notice. The subject left the area prior to the responding Officer’s arrival.

9:56 p.m. – Ridgeland Officers assisted Jasper County Deputies in responding to a residence on Apple Blossom Lane in the Mitchellville area in reference to the caller’s vehicle being shot at with an air rifle. A black male was witnessed leaving the area on a bicycle possibly having been inside of an abandoned residence bordering the victim’s property. A search of the residence yielded no suspects.

AUGUST 12, 2015

12:13 a.m. – A 14 year old female runaway was spotted at a residence on Shadetree Street in the Carters Mill Estates Community after the homeowner’s 15 year old son brought her home with him asking if she could stay the night. After being told no both juveniles left the residence in an unknown direction. She was later spotted by her father at 6:15 p.m. behind a neighboring residence on Shadetree Street at which time she fled into a wooded area. Hannah Uva was reported as a runaway to the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office after leaving her home on Malphrus Road without permission on August 9th at approximately 8 p.m. She is described as a white female with brown hair and brown eyes standing 5 feet 3 inches tall and weighing approximately 125 pounds. 4:02 a.m. – A shooting incident occurred in the parking lot of Heron Crossing Apartments at 72 Heron Crossing Road after two black males and a black female approached another male and female who were sitting in a parked car and began arguing with the male. One gunshot was ultimately fired during the dispute striking the male victim in the abdomen as the female in the vehicle with him exited and fled to a relative’s apartment. The victim then moved to the driver’s seat and drove himself to Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeville where he was stabilized and ultimately airlifted to Savannah Memorial Hospital.

9:07 a.m. – A breach of trust was reported by an inmate at the Jasper County Detention Center at 12008 North Jacob Smart Boulevard after he gave his ATM card to a fellow inmate who was being released on August 8th with the agreement that he would withdraw money from the victim’s bank account in order to post his bond. The released inmate then withdrew more than the agreed upon amount and has since not paid the victim’s bond or contacted him in any way. ATM surveillance footage is being reviewed for pending charges.

9:08 a.m. – A property damage report was filed at the former El Ranchito Restaurant location at 11469 North Jacob Smart Boulevard after the property owner discovered several windows broken out of the building.

11:14 a.m. – A gray Hyundai Sonata and a red moped were involved in a collision at the intersection of East Main and Ryan Street. No injuries were reported.

11:40 a.m. – A suspicious person was reported at a residence at Ridge Point Apartments at 669 North Green Street in reference to a black male subject beating on several doors attempting to enter. While en route to the area Officers spotted a subject matching the suspect’s description at the intersection of West Main Street and North Railroad Avenue who was found to be grossly intoxicated and unaware of where he was claiming that he was trying to get to his home on Holly Street. Lindsay Darnell Toomer was ultimately placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center without incident.

12:10 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North around the 14 mile marker in reference to a white tractor trailer weaving across both lanes of travel.

1:45 p.m. – An engine prop was reported stolen from a 1999 24 foot Boston Evinrude at a residence on Third Avenue. The incident is believed to have occurred sometime within the last 72 hours.

2:33 p.m. – Latoya Jocelyn Dash turned herself in to Officers at the Ridgeland Police Department at 1 Town Square in reference to a warrant being issued against her stemming from an August 11th breach of trust report filed at the Dollar General Store at 8123 East Main Street. She was transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.

3:38 p.m. – Officers traveled to the Subway Restaurant at 8234 East Main Street in reference to an outstanding warrant against employee Shakayla Dominique Ford stemming from a June 3rd 2015 traffic stop at the intersection of North Logan and Wilson Street where she was cited for driving under suspension. She then failed to appear in Ridgeland Municipal Court on July 6th to answer to the charge where she was found guilty during a trial in absence and a warrant was issued for her arrest. As the Officer entered the restaurant to take her into custody Ford removed a quantity of marijuana from her pocket and dropped it to the floor resulting in an additional charge. After being transported to the Jasper County Detention Center Ridgeland Investigators concluded an August 10th breach of trust case where Ford was captured on surveillance video stealing money from the business on several occasions throughout July and August. A warrant was obtained and later served on her while at the detention center without incident.

