THE FOLLOWING INCIDENTS ARE AN ACCOUNT OF CALLS AND CASES RESPONDED TO BY OFFICERS OF THE RIDGELAND POLICE DEPARTMENT. THESE CASES ARE CLOSED OR CURRENTLY UNDER INVESTIGATION. APRIL 30, 2014

Jasper County Deputies responding to an incorrigible juvenile complaint at a residence on Cotton Hill Road found Warren Brown Jr. to be listed as a wanted person by the Ridgeland Police Department. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center where Ridgeland Officers served an outstanding trespassing warrant against him. Brown was originally placed on trespass notice for the property of Logan Lane Apartments at 544 South Logan Street on October 1, 2013 when Officers responded to a domestic dispute. He then returned to the property on November 13, 2013 initiating another dispute but fled the area prior to Officers arrival at which time a warrant affidavit was filed against him.

Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Pizza Bella Restaurant at 8196 East Main Street.

A domestic dispute was reported at a residence on North Oakridge in the Oakridge Trailer Park Community. No charges were filed.

A loud music complaint was filed at the Siesta Motel at 10530 South Jacob Smart Boulevard. No charges were filed.

Officers responded to a domestic dispute at the Carolina Lodge Motel at 8260 East Main Street in reference to a mother and son fighting over a cell phone. No charges were filed.

A white Toyota Camry was stopped for speeding on I-95 North where driver Lissette Gonzalez, 39 of Allentown PA, was found to be in possession of a quantity of marijuana. She was then escorted to the Ridgeland Municipal Clerk of Court’s Office where she paid a fine for simple possession of marijuana before leaving the area.

A report of an incorrigible juvenile was filed by a resident on Sailfish Circle in the Carters Mill Estates Community in reference to a juvenile male refusing to go to school.

Ridgeland Officers assisted Jasper County Deputies in responding to an activated alarm at A-1 Towing at 9888 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.

Investigators spotted Clayton Lowther Jr. at his residence on Old House Road where he was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center in reference to five outstanding warrants against him. Lowther’s original charge stemmed from a traffic stop on August 24, 2013 at the intersection of Carters Mill Road and Main Street where he was issued two citations for speeding and driving under suspension 2nd. He then pled guilty to both charges in Ridgeland Municipal Court on September 23, 2013 and was placed on a time payment plan to settle the Court ordered fines which he failed to comply with resulting in 2 warrants being issued for his arrest on April 2, 2014. Prior to those two warrants being issued, Lowther was stopped while driving on Old House Road on January 31, 2014 where he was placed under arrest for an equipment violation, driving under suspension 3rd & habitual traffic offender. He then failed to appear in court to answer for the three charges on February 24, 2014 resulting in 3 warrants being issued for his arrest.

Ridgeland Officers assisted Jasper County Deputies responding to an activated alarm at the Dukes Barbecue Restaurant at 10061 South Jacob Smart Boulevard after an open door was discovered on the business.

Officers responded to a domestic dispute in the parking lot of the Wendy’s Restaurant at 8480 Grahamville Road. No charges were filed.

APRIL 29, 2014

A noise complaint was filed at Baytree Apartments at 107 First Avenue in reference to loud music coming from a vacant apartment. No charges were filed.

Eric Boston was placed under arrest at the Short Stop BP Station at 10728 South Jacob Smart Boulevard after being spotted drinking alcohol and asking customers for money in the parking lot. He was transported to the Jasper County Detention Center where he was placed on trespass notice for the BP property.

A noise complaint was filed by a resident on Promise Way in reference to loud music. No charges were filed.

APRIL 28, 2014

Investigators responded to a suspicious fire at a residence on Promise Way where several rooms were found to have been maliciously ignited. SLED Arson Investigators were called to the scene where several pieces of evidence were collected and transported to the SLED Forensics Laboratory for analysis.

A cordless drill was reported stolen from a residence on Hagin Drive three days prior to being reported. A warrant affidavit has been filed against Henry Spann, 32 of Ridgeland, for the offense.

A report of an incorrigible juvenile was filed by a residence on Second Avenue in Hardeeville after her daughter failed to ride the school bus home. The juvenile was found at a residence at Baytree Apartments at 107 First Avenue in Ridgeland at which time she was transported by Law Enforcement back to her mother.

Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Exit Realty Office at 10616 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.

Officers responded to a report of a single vehicle collision on I-95 North at the exit 22 off ramp where a gray Chevy Silverado was found unoccupied in a large drainage ditch. Two persons were reportedly seen fleeing from the vehicle by a fellow motorist at which time Officers requested the assistance of Jasper County Sheriff’s Deputies in order to locate the suspects. Roman & Emanuel Flores were discovered shortly after, intoxicated and staggering in a wood line near the accident scene at which time they were both placed under arrest. Roman Flores’ wallet was discovered inside of the wrecked vehicle as Blatchley’s Towing arrived to take possession. Emanuel Flores provided Officers with a fictitious name in an effort to conceal his identity resulting in an additional charge as both were transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.

A possible trespassing complaint was filed by a resident on Shadetree Street in the Carters Mill Estates Community in reference to an unknown person being inside the residence. Upon arrival Officers discovered the home to be unoccupied.

Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Ridgeland Baptist Church at 1448 Grays Highway.

A welfare check was requested by a concerned relative in reference to an elderly subject at a residence on South Jacob Smart Boulevard.

APRIL 27, 2014

A trespassing complaint was filed by a tenant at the Siesta Motel at 10530 South Jacob Smart Boulevard after a subject refused to leave upon request. No charges were filed.

Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Handy Dan’s Business Office at 7596 West Main Street.