6:35 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North around the 18 mile marker in reference to a blue Toyota Matrix traveling at a high rate of speed and stopping short in front other motorists.

8:26 p.m. – Several motorcycles were reportedly driving recklessly on Old House Road around the Honey Hill Plantation intersection.

10:42 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Bobops Convenience Store at 8548 Grahamville Road.

AUGUST 11, 2015

12:34 a.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North around the 22 mile marker in reference to a tan Chevy pickup not allowing other motorists to pass.

2:41 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Palmetto Veterinary Clinic at 409 South Green Street.

8:13 a.m. – A reckless driver was reported on Grays Highway around the McTeer Street intersection in reference to a green Nissan pickup weaving across both lanes of travel and stopping in the middle of the roadway several times.

8:26 a.m. – A suspicious vehicle was reported at Baytree Apartments at 107 First Avenue in reference to a silver passenger car occupied by four black males.

8:38 a.m. – A welfare check was conducted at a residence on North Green Street after a neighbor spotted an open door but was unable to make contact with the homeowner.

9:17 a.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North around the 22 mile marker in reference to a white Nissan Altima weaving across both lanes of travel as well as off of the shoulder several times.

11:34 a.m. – A white dump truck was reportedly traveling South on I-95 around the 33 mile marker with an uncovered bed causing rocks and dirt to fly towards other motorists.

11:43 a.m. – A breach of trust report was filed at the Dollar General Store at 8123 East Main Street after a review of surveillance footage by the Loss Prevention Manager revealed employee Latoya Jocelyn Dash, 22 of Varnville SC, ringing up several purchases and then returning the items in order to steal the money from the register on August 8th. A warrant affidavit has been filed charging her with breach of trust less than $1000.

12:45 p.m. – Officers responded to a domestic dispute between a male and a female at a residence on Third Avenue after the father of two children, (ages 6 months & 19 months), refused to return them to the custody of their mother due to her being homeless and allegedly having substance abuse problems. At the conclusion of the investigation both children were taken into emergency protective custody and turned over to DSS Agents pending a Family Court appearance where the determination will be made as to where they will be permanently placed.

2:05 p.m. – A report of gunshots being fired was filed in reference to a residence on Shadetree Street in the Carters Mill Estates Community.

3:48 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 32 mile marker in reference to a white tractor trailer tailgating other motorists.

11:17 p.m. – Ridgeland Officers assisted Jasper County Deputies in responding to a domestic dispute involving a firearm between a male and a female at a residence on Smith’s Crossing Road.

AUGUST 10, 2015

7:47 a.m. – A trespassing complaint was filed at a residence at Heron Crossing Apartments at 313 Heron Crossing Road in reference to a male subject being inside of the home with the complainant’s niece despite being previously warned not to return. The subject left the area walking towards Baytree Apartments on First Avenue prior to Law Enforcement arrival.

9:34 a.m. – An abandoned gold Nissan Maxima was turned over to Little T’s towing at the exit 18 I-95 Southbound off ramp after being left unattended for more than 48 hours.

11:10 a.m. – Ridgeland Officers traveled to the Hampton County Detention Center at 411 Cemetery Road in Varnville SC where inmate Jacob Gabriel Rivers was turned over to their custody and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center in reference to an outstanding warrant issued by the Ridgeland Police Department. Rivers’ charges stemmed from a June 19th 2015 traffic stop at the intersection of Highway 17 and Smith’s Crossing where he was arrested and charged for speeding and driving under suspension. He then failed to appear in Ridgeland Municipal Court to answer to the charges on July 20th where he was found guilty during a trial in his absence and a warrant was issued for his arrest.

11:14 a.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 33 mile marker in reference to a black Chevy Silverado pickup weaving in and out of traffic forcing other motorists off of the roadway.

12:38 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 42 mile marker in reference to a black Ford Excursion weaving in and out of traffic at a high rate of speed.

2:53 p.m. – A harassment complaint was filed at a residence on Sailfish Circle in the Carters Mill Estates Community in reference to juveniles from a neighboring household attempting to instigate a fight with the complainant’s children.

3:12 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 32 mile marker in reference to a white Chevy van traveling at a high rate of speed and tailgating other vehicles.

4:12 p.m. – A breach of trust report was filed at the Subway Restaurant at 8234 East Main Street after an employee was captured on surveillance video stealing money from the register on several occasions.

4:50 p.m. – A noise complaint was filed at a residence on Benson Lane in reference to loud music coming from a neighboring home.

8:19 p.m. – Ridgeland Officers assisted Jasper County EMS at a residence on Live Oak Farm Road after a mental health patient became combative. He was ultimately transported by EMS Personnel to Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeville for analysis without further incident.

8:24 p.m. – Officers responded to a residence on Wiley Street after a 13 year old female reportedly knocked on the door and notified the homeowner that she was a runaway. Responding Officers were able to get in contact with the juvenile’s mother at her residence at Heron Crossing Apartments at 72 Heron Crossing Road and returned her daughter to her custody. The incident is said to have stemmed from an argument between the juvenile and her siblings.

12:10 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the R&M Small Engine Repair Service at 11211 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.

12:16 a.m. – A suspicious vehicle was reported at the Waffle House Restaurant at 8185 East Main Street in reference to a gray Chrysler PT Cruiser allegedly following the complainant.

1:37 a.m. – A report of illegal drug activity was reported at the Travelodge Motel at 8216 East Main Street.

2:02 a.m. – A harassment report was filed at Ned’s Pub & Grub at 11090 North Jacob Smart Boulevard in reference to a male bar patron allegedly attempting to touch female customers inappropriately.

5:41 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Harvey’s Grocery Store at 8205 East Main Street.

6:07 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Ridgeland Baptist Church at 1448 Grays Highway.

8:08 a.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North in reference to a dark colored SUV weaving in and out of traffic at a high rate of speed traveling between Hardeeville and Ridgeland.

9:14 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Main Street Pharmacy at 7752 West Main Street.

12:51 p.m. – An assault was reported at a residence on Malphrus Street after a Hispanic male in a black Ford F150 pickup being driven by a Hispanic female stopped in front of the residence. The male subject then exited the vehicle and struck the victim before returning to the truck and leaving the area.

4:39 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on Highway 462 in reference to a silver Ford F150 with black stripes weaving into the oncoming lane of travel at a high rate of speed.

12:13 a.m. – A report of possible illegal drug activity was reported at the Waffle House Restaurant at 8185 East Main Street in reference to two white females in the parking lot.

1:12 a.m. – A suspicious vehicle was reported at the Fiddlers Seafood Restaurant at 7738 West Main Street in reference to a silver Nissan.

1:33 a.m. – Two suspicious vehicles were reported at the Jaspers Porch Restaurant at 153 James Taylor Drive.

4:00 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the McDonald’s Restaurant at 8548 Grahamville Road.

9:53 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Ridgeland Boys & Girls Club at 913 Grays Highway.

12:08 p.m. – A possible shoplifting was reported at the Family Dollar Store at 73 South Green Street in reference to a black female concealing items in her purse and then leaving the store in a gray Buick.

1:14 p.m. – A welfare check was conducted on a gold Nissan Maxima left unattended with an open door at the I-95 exit 18 Southbound off ramp.

2:47 p.m. – A property damage complaint was filed at the Piggly Wiggly Grocery Store at 10847 North Jacob Smart Boulevard after a customer returned to her vehicle to find it had suffered damage to the rear passenger quarter panel.

4:23 p.m. – An assault was reported at a residence on Shadetree Street in the Carters Mill Estates Community after two male juveniles were allegedly assaulted by two others from a residence on Sailfish Circle.