A Lexus ES350 struck a dog in the roadway on I-95 North just before exit 21 causing damage to the vehicle. No injuries were reported.

A suspicious vehicle was reported at the Outpost Clothing Store at 10545 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.

APRIL 26, 2014

A black 2013 Dodge Challenger was stopped for speeding on I-95 South where driver Derrick Johnson was found to be operating under a suspended Mississippi driver’s license for failure to pay violations. In addition, the tag displayed on his vehicle returned registered to a 1994 Dodge. Johnson was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as A-1 Towing took possession of the vehicle.

Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on Newlin Street.

A report of property damage was filed at a residence at Heron Crossing Apartments at 72 Heron Crossing Drive after a tire on a burgundy Mercury Grand Marquis was found slashed. Upon further investigation Officers discovered that the tire had simply gone flat.

Officers responded to a report of two people shouting at one another in the parking lot of the Quality Inn Motel at 221 James Taylor Drive. While investigating the incident, Nicholas McLeod Sr. was found intoxicated and staggering in the roadway between the motel and Taylor’s BP Station with several fresh bloodstains on his shirt. As one Officer conducted a field interview with McLeod Sr. a second Officer discovered Nicholas McLeod Jr. intoxicated at the Taylor’s BP Station with bloodstains on his face from a small laceration. Both subjects were placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.

Several children were reportedly running unsupervised into the roadway in front of Carquest Auto Parts at 11059 North Jacob Smart Boulevard during a charity car wash.

A possible sexual assault was reported at a residence on Captain Bill Road stemming from an encounter at Ned’s Pub & Grub at 11090 North Jacob Smart Boulevard earlier in the evening. This case is currently under investigation.

APRIL 25, 2014

Patrol Officers discovered a strong odor of burning marijuana outside of the Waffle House Restaurant at 8185 East Main Street where Glenn Decosta was found standing against a wall underneath a “No Loitering” warning sign. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.

A Toyota Highlander and a Ford Edge were involved in a collision on Shadetree Street in the Carters Mill Estates Community. No injuries were reported.

Patrol Officers observed Catina Aiken on the property of Harvey’s Grocery Store at 8205 East Main Street where she had been placed on trespass notice on April 21st following an assault. She was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.

Officers responded to an activated alarm at the H&H Furniture Store at 10706 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.

A Nissan Altima and a Ford Explorer were involved in a collision in the Harvey’s Grocery Store parking lot at 8205 East Main Street. No injuries were reported.

A burgundy Nissan Versa was stopped for speeding on I-95 North where driver Lanay Souza, 28 of New Bedford MA, was found to be in possession of a quantity of marijuana. She was cited for both offenses and assigned a court date before leaving the area.

Officers traveled to the Jasper County Detention Center where an outstanding warrant was served on inmate Herbert Miller. He was originally cited for a noise ordinance violation in the Waffle House Restaurant parking lot at 8185 East Main Street on July 8, 2012. He then failed to appear in court to answer for the charge on July 16, 2012 and was found guilty at a trial in his absence at which time a warrant was issued for his arrest.

A suspicious person was reported at the Ridgeland Baptist Church at 1448 Grays Highway.

Officers responded to an assault at a residence at Baytree Apartments at 107 First Avenue where Shantay Jenkins reportedly chased an 11 year old juvenile male into his apartment where she held him against a wall and struck him in the face. Jenkins fled the area prior to Officers arrival and a warrant affidavit has been filed against her.

A juvenile male at a residence on Sailfish Circle in the Carters Mill Estates Community reportedly violated his curfew assigned as a stipulation of probation set by the Jasper County Family Court. After arriving at the residence Officers discovered that the male was on scene.

APRIL 24, 2014

Officers responded to a fight in progress between two females outside of the Department of Social Services Office at 10908 North Jacob Smart Boulevard. Both subjects left the area prior to Officers arrival, however one of the parties involved was located shortly after at a residence on East Wilson Street. The victim refused medical attention and refused to provide any information or pursue charges.

A suspicious vehicle was reported at a residence on Preacher Street.

A trespassing complaint was filed at a residence at Heron Crossing Apartments at 72 Heron Crossing Drive. No complainants or suspects were located.

A Toyota Camry and a Ford box truck were involved in a collision at the intersection of Smith’s Crossing and Highway 17. No injuries were reported.

Officers responded to an activated alarm at the H&R Block Office at 8120 East Main Street.

A report of illegal garbage dumping was reported at the Fiddlers Seafood Restaurant at 7738 West Main Street in reference to personal garbage being thrown into a private dumpster. Information was found inside the bags identifying the suspect. No charges were filed.

Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence at 569 East Wilson Street.

A Chevy Suburban and a Chevy Impala were involved in a collision in the parking lot of the McDonald’s Restaurant at 8548 Grahamville Road. No injuries were reported.

APRIL 23, 2014

A green Toyota Camry was stopped for a turn signal violation at the intersection of Owens Street and First Avenue where driver Sonya Sexton, 46 of Ridgeland, was found to be in possession of a quantity of marijuana. She was cited for the offense and assigned a court date before leaving the area.

A property damage report was filed at the York Telecom wireless phone store at 10688 South Jacob Smart Boulevard after a suspect threw a large rock at the front door window glass and shattering the outer pane.

A Ford F150 pickup and a Kingsport pull behind camper were involved in a collision in the parking lot of the Boat & RV Megastore at 401 Sycamore Drive. No injuries were reported.

Officers responded to an activated alarm at the South Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles Office at 348 Live Oak Road.

A suspicious vehicle was reported at Turpin Park at 901 North Logan Street.