9:41 p.m. – A disturbance was reported at a residence on Malphrus Street in reference to a male subject in a black pickup attempting to instigate a fight.

11:55 p.m. – A welfare check was conducted at the Ridgeland Coin Laundry at 10246 South Jacob Smart Boulevard in reference to an intoxicated male sleeping in the back of a Savannah based taxi cab.

AUGUST 7, 2015

3:09 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at a business office at 7596 West Main Street where, upon arrival, an open window was discovered on the rear of the business which had yet to be repaired after a previous burglary. No persons were found inside and no items were reported missing.

7:13 a.m. – A homeowner on Second Avenue reported finding an open door on their gray Hyundai Sonata which had been parked in the driveway during the previous night. No items were reported missing.

8:56 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Ridgeland Boys & Girls Club at 913 Grays Highway.

12:44 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Ridgeland Baptist Church at 1448 Grays Highway.

1:10 p.m. – A white Ford Ranger pickup was stopped for a suspended tag violation at the intersection of North Green and West Main Street where driver Jesus Barrientos was found to be operating without a driver’s license or valid insurance coverage on the vehicle. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as Blatchley’s Towing took possession of the vehicle.

1:38 p.m. – A white male was reportedly causing a disturbance inside of the Jasper County Magistrates Office at 967 West Adams Street in reference to a traffic citation.

1:49 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on Grays Highway in reference to a tractor trailer swerving into the oncoming lane of traffic.

3:19 p.m. – A suspicious vehicle was reported on I-95 South around the 17 mile marker in reference to an abandoned tan Nissan Maxima.

3:24 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North around the 14 mile marker in reference to an older model white Buick passenger car swerving across both lanes of travel.

4:01 p.m. – A Hyundai Sonata was stopped for speeding on I-95 North around the 22 mile marker where driver Conrad Dennis was found to be operating under a suspended Florida driver’s license with numerous convictions for driving under suspension appearing on his driving record. A further check of his information revealed him to be listed as a wanted person by the Camden County GA Sheriff’s Office for failure to appear in court violations; however that agency declined extradition. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as the vehicle was turned over to a licensed passenger who was listed as the primary renter on the vehicle after she was cited and assigned a court date for allowing an unauthorized driver.

6:16 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North around the 21 mile marker in reference to a GMC Sierra swerving off of the roadway several times as well as operating at varying speeds.

6:39 p.m. – Two suspicious males were reportedly looking into windows at the Travelodge Motel at 8216 East Main Street.

8:12 p.m. – A white Nissan Altima was stopped for speeding on Old House Road around the Good Hope Plantation intersection where driver Dana Diane Deloach was found to be operating under a suspended South Carolina driver’s license as well as being in possession of an open container of alcohol. Further investigation revealed a second open container under the front passenger seat occupied by William Warren, 40 of Ridgeland, resulting in him being cited and assigned a court date. Deloach was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as J&M Towing took possession of the vehicle.

9:02 p.m. – A silver Chevy passenger car was stopped for operating without headlights in operation at the intersection of West Main and Perry Street where driver Marisol Huerta, 19 of Ridgeland SC, was found to be operating without a driver’s license as her passenger Adela Gonzalez-Ponce, 22 of Ridgeland SC, was found to be in possession of a quantity of marijuana. Both suspects were cited and assigned a court date for the offenses as the vehicle was turned over to a licensed driver who arrived on scene shortly after.

AUGUST 6, 2015

1:05 a.m. – Ridgeland Officers assisted Jasper County Deputies in responding to a residence on Nimmer Court after a male victim was struck in the face by Brett Michael McCauley, 19 of Bluffton SC, during an argument over a female. The male victim then left the area in his vehicle at which point McCauley fired two gunshots into the ground as his vehicle passed. McCauley then fled into a wooded area as Law Enforcement was dispatched to the home but was located and taken into custody a short time later with the assistance of a Ridgeland K-9 Officer without further incident. He was transported to the Jasper County Detention Center by Sheriff’s Deputies under their charge of assault & battery 2nd.

1:54 a.m. – Ridgeland Officers assisted Jasper County Deputies in responding to a residence on South Logan Street after a suspect broke into the residence by dislodging a window mounted A/C unit. The homeowner, who was watching television with his girlfriend and two children, went to the room after hearing the unit fall to the floor at which time he encountered a male suspect climbing into the window armed with a knife. A fight then ensued as the homeowner attempted to defend himself and his property at which time he sustained several cuts from the suspect who was ultimately pushed back out of the window and onto the ground. He was last seen running on foot towards the Mitchellville area.

3:32 a.m. – A female driving a U-Haul truck reportedly threatened the cashier at an East Main Street business during a verbal dispute over change owed for a transaction. The suspect was last seen heading North on I-95 prior to Law Enforcement arrival.

6:05 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Sauls Funeral Home Office at 500 West Adams Street.

8:09 a.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 22 mile marker in reference to the operator of a white tractor trailer allegedly texting while driving.

8:41 a.m. – A robbery was reported at the Travelodge Motel at 8216 East Main Street after a black male armed with a handgun approached a tenant unloading his vehicle in the parking lot and ordered him inside of his room at gunpoint where he robbed him of an undisclosed amount of cash. The suspect then fled the area running East to the Carolina Lodge Motel where he disappeared into a wooded area as Officers established a containment perimeter. Jasper County Sheriff’s Deputies deployed a tracking K-9 which ultimately lead to the area behind Logan Lane Apartments at 544 South Logan Street. Evidence collected at the scene has been submitted to the Beaufort County Forensics Laboratory for DNA analysis.

9:10 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Ridgeland Baptist Church at 1448 Grays Highway.

10:23 a.m. – A noise complaint was filed in reference to loud music coming from a black Chrysler passenger car parked in front of the Pearls & Plunder Store at 7772 West Main Street.

10:55 a.m. – A report of possible animal abuse was filed in reference to a black and white puppy being provided no food or water at a residence on Brandon Cove in the North Ridge Community.

1:10 p.m. – Verdell Shiggs Scott, 46 of Ridgeland SC, was placed on trespass notice at Management’s request for the business property of the Travelodge Motel at 8216 East Main Street.

1:41 p.m. – A property damage report was filed at the former El Ranchito Restaurant at 11469 North Jacob Smart Boulevard after the property owner discovered several areas of graffiti spray painted on the interior walls as well as A/C units having been torn open and stripped of copper. Evidence collected at the scene has been submitted to the SLED Forensics Laboratory for analysis.

2:55 p.m. – Dashwan Akeem Anderson, 30 of Ridgeland SC, was reported missing from a residence on Lydia’s Lane. He is described as a mentally handicapped black male standing approximately 5 feet eight inches tall and weighing 160 pounds. He was last seen on July 23rd. 4:36 p.m. – Officers responded to a report of a 27 year old black male causing a disturbance at the Jasper County Mental Health Office at 1510 Grays Highway during a scheduled appointment. He was ultimately transported by Jasper County Deputies to Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeville for evaluation without incident.

11:22 p.m. – An assault was reported at the Waffle House Restaurant at 8185 East Main Street after a black male customer threatened to shoot one of the employees over her being busy with another customer when he was ready to leave. The victim declined pursuing charges on the matter but requested an escort to her vehicle when closing.

AUGUST 5, 2015

12:47 a.m. – Two suspicious persons were reported at the Fat Jack’s Consignment Store at 8205 East Main Street.

3:24 a.m. – A suspicious vehicle was reported at the Quality Inn Motel at 221 James Taylor Drive in reference to a tan mini van.