A harassment complaint was filed at Harveys Grocery Store at 8205 East Main Street in reference to an ongoing dispute between two females which began in Pineland on April 20th. No charges were filed.

APRIL 22, 2014

A counterfeit bill was discovered at the Jasper County Clerk of Court’s Office at 265 Russell Street after being returned from a deposit by the Bank of Walterboro. The bill was turned over to the US Secret Service for analysis.

Officers responded to an intoxicated subject lying on the ground at the corner of West Main Street and North Jasper Street where Nathaniel Burrison was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.

An open door was discovered by a homeowner at a residence on North Green Street. Officers discovered no signs of forced entry and there were no items reported missing.

A blue Honda Accord was stopped for speeding on Smith’s Crossing at the South Logan Street intersection where driver Zlexandrelia Hamilton was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as the vehicle was released to the registered owner.

A noise complaint was filed by a resident at Baytree Apartments at 107 First Avenue in reference to several subjects being loud and disruptive in the parking lot area. No charges were filed.

A suspicious vehicle was reported at Turpin Park at 901 North Logan Street.

A trespassing complaint was filed at Harvey’s Grocery Store at 8205 East Main Street. No charges were filed.

Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Badcock Furniture Store at 10213 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.

APRIL 21, 2014

A semi tractor cab was broken into through a passenger side window and a citizens band radio stolen from it while parked in an empty lot beside of Sheffield Oil at 11033 North Jacob Smart Boulevard. Evidence collected at the scene has been submitted to the Beaufort County Forensics Laboratory for analysis.

Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on Colony Drive in the Bees Creek Plantation Community.

Sedrick Greene-Horton was placed under arrest at the Ridgeland Police Department after failing to appear in court at 9 am to answer for a traffic charge at which time he was found guilty at a trial in his absence. He was originally stopped for speeding at the entrance to Bees Creek Plantation on January 17th where he was placed under arrest for various charges.

A suspicious vehicle was reported in the parking lot of Baytree Apartments at 107 First Avenue.

An assault was reported at Harvey’s Grocery Store at 8205 East Main Street after Catina Aiken reportedly threw bleach in the complainant’s face when he attempted to assist her. The victim did not wish to pursue charges and Aiken was placed on trespass notice for the property.

A complaint of possible identity theft was filed by a resident at Baytree Apartments at 107 First Avenue after an incarcerated relative reportedly used their identity while in jail.

Officers responded to an activated alarm at Wright Direction Ministries at 112 South Railroad Avenue.

A complaint was filed by a resident on North Green Street in reference to mail being scattered in the roadway each day after delivery.

APRIL 20, 2014

A wallet was reported stolen from the Short Stop BP Station at 10728 South Jacob Smart Boulevard. Video footage of the incident is being reviewed for suspect identification and pending charges.

Officers responded to a domestic dispute at a residence on Shadetree Street in the Carters Mill Estates Community where one male victim was found to have been cut several times with a large knife. He was transported by EMS Personnel to Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeville for treatment.

A suspicious vehicle was reported at a vacant building on the corner of Woodlawn Street at 10586 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.

Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Grayco Building Supply Store at 119 Industrial Park Drive.

A Ford Windstar van and a Ford tow truck were involved in a collision on I-95 South at the exit 22 off ramp. No injuries were reported.

A report of illegal drug activity was reported at the Siesta Motel at 10530 South Jacob Smart Boulevard. No charges were filed.

Two people were reportedly arguing in the parking lot of Baytree Apartments at 107 First Avenue.

A reportedly intoxicated female was harassing customers in the parking lot of the Taylors BP Station and Dairy Queen drive-thru area at 80 Blue Heron Drive. No charges were filed.

APRIL 19, 2014

A black Dodge Charger was stopped for speeding on Highway 462 in front of Zion Oak Church. As Officers attempted to stop the vehicle the driver swerved into the opposing lane of oncoming traffic as he and the front seat passenger switched seats with the vehicle still in motion. After the switch the driver pulled to the side of the road where she identified herself as Lakisha Black, 36 of Beaufort, who also had her juvenile son in the backseat of the vehicle who was approximately 7 years of age. The original driver, Kevis Orr, was then found to be in possession of an open container of liquor resulting in him being placed under arrest. As he was being taken into custody for the offense he became combative with Officers attempting to pull away and headbutt them while continuously cursing and using racial slurs. He was ultimately restrained without further incident and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as Lakisha Black was issued a citation for allowing an unauthorized driver before being allowed to leave the area.

Officers responded to an activated alarm at the McDonald’s Restaurant at 8548 Grahamville Road.

A domestic dispute regarding a child custody issue was reported at a residence on Brandon Cove in the North Ridge Community.

Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Kingdom Touch Ministries Church at 6714 Tillman Road.

A white Chevy Suburban was stopped for speeding and failure to dim headlights on Highway 17 South at the Mango Drive intersection where driver Joshua Davidson was found to be operating under a suspended Florida driver’s license as well as being in possession of a quantity of marijuana. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as Scott’s Automotive took possession of the vehicle.

Officers responded to 2 separate activated alarms at the Main Street Pharmacy at 7752 West Main Street.

A harassment report was filed at a residence at Heron Crossing Apartments at 72 Heron Crossing Drive regarding threatening Facebook posts. No charges were filed.

Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Badcock Furniture Store at 10213 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.

APRIL 18, 2014

Officers responded to an activated alarm at the SCE&G business office at 11323 North Jacob Smart Boulevard where a rear window was found to have been broken through. Once inside, the suspect rummaged through various drawers and attempted to cut into the business safe without success. The entire incident was captured on video surveillance and evidence collected at the scene has been submitted to the Beaufort County Forensics Laboratory for analysis. Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Ridgeland High School at 250 Jaguar Trail.