3:27 a.m. – Hardeeville Police Officers attempted to initiate a traffic stop on a black Toyota Avalon on I-95 North around the 11 mile marker after it was captured on radar traveling over 100 mph in a posted 70 mph zone. The driver of the vehicle refused to comply to the blue lights and siren and accelerated to over 140 mph initiating a pursuit in an attempt to evade arrest. Ridgeland Officers and Jasper County Deputies responded to the area of I-95 where they intercepted the pursuit as it exited the interstate at the 21 mile marker and continued traveling West on Main Street. The suspect attempted numerous times to evade pursuing Officers by weaving in and out of secondary roads in the town limits as well as steering towards one of the patrol vehicles attempting to force it off of the roadway. The pursuit eventually came to an end on Captain Bill Road as Officers were able to block in the Avalon on the I-95 overpass leaving the driver nowhere left to run. Tyree Shamon Jenkins, 27 of Ridgeland SC, was taken into custody without further incident and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center by Hardeeville Officers under their charges of failure to stop for blue lights & siren, reckless driving & no driver’s license. His 22 year old female passenger, Destiny Lashay Ford, was transported to her home at Baytree Apartments by Ridgeland Officers.

7:38 a.m. – Officers responded along with Fire & Medic units to a residence on East Adams Street after the female homeowner found her husband unresponsive. Charles Roger Blackwood, 51 of Ridgeland, was pronounced dead at the scene having succumbed to ongoing health issues.

2:02 p.m. – A cell phone was reportedly stolen from the Star Point BP Station at 11122 North Jacob Smart Boulevard after accidentally being left on the check out counter on July 28th. Surveillance video is being reviewed for suspect identification and pending charges.

8:59 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Badcock Furniture Store at 10213 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.

9:18 p.m. – A report was filed at a residence on East Wilson Street after a Mother discovered text messages sent to her 12 year old daughter by a male known as “Jake” asking for sexually explicit material.

2:38 a.m. – A suspicious person was reported outside of the Fiddlers Seafood Restaurant at 7738 West Main Street.

5:09 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the New Hong Kong Restaurant at 8176 East Main Street.

6:48 a.m. – Ridgeland Officers assisted Jasper County Deputies in responding to a residence on Augusta Avenue after an iPhone 4 was stolen from a vehicle parked outside of a residence during the overnight hours. The complainant provided information that a suspect my still be on scene in a wooded area behind the residence running towards Purdy Street. No suspects were discovered after Law Enforcement arrival.

7:56 a.m. – A property damage report was filed by a tenant at the Siesta Motel at 10530 South Jacob Smart Boulevard in reference to several articles of clothing being soaked in bleach while the complainant’s boyfriend was moving out following a domestic dispute.

8:57 a.m. – A burglary was reported at the Pizza Bella Restaurant at 8196 East Main Street after a suspect forced entry through the front door and removed an undisclosed amount of cash from the register. The entire incident was captured on surveillance video which is being reviewed for suspect identification and pending charges.

10:47 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on Three Tee Circle in the North Ridge Community.

11:55 a.m. – A burglary was reported at the New Hong Kong Restaurant at 8176 East Main Street after a suspect forced entry through the front door and removed an undisclosed amount of cash.

1:14 p.m. – A purple Diamond Back mountain bike was reportedly stolen from outside of the SCDMV Office at 407 Live Oak Road.

1:45 p.m. – A property damage report was filed at the Jackson Hewitt Tax Office at 8176 East Main Street after a rear door was found to have marks indicating that it was forcibly opened. No items were reported missing and nothing on the inside of the business indicated that entry was made.

1:51 p.m. – A robbery was reported at the McDonald’s Restaurant at 8548 Grahamville Road after a black male suspect followed the victim into the restroom where he assaulted him as he washed his hands and ultimately stole an undisclosed amount of money before leaving the area thru the Bobops Convenience Store. Surveillance footage of the incident is being reviewed for suspect identification.

6:10 p.m. – A green Ford Focus and a black Dodge Ram were involved in a collision at the intersection of South Jacob Smart Boulevard and East Main Street. No injuries were reported.

7:05 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 16 mile marker in reference to a silver Toyota weaving across both lanes of travel at a high rate of speed.

7:42 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Carquest Auto Parts Store at 11059 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.