A black Honda Civic was involved in a single vehicle collision on I-95 South around the 18 mile marker when the driver lost control and struck the center median guard wire. No injuries were reported.

A civil dispute was reported at the New Hong Kong Restaurant at 8176 East Main Street in reference to a disagreement between a customer and Management.

A gold Nissan Altima struck a handicap parking sign post in the parking lot of the Piggly Wiggly Grocery Store at 10847 North Jacob Smart Boulevard. No injuries were reported.

A debit card and cash were reported stolen from an employee’s purse at the Sassy Sisters Consignment Shop at 8205 East Main Street. A list of various places the card was used has been collected and video surveillance footage is being collected from said businesses for suspect identification and pending charges. A white Ford Expedition, a black Nissan Quest, a burgundy Honda Ridgeline and a red Chevy Traverse were all involved in a collision on I-95 North around the 18 mile marker. One 7 year old child was transported by EMS Personnel to Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeville.

A disorderly subject was reportedly disrupting staff members and customers at the Econo Lodge Motel at 511 James Taylor Drive. No charges were filed.

A Chevy Impala and a Ford Excursion were involved in a collision in the parking lot of the Short Stop BP Station at 10728 South Jacob Smart Boulevard. No injuries were reported and both parties agreed to settle the collision privately with no report filed.

A male suspect was caught by staff members attempting to steal a purse from a tenant’s room at the Days Inn Motel at 8216 East Main Street. The suspect fled the area on foot prior to Officers arrival.

A blue Suzuki Forenza, a red Hyundai Santa Fe and a blue Pontiac Aztec were involved in a collision on I-95 North around the 22 mile marker. No injuries were reported.

APRIL 17, 2014

Arthur Joseph Fraleigh was detained and transported to the Ridgeland Municipal Clerk of Court’s Office in reference to an outstanding warrant after being located at a residence on Ables Drive. Fraleigh was originally charged with assault and battery following an incident at a residence on East Adams Street on January 17, 2013 in which he and his girlfriend held down a female victim and struck her several times during a dispute over a cell phone. Fraleigh fled the area the following day after Investigators obtained a warrant and was ultimately found sleeping inside of a residence on Lydia’s Lane on July 27, 2013 where he was placed under arrest. He then pled guilty to the charge in Ridgeland Municipal Court on August 26, 2013 and was given a time payment plan to pay the court ordered fine which he failed to comply with resulting in a warrant being issued for his arrest on October 14, 2013. He was released after paying the full balance of the fine to the Clerk of Court.

A suspicious person was reported in the parking lot of Harvey’s Grocery Store at 8205 East Main Street.

Officers responded to a trespassing complaint at the Siesta Motel at 10530 South Jacob Smart Boulevard where Danny Morris, 17 of Ridgeland, was placed on trespass notice and escorted off of the property at the request of Property Management. No charges were filed.

Patrol Officers spotted an open door on a vacant residence on Sailfish Circle in the Carters Mill Estates Community. The Property Manager and Maintenance Staff were notified to secure the door.

Miyake Jenkins was placed under arrest at her residence on Annette Road in reference to a warrant being issued against her following an assault at Harvey’s Grocery Store at 8205 East Main Street on April 16. She was transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.

A suspicious vehicle was reported at the baseball field behind the Ridgeland Boys & Girls Club at 456 Grays Highway.

APRIL 16, 2014

Patrol Officers spotted a suspicious person looking through a parked van in front of a residence on South Green Street. The suspect fled the area heading South on Green Street. No items were reported missing.

A call was received in reference to arguing in the parking lot of Heron Crossing Apartments at 72 Heron Crossing Drive.

An orange Mongoose bicycle was reported stolen from Turpin Park at 901 North Logan Street. Investigators were able to locate the bicycle a short time later at the Siesta Motel at 10530 South Jacob Smart Boulevard having been stolen by a juvenile male.

A suspicious prescription was reported at the Rite Aid Pharmacy at 8225 East Main Street. Officers were able to determine the paperwork to be legitimate.

Officers responded to an assault at Harvey’s Grocery Store at 8205 East Main Street after Miyake Shamai Jenkins, 33 of Ridgeland, struck the complainant in the face. After reviewing store video surveillance footage a warrant affidavit was filed against Jenkins for the offense.

A call was received from a resident at Heron Crossing Apartments at 72 Heron Crossing Drive in reference to a male in the parking lot concealing a handgun in his waistband. A subject matching the description was checked for weapons but none were found.

An animal complaint was filed on North Green Street in reference to a pit bull reportedly acting aggressive.

A white Ford Explorer was stopped for speeding on North Green Street where driver Ricardo Zaragosa was found to be operating without a driver’s license. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as the vehicle was released to the registered owner.

A suspicious vehicle was reported at Heron Crossing Apartments at 72 Heron Crossing Drive.

A civil dispute was reported at the Subway Restaurant at 8234 East Main Street in reference to an ex-employee attempting to get a final paycheck.

Several tools and a quantity of wire were reported stolen from a porch at a residence on First Avenue.

A property damage report was filed by a traveler on I-95 South after a tractor trailer driver reportedly threw something out of the cab of the truck striking the windshield of the complainant’s black Ford Fiesta. The report was filed an hour after the incident occurred due to the complainant being en route to an appointment.

APRIL 15, 2014

Patrol Officers observed a silver Honda Civic parked at the Jaspers Porch Restaurant just before midnight where 3 juvenile males from Hardeeville and one juvenile female from Ridgeland were reportedly smoking marijuana. The male subjects were told to leave the area as the female was transported to her residence on Brooklyn Drive where she was released to the custody of her Mother.