7:51 p.m. – A domestic dispute between a husband and wife was reported at a residence on Honeycomb Place in the Bees Creek Plantation Community.

9:06 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North around the 16 mile marker in reference to a Greyhound bus weaving across the center line several times.

AUGUST 3, 2015

12:21 a.m. – A suspicious person was reported at the Queen Nails Salon at 8120 East Main Street in reference to a white male driving a silver Toyota.

12:58 a.m. – A reckless driver was reported on Bees Creek Road around the Sweet William intersection in reference to a blue Lexus.

7:02 a.m. – A suspicious vehicle was reported at the Sunoco Station at 11965 North Jacob Smart Boulevard in reference to a gray Ford Expedition.

7:18 a.m. – A report was filed at the Citgo Station at 107 Sycamore Drive in reference to a 15 year old male running into a wooded area behind the business when confronted by his Grandmother in the parking lot regarding a bicycle he had recently borrowed but failed to return.

11:30 a.m. – A larceny was reported at the Ridgeland Weekly Rentals in reference to a missing vehicle part.

4:14 p.m. – A larceny was reported at a residence on Miller Street after several items went missing from the victim’s mailbox during the month of June.

6:28 p.m. – A tan Cadillac Escalade was stopped for a wide radius turn violation on the roadway running between the Rite Aid Pharmacy and the Waffle House Restaurant at the East Main Street intersection where driver Jocelyn Burley Gasbarre was found to be operating while under the influence of alcohol as well as having a suspended South Carolina driver’s license. She was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as A-1 Towing took possession of the vehicle.

6:31 p.m. – Officers responded to a residence on McCormack Avenue in reference to a 52 year old female having sustained numerous injuries during a domestic dispute that occurred on Hilton Head Island on August 2nd but was not reported. After obtaining statements and evidentiary photographs the victim was transported by EMS Personnel to Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeville as the information gathered regarding the assault was forwarded to the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office.

8:29 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Kingdom Touch Ministries Church at 6714 Tillman Road.

8:49 p.m. – A welfare check was conducted on a disabled elderly male at Baytree Apartments at 107 First Avenue after his phone was answered by an unknown male when the complainant called.

10:53 p.m. – A suspicious person was reported on Forest Avenue in reference to a black male walking back and forth in front of an unoccupied residence and ultimately last seen walking behind it.

AUGUST 2, 2015

1:58 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Vaigneur Funeral Home at 6802 Tillman Road.

2:19 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Ridgeland Baptist Church at 1448 Grays Highway.

6:41 a.m.- Officers responded to an activated alarm at the New Hong Kong Restaurant at 8176 East Main Street.

7:38 a.m. – A Ford Explorer and a Saturn Vue were involved in a collision at the intersection of Highway 462 and Knowles Island Road. The driver of the Explorer was transported by EMS Personnel to Savannah Memorial Hospital for treatment.

8:43 a.m. – A red Nissan Maxima was involved in a single vehicle collision on I-95 South around the 21 mile marker. No injuries were reported.

9:10 a.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on North Railroad Avenue.

9:31 a.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 31 mile marker in reference to a white Ford crew cab pickup traveling at a high rate of speed and forcing other motorists off of the roadway.

11:02 a.m. – Clayton Clark Lowther Jr. was stopped in the parking lot of the KFC Restaurant at 8146 East Main Street after being spotted driving a silver moped on the sidewalk. A check of his driving record revealed him as being assigned a habitual traffic offender status by the SCDMV. He was placed under arrest at which time a search of his person revealed a quantity of Hydromorphone and Methadone resulting in two additional charges. He was then transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as A-1 Towing took possession of the vehicle.

12:54 p.m. – Derrice Quandre Lamonte Miller, 18 of Hardeeville SC, was placed on trespass notice at Management’s request at the Econo Lodge Motel at 511 James Taylor Drive after numerous complaints of illegal drug activity were received in reference to his room. He was refunded the money he paid prior to leaving the area.