A suspicious vehicle was reported at Heron Crossing Apartments at 72 Heron Crossing Drive.

Officers responded to an activated alarm at the All Children’s Pediatric Clinic at 10962 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.

A noise complaint was filed at Baytree Apartments at 107 First Avenue in addition to a report of illegal drug activity. No charges were filed.

A report of property damage was filed by a resident on Oakridge Drive North in the Oakridge Trailer Park Community after two of the complainants tires on her silver 2005 Toyota Scion were found slashed.

Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on Honeycomb Lane in the Bees Creek Plantation Community.

A civil dispute was filed at the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office at 12008 North Jacob Smart Boulevard in reference to a private camper sale.

A vehicle lost control on I-95 South around the 18 mile marker leaving the roadway and becoming stuck in a drainage ditch. No injuries were reported.

APRIL 14, 2014

A domestic dispute was reported at a residence on Shadetree Street in the Carters Mill Estates Community in reference to harassing telephone calls. No charges were filed.

A report of unlawful communications was filed by a resident at Baytree Apartments at 107 First Avenue in reference to an ex-girlfriend of the complainant’s son calling and reportedly making threats over the telephone. The victim declined pursuing any criminal charges.

A suspicious vehicle was reported at the Liberty Tax Office at 8120 East Main Street.

Officers responded to a domestic dispute in the parking lot of Baytree Apartments at 107 First Avenue where one of the parties involved, Antwain Drake, provided Officers with a fictitious name in an attempt to conceal his identity. Once his true name was discovered he was found to be operating under a suspended South Carolina driver’s license with three prior convictions for driving under suspension as well as being listed as a wanted person by the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office. After being placed under arrest he was found to be in possession of a quantity of marijuana and cocaine he had attempted to conceal in a nearby dumpster resulting in additional charges. He was transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.

A report of property damage and illegal drug activity was filed by a resident on Shadetree Street in the Carters Mill Estates Community.

A lost wallet was reported by a resident on Third Avenue which had reportedly last been seen at the Piggly Wiggly Grocery Store at 10847 North Jacob Smart Boulevard. The wallet was shortly after recovered by a store employee in a shopping cart in the parking lot and returned to the owner.

Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on Live Oak Farm Road.

A property damage report was filed at a residence on North Green Street in reference to the complainant’s vehicle hood being damaged.

APRIL 13, 2014

An attempted break in was reported at the Ridgeland Post Office at 7554 West Main Street after several areas of damage were discovered on panes of shatter proof glass on the rear of the building.

A harassment complaint was filed at a residence on Shadetree Street in the Carters Mill Estates Community. No charges were filed.

A welfare check was conducted on a juvenile reportedly left alone inside of a vehicle in the parking lot of the Piggly Wiggly Grocery Store at 10847 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.

A noise complaint was filed at the Siesta Motel at 10530 South Jacob Smart Boulevard. No charges were filed.

Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Ridgeland Baptist Church at 1448 Grays Highway.

A domestic dispute was reported in the parking lot of the Rite Aid Pharmacy at 8225 East Main Street. No charges were filed.

A white Ford E-Series van was stopped for driving without headlights on I-95 North where driver Erebus Pastures, 25 of Charlotte NC, was found to be in possession of an open container of alcohol. During the course of the investigation passengers Ricky Sadler, 55 of Gastonia NC, and Michael Dunbar, 41 of Charlotte NC, were both found to be in possession of open containers of alcohol as well. Passenger Keith Williams, 49 of Charlotte NC, was found to be in possession of a quantity of marijuana which he attempted to conceal in a bag of potato chips and passenger William Kelly, 42 of Charlotte NC, was found to be in possession of a Ruger P345 handgun at which time he was placed under arrest. He was transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as the driver and other passengers were cited for their particular offenses and assigned a court date prior to being allowed to leave the area.

Jennifer Poovey was arrested at her home at 32 Crested Eagle Drive in reference to a larceny at the Carolina Lodge at 8260 East Main Street on April 11th. She was transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.

Officers responded to a requested welfare check at a residence at Baytree Apartments at 107 First Avenue in reference to an unreported domestic dispute earlier the same day.

APRIL 12, 2014

A civil dispute between a landlord and tenant was reported at a residence on North Green Street.

A report of illegal drug activity was filed in reference to two vehicles at the intersection of Forrest Drive and South Logan Street.

Officers responded to two separate alarms at the American Car Care Shop at 11263 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.

A white Mazda CX7 and a blue Honda Crosstour were involved in a collision on I-95 South around the 22 mile marker. No injuries were reported.

APRIL 11, 2014

Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Sunoco Station at 11965 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.

A harassment complaint was filed at a residence on Sailfish Circle in the Carters Mill Estates Community after a verbal dispute between two neighboring homes. No charges were filed.

Albert Bright was placed under arrest at the Carolina Lodge Motel at 8260 East Main Street and transported to the Jasper Count Detention Center in reference to an outstanding warrant issued by the Ridgeland Police Department. Bright was originally charged on February 13, 2013 after being caught shoplifting by store management at the Piggly Wiggly Grocery Store at 10847 North Jacob Smart Boulevard. He was later arrested for the offense at his home at Logan Lane Apartments at 544 South Logan Street on April 17, 2013. He then failed to appear in Ridgeland Municipal Court to answer for the charge on May 13, 2013 at which time a warrant was issued for his arrest.

A Chevrolet HHR struck an unoccupied Cadillac Deville and the home it was parked in front of at a residence on Carters Mill Road. No injuries were reported.