1:18 p.m. – A maroon Ford Fusion was involved in a single vehicle collision on I-95 South around the 17 mile marker. No injuries were reported.

1:28 p.m. – A gray GMC Sierra and a black Chevy Equinox were involved in a collision on I-95 South around the 18 mile marker. No injuries were reported.

1:47 p.m. – A silver Nissan Maxima was involved in a single vehicle collision on I-95 South around the 17 mile marker after the driver lost control and struck the center median guard wire. No injuries were reported.

1:48 p.m. – A white Hyundai Santa Fe was involved in a single vehicle collision on I-95 South around the 17 mile marker after the driver lost control and struck the center median guard wire. No injuries were reported.

1:50 p.m. – A burgundy BMW 328i and a gray Buick LeSabre were involved in a collision on I-95 South around the 22 mile marker. No injuries were reported.

2:36 a.m. – A loitering complaint was filed at the Waffle House Restaurant at 8185 East Main Street in reference to two black males and two black females in the parking lot.

2:48 p.m. – A Ford Expedition and a Freightliner Columbia tractor trailer were involved in a collision on I-95 South around the 17 mile marker. No injuries were reported.

3:50 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 33 mile marker in reference to a vehicle traveling in the emergency lane to pass other motorists.

4:54 p.m. – Two females were reportedly arguing at a residence on East Adams Street.

4:58 p.m. – A gray Honda Odyssey, a white Lincoln station wagon and a white Ford transit van were involved in a collision on I-95 South around the Captain Bill Road overpass. No injuries were reported.

5:10 p.m. – April Marie Little was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center from the Piggly Wiggly Grocery Store at 10847 North Jacob Smart Boulevard after being caught stealing store items by Management. She and a male subject who was with her inside the store, David Stanley Jowanna 25 of Early Branch SC, were both placed on trespass notice for the business property at Management’s request.

7:11 p.m. – A disturbance was reported at the Rite Aid Pharmacy at 8225 East Main Street after Catina Latrelle Aiken, 42 of Ridgeland SC, began shouting at a customer who refused to give her money in the parking lot. Aiken was placed on trespass notice for the business property at Management’s request.

7:15 p.m. – A white Huffy bicycle was reported stolen from behind a tenant’s residence at the Ridgeland Weekly Rentals at 67 West Woodlawn Street sometime between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.

7:16 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the R&M Small Engine Repair Shop at 11211 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.

7:26 p.m. – A possibly intoxicated driver was reported in reference to a female subject driving a silver Ford Taurus in the parking lot of the Short Stop BP Station at 10728 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.

9:31 p.m. – A harassment complaint was filed at the Dollar General Store at 8123 East Main Street in reference to a black male in the parking lot asking customers and passers by for a ride.

AUGUST 1, 2015

2:35 a.m. – A report of possible illegal drug activity was reported at the Travelodge Motel at 8216 East Main Street.

3:35 p.m. – A call was received from staff members at the Travelodge Motel at 8216 East Main Street after Richard Weldon Galloway backed his white Chevy van over a curb almost striking the building. He then exited his vehicle and entered a rented room thinking that it was his at which time Law Enforcement was called. Galloway was found to be highly intoxicated believing that he was on Hilton Head and was attempting to get to the Plantation Inn Motel in Ridgeland. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as Scott’s Automotive took possession of the vehicle.

4:03 p.m. – Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Wright Directions Family Services Center at 60 South Railroad Avenue.

4:31 p.m. – A Honda Accord and a Pontiac Grand Am were involved in a collision at the intersection of Highway 462 and Rice Shire Road. Two male occupants from the Honda were transported by EMS Personnel to Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeville.

8:06 p.m. – A disturbance was reported at the Bobops Convenience Store at 8548 Grahamville Road in reference to a possibly intoxicated male subject leaving the business on a bicycle after knocking over a store display.

9:22 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North around the 16 mile marker in reference to a white and gray truck weaving across both lanes of travel.

10:47 p.m. – A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 18 mile marker in reference to a white pickup stopping in the middle of the roadway.