Earl Bernard Garvin was caught shoplifting items by store management at the Piggly Wiggly Grocery Store at 10847 North Jacob Smart Boulevard. When confronted Garvin fled the area prior to Officers arrival but was soon after located behind an apartment building on South Green Street where he was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center. A check of Garvin’s criminal record showed several prior convictions for property crimes resulting in the current charge being enhanced to a felony violation.

A harassment complaint was filed at Harvey’s Grocery Store at 8205 East Main Street in reference to a female customer threatening another. The victim declined pursuing charges and stated that she would instead file for a restraining order at the Jasper County Magistrates Office.

A suspicious person was reported at the Jaspers Porch Restaurant at 153 James Taylor Drive.

A noise complaint as well as suspected illegal drug activity was reported at Baytree Apartments at 107 First Avenue. No charges were filed.

Ridgeland Officers served three outstanding warrants on inmate Cornelius Wright Jr. at the Jasper County Detention Center in reference to an incident at the Shell Station at 8309 East Main Street. On February 19, 2011 Wright was driving a red Dodge Charger when he stopped for fuel at the station leaving his car stereo turned up to a point where Officers could hear it over the traffic on I-95 several hundred feet away in violation of the town’s noise ordinance. Wright was then found to be in possession of an open container of alcohol as well as operating under a suspended South Carolina driver’s license with 2 prior convictions for driving under suspension. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as Scott’s Automotive took possession of the vehicle. Wright then failed to appear in Ridgeland Municipal Court to answer for the charges on April 4, 2011 at which time three warrants were issued for his arrest.

A trespassing complaint was filed by a resident on Hagin Drive in reference to several males continuously walking through the complainant’s yard. No charges were filed.

APRIL 10, 2014

Officers responded to a residence on Captain Bill Road after a 911 call was received in reference to an accidental self inflicted gunshot wound. The subject was transported by EMS Personnel to Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeville for treatment to non life threatening injuries.

A tractor trailer became lodged in a roadside drainage ditch at the intersection of Nuna Rock Road and North Jacob Smart Boulevard.

Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on Eleanor Avenue.

A civil dispute was reported at the Quality Inn Motel at 221 James Taylor Drive after a subject was found sleeping in a vacant room. Upon further investigation Officers discovered that the suspect had gained permission from motel staff.

A Chevrolet pickup and a Toyota pickup were involved in a collision at the intersection of Smith’s Crossing and Ellis Hodges Road. No injuries were reported.

A domestic dispute between a boyfriend and girlfriend was reported at the Siesta Motel at 10530 South Jacob Smart Boulevard. No charges were filed.

Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on North Railroad Avenue.

A former patient of Coastal Medical Associates was reportedly causing a disturbance at 10911 North Jacob Smart Boulevard after he refused to leave the property when ordered by staff members. No charges were filed.

APRIL 9, 2014

Jasper County Deputies traveled to the Liberty County Detention Center in Hinesville Georgia where a hold had been placed on inmate Christopher Wines in reference to several outstanding warrants from the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office, Ridgeland Police Department and Yemassee Police Department. Wines was wanted by Ridgeland Investigators for the January 7th larceny of a vehicle tag at the Carolina Collision Auto Body Shop at 11365 North Jacob Smart Boulevard as well as a burglary at the same location on January 29th. He was also listed as wanted for several larcenies committed on January 9th at Smith’s Auto Body at 533 South Green Street and Liberty Auto Sales at 493 South Green. He was ultimately captured during a stolen vehicle pursuit in Liberty County GA on February 3, 2014.

A Ford Aerostar minivan was found burned on Glover Road. No injuries were reported and no vehicles matching the description have been reported stolen in the area. Further information is pending location of the vehicle identification number. The vehicle was towed from the area by Webster’s Automotive.

A domestic dispute was reported at a residence on Old House Road in reference to a custody exchange. No charges were filed.

A civil dispute was reported at the Siesta Motel at 10530 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.

A suspicious person was reported asking customers for money at the Sassy Scissors Hair Salon at 8205 East Main Street. No charges were filed.

A collision between two residents’ vehicles was reported in the parking lot of Heron Crossing Apartments at 209 Heron Crossing Drive. No injuries were reported.

Officers responded to an activated alarm at the R&M Small Engine Repair Service at 11211 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.

A civil dispute regarding loaned property not being returned was reported at the Ridgeland Weekly Rentals at 67 West Woodlawn Street.

An open door was discovered by Patrol Officers at the Ridgeland Boys & Girls Club at 456 Grays Highway.

A juvenile was reported missing from a residence on Oak Hill Road after not returning from a friend’s house at the time specified but arrived at home shortly after the report was filed.

APRIL 8, 2014

A domestic dispute was reported at a residence at Woodridge Apartments at 414 South Logan Street. No charges were filed.

An intoxicated subject was reported inside the SCE&G Office at 11323 North Jacob Smart Boulevard. A family member was contacted who arrived on scene to take custody of the subject. No charges were filed.

A suspicious person was reported outside of the Jasper County School District Office at 10942 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.

A suspected case of child abuse that occurred in 2013 was reported at Baytree Apartments at 107 First Avenue.

Officers responded to a civil dispute at the Brothers Tire Service at 9595 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.

A Ford Expedition and a Nissan Altima were involved in a collision at the intersection of East Adams Street and South Jacob Smart Boulevard. No injuries were reported.

An International tractor trailer was involved in a single vehicle collision on I-95 South around the 21 mile marker after the driver fell asleep and struck the guard wires in the center median. No injuries were reported.

A welfare check was conducted on a residence at Brandon Cove in the North Ridge Community after a 911 hang up call.

Officers responded to an activated alarm at the All Children’s Pediatrics Office at 10962 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.

A suspicious person was reported asking customers for money at the Harvey’s Grocery Store at 8205 East Main Street and later the same subject was reported at the Ridgeland Physical Therapy Office at 8225 East Main Street. No charges were filed.

APRIL 7, 2014

A forgery report was filed at the Shell Station at 8309 East Main Street after a fictitious Burger King payroll check was cashed in the amount of $464. A warrant has been issued against Crissy V. Foster, 29 of 144 Dogwood Lane in Hardeeville, for the offense.

Several storage units were reportedly burglarized at the Green Street Storage Facility at 261 South Green Street.

Officers responded to a complaint of a suspicious male in the parking lot of the Short Stop BP Station at 10728 South Jacob Smart Boulevard where Eric Boston was found behind the business with an open container in his possession. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.

A welfare check was conducted at a residence on Brandon Cove in the North Ridge Community in reference to the care of a juvenile.

A report of possible gunshots was filed in reference to the area of South Logan Street.

A harassment complaint was filed at the Boat & RV Megastore at 401 Sycamore Drive in reference to ex-employee Andrew Ahlers repeatedly calling. Ahlers is already the primary suspect in a harassment incident at the business on November 4, 2013 as well as a theft on November 12, 2013. The Ridgeland Police Department also has an outstanding arrest warrant against him stemming from an incident on February 20, 2014 and he is listed as a wanted person by the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office.

A white Chrysler Pacifica was reportedly struck by another vehicle in the parking lot of Heron Crossing Apartments at 153 Heron Crossing Drive. The suspect vehicle then left the area without reporting the collision.

APRIL 6, 2014

A blue Mazda Miata was stopped for reckless driving on Smiths Crossing Road at the Sisters Ferry Road Intersection where the driver, a 16 year old male juvenile, provided Officers with a fictitious name in an attempt to conceal his identity. Officers were ultimately able to discover his name through previous incidents at which time he was placed under arrest and transported to the Department of Juvenile Justice Detention Center in Columbia as Scott’s Automotive took possession of the vehicle.

A loud music complaint was filed at the Siesta Motel at 10530 South Jacob Smart Boulevard. No charges were filed.

A Ford Taurus and a Jeep Sport Utility were involved in a collision on I-95 North. No injuries were reported.

Officers responded to a civil dispute at a residence on Brandon Cove in the North Ridge Community.

A purse left on the driver’s seat of an unlocked white Buick Century was stolen in the parking lot of Harvey’s Grocery Store at 8205 East Main Street.

A suspicious person was reported at the Turpin Park treehouse at 901 North Logan Street.

APRIL 5, 2014

Officers responded to a domestic dispute at a residence on Sailfish Circle in the Carters Mill Estates Community where Jaime Castillo-Meza was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.

Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Main Street Pharmacy at 7752 West Main Street.

A Toyota Corolla and a Ford Aerostar were involved in a collision in front of the McDonald’s Restaurant at 8548 Grahamville Road. No injuries were reported.

Two suspicious persons were seen coming from the Jaspers Porch Restaurant just after 2:00 am. When Officers made contact with one of the intoxicated subjects in the parking lot of the Burger King Restaurant at 8257 East Main Street he provided them with a fictitious name in an attempt to conceal his identity. While conducting a field sobriety test on the subject a quantity of crack cocaine fell from his hat at which time he was placed under arrest. Officers were able to obtain his true identity of Antonio Aguilar through previous arrest records as he was transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.

Two suspicious person were reported at the Waffle House Restaurant at 8185 East Main Street.

A domestic dispute was reported at a residence at Woodridge Apartments at 414 South Logan Street. No charges were filed.

Officers responded to 2 separate alarms at a residence on Three Tee Circle in the North Ridge Community.

George Legath reported several suspicious bones in a wooded area near the Christ Central Mission where he had been residing recently. A records check of Legath showed him to be listed as a wanted person by the Pasco County Sheriff’s Department in Florida for a probation violation stemming from a burglary conviction in that state. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center to await extradition back to Florida to answer for the charge.

Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Seventh Day Adventist Church at 8569 Grahamville Road.

A harassment complaint was filed by a customer at the Short Stop BP Station in reference to a subject loitering in the parking lot asking for money. No charges were filed.

Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Jasper County Courthouse at 265 Russell Street.

A green Dodge Neon was stopped for disregarding the stop sign at the intersection of Carters Mill Road and West Main Street where driver Darteria Williams, 22 of Bluffton, was found to be in possession of a quantity of marijuana. She was cited for the offenses and assigned a court date before leaving the area.

An intoxicated male was reportedly harassing tenants and causing a disturbance at the Ridgeland Weekly Rentals at 67 West Woodlawn Street.

A domestic dispute was reported at a residence on Sisters Ferry Road. No charges were filed.

Officers responded to an activated alarm at the American Car Care Center at 11263 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.

Jasper County Deputies responding to a domestic dispute at a residence on Rice Shire Road discovered one of the parties involved was listed as a wanted person by the Ridgeland Police Department. Michael Taylor was originally arrested on March 13, 2013 after being identified as one of two suspects in a shoplifting incident captured on surveillance video at the Beauty World Supply Store at 8205 East Main Street on March 2, 2013. He was found guilty of the charge in Ridgeland Municipal Court on April 15, 2013 and given a time payment plan to pay the Court ordered restitution which he failed to comply with resulting in a warrant being issued for his arrest on August 26, 2013.

APRIL 4, 2014

Clinton Green was placed under arrest at the corner of North Green Street and Third Avenue after being found intoxicated and falling in the roadway. He was transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.

Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Piggly Wiggly Grocery Store at 10847 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.

A property damage report was filed at a residence on Brandon Cove in the North Ridge Community after a covered porch screen was found cut in several places on the back of a vacant residence. A suspect in several other incidents of property damage in the same area was seen fleeing the residence prior to Officers arrival.

A subject at Security Finance at 7770 West Main Street filed a harassment complaint in reference to several unwanted telephone calls. No charges were filed.

Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Short Stop BP Station at 10728 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.

A disabled vehicle in front of the Sunoco Station at 11965 North Jacob Smart Boulevard held up traffic for a brief period as Officers assisted in removing it from the roadway.

Two suspicious vehicles were reported at the Brothers Tire Shop at 9595 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.

APRIL 3, 2014

A black Ford Explorer was stopped for several moving violations on I-95 North where driver Jose Rivera was found to be in possession of an open container of alcohol in addition to operating under the influence, driving without a license and without proof of insurance. He was then placed under arrest at which time he provided Officers without a fictitious name in an attempt to conceal his identity but ultimately admitted the violation after evidence was discovered inside of his vehicle. He was transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as Little T’s Towing took possession of the vehicle.

A suspicious vehicle was reported at Baytree Apartments at 107 First Avenue after it was reportedly following a female traveling alone.

A harassment complaint was filed at the Quality Cleaners Store at 7709 West Main Street. No charges were filed.

A shoplifting incident was captured on video surveillance at the Beauty World Supply Store at 8205 East Main Street. An animal complaint was filed at a residence on Ward Court in reference to the homeowners dog being attacked by a pit bull resulting in several hundred dollars in veterinary bills. Upon further investigation the incident was found to have occurred at a separate residence outside of the town limits at which time the case was forwarded to the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office.

Two suspicious persons were reported on Bailey Lane.

A welfare check was requested on a subject at the Star Point BP Station at 11122 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.

A suspicious person was reported at the Short Stop BP Station at 10728 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.

A domestic dispute was reported at the intersection of First Avenue and North Jasper Street after a male and female were seen arguing inside of a stopped vehicle. The subjects left the area prior to Officers arrival.

APRIL 2, 2014

Officers responded to a dispute between a male and female at the Ridgeland Weekly Rentals at 67 West Woodlawn Street in reference to a reportedly intoxicated male throwing the complainants belongings into the complex dumpster. No charges were filed.

A missing temporary tag was reported missing from a 1999 Honda Accord at a residence on Dolphin Drive in the Carters Mill Estates Community. The tag is believed to have fallen off of the vehicle and is not suspected of being stolen.

A suspicious vehicle was reported at the Days Inn Motel at 8216 East Main Street.

A violation of a court order was filed in reference to a child custody exchange at the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office at 12008 North Jacob Smart Boulevard after one of the separated parties reportedly brought another subject to the exchange. No charges were filed.

Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Sunoco Station at 11965 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.

A civil dispute was reported at the Boat & RV Store at 401 Sycamore Drive.

A welfare check was conducted at the Christ Central Mission at 11754 North Jacob Smart Boulevard after the Mission Coordinator picked up a vagrant 3 days prior walking on Frontage Road who became difficult to deal with in regards to the Mission rules and regulations.

A suspicious vehicle was reported at the Short Stop BP Station at 10728 South Jacob Smart Boulevard after the driver reportedly attempted to block another customer’s vehicle in at the gas pump. Both parties left the area prior to Officers arrival.

APRIL 1, 2014

Officers responded to a report of a child crying for an unusual amount of time inside of a residence at Logan Lane Apartments at 544 South Logan Street. After several attempts to get an answer at the door a vehicle pulled into the parking lot with the resident. Upon opening the door a 14 month old child was found sitting at the top of the staircase crying and a 5 year old and a 3 year old sleeping inside of an upstairs bedroom. The resident identified herself as the mother of the children and stated that she and her cousin had left the children alone and unsupervised to go and purchase Tylenol. The incident was documented and turned over to the Department of Social Services.

A welfare check was conducted at a residence on Sailfish Circle in the Carters Mill Estates Community after friends and neighbors became concerned about the homeowners health. At the conclusion of the investigation the case was turned over to the Department of Social Services.

Officers responded to a civil dispute at the Liberty Tax Office at 8120 East Main Street.

A noise complaint was filed at Heron Crossing Apartments at 209 Heron Crossing Drive in reference to an upstairs neighbor. No charges were filed.

A harassment complaint was filed by a subject at Regions Bank at 11004 North Jacob Smart Boulevard in reference to a female approaching her vehicle at the drive up ATM machine and brandishing a staple gun in her waistband stating that the complainant was taking too long. The victim did not wish to pursue charges.

A traveler on I-95 South reported striking a large piece of tire debris causing damage to her Toyota Prius. No injuries were reported.

A maroon GMC Envoy was stopped in the parking lot of the Piggly Wiggly Grocery Store at 10847 North Jacob Smart Boulevard where driver Nadia Johnson was found to be operating under a suspended South Carolina driver’s license for two failure to pay traffic ticket offenses. She was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as J&M Towing took possession of the vehicle.

A suspicious vehicle was reported at the Ridgeland Boys & Girls Club at 456 Grays Highway.

An argument between two men was reported in the parking lot of the Ridgeland Weekly Rentals at 67 West Woodlawn Street. No charges were filed.

Officers responded to the Jasper County Mental Health Offices at 1508 Grays Highway in reference to a patient arguing and cursing with counselors attempting to collect his information. A pick up order was then issued by the Jasper County Probate Judge at which time the patient was turned over to Jasper County Sheriff’s Deputies for transport to Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeville for evaluation.
